It was night but I could see very clearly. I was walking through brush with many small trees and brambles. It was very thick and the only path was a small deer trail. I love it. It's beautiful and I have this wonderful feeling of exploration. I continue down the path and come to a place where there is a split off to the left. I turn and follow this new path. I come to a pond which is surrounded by the same brambles and brush right up to the edge except for two shores, the shore I'm standing on and one directly across from me. There is a plain wooden pole about seven feet away from the water that stands about nine feet tall and the same thing is on the other shore. I walk to the water, pitch black except for a few ripples I see. I come closer to investigate and see a giant owl bathing itself in the shallows. I back up a bit to watch from a safe distance and I can see another bathing near the other shore. I watch the owl closest to me as he finishes and begins to walk up out of the water. He reaches the shore and is at least seven feet tall. I'm a bit frightened now that I truely see how large he is but I'm mezmerized by his beauty and can't bring myself to abandon such a unique experience. So I pull away to stand over near the pole. He seems to be leaving but then stops beside me and turns to look at me. I walk out a little ways so we can see each other better. He walks towards me slowly and I'm still a little frightened. Then, amazingly and wonderfully, he envelopes me in his wings. He's still slightly damp but warm and soft. He smells nice and comforting, a musty wild animal smell. I feel so loved and happy. Then he turns and leaves and I just stand there feeling so fortunate that this has happened. I look out over the lake and the other owl is standing on that shore. I can see that his eyes are a kind of eerie golden, unlike th owl on my shore. Then he turns and walks away as well.
Well, have fun with this one! :happygolucky:
