      Callista's DJ

I figured I might as well start a dream journal here. Generally I use Notepad, but what the heck, why not.

I'm going to color-code my dreams; lucid ones will appear in blue.

      Comments are now in italics.

I'm going to use a second color--dark red--to mark nightmares, or portions of dreams that are nightmares. While many of my dreams are violent, only the ones which gave me intense negative emotions (fear, anger, sadness) will be marked as nightmares.

      1 lucid moment

Living at the dorm. Spending time with children, I think all in the same large family. There were four red-haired boys, looking just about like, except all at different ages.

Two people, a man and a woman, came to interrogate me. Apparently they thought I was a terrorist. They let me go after a while; I don't remember the first interrogation. I walked down into my dorm's lobby, thinking my life was quite normal except for this whole terrorism thing.

Then I was taken for another interrogation and this time the man and woman were serious. They paralyzed me with a taser pressed into my back, but it didn't work, so I pretended it had. (I'm aware that a taser usually knocks you out. This one didn't.) They kept using the taser on me, and finally I pretended it had partially worked, and then just got fed up with the whole thing and said, "Look, you're not going to paralyze me with that thing; all you're doing is causing pain." (I felt mild pain at the point where they used the taser.)

Eventually I was just imprisoned and became very bored, so I snuck out of the room to go find something to do. I felt rather cocky, and acted very nonchalant when they finally found me. It is at this point that I think I had the lucid moment; I was looking down at a couch and the floor next to it; it was very cluttered and the detail level was very high. I said to myself, "Yep, I'm dreaming all right", and I looked at my surroundings, rather surprised at the level of detail and the lack of fuzziness. However, I didn't do anything about it and lucidity faded soon.

Eventually a friend of mine came in, carrying a pile of books on tape, and I nearly cried in gratitude, I had been that bored.

The man and woman also took me to see some children and told them I was a terrorist. The children shrank back in fear from me, even though I had seen and played with them beforehand. I did, however, mistake the older boy of the red-haired family for his younger brother.

Scene: my sister's room during my childhood. I was playing around with a tankful of guppies. I put them and their water into a shoe box, then dropped my jewelry into the mix as well. For some reason I also poured milk into the water; and when I tilted the box I could see the guppy (for some reason there was only one left--maybe the others had died) attempting to get around the jewelry in the milky water.

Also, a friend of mine came to say good-bye since she wouldn't see me for a month (apparently it was just before Christmas vacation). I was in the bathroom of my dorm when this happened and saw her in a mirror that is not usually there.

These will be very fragmented, thanks to my being woken up twice during the night... once by some girls handing out Halloween candy and again when we had a fire drill. Naturally dream recall is hard when you have to do something immediately upon waking. I am not, in fact, sure that all these fragments come from the same dream...

I own (in real life) a couple of blue bowls that I got at the dollar store for $1 each. In the dream I was asked by someone (male?) whether I would sell him a bowl for a dollar. I wasn't sure how much they had cost, and somehow we ended up at the dollar store, comparing bowl sizes and prices. I agreed to sell him the bowl, or he could buy one of these.

I had a huge heap of dishes in my room, so I brought them downstairs to do them. I remember seeing some of them in a sinkful of soapy water.

Walking across a rope bridge with several other people; I was the last in line and pretended that I was scared of heights before crossing. The bridge swayed and there was a gap before the last bit of floor, but the gap was small enough to step across. After that we climbed up and down things that might be called ladders; except they had flexible white plastic rungs--maybe like the rope ladders you find on a play ground. At the end of the "journey" I sensed the presence of someone who worked there (so this was a factory?) and was displeased at our presence.

I remember looking at a stove with something cooking on it.

There were two girls' names that I wanted to remember; I think they're the last of a dream sequence I'd completely forgotten. I don't remember the names; I do remember that both girls were Asian (by race) and their last names were American.

Sometime early in the first part of the dream, I became lucid. I don't remember anything else about the incident, though, and it must have faded quickly.

I helped a girl clean her room. She had this funny sort of contraption on her head, because she could store some of the information people usually store in their brains on CD instead. There was a cabinet full of CDs and some sort of device that automatically switched them at will. I think I was supposed to be antagonistic towards this girl, or maybe she started out annoyed at me; but there wasn't any fighting between us. She bragged that she had a lot of information stored.

I used the usual technique to clean the room that I usually use for big messes: Put everything in a pile, then sort the pile. Eventually the pile started shrinking. Then other people and me were bringing in video tapes into the room; and we made a big wall of them. Other people were stacking them neatly; but I just put them haphazardly onto the pile. One tape was standing on end and other tapes would have fallen off if I had tried to balance them on top of it; so I had to right that tape first. Among the tapes were "Gulliver's Travels" and "The Chronicles of Narnia". The girl was very grateful for the tapes.

The setting was a church that seemed to have been only partially constructed; it didn't have any roof yet. The setting (despite the plot) was modern, and everyone wore modern clothes and used modern weaponry.

There was some sort of a fight between Indians (the American sort) and white folks going on; and I knew the white folks had started it by trying to kill the Indians. This made me very ashamed (I'm white) so I told one of the Indians that I didn't want to be white anymore. He accepted me and told me they were OK with me joining them. I did; and eventually started running errands, trying to do various things I don't quite recall. I do remember trying to help Indians, but I don't remember how.

I remember going down to where the big part of the battle was taking place; there were a couple of trenches dug and folk were shooting at each other.

For some reason (usually I don't) I considered myself to be more of a hindrance than a help near the actual battle, since I didn't know how to fight; so I stayed a little distance away, talking to another girl who was dressed in a long skirt. I don't know which side she was on.

Eventually some people came and told me I was a traitor, and shot me in the side of the head.

Strangely ehough I survived this, and remained conscious, so I decided to play dead and hope they went away. They didn't buy it and decapitated me too. I survived this also. (Why I didn't recognize this as a dream at that point, I really can't understand.. )

When the battle ended I remember looking at some pictures of myself and other people involved in a book that had been printed about the incident. And I still don't know who won.

I was shopping, and I found some sort of program on my PDA (I don't actually own one in waking life) that could buy things from a store. I wondered if they were delivered to your house, or if you just went up to the front to pay for them. I tried to buy milk but ended up with a coupon for beer instead.

I realized I didn't have any money on my checking account, so I had to leave the store. A boy at the entrance accused me of shoplifting, because he was still mad at me for what I'd done in a previous dream (see 11/02/2005 5:00 a.m.). He led me to a salsesgirl, where I emptied my pockets (there seemed to be an awful lot of papers in them) and proved it wasn't true. She cleared me and I asked her to please tell the boy to only accuse people of shoplifting if he had actually seen them shoplift.

Then we went back into the store, and the girl offered me some sort of job. She said she wouldn't pay me, but there was some sort of a trade involved--don't remember what.

      Lucid

Tasks accomplished for the first time:
      --Flying on my back
      --Turning a light on mentally
      --Trick-or-treating

Tasks accomplished that I've done before:
      --Eating and tasting the food
      --Looking at several clocks
      --Controlling a fall
      --Prolonging a dream

I had gone home for Christmas; and the older of my two sisters, my mother, and my last stepfather were there. As usual, when I didn't do my chores quite right, he began to yell at me and put me down like he always used to do; but for some reason he was afraid to actually hit me, and when he had me pinned to the wall he slapped me so lightly that I barely felt it.

I told my mom that, "If he would just respect me as a person, I would want to respect him, too. But he doesn't."

When he left the house I went downstairs and yelled to my mom that I was leaving. "Where, outside?" she asked. "No," I replied, "Kentucky!".

I went to bed. There was a very large grating in the wall and a boy I knew was named David (I had never met him before) hid there, waiting to kill me when I fell asleep. I casually took a very large something-or-other off the wall and prepared to defend myself; but the boy didn't move. I wondered whether he was really set on killing me. I started to pray for him, out loud, hoping to trigger his conscience. I'm not sure what happened after that; probably it worked, because David does not come into the rest of my dream.

[Incidentally, I looked at the walls in my room. They looked just like the ones in college, where parts of them had been painted three times and parts only one. Interesting that I could tell the difference between a wall with one or three coats of paint!]

      --Beginning of Lucidity--

I'm not sure how I actually realized I was dreaming. It could have been a false awakening after "going to sleep" in my dream; but I'm relatively good at recognizing dreams just from the "feel" of them so that was probably it.

Still, after I stood up in my room I knew I was dreaming. The room was dark; so when I left it I turned on the light in the hall (via the switch). This reminded me that I hadn't yet tried to turn on a light mentally; so that's what I did with the rest of the house. It worked easily.

Next I tried accomplishing one of the tasks I'd seen on this forum--flying on my back--and had partial success. I tried falling backwards, then slowing my fall, which worked, except that when I finally stopped, I was maybe half an inch above the floor. (The fact that the dream was set indoors and I didn't think of changing it to fly properly could've been another problem.) However, I did manage to move in this fashion, and to tilt my head back, though not as far as to actually see the floor.

At this point my surroundings started to fade and I realized I was no longer getting any input from my senses--it was like floating in zero-g in the dark. I started experimenting with moving my body, which I could do; and then I turned the gravity back on and began falling. At the end of the fall I saw a view of a ceiling (or was it a floor?) somewhere and then I was back in the house.

Looking around the house was my next idea; I looked at the couch, the stereo system, and the walls; and I found them to be as I remembered them from my childhood. (Strangely enough, now that I'm awake I realize they were different, though only in detail rather than in the "big idea" of them.)

I saw a digital clock, and looked at the time: 3:15. I looked away, and was going to look back again; but the dining room had caught my eye and I went to examine it. I saw two clocks there: One said 2:15 (I remembered we had just had Daylight Savings Time) and the other 3:10 (only five minutes off from the first).

I wondered at this, since I had been told that clocks were often different in dreams; and these were remarkably realistic. I reminded myself to check the real-world time when I woke (I did; it was 3:40. Remarkably close, I think--though not nearly as good as when I'm awake and can tell the time within three or four minutes, without a watch. Of course when I'm awake there are a lot more environmental clues.)

I went to the kitchen to try to figure out whether I could taste dream food. I was in a bit of a hurry by this point, knowing that dreams did not last forever and I had already prolonged it once; and had had to be careful to avoid getting too excited. So I took a banana from the fridge, peeled it, and took one bite. I tasted it, though not as strongly as when awake. Texture was right, too.

At this point, I noticed I was wearing a swimsuit. Hmm, I thought to myself, this could be changed to a ballet outfit with the simple addition of a gauzy, ruffly sort of skirt... Which made me think of the second task mentioned here--trick-or-treating.

I closed the fridge and went to the front door, opened it, and found a little boy standing there, wearing a shirt that I think was supposed to be one of those cheap pumpkin costumes that they sell at Wal-Mart. I figured I could take the boy trick-or-treating; I'm too old to trick-or-treat myself, so that would make more sense.

I knew I didn't have a lot of time; so I had to figure out some way to do this before I woke up. Suddenly I had an idea. I told the boy, "Okay, we've got an all-for-one deal going today. You ring the doorbell, and I'll open the door, okay?" So I went back inside, the doorbell rang, I opened the door and gave him a basketful of candy.

"Thanks, Boy," I said (I hadn't had time to ask his name; but it felt weird to be calling him Boy anyway.).

Then I thanked God for letting me have such a cool dream, and woke myself up.

I was a guest in a huge sort of dormitory; everything was white and I had the idea I was in heaven. Someone in a mickey mouse suit was brought in all beaten up and bloody, and I saw him healed and untangled from a bunch of wire (barbed wire fence?). (Control: At first it was actually mickey mouse; then I thought it should be someone in a suit, and it was.)

      New Tasks:
      Shattering an object

      Old Tasks:
      Telekinesis

      Non-Lucid...
I was a twelve-year-old orphan in an orphanage. People would come to adopt orphans for free labor; we were asked what we could do, what skills we had that would be useful and basically treated like objects. I threatened to take off my orphan's uniform and show everyone I was no different from them. (I managed to get my top open but a friend hurried me inside before everyone saw. Apparently streaking would've got me in trouble. )

I was adopted to go to the house of a very rich woman, who treated me like a servant. Eventually I got fed up.

      --Beginning of Lucidity--
I'm not sure if I did this with an effort of will, or whether it was part of the non-lucid section of the dream; but the woman was suddenly tiny enough for me to grab and wrap in a napkin. At any rate, by the end of it I realized I was dreaming. I took her and put her into a drawer filled with silver utensils.

Then I started experimenting again. I tried using telekinesis to get a clay pot, which looked heavy, to float towards the air to me. It wasn't very successful for a while; then I stepped back and just expected it to come to me. It threw itself through the air, and I had to catch it. Very little control this time. Wonder if I'm losing it by using TK as a reality check, and having it fail during waking life?

I took the jug and smashed it on the ground; and heard thumping inside the drawer as the woman attempted to protest the smashing of her possessions, and I just thought, "Serves you right!". Then I took a second clay jug and held it, attempting to shatter it with my mind. This also didn't work for a while; but then it did. The jug shattered noiselessly and harmlessly (to me; I was holding it at the time).

Some fragments of this dream--I didn't remember the first part too well. Could be parts of previous dreams, too:
--Scooping wet books out of a bathtub, where I had been reading them
--Reading a forum, where one member had been banished.
--Being forced to leave home with a bad cough, then being given cough syrup with a LOT of alcohol in it by a neighbor. I declined her offer to "just take a swig" and took a capful instead.

I was a Jedi who had just lost a battle with a sith lord. I was held up by my wrists and then he came up and stabbed me through the heart with his lightsaber (I noticed it was blue, which is really weird because sith lightsabers are always red...). I didn't feel it but knew I was dead.

Anyways, after that I realized I was still conscious and wondered why. First I thought maybe it had something to do with the Force; but then I realized I was dreaming. I followed my body out of the room as a couple of men dragged it away; but then I decided to leave it alone and go explore the building.

I walked down a hallway for a while, then reached a stairwell and decided to try November's tak--laying an egg. I tried for a while but couldn't get anything to come out, so I tried creating an egg--my usual method, passing my hand over the place where it's going to be--and succeeded at that. I picked it up; it was dry and warm, and I could feel the shell's texture perfectly. So since I figured actually laying an egg would be difficult, I squatted down and created an egg under my butt by imagining it was there. This egg was large, maybe about hand-size, and pale-blue.

I saw a letter on the stairs; evidently my mom had signed me up for some sort of group therapy, because through the letter's window I could see, "...admire your courage for coming..." I finished going up the stairs and saw the group, all sitting on the floor in an empty room with a lot of windows. It was a sunny day outside.

I bumped into a girl on my way to the windows and told her, "I shall be available upon my return, if you wish to avenge yourself upon me; I hav been given a mission to go to the Sun!" (The advanced task, of course.)

At the moment I'm having problems with flying and getting through solid objects, and both got in my way. I tried flying sitting up with my legs crossed, since someone on here said it gave greater control; and it worked but I wobbled quite a bit. And the window was too solid to get through; I didn't like the idea of falling all that way, either. So I went to go find a door, to get outside with; but I didn't have enough time before the dream ended.

[And here we see the annoyances of having to record more than one dream a night--you can easily forget the details of one while recording the other, even if you have key words written down!]

I was exploring some caves with my sister; I think I must have patronized or embarassed her, because she left me behind at home, then left.

There were two cats at home, one which we called Parrot, who lived in a big, enclosed cage. I think they pretended she was a parrot, too.

My stepdad decided to throw us all out of the house; so I was with my sister and some friends of hers again.

We were in a room that looked much like my sister's when we were little. There was a bell, and some writing near it. The writing was hard to puzzle out (I thought "runes") and eventually we figured out it said, "Do not Ring Bell"; but we had already rung it.

The floor started shaking, and out of the floor came a shark, gigantic and white. I ordered my sister and the others out of the room. "You go, I fight."

So I decided to fight this shark; and eventually I got a good grip on its jaws and started tearing it apart. It actually worked; and it wasn't long before I'd killed it. I heard the others talking behind the door about how brave I had been and how much they would miss me (I hadn't thought I was going to win, either, but apparently they had been *really* pessimistic) so I decided to wait a while before I showed them I was really alive. Maybe that way, they'd appreciate me a little more!

I saw a mouse and greeted it. (Believe it or not, I'm quite likely to do this in real life... I also talk to trees. Yeah, I'm weird. ). To my surprise, it (he) replied. Of course, it wasn't long before the poor creature realized I was a thousand times bigger than he was and ran off.

I definitely wanted to talk to this strange little creature so I grabbed him, holding him securely and quite carefully until he stopped trying to get away. Then I asked him if he wouldn't mind explaining why he could talk... Eventually, after a little more chasing and cornering, he decided I didn't want to kill him and we became friends.

(Why do my dreams keep on throwing me back to my childhood? Sheez...) I and several classmates from my high school class were going on a mission of some sort. We'd been on one before; but this time it was such short notice that I didn't have time to bring my backpack filled with useful things, just my knife and wallet(?).

I learned that the mouse was to be a fellow agent; he had experience as we did. The last time, he had helped to apprehend a man who was carrying a hollow book filled with money inside his abdomen (through surgery, I guessed). He told me that he had broken the man's arm, after which he was captured. (I thought he must have meant causing the man to whack something really hard and break his own arm... something the size of a mouse just does not have leverage!).

There's also a scene at home where my mom had discovered the mouse; and she threw him into our bathtub to drown him. It was filled with murky water and I had to find him and grab him back out of it again.

Also (could have been completely unrelated) I remember eating cake of various sorts, taking pieces from cakes that covered a whole table. My uncle, who was sitting nearby, was amazed that I should be eating so much cake--shouldn't I be full by now?

I found three coins under (inside?) a piece of cake and thought them to be quarters; but then I looked at them more closely and saw they were from Guyana. (I checked Guyana coins out later and, while my memory isn't very good on exactly what the coins looked like, I don't think there was enough of a match to matter. Would've been cool if they'd matched though.)

      1 lucid moment? (?)

Very interesting switch from 1st to 3rd person and back in this one...

I had been choking, and there were paramedics who laid me down on a low bed (maybe an air mattress?) I became unconscious and the dream switched to 3rd person. I watched while they did a tracheotomy on me. Once I could breathe again the dream was back in 1st person. I was trying to hold my neck together where they had done the tracheotomy and I asked them how long I had been out. "About five minutes," they replied. (I really shouldn't have been able to talk.)

Not sure if this was part of the same dream; but I put it here because it was recalled at the same time:

I and many others were patrolling on a highway to try to contact aliens we had contacted before. I was in a car with a man and a woman. When we saw a flying saucer we stopped and got out. The aliens (they never left their ship, just talked from it) why we had made the mayor senile before his time. The woman, who was severely burned, replied with something that I thought very flippant and not at all true. The aliens replied with disapproval and told us they were leaving, that they didn't believe in violence. The man with us fired a pistol at the flying saucer; and the aliens replied by firing a laser back, though they deliberately didn't hit any of us. "I wonder," someone said, "Why they have weapons if they don't believe in violence?" (This was the point at which I got the idea I might be dreaming.) "I don't know," I replied. "To protect themselves from people who do believe in violence?"

After that I remember walking into a building and seeing a silver jacket draped over a handrail (I thought it was mine though in real life the only thing I own that shade of silver is a pair of gloves).

I was part of a family with a lot of kids. My mom had apparently married again, and the man had something like a dozen kids, if not more. I was also pregnant, and I think unmarried, as I was still living at home. I was forced to share my room with three other people.

I was shopping, attempting to get ready for the eventuality of bird flu. We were all there; and the baby in my stomach kept shifting position. We were shopping for meat; and we bought two entire butchered pigs. Some of the little kids were playing around with them, riding them or talking to them. I kept wondering how far along I was and when I would have the baby.

There was a black horse, still with the long-legged look that young horses have, and I held onto its lead until it stopped bucking and fighting me. After that I gave it to a young man to train.

I was in my room; and I was going nuts. A boy my age was one of the people I had been forced to share with; and I was at my wit's end so I told him to leave, and leave now, just leave me alone. He wouldn't leave and kept laughing at me. Finally I pulled my knife and used it to scratch him in the shin, just to show I meant business. His eyes got big and he ran to tell his dad.

I sighed and went to Mom, told her that I knew the knife wouldn't hurt the guy; I had been trying to get my point across, not kill him; and that it was so dull, because I needed a new knife sharpener, that even when I'd cut myself with it, it had only been a scratch. Really, I wondered if it had broken the skin at all.

Finally it was decided I had not wanted to kill the boy; and anyway, there had been two layers of sock and one of boot between my knife and him.

So we decided I would buy a tent, from my own money, and sleep in the backyard. I would also buy bells, for a security system, and keep my knife with me. It was summer (actually, as I was waking up I realized it was late fall, but I don't count that as lucidity, quite, because I was waking up at the time) so it wouldn't be too cold, I hoped. I didn't look forward to waking up covered in dew, though.

I have got to pick better key words to write down when I wake up at night... some of these I have no idea what they mean!

I'm a priest (yeah, male) for Jezebel, and when she dies I go to her father and start begging his forgiveness (for not predicting her death?).

Then I'm myself again and I'm slicing and eating some really good, crumbly bread--I ate nearly half the loaf before I ate the crumbs, took the rest and wrapped it in a cloth napkin.

      Just fragments recalled:

      --"Blessings"
--A "Book of Something" (It was actually titled that, rather than "Something" standing for a word I don't remember)
      --Having to go somewhere tomorrow
      --My sister
--One of my friends, R, helping me take care of two preemies, one male and one female. They were very tiny--maybe three or four inches long--but for some reason I wasn't worried about their survival.
--Giants that had something to do with the preemies. I know the preemies weren't going to grow into giants; but other than that there was some connection I don't remember.
      --0 to ?

I'm going to a small school as a teacher's aide, with first-graders. The school is supposed to be in Germany; but the text around (like the signs in the bathroom telling you to wash your hands, or the calendar, or the Days of the Week poster) keep on switching from German to English. I wonder if they're starting early with teaching the kids a foreign language. (Incidentally, I had no trouble reading text in this dream.)

I keep on ending up in my underwear, without pants on, or in a dress that's way too short to be decent. One time I'm topless in the girls' bathroom, and I wonder whether I'll have to explain to the little girls why I have breasts and they don't. They don't ask, though. (What's interesting: The structure of the building did not change during the dream. The classroom, boys' and girls' bathrooms, and cafeteria stayed in the same place, and I visited each multiple times, though I don't remember the exact route to the cafeteria.)

Lunch comes and the kids say we're having chocolate pizza, and I should try it. I go to the cafeteria before they arrive and get a piece (it doesn't look like pizza at all; it's some sort of confection made with shortbread, chocolate, and caramel, with the caramel on top). The cafeteria is the same one at my college; and some of the guys have whole trays full of chocolate pizza at their tables, saying they're sure they'll be able to eat it all (I don't doubt it). Other people--cafeteria student workers--are working at making more chocolate pizza. I eat my piece and it's good. Then I go to the trays, and take the layer of caramel off an entire tray of it, and eat that too. It's also good, and it gets stuck to my fingers.

I look at my luggage I brought and my clothes fall out in a chaotic mess. There's a blue dress that I remember was too tight; did I forget to pack pants?

Finally the teacher I'm working with gives me two shirts and a pair of pants and tells me to wear them. I go to the bathroom and try the first shirt--a small pink one--and it's too small for me; at first I think it will just be tight and then I realize it would be uncomfortably small. So I try the second one, a wrinkled light green one, and it fits fine. The pants also fit, though I have to struggle a little to close the clasp.

I return to the lunchroom and look at the clock, noticing it's 12:20 and lunchtime is almost over for the kids--they have quiet time from 12:30 to 1:30. I bring back a pitcher of some sort of cold chocolate drink made out of a packet with water. I tried a sip and it tasted too much of water. When I get to the cafeteria I sit down with the kids.

Not sure if this was the same dream or a later one; if it was the same one it would have happened on my way home from the school:

I end up walking home after dark; so I walk quickly. I hope I'm not on the wrong side of town; I'm in a big city and the wrong side of those can get very wrong. I get to what looks like a restaurant with its lights lit; but after reading the rest of the place's name I realize it isn't. Then I get to a place with a lot of vending machines--three roomsful of them--and just as I enter its parking lot a cop car pulls out. The cop doesn't notice me.

I end up at an overpass, looking down at more, huge, vending machines.

My parents have left me alone at home. I've got two brothers and a sister, and I'm the oldest. One of my brothers has the job of cooking two meals that week; and the first--breakfast--he does so elaborately that we have to wait forever for our food. We're a little annoyed.

      There's something about watching TV.

There's a huge table with all sorts of snacks on it--cookies and milk are the two I remember.

A week passes and our parents return home, and we have a conference in the room with the table, and people eat snacks; I look at the milk and wonder whether it's still good. There are a lot more people in the room now than were in the house earlier. I eat some cookies.

Hi Callista, nice DJ. Being semi-naked should trigger lucidity, but it hardly ever does with me Sweet dreams!
Do you seriously think that blood is the only thing in this world that is colored red?

I'm baking pizza in four ovens. I think I've got the heat up too high, since one of the pizzas has started smoking. I turn the heat down to medium. Someone comes in and tells me the pizzas are burning; I tell him I've got the heat on medium, is that all right? So he looks in at the pizzas, and they're not burning, and he's a little confused. I finish making the pizzas and my friends eat them.

I also remember doing laundry, and something about the number 2 thousand.

      5:00 a.m.

This is the first of a series of "sequential" dreams--dreams with the same, however twisted, plot--which I had last night.

There was an outbreak of some sort of disease at my college; and we and the next "sector" (about the size of a county) had been told we were under quarantine. There was a man trying to escape the quarantined area; he was in a white van.

At the time, I was fishing for "marblemouth bass", little fish that sounded like "marblemouth" when they came up to the surface. One of the fish jumped and smacked me in the face, landing on the bank. I think I brushed him back into the water; but I remember not wanting to touch him; fish are slimy and rather spiny.

We follwed the guy in the white van across town. There were bodies lying in the street, all bloody; I think he might have run them over. I was told it would take him 5:50 minutes to make it to the other side of town.

I changed a sign that said "Free Peaches" to point the wrong way; and the guy in the van went the wrong way--back into town. I then had to explain to my companion that the peaches were actually the *other* way; and he went off to get some. (Peaches, that is.)
There were sick people standing in long lines; some had orange skin thanks to the illness; among those were the Linear Guild from The Order of the Stick, a D&D webcomic. Others had turned into zombies, some of which were your usual brain-eating sort and some of which, while they had they typical gray-skinned look, still appeared to have their wits about them.

There was a lot of crawling around in the dorm; there were a lot of secret passageways also. I think I was trying to stay hidden from someone; and there were others with me who were also trying to stay hidden. IIRC, someone was attempting to evacuate the building, and I didn't want to be put into some sort of a quarantine camp.

Then I was at a military base, where I was supposed to be checked for signs of disease. I know more went on there, but I can't remember it.

[Serial Dream, Part Two... and here's where I really should have figured out I was dreaming, but didn't.]

My parents came and picked me up after a while; and the doctor gave them instructions that I was to be woken every hour during the night, for a month. I told my parents I was going back to school whether they liked it or not; I'd just wake myself up with an alarm clock.

While we were in the parking lot next to a large field, where I had been before, I made the mistake of using telekinesis near my parents, and once they saw me they figured I was dangerous. I told them, no; I can't really move anything I couldn't lift physically, so I'm not dangerous, and not demon-possessed or any of that stuff either. I kept getting interrupted while fixing my hair.

I also have a memory of walking through that field with the Dean of my school.

I used my powers to turn on three TVs when we were home, first by just wanting them to turn on and then by using TK on the ON buttons.

My dad asked me to prove that I couldn't use telekinesis on large objects; and I said, all right, find something big and I'll try to lift it. There was a nightstand; and I lifted it physically (by grabbing onto it, that is); and then knelt down, concentrated, and lifted it mentally. I had to close my eyes to do this; and I only did it twice before I was exhausted and said so.

My parents left the room and I casually flipped a pen off a desk, without touching it. My baby sister was on the bed, close to the edge; so I used TK to roll her back onto the middle of the bed; I didn't expect her to move so far, so she was almost to the wall. She started giggling, though, and I started tickling her. My parents walked in then. I don't know whether they knew what to think.

      Lucid

      Tasks accomplished:
Fly to the Sun and bring back a piece.
Zero-gravity experienced for the first time.

[This is the third part of my "serial dream". I woke up between the three parts, enough to jot down notes. I think the main reason I was lucid in this dream was that I had already had as much sleep as I needed; and consequently my brain was active enough for me to realize I was dreaming.]

I had gone back to bed and was woken up by the Dean, who told me we had to go to my "probable cause" hearing. (She meant that my parents had told my college, and the college wanted to kick me out because I used telekinesis.) Finally it dawned on me that I was dreaming. "Nope, sorry," I said, "I'm going outside." So I did, finding myself in the backyard of my childhood home (Typical. That house has ended up in my dreams so much it's not funny.)

I figured I would make an attempt to get to the Sun; so I jumped up, attempting to fly vertically. However, I found myself moving backwards horizontally in midair instead; so I looked up at the sky and started making it turn from blue to black, gradually; and found the Earth falling away below me. Things went fuzzy for a while; but I focused and brought them back. There were stars all around me; and a hazy patch where I knew I was headed.

This is my first time in zero-gravity; so I didn't know a thing about how to maneuver... I just had to will myself towards wherever I wanted to go; or even move the surroundings while I stayed still. At any rate, I finally managed to make it near the Sun. It was huge, and boiling hot; and I was already disoriented by there being no clear up or down in space. I scooped off a wisp of gas from a solar flare and turned around to head back to Earth.

This I did; but I was moving so fast I overshot Earth; and ended up in a strange sort of elliptical orbit around it. I think I must've circled Earth about three or four times before I managed to slow down and tighten the orbit enough to get close. Finally I was close enough to start a landing, which I did. I entered the atmosphere above the Sahara Desert; and suddenly everything was moving very fast, with me falling down to the ground. I didn't react fast enough to slow my fall; so I figured I'd hit the ground pretty hard (of course, I'd survive because it was a dream). I figured even if I did crash-land, I still had the wisp of gas with me... I did crash-land; but the landing, unfortunately, woke me up.
