Recurring roller coaster theme

I really hate riding roller coasters b/c I dont' like that "thrilling" feeling other people love so much. It makes me want to hurl. I'm not scared of them b/c there is no reason to be, it's not like someone is gonna force me on one or anything and I rarely go to theme parks. But for some reason, for years, I have dreamed about riding them and loving them, and every one of them is called "dragon" something or other and has a part where the ride goes into a dark cave and stops, and the passengers get off and walk through some haunted house type thing. Then the ride continues and gets really scary and I want to get off.

I also dream sometimes that I"m either lying under a track of a coaster, or sitting on part of the track doing something or other (but not on the track itself, like maybe a platform where mechanics stand to repair the track or something, I dunno), and Im terrified that a coaster car is going to come by and hit me. When I'm riding them, I'm almost always with my sister who likes roller coasters and when I'm on the track or platform my cousin is usually with me.

Everyone says, "oh It's because you secretly like coasters and want to ride them" but I don't think so, because I've tried a couple of times and have no desire to ride them again. Can anyone come up with a possible deeper meaning or symbolism to this? :o

Often the sources of our unusual dreams are very hard to pin down.
It may simply be that you are scared of the dangers of a rollercoaster, not the thrill itself.
If that is not the case, then it may be something far more arbitary in your life that you have subconsciously linked to the idea of a rollercoaster. I'm no good with dream interpretation, so I won't delve into that.

One way of dealing with this, is to become lucid in a dream like that and confront the problem lucidly.
I've often done this as a child, and by dealing with the nightmare (which yours is on the verge of being) you deal with the psychological cause of the nightmare. Strange I know, but I experienced it firsthand.

So I see three ways of dealing with it:
1. You can become lucid in the dream, and confront the problem. I'd suggest using rollercoasters as a dreamsign. You can practice it by getting a game or a video involving a rollercoaster, and watch it for 20 minutes before bed - doing a lot of reality checks at the same time. Train yourself to associate rollercoasters with reality checks.

2. You can find the underlying psychological cause of the dream. This can sometimes be hard, and may even require a psychologist (who are sometimes wrong too, of course). Then deal with the real-life problem.

3. Learn to just accept the dream, or even enjoy them. I guess this isn't an option, in your opinion :)

I haven't had one of those dreams in a couple months but we will see.....maybe you'll be in my dream on the ride with me and puke on me, then I'll know I'm dreaming! :barf:

Cool. If your roommate has been playing it a lot, eg after you go to sleep... that could explain it why you're dreaming it.
In that case, it's nothing in your own mind, its an external influence after all ;)
If this is the case, get your roommate to use earphones :P
If this isn't the case, then I guess you should probably go with the plan to make a dreamsign of it with the game

Nah, I've had the dreams for long before I even heard of the game. And I just recently discovered Placebo and now they are one of my favorite bands! I really want to see them live. :bravo:
