      Wandering Mind

I have two nights to record, which I will do in separate entries for ease. This last night, and the night before. This is my first time keeping a dream journal, so bear with me.

      08.20.05
I went to bed telling myself that I would wake up after my dreams, and completely remember them. Well... I did wake up. Three times. But I was so tired, I just went right back to sleep instead of writing something down, and I ended up forgetting the first two dreams. I remember I had dreams, but I don't remember anything about them :-/

The last dream, however... I was working in some kind of thrift department store. Much like Big Lots, or MacFrugals. At first I was loading shopping carts/trollys with these big blankets. They were wet, thus very hard to pick up. But I got about two carts filled. Then, things began to change a little. Instead of blankets, there were food stuffs all in the shelves. At that point, I wasn't quite sure what to do anymore.

I tried asking the two people in my dream that appeared to be managers; one lady, possibly in her 30s, with dark hair, and a large-ish man, probably no more than 40. But they were both busy, helping a girl who looked a bit younger than me, who also appeared to be a new employee.

Everything in the store, though, instead of being categorized by type, was grouped by color. I only remember the red stuff and the blue stuff.

Eventually, everything changed from food stuffs to toys, and other things. Not too soon after that, I woke up.

About the only thing I can gather from the dream is 1.) My subconcious telling me, "GET A JOB, YOU BUM!" and 2.) That I'm confused by change. Or something like that.

Unlike last night, I was unable to wake after my dreams, despite going to bed slightly early. Perhaps it was that instead of telling myself that I was going to wake after my dreams, I told myself to awake from my dreams. I guess it might not really make much difference to others, but we're all different. Or, I'm just a moron.

I do remember bits and pieces of one of my dreams, and then the full shabang of the last one. I'll try to recap the first one I remember.

I remember going to explore around this strange building near my house. It had two round towers, but looked like some sort of apartment complex. I remember the towers now that I'm awake and thinking about it, from a previous dream. In the previous dream, it was a fancy hotel. In this dream, however, as I got closer, the towers had shrunk into brick encasings for giant pipes. I knew this, because as I got closer, most of the building was glass, and I could see just about everything inside, including the pipes leading right to these brick formations. I could see at least one person, in a very, very light teal uniform with something written on the back, wandering around inside the complex. There were giant plastic pipes all over. The best I could gather was that this place was a water purification plant.

I turned around to find myself inside another building. I went back around the way I came, to find that I was in some large airport, and apparantly I had a plane to catch. So I ran toward my gate, and found that I had to leap from the gate into the open door of the airplane, countless feet up from the ground. I made it, but I remember ending up having to make this leap at least two other times in the dream. I made the second one, but didn't bother with the third, as the plane veered away too quickly, and I wouldn't have made it.

At some point, the plane turned into some sort of side-scrolling, 2d videogame. I played for a while, and ended up quitting as I got to a difficult part, and the announcer was very rude and abrasive, which hurt my feelings, so I quit ;P

I don't remember much else from the dream, other than following two people the second time I had to make the jump, who I didn't know, but felt some connection to anyway.

The other dream, I remember more or less all of.

My friend Forrest came over with a friend, to jam out. The biggest sign there, is that Forrest is on the other side of the country from me right now. I didn't recognize the friend, but welcomed him anyway.

I went in to use the bathroom, and they started without me. I could hear someone playing my drums, but couldn't be sure who. They were playing one of the songs off of the album that Forrest recorded while he was here, but I don't remember which song.

I came out of the bathroom, and Forrest had been playing my drums, which was weird, since he doesn't play drums--he's a guitarist.

I sat down to play, while Forrest went to set something up--I think his guitar and amp.Meanwhile, his friend and I began to play a Dimmu Borgir song, off of their album For All Tid. I'd give the title, but it is in Norweigian, and I don't have the booklet or jewel case in front of me right now.

I stopped to make some adjustments to my drums, and take the practice pads off, while his friend kept playing. However, before I finished, his friend stopped and went outside. Forrest told me something about his friend, I think calling him "Paul" (Which, he does have a friend called Paul, but I've never met him, so obviously it is unlikely that I would know what he looks like--It would be interesting to meet him, now, and match his appearance with the appearance I gave him in my dream ). I just told him that I figured that he went out to have a smoke.

I never did finish making my adjustments to my drums, as I woke up due to my alarm.

The biggest "Sign" I could find with the dream, was that although similar, my house wasn't set up the same. I live in the basement of this house, and in the dream it was either ground level, or (perhaps due to the house being on a hill), only one wall was ground level. The door which Paul had left is not there in my house; it was a sliding glass door to the back yard.

      Last night was rather uneventful.

      08.22.05
I managed to wake myself up after my first dream last night at about 3.00 am,and I actually got up and tried to write something down. I just wrote down a single line, rather messily as I was too tired to turn on the light, "Talking to Russ about computer stuff".

I don't remember everything about the dream, but of course, I remember talking to Russ about computer stuff. Last night before I went to bed, actually, I was talking to his girlfriend about getting him to hook me up with some of his older hardware, and she said she'd see what she could do.

In the dream, he and I pretty much just gabbed about games. He's too busy to really play any for fun (He plays FPSs in tournaments for money), but I introduced him to some 2d sidescroller* called CADEN (in my dream--I've looked, and I don't think the game actually exists). I really don't remember much else about the dream.

I remember having another dream involving my girlfriend, some time during the course of the night, but I don't remember when, nor do I remember really anything about it. I believe it was a more intimate dream.

I think I need to work on developing a more regular sleep schedule before I continue my training. I think I'm doing rather well so far, but a regular sleep schedule I imagine would help wonders. The first night I tried this, I went to bed at about 3 am, the night before last I went to bed after midnight, and last night I fell asleep around 11.30 and midnight. I need to get in the groove for school anyway, so I'm going to start getting to bed closer to 9, so I can get plenty of sleep, and plenty of time to dream.

*I've noticed a trend in the games that appear in my dreams--They all tend to be two dimensional, and are side scrollers. Not just the two that I've mentioned so far in this journal. I wonder what significance this has.

Gah. I can remember having at least one dream, but I don't remember it. I tried to go to sleep earlier, but that went over like a fart in church.

      There's always tonight, though.

I'm really dissappointed in myself, though I guess it couldn't really be helped. I didn't end up getting to sleep until after 1:30 last night, but I was busy working on my girlfriend's website... Damn this php. >.>

I had some dream, but didn't write it down, so I don't remember much of it. Of course, I didn't remember much after I woke up anyway. It involved getting broadband internet, which definitely was a good dream. I'm so sick of AOL...

I had a couple dreams last night, finally. I think I was just too stressed out the last couple nights.

      08.25.05
      The first dream I didn't remember right as I woke up. I remembered it later, and didn't write it down, so now I've forgotten it again... -.-;

      The second was interesting. I was visiting my Dad. I don't remember most of the initial visit, aside from a slight encounter involving my poor hygeine... -.-;

We went visiting someone else at some point--A girl, probably 13 or 14. I had the distinct impression she was my online friend Allie, only I believe she's 16 now (I knew her best, though, when she was 14).

She and I were watching some video, which in my dream I understood was some sort of Disney movie, but it wasn't (I'm not quite sure what it was o.o), but eventually that led into me playing videogames. This one wasn't 2D! It was actually pretty interesting. It was an action platformer. It was pretty realistic "graphic wise", but the concept was of a lighthearted platformer. You could play the game in two different views: first person, and from the side, which proved to be pretty fun, mechanics wise. You had to avoid walking bombs (much like the ones from the Mario games), and small spiked things that sort of looked like a 3-D form of the urchins from the old Zelda games (at least from Link's Awakening--I'm not sure if they appeared in any of the other games).

[edit: About 12:18 PM] I finally remembered the other dream again, about seven o'clock tonight It was very strange, and I don't remember exactly everything that happened.

I was in the mall. I was at Spencer's, getting something for my ears, I think. It could have been for my lip (I'm talking jewelry here--My ears and bottom lip are pierced).

The guy there took my shoe, for some reason, so I pretty much kicked his ass, and got my shoe back. Weird.

I ended up losing my glases (in the fight, I believe), so I spent some time looking for them (while, trying to look inconspicuous after just beating the crap out of the guy at Spencer's), and I ended up running into my girlfriend, who found them for me.

Then, at some point, I remember holding a small piece of jewelry that was threaded, much like a screw, and I stabbed into my upper lip, giving myself a monroe. I have no idea why.

That's about all I remember from that one. I think I woke up right after stabbing myself.

Had an interesting dream tonight. It sort of seems like two dreams; one leading straight into the other, but I think it was just one.

At first, I believe I was at some sort of amusement park. There was a rollercoaster that was relatively impossible that my girlfriend and I went on. It was fun.

Soon, I tried my hand at building a rollercoaster (a la Roller Coaster Tycoon), like, right in the heart of (what i think was) New York--more specifically, Manhatten. Only, this rollercoaster was meant for transportation, meant to replace some chair lift that was there (don't ask).

My dream shifted, however, to a different theme: Zombies! Someone there in NY was making these tiny little zombies. There was an army of them, no taller than a soda can. I and a bunch of other people killed them, save for one. I didn't see what exactly happened, but it somehow got inside someone's body, and turned them into some sort of Super Zombie/Vampire thing, which had teeth sticking straight out instead of down, and only needed to jab someone with them to change them, which happened almost immediately. The thing had amazingly fast reflexes.

I woke up soon after that, though. Some weird shit.

I spent the night at my girlfriend's tonight. Sleeping is impossible there, let alone dreaming, due to factors I'd rather not mention. It's not what you may think, either. We're not that frisky ;P

I had two dreams that I can remember last night.

The first, took place mostly in a bathroom. I have no idea why. But, I was in the shower most of the time. I was browsing about another messageboard (NewDoom), where they were posting a bunch of flash animations about San Andreas. One was about the Mob (using characters from SA), and another was a spoof on Tom Clancy games. They were kinda funny.

My grandma came in at some point to use the toilet, and I thought nothing of it.

      >>>

The other dream was about a couple school dances. The first was pretty uneventful, but the second got weird. I don't remember a whole lot, but I know that I left a couple times. I left once, and a couple of these assholes I know came up to bug me. They were drunk, and started puking all over the place. One thought it would be funny to puke on me. Tony Lupo.

I let him have it. I broke his right knee, and probably his nose. Later on I got him evicted from his house.

Gah. I've been a bad boy. I haven't gotten around to doing any journaling over the last couple days, mostly due to school just starting. I can't sleep as long as I like anymore... Definitely have to start going to bed earlier.

      But Ragnarok Online beckons! T_T;

Oh well. If I remember a dream, I'll post it.

I've been a bad boy and not posting--however! I have been keeping a few notes in my paper dream journal. Here's some from the fourth.

      09.04.05
I remember quite a few dreams from this night. A couple of them seem to be connected, but I'm not quite sure if they were the same dream or not.

The first one I remembered from the night, had something to do with dirtbikes. It was some movie. I guess my character either didn't want to race, or had some reason not to, because I veered off the road to hide. This other guy, who looked like Seth Green saw me take off, and apparantly had some reason to come find me. I wasn't hiding very well. I chose hiding behind a set of monkey bars to make my great escape. Good grief. I don't remember much else from the dream.

The next dream sort of led into the next few dreams, but they seem like perhaps they occured separately. Hmm. A miniseries dream, perhaps? XP

Started off very sci-fi-ey. There were these beetle lookin things that were damn near indestructable. Couldn't step on 'em. A bite from one of them caused blindness, major fever, hot flashes, extreme confusion, and the effects occured almost immediately.

At some point a bunch of scientists put one in a vaccuum chamber, and the little shit burrowed out through the ceiling and dissappeared. At this point, the dream shifted to being in my basement. I was holding a gun. The 'scene' shifted to upstairs, and my grandma was walking across the living room, talking to someone. I took a shot trying to get the little bug, and the bullet tore through the ceiling and ripped through my grandma's inner thigh. Shit.

I went up to help, but couldn't do much. I started to go back downstairs for something, and I noticed my ex-step father; he was at the bottom of the stairs, and walked around undernieth to apparantly try to slash at me with a knife when was supposed to go down. I instead grabbed a crowbar and told him to "Bring it, fucker! I'm not putting up with this shit!"

And he brought it. The rest of that dream was spent running from Brian as he tried to hunt me. At some point I ended up in some sort of sub-basement in the house, inside the walls and everything.

I had another dream that night, somewhat related. I was at what was supposed to be my girlfriend's house, but it wasn't really. I believe it was her birthday, and she, her mom, and I were supposed to go somewhere. They started to leave without me. I tried telling her something, but she just wouldn't listen, and left.

They came back eventually, and she still wasn't letting me talk to her. Her mom sold one of the puppies, and I was forced to go with the new owners to the new house for some reason. That's all I remember.

Very eventful night. To bad I didn't have a lucid dream that night...

I was tired the other night when I wrote my last entry, and didn't finish--I had another day to update for.

I don't remember exactly what night it was, but... I definitely remember the dream, because it contained my first lucid experience that I am well aware of.

The dream started out as a movie. It was supposed to be a zombie film, only instead of there being mindless flesh-eating corpses, they were friendly zombies. They went on their every day lives, just as they did when they were alive. They worked, shopped, and everything.

I remember being in some small clothing shop, watching the zombies hobble about, sorting through the racks of clothes and picking out things they liked. I left the shop, and as I left, this blonde woman, probably no more than 22 years old began walking up to the door. It showed that I was very horny that day, because after talking to her for a minute, I decided to rip her pants off and sodomise her right there in front of the shop. You'd think that that screwing someone out in the middle of everyone's way would have tipped me off that this was a dream.

At any rate, we finished and went our separate ways. I don't remember what happened after that, until I ran in to some guy who I ended up in bed with, in some motel. I must have been really horny that day. I don't remember a whole lot about the event *ahem*, but at some point we ended up being really pissed with each other, and I stormed out.

I started levitating, and a couple feet up I realized what was happening. I realized conciously what was happening--I was dreaming! All of the sudden, everything was very vivid. I was simply in awe at what my mind was creating before me, I almost forgot that I was flying.

I looked around my surroundings, looked at the grass, looked up at the powerlines swaying in the wind, I even willed a plane to fly overhead, sound and everyting!

I'm not quite sure just how long my lucidity lasted, but I just had to tell someone about my newfound ability to fly, so I went to find the director of the zombie film that the dream began with.

I soared to where he was, and went in telling him, "Ray! Come look!" And I began trying to fly again, and it didn't work very well. I could feel my body trying to rise, but my feet just woudln't leave the ground. So I just looked like a complete asshole. I stormed out, pissed off that I couldn't fly anymore. I tried again, and sort of got it, but that was when I woke up.

That was a rush. I was so excited to have had my first lucid dream. At least the first one that I'm well aware of. I hope to have more soon

      I'm outta here.

I've been thinking about this for a while, but I think I'm going to go ahead and do it.

From the first moment I was here--my post in the "Newbie Zone", I got a whopping one reply--I just haven't felt welcome here. It may have been noticed that I don't hang about here posting much, and it is for that very reason that I don't.

Though not as bad as other forums I have been to, I can look down at all the threads I've posted in, and see that I'm the last person to post in them almost every time. Do I just not have anythign interesting to say? Or am I just that great that no one can top what I have said? Either way, I just don't feel like part of the family here.

So, goodbye all. Have fun LDing and everything. I know I'm going to try... It'll be hard doing it on my own, though. Oh well.
