      Kitt's Log

Hey there! Thanks for checking out my journal. I plan to include descriptions of not only dreams, but attempts at attaining lucidity as well.

So you can tell the difference between my logs I have color coded them. [list]

Okay, last night was my first true attempt at a WILD. Although it hadn't worked I do feel I did pretty well so I'll write about the experience.

I started off in the most relaxed position I could get. I used a pillow to cover my eyes so they wouldn't move all over when I was trying to concentrate; the extra weight helps keep them in place and my eyelids shut. I then focused on my breathing, counting my inhales and exhales. After a while I began to feel my limbs loosen and eventually feel weightless. Soon afterward I began to experience an awful ringing throughout my head. This went on for over one hundred counts. During this time I also began to experience hypnotic imagery. I watched pretty shades of blue dance about in a kind of abstract painting. Upon entering the HI phase I began to get excited and my heart was racing. I continually had to focus on stifling the rapid beating of my heart, trying to remain as calm as possible. At one point my eyes and nose seemed to have a pulse, and the pillow on my head felt amazingly heavy. Soon after I got too excited and lost everything. By then I had reached my 300th count in my breathing and 30 minutes had passed. Just in case I had experienced a false awakening I decided to perform two different reality checks, to no avail.

I then tried to gain something out of the night by telling myself to "remember my dreams when I wake up" but I was too tired and lost my focus. So, although my dream recall still sucks I did get relatively far in my WILD experience and I wouldn't mind trying it again.

Next time I plan to stop my counting upon entering the HI phase. That could have hindered my entering a dream, though I could be wrong. Anyway, that's all. Kitt, out!

Totally unsuccessful attempt. I had a massive headache. Couldn't concentrate enough to even focus on dream recall let alone a WILD. I will see how I feel tonight.

Last night I focused on dream recall. I fell asleep at around 10:00. When I woke up at 4:30 a.m. I was able to remember pieces of one dream, a major improvement over my current pathetic recall. As I do not remember enough to provide an actual story I will just list what I remember.[color=darkblue][list]
I wrote down as much as I could and then hurried to the bathroom to relieve my bladder. I guess I should have tried to remember more before running off, but I'm weak. After that I wrote down what I could and went back to sleep. My next dream were rather interesting but like the previous I can only remember snippets. Once more I'll organize by lists. I guess I'm slowly getting better at this but I would prefer to be able to remember the whole dream. Kitt, out!
