"Smothered by Ash" By Justin Petersen © 2010

I am standing on the side of an unfamiliar hill near the ocean. I am surrounded by sprawling wheat fields with oak trees sparsely scatted on the hilltop in the distance. I find myself looking at a magnified full moon that is in close proximity. The moon is bright white with large molten black canyons shattering the moons surface and bright red lava flows within the cracks. As I'm looking towards the ocean, my view becomes clouded and gray. Suddenly I realize what is happening as sound is smothered by the low rumbling of falling ash. I start to scream and wake from the dream.
