Questions and a new beginning

Hello All,

I have not visited this site in quite a long time. I lost interested in lucid dreaming for many months now and I dont induce them at will. I have approx. 1 a week. But something has made me start becoming interested in lucid dreaming again.


I want to start feeling more confident in general, I want to end some destructive and repeated thought patterns that I believe. I want to "practice" for the real world while I sleep.


This message is more of a question. Anyhow, this is my story. I vaguely remember my dreams anymore because I choose not to. I dont care much for lucid dreaming anymore but at the same time I realize that my attitude while I am awake also reflects this attitude. I think there is something deeper going on here, some strong connection. I pursued lucid dreaming with out giving up and it got me far (dreaming wise). If I can only put my focus on more important things with the same determination I had 1 year ago when I had my first lucid dream. I feel like my latest lucid dreaming had meaning. To change this attitude, I am really interested in starting to use my dreams as a way to give myself more practice, and more healing, and more confidence.

In my dream I started out by being in my apartment and doing something with the shower nozzle. Anyhow, I turn out to be with my brother. I cant yell I cant scream even though I want to. Does this happen to others, which I believe I have heard and also what does this mean?

Continuing hte story, I am able to use my blanket as a flying carpet that moves extrememly fast and move with it. This next part is kind of wierd. My brother is there and he keeps trying to follow me fly after me and as a result I try to gouge his face wiht my nails. :shakehead2: I am angry at him for some reason. While I touch his face I can feel my hands against his face. He keeps chasing me and throing stuff at me. He also takes the blanket back that I throw at him. I try to scream but I cant.

I also try to summon a girl who i met though the facebook ( a college network website, much like friendster) She turns out to be a statue after I summon her.

Next I try to summon my dad to protect me against my brother and I have a false awakening whihc I think is at the point where I encountered the flying blanket. Sorry for the out of order.

Anyhow, what do you think these mean, do you think htere is a connection between my brother attacking me and my inability to speak as an indication of my lack of confidence. This coudl not be the case but if anyone agrees I would be interested to hear your take on it.

I realize that I have a gift, the gift to control my dreams. I am not a natural but I still believe this is a developed gift.

Well, well...the student has become the teacher. Or something like that. :D

As for not being able to yell at your brother, I used to not be able to say "I'm dreaming" in my dreams without my jaws freezing up. The other night, I was finally able to without any problems. Your disinterest in LDing and I can only assume your lack of LDing itself might have made you a bit rusty, hence your dream speech problem.

Building on that, I think maybe your brother represents your gift -- your ability to LD, and your former mastery of it -- that is haunting you. You try to put it behind you, escape it, but it won't go away. You claw at it angrily, trying to make it go away. It attacks you, it wants your attention and care.

In the beginning, you are trying to adjust/fix the shower nozzle, your concentration/focus with other things besides dreaming, and your "brother", LDing, appears, because it was once a facet of your focus.

The girl turns into a statue; your subconscious mind is denying you the interaction you might have been able to achieve with lucidity, because you have in essence, turned your back on it. You try to summon your father, but your subconscious gives you a false awakening instead. You have hurt it, and in turn, it is angry with you.

You must somehow reconcile yourself with your abandoned ability...you cannot simply leave it to wither. It needs you, whether you want it or not anymore.

I have turned my back on lucid dreaming. Your accuracy seems correct.

You have definitely excelled to teacher.

As they say, if you dont use it you lose it.

Maybe its time to bring back my ability.
