      Fake Unicorn Dream

Hi, this is my first time here - i dont usually recall dreams, but last night i had a baffling one:

I was riding a 'unicorn' inside a shop, but it wasnt a exactly a unicorn, it was a normal chestnut brown horse and someone had tied a big black knitted 'corn' on his head. His reigns were way to short, and cos they were right up by his head i had to sit further away on his back than i should have and he kept trying to walk up an escalator and i kept having to pull him back. But he always did what i asked so i patted his neck and his big black knitted corn kept getting in the way.

Ive researched horse related dreams, but nothing i can find seems to fit exactly, can anybody shed any light on my fake uni?

      Thanks

I'm taking this from a book that I have called The Complete Dream Dictionary, pg 275:

"There are many stories about unicorns, the beautiful creatures of ancient mythology. These stories have been handed down from generation to generation among people of all countries, and this is a good dream to have. To dream of a unicorn means good fortune and happy circumstances will soon be yours."

Personally, I think that may be a load of crap, but if you believe in that kind of stuff there that is....

      pg. 183:

"A horse symbolizes strength, power, endurance, majesty and virility.... a man dreaming of a horse might desire virility and sexual prowess, a woman might be expressing a desire for sexual intercourse. Riding a horse suggests one is in a powerful position. White horses represent purity while black horses represent a postponement of pleasure. Horses are also significant symbols of movement/travel, transitions, messages or ambitions."

"...and we want punks in the palace, 'cos punks got the loveliest dreams..." - A Silver Mt. Zion
It was the best of times. It was the end of times.

Interesting, I was thinking about Unicorns. I have had dreams with almost every mythological creature; dragons, elves, faeries, centaurs, fauns, etc... but never a Unicorn. I was wondering about this and I came to the conclusion that unicorns are extinct, or else very very endangered. Dragons, not so much. You can still see dragons in dreams, but I don't know anyone who has dreamt of a real unicorn.

      To the OP:

What made you think it was a fake unicorn? What made you think about a unicorn at all? Was it just because it had a corn on its head?

Perhaps your subconscious is realizing that whatever a unicorn means to you is just a fake - just like the normal horse with a corn on its head. But only you can really say what the unicorn means. Are you getting some warning signs in RL?

In the dream - although never mentioned, in my mine everyone knee it was fact this animal was a unicorn - because of the 'fake horn'. Bu in my mind i knew i was simply riding a chestnut brown run off the mill horse, with a fake knitted wooley horn, and i never mentioned anything because i didt want the people there to think i was crazy in saying it wasnt a unicorn, even tho i knew.

Cacophony - Perhaps im missing my bf? ( He lives in another city)

Saratdear - Im having a bad time with medical experiences thrwing back negative test results .. i might be worrying a lot and my mins trying to put it at ease in a roundabout way..

Ok...I'll try something more with the last input you gave: (I'm just trying to relate the dream to what you said is happening in RL right now)

People in a dream are said to represent parts of yourself. In the dream, you didn't want others to know it was just a horse, either because you didn't want them to think you're crazy (as you said) OR (just a possibility) you didn't want to shatter their faith. A horse, or any animal that you ride, can be thought of as something which takes you to your destination. So...what this COULD mean is:

In RL, you somehow know that the way you are taking to reach your goal (anything concerned with your medical work) isn't the correct way - it's just a horse, not a unicorn - hence the negative results. You know this, but you don't want to disappoint yourself by admitting that you're going the wrong way (you don't want to tell the others it is just a horse)

I know all this may be wrong, but I got this idea in my head and just wanted to post this.

But the horn on the unicorn was a fake... perhaps this horse is a transvestite? O.o

It sounds like everybody who looked at you thought everything was fine - dandy even! "Oh look, there goes our buddy Stardreamer on a unicorn!" But you knew that there was nothing special going on. In fact, it sounded like you were having a hard time (the horse gave you trouble on the escalators and the wannabe penis on its head kept getting in the way). So everyone's there praising you and you're not feeling very good. But you don't tell people because... they're going to think you're crazy. What would happen if they think you're crazy? Does that mean something to you?

As this is somewhat related to similar topic to a dream I had a while back. It had a Unicorn white Goat. A Goat with a Unicorn horn in it. Also were small goat babies which I saw a few moments before. The 'parent' came about a little later to surprise me.

Maybe I could ask what this might have meant as the meaning had escaped me back then. This remembered me about that dream.

Here is a snippet of my dream.

      At the Cottage

I look and see the front of the family cottage, I'm just standing in front of it on the ground outside the terrace and entrance. I'm looking at the building just from the left of it in front. I start to wander to my right and look at the front of the cottage to look at the details of the red painted logs and the insulation in-between and see that the mice have been digging new holes inside even though I blocked some of the latest holes whit some wood branches and the like.
I wander across to the other side of the door and see more holes... wait... there seems to be a lot of extra insulation here?
I go back to the left side of the entrance and re-examine the old mice holes... Wait... There are way more holes than I remember and I look up.. damn... Seems like the squirrels have made a nest of insulation just above the door? I start to wander to my right again and see all the insulation brought and stuffed and new holes here and there. Seems they have been really busy.
I look up at the above the door and see there is much construction been done whit the insulation stuff. I walk across to the sofa underneath the main windows under the terrace... wait what do we have here? Some kind of shelf constructed? I look more to the right...
WHAT are these small animals? The size of small puppies.. It's goat children? They are in various colours between completely black and spotted and then going to white. I see about 10 goat children on top there what seems like a bed on a higher terrace here. Strange...
Where did all these goats come from? I back away further away from the terrace and back unto the dirt/sand front yard. Seems we have gotten a animal infestation?!

I see a adult white goat come from the right side of the cottage building. Seems to be after me? I decide to get closer to it and walk a bit to the right side of the front of the cottage. The Goat comes up to me to kind of greet me. It's a strange goat though... It has a unicorn horn coming from it head instead of normal horns goats have. I whips it head about. Seemed it was somewhat anxious earlier but calmed down as I got close. I petted it a little bit. Wondering what this goat was doing here.

I see that I'm not alone here when I start to look around the area. I turn my way to show my back to the log cottage and then look unto the "garden" and front yard. There is a child here and her mother I guess. Maybe some more people were. I have a vague memory my mother was inside the cottage as I was inspecting the surroundings of the door. There were some others sitting at the fire place by the benches there.

      A image of the cottage.

Maybe makes it easer to try and interpret?
