      Darkhack's Dream Journal

Background: I've been expiermenting with dreaming and lucid dreams for a while now. I have had a couple of lucid dreams and lots of normal ones. So just keep in mind I started this journal kind of late. Also feel free to post any replies or things you find interesting about my dreams. At the beginning of each dream I will have an information box telling which dream number it is, the type of dream (lucid, normal, other) and the vividness on a scale of 1-5 as well as control on that same scale, except for 0 when its non-lucid.
      ------------------------------

      Dream: 1
      Type: Lucid
      Vividness: 4
      Control: 4

Third time is a charm! I had my third lucid dream last night although the beautiful thing was is that it was much more vivid than the other two and I actually had a surprising a lot of control in this one. It also lasted a lot longer. From my point of view the entire dream appeared to last 10-15 minutes and the part where I became lucid lasted for a good 5 minutes or so, probebly longer. I become lucid kinda late into it. It was really stupid because it was just screaming DREAM SIGN as loud as it could to me with impossible stuff happening. Unlike most people, my dreams are surprising organized and very probable. Very rarely do I have dreams where things are wacky or would be impossible to happen in the real world. Usually they are real locations with real people and very probable actions, like me riding the bus to school or going for a walk.

I was in my spanish class and my spanish teacher was there although a monster type thing was writing on the board. A big rock monster with Cyan colored skin. I sat their watching it like I was in class for like half the dream before I realized something was up. Pretty stupid of me. Anyways, I walked into the hallway which was wider than in real life and started walking down the hall with a few random DC's walking about. I had an idea that I would make someone appear. I rubbed my hands together while looking at the ground and then began to spin. When I stopped and looking behind me, their was the person I was expecting to see!!! Not only that but the vividness increased 10 fold!! Visually, it looked as real as real life. Their was no audio except for when the random DC's in the hall walked passed me and mumbled or whatever, other than that it was mute. I walked up and gave the person a hug to see if they felt real, sure enough they did. The idea of sex popped into my mind but I decided it was best I use my limited time for something else. I would have a dozen or so oppertunities to have sex and besides, the excitement would wake me up. Speaking of which, I was surprising calm through the whole dream. I was able to maintain everything without getting to excited. So after ditching the sex idea, I saw a door and walked outside to a grassy area next to the school buidling that was near the parking lot. I got a running start and began to fly!!! I tried to fly higher and farther but couldnt. It wasnt really flying so much as it was running and jumping a few feet and then gliding until I landed. I got pretty far though, like a super jump in terms of distance. I thought it was really interesting how when I was flying I saw a stop sign at the exit to the parking lot. The wierd part was is that I could read it and the letters wern't jumbled or anything. Usually dream text is random or unreadable due to the brain's memory and such of encoding that much information. Then again, its only 4 letters. After flying for a bit I woke up.

Another interesting thing I noticed was when I was spinning and rubbing my hands ealier to make the person appear and also maintain my dream, is right before it become vivid I felt it slipping and I felt my real life body. I thought for sure I would awaken when I felt my real life body but I didn't. I slipped right back into dreamland instantly with a huge increase in visual clarity.

So far this is the best lucid dream I've had. Third one so far. Even though I didn't get very high or very far, I was able to glide a few feet off the ground a pretty good distance. So I am marking Flying off on my list of accomplishments. I'll get better with practice anyway. Going to hold off on dream sex for a while. I can just as easily masterbait in real life to get the same feeling. It might not be as realistic using my awake imagination, but I dont care. Flying and having super powers is a lot better most of the time. Sometimes sex is better though.

Quite a long dream. Longer than a lot of my other normal dreams and even my most recent lucid ones. What is even more amazing is that it took place in my first or second REM cycle, which is shorter than later ones. It started with my in my school. The halls looked more like the main cafateria hall with brick walls and the gray columns going up. A fellow student that I know who will remain unnamed walks up and shows me a deck of cards. The cards say different works on them. I can't remember exactly but one of them was "friends" and I think another was "life" or something. Anyways he asked me to cycle through the cards which I did. I don't know how but in my dream I somehow knew what the last card was before it came up. Near the end I said "let me guess... last card says I'm gay right?" and sure enough it had the word "gay" with question marks around it, including an upside down question mark like in spanish but it was on the right side along with the normal one. This unnamed student who showed me the cards is gay in real life and belongs to a club called "Gay Straight Alliance". Today was group picture day and I was a student helper and I saw him in the group photo which is what I think sparked that part of the dream.

In the next part I tried to leave the building but a bunch of journalism kids who I cant all remember (but I knew most of them) blocked the normal exit and told me to use the other exit. I don't know how I knew but I already seemed to know that it was the "gay" exit and the journalism kids were laughing about making me leave that way. Not in a mean way, a very joking way. I'm straight so I don't know what the hell is up with all the gay stuff being mentioned. Probebly just that GSA group photo that I saw, but I also saw every other group photo so I don't know why that sticks in my mind, but I'll go with it. Plus the word gay is used a lot in our society anyway. People who dislike something will just go around saying "oh thats so gay" and stuff. Overall I was just realizes surprised by the dreams length and vividness so early on in the night. I started using TUILD (TheUnknown's Initiated Lucid Dream) where I use his technique of working your brain really hard and using critical thinking to help produce dreams that night. TUILD is an unofficial name for it, I just made it up, but it seems like an ok choice for a name to me.
