Dream about policemen, sex and manhole covers
Hi everyone, first post here on this forum, have been a member of a few others but I never seem to feel like I'm part of a community... let's hope I find my place here!
Anyway I wonder if you can help.
I had a very vivid dream last night (I've just woken up actually) and wonder what the meaning is.
A bit about me, in in my mid twenties, I'm a girl, I work one day a week and do quite a bit of volunteer work too, though it's sometime begrudgingly! I've just decided to set up a list of things I want to do before I die as I feel I need to get more out of life. I've never been in trouble with the police and am in a very stable, happy relationship. We've been together for 5 years.
Anyway, yesterday I spent most of my time doing my volunteer work. I spoke with my elderly friend who used to be a nurse. I met up with one of my friends and talked to her about a few problems she's been having. Then my partner decided to surprise me with a home-cooked meal of steak and potato, we talked over dinner, watched a bit of TV then went to bed.
So, onto the dream:
I dreamed all night, but this was the last part of the dream, and I remember it so clearly, unlike the rest of the dream. The bits in italic aren't so memorable or clear as the rest. The bits in bold are what stuck out the most.
In my dream, I was with a red headed woman. She was thin, like me, and we were partners (not in a relationship or anything, more like friends)
We both went into a community hall type place, holding a piece of wood. It was long, and needed four people to carry it. I winked and flirted with the men there and two offered to help us carry this piece of wood. The red head wanted to sit at the back, bit I wanted to sit at the front of the hall.
We leave the hall and it's hot and sunny outside.
Again, I was flirting with two men, while the redhead sneaked into a lorry parked nearby. I finished up the flirting and we take off. We drive on a motorway type place and know we're being chased, and for a small while manage to fly the lorry over a few cars. Throughout the whole dream, this was the only part when I felt a bit scared. The rest of the dream I felt empowered and like I KNEW everything was going to be OK.
We stopped for a while in a different area to where we stole the lorry and two policemen got in with is, I'm unsure how, one older with longish grey hair, the other younger and with dark hair. Neither are people I know.
We carried on driving, told policemen to get out, but they didn't. We were now on the streets of New York, driving on pavements etc and still being chased by the police. Didn't feel scared at all at this point.
Manage to get into a room and seal the door (with the lorry) and I tied the older police-guy up to a chair in another little room. The redhead was further in my dream, out of my main field of vision, but I knew she was still around .
I again flirted with the younger one and he was responsive, so I started to have sex with him to bribe him into not telling anyone where we were. When we'd finished he said he wanted to come with us, so we let him.
Found the redhead and explained that he was coming with us, she had found a manhole cover and opened it up. (This is the bit I remember the most)There was, in it, a small ladder covered with mud (so police-dogs couldn't track out scent, I reasoned) and it lead us down into a secret web of tunnels. Again, there were still police chasing us, but I wasn't scared at all.
Now this dream has two endings: First, we climb down the ladder and manage to escape. Then the dream just kind of ends.
BUT I somehow managed to replay the last part of the dream. In it, when replayed, we all manage to climb down as far as we can go, but the ladder ends. We're unsure of how far down the hole goes. Then my phone rings and a woman on the phone tells us this manhole was never finished, that we should go back up. But obviously we can't as police are up there. We contemplate jumping... then I wake up.
This dream is sill so vivid in my head right now, so I have no idea what my mind is trying to tell me. Usually I can pick out things that have happened during the day and work out why I dreamed about it (e.g. if I usually dream about a something it's because I've experienced it already during that day)
But the only thing I talked about in the past few days that was in this dream was New York. The rest seems to have been so random!
If anyone can let me know what they think this dream is about I would really appreciate it!
