Purpose/History

Mission Statment: This information is used to help understand and document the complex relationship between the material world and the subconscious thoughts of the mind. I want to do more than simply recall, analyze, and reiterate. The goal is to document my dreams in relation to life in order to possibly uncover multipart associations between the two planes of existence.

Disclaimer: I have never been good at spelling. If there are mistakes in my writing I do not mind if you point them out for I myself tire of reading posts that are not grammatically correct.

Personal history: I have yet to add any personal information about myself in realtion to dreams.
Dream history: I have always been able to remember dreams. I still remember many of my dreams as a child, and now being a teenager I am starting to remember them more than ever before. As of about February 2006, I have remembered my dreams every single night, this is not normal for me. I had experiment with the psychoactive drug cannabis before this and I do not know if there is a connection between the two but it seems there might be. I no longer use the drug for health reason, and life choices, I still have dreams every night. Could it have unlocked a part of my brain that I never used before, possible, I don’t think doing it more will help whatsoever. As of April 21, 2005 I have begun my journey to have lucid dreams and explore the mind through the subconscious, an alternative to material explorations, or at least I hope. I believe all the tools for the human mind to be explored are given to us, they just need to be unlocked, and I do believe that it can be done naturally with practice. My dreams are in color, sometimes vivid, many times blurry, no feelings such as pain are truly felt for the majority of the dreams. All of my dreams that I can remember take place in areas that I have been; however, they are mixed up in surrealist ways, i.e. roller coaster at a theme park I had been to letting out at a cafeteria I had been in that was 25% my kitchen, 25% my aunts, and 50% the common image of a cafeteria. My hope is to master the art of Lucid Dreaming in hopes of exploring my mind and mastering it in the same way a golf player masters his swing.
Medical history: So far no issues with medical history, therefore no noted medical problems whatsoever.

Dream Exploration #1 Thursday, April 20, 2006

Number of Dreams: 1
Day time dealings: During the day everyone had been talking about how they were going to celebrate 4:20, the day of smoking cannabis that started in California in the 1970’s; however, the day for me personally was much for me, it was the six month anniversary for my girlfriend and me. Most of my friends had been toking up that day, not me, I do not smoke anymore. The day was saturated with cannabis culture and common pot linguistics. I spent the later of the day with my girlfriend; we enjoyed some time together walking along a scenic bike path and relaxed until later in the evening. Later that night I was assisted by a professor with my math homework and then settled down for the rest of the night by playing a few games of counter-strike a popular fps game. Before sleeping I had a conversation with my girlfriend, took a shower, and went to sleep; this routine is normal for this period of my life.


Dream #1 (The psychoactive trees)

Awaken to recall dream at: 5:00 PM
Dream: This dream was one of my vivid ones and took place as best I can tell around 6 hours into sleep. The dream began with me and my girlfriend walking around in the rain, me holding the umbrella. The rain was not getting us wet. We were walking along some sort of street that was very urban but also suburban in the sense that it was a safe place. The next part of the dream cannot be describes in detail because it was only emotions not fluid motion. The best way that I can describe it would be that if you were to look at a slide show and feel the emotion that was expressed by the picture. The feelings included, needing a ride, wanting food, seeing friends and talking to them. After this period I was walking on a cement path that was circular in shape, and on the side was a green lawn. Around the path were trees of various textures and appearances, mostly light grey with long branches that twisted and turned. I was standing at the bottom of the path, the left corner and was holding the umbrella, my girlfriend no longer with me, it is still raining. In front of me on the top right corner is a path that leads into the woods. I walk along the path to that section and repeat the words, “the trees are going to fall over, the trees are going to fall over.” After going along the other path for a bit I head back to the field but this time all the trees have fallen over, they are obstacles for me now. From what I can remember I was trying to now get back to my girlfriends house, although I cannot be sure. I had to crawl over and around the tree branches to the right hand side of the path in and out. This is the part that a little weird, each tree had a wooden sign posted to it with the name of psychoactive drug. After going through all the trees and leaving through the top right corner of the path I am now in a world that feels like the video game counter strike, texturally. I slide down a wall and become jammed between the two slopping walls and a piece of glass. I awaken. I am very confused by the last part of my dream; it seems like a fragment that did not belong.

Dream Exploration #2 Friday, April 21, 2006

Number of Dreams: 1-3
Day time dealings: Fridays are usually days that I can relax and hang out my girlfriend, reserving Saturdays for my male friends etc. The day was normal, school business as usually and things of the sort. We did get out early this day due to standardized testing, I did not answer one question but rather simply filled in all the bubbles to look like I did it. The test counted for nothing but rather was a reflection on how well the school was doing. Nothing unusual happened during the day. During the last period of the day I was in math class with a new friend of mine, he is somewhat of a psychonaut. We began to talk about the complex relationship between the brain and the world. We talked about string theory in relation to there being several planes of thought that we would never understand. I further talked with him about the speculation of flatland and the mind. I referenced I book that I have been wanting to read by Carlos Castaneda and he told me of his attempt at lucid dreaming. This is the first time I was introduced to the concept and wanted to practice it. We decided we might see each other on the weekend; however, he is an avid user of cannabis, and I am not. I have fears of being around it, for fear that I will loose control with it. At the end of school I met up with my girlfriend and we headed to the lower section of the school were I saw my friend standing in a circle around one girl, the scenario they were talking about involved purchasing MDMA. One later speculation the participants decided the drug was not worth it. I am not involved in anything drug related and shy far from it. I am experienced with the psychoactive chemical THC however. After school I had a day with my girlfriend, we walked along our favorite bike path and met some new kids who we befriended. We had dinner at a small Japanese restaurant and enjoyed a long walk back to her house. The rest of the night we spent there having dessert and talking before I left her house at around 10:30. I came home took a shower, listened to hardcore techno, read about lucid dreaming for the first time and had what I called my first dream trip.

Dream trip #1

Method: WILD
Dream trip: This was my first experiment with lucid dreaming ever. I have tried to create hallucinations using my mind before but nothing of this style. I wanted to go straight from sleep into a dream knowing what I was doing. I was very scared of what might happen, could I be stuck in the dream forever? I got a piece of paper and pencil and put it by my side along with my cell phone as a watch. I was on my back and relaxed myself. I close my eyes and began to count, “I am in a dream 1, I am in a dream 2…” At first there was a small bending in perception in my peripheral. The sides of my vision began to move inward. I remember smiling; the experience was new and exciting. The sides of my vision were an off grey while the middle was a darker black. After this came a long period of nothing going on my vision was all black. I heard my dog whining he sleep, dreaming actually and outside was the sound of water. Slowly faces began to appear, they are not clear nor anything close to real but rather my mind wandering. The best way I can describe it is as grey outlines on a black pieces of paper. The faces are biting, what seems to be my nose, could be my third eye, ego etc. I suddenly feel slightly removed from my body as though my knee caps are above my real body. Most likely I was just really relaxed. There is unexpectedly a burst of motion on my eyes. I see the running motion, slowly I can focus in on it. It is a running creature, but more of spikes that are put together that are moving. Then it explodes in color, it is man colors constantly changing. I wrote down that it was pink, purple, and had many spikes. I try to grab onto it and bring myself into the dream, it fails. I keep counting to myself and saying, “I am in a dream 300”. Grey blocks move over the sides of my vision and I say to myself this is enough for tonight don’t go farther than you feel you want to go. I open my eyes totally refreshed. I was not asleep. I believe that I entered the beginning of the hypnagogic state. I was astonished at my experience, mind blown really. I had hallucinated on a small scale it seems.

Dream #1 (Tricks and being tricky)

Awaken to recall dream at: 4:24 AM
Dream: When I first woke up I was very confused like I usually am, I remember my dream perfectly it seemed. I looked around I remember that I had a piece of paper by my bed side. I began to think rationally again, I am supposed to write my dream down I though. I got the piece of paper and the pen, and looked at the watch. After noting the time I was ready to write but was I writing, I had forgotten the dream all together. To say the least I was upset. I closed my eyes and thought back to the last thing I remember. It came to me very quickly, I know knew the end of my dream, and it was time to work backwards I thought. I will not go through the dream backwards but rather in the order I understand it played out. It seems as though I might have mixed up several dreams into one large one because I cannot remember any of the transitions.
Sequence #1: I was at someone’s house, who I do not know. I was in their kitchen, really a mix of kitchens from my life, like childhood friends, mine, and my girlfriends. I note a fixation with the refrigerator. Everyone is smoking cannabis. I do not want to but my will is not strong enough and I give in. I feel bad in my dream for being a week person and not consulting my girlfriend before hand or anyone else. From there we began to run around the house, or at least I think.
Sequence #2: Me and my close friend are running around in my girlfriends house when we stumble across her parents room and walk inside to see at least a dozen women on the bed, we get the idea to hide in a mattress. Hiding in the mattress we sit patiently awaiting the girls to return. There is a fixation with mattresses specifically. Her father was a mattress maker is what my dream made me believe. Her father comes out of the door that is right in front our heads and walks to our left hand side. He stand there was a second and then he is not involved in the dream anymore. I remember that the blanket we were hiding under to try and be a mattress was a bed covering, the one with elastic edges. It was light blue with white stripes I am fairly certain. My friend then turns to me and says, “I am going to die”. I do not know if this dream merges with the next or the one before.
Sequence #3: I felt as though I was in a store or place that was like a large outdoors/camping store but it was more of a house or mall. People had been giving me small objects that were cylindrical. There were at least 2 people that had given them to me. My mind noted these things as “tricks”. They clearly represented actions taken to trick me. The last thing that I remember from my dream all together was being handed one of them from a administrative staff member of my school. A principle type of figure. I was on a city street when this happened.
Fragments: I looking at my group of friends and seeing them at school in a circle. I talked to one of them about something. His face was important to the dream.

Dream Exploration #3 Saturday April 22, 2006

Approximate time of sleep start: 11:51 AM
Number of Dreams: 1
Day time dealings: Today was like all of my Saturdays. I went to go work at the local computer clubhouse to work on several non-profit programs, radio, etc. While there I talked a lot about philosophy. I talked about things and people like John Cage, Warhol, and the S.C.U.M. manifesto. Later on an older DJ in the area came in and I helped make him a cover for his CD. I learned some more about business cards that I hope to make in the future. After the clubhouse I spend the day at home playing games, talking on the phone, and writing my dream journal. Most of the day I had been wanting to repeat my experiences with Lucid Dreams; however, I was very skeptical I would be able to repeat what had happened last time. The day came to and at around 11:45 when I got into bed and readied myself for another attempt at a lucid dream, my experience was wonderful but left me more confused than before. There were many things that happened to my body and my mind that cannot be explained right now. I feel like my body is fighting with my subconscious.

Dream trip #1

Awaken to recall dream at: 12:30 PM
Method: WILD
Dream trip: Anxious to repeat the events of the night before I laid down on my back and relaxed as much as possible before closing my eyes and relaxing every thought. I then began to count and repeat the phrase, “I am conscious 1, I am conscious 2…” I did not notice any bending on the sides of my vision but rather a restless mind that could not settle down from the noise of a honking car outside. Frustrated at the whole situation I tried to cancel it all out, slowly, very slowly I began to feel very tired. What happens to my mind before sleep has always boggled me, I begin to believe things are happening when they are not. The only way I can describe it would be dreaming while you are awake rather than asleep. For example I will be awake and think I’m eating dinner with a friend from school who I rarely talk to. I will then suddenly re-awaken to reality and say to myself, “That didn’t just happen.” The state of being awake with dreams went on for a little while before the strange part of the experience took place. Suddenly I felt very heavy, my eyes started to close and then move very rapidly. I know that REM sleep is not probable at this time of night, or so I believe but the best way it can be described is as though you are in REM but you are aware that your eyes are moving and twitching. The outside world faded and the noise was gone. Maybe one minute went by before I was back to a more normal reality. I cannot remember what I was feeling during the eye twitching only that I should hold on to consciousness. When it faded I stayed still and still tried to fall asleep and then I noticed it. It felt as though my hands were inside of my body. They had been on top of my legs but now it felt as though they had melted into my legs. This has to be the oddest experience with my mind I have ever had. It was as though my mind had forgotten about my hands and I now could not understand their relative position. I refused to move them, I couldn’t really move at all frankly, I just laid there frozen with no real understanding of my lower body; everything was in my head. I began to picture a Chinese man climbing an infinite amount of stairs with endless resolve. This seemed to help me. Where the vision of a Chinese man with endless resolve came from, I have no idea. I then reached the area of the experience that I had reached the night before. Before my eyes I saw large spinning wheels made of shards. They were colorful circular patterns that moved around like a wheel. They were gorgeous, tons of them moving at the same time getting bigger and then smaller. They were solid colors not changing, the best way I can describe it is like looking through a kaleidoscope. They began to fade away, most likely because I was so intent on staying awake. Nothing happens; I wait. Nothing. I give up and turn over on my side, and try again, nothing, just restless thoughts. No idea what happened but I woke up at 3:44 as though I had never fallen asleep.

Dream: When I awoke from my dream I had forgotten the experiment that I was doing before hand. I do not truly remember my dream. I am sure that I dreamt though because the first thing that I could remember when I awoke was that I had been organizing little excerpts for a newspaper similar to my dream journal. On further thought I believe my mother was in it, her role I have no idea. I am slightly disappointed that I cannot remember my dream well but I feel lucky to know as much as a do. The thoughts of organizing the newspaper clippings felt more real than dream like. There might have been a connection between my experiment and the dream.
Commentary/Analysis: N/A
Approximate time of awakening: 8:00 by a phone call, I think I lost the dream due to answering the phone.

Dream Exploration #4 Sunday April 23, 2006

Approximate time of sleep start: 10:24 PM
Number of Dreams: 0
Day time dealings: Sunday’s are the days that I laze around and do my papers, and other work for school. I spent the day relaxing playing games and working on some graphic projects for school. I did not see my girlfriend this day and the result was a deep sadness from her and a large ordeal that came from it. After this I received the book The Teachings of Don Juan: The Yaqui Way of Life by Carlos Castaneda. I could not put the book down. I read until my eyes hurt and it must be noted that I do not like reading. I got about half way through the book and was anxious to pick it up again the next morning. That night I went to bed at my normal time and began another WILD without sleep experiment. The entire night was displeasing and I have become greatly discouraged with the whole ordeal; however, I will continue to work on.

Dream trip #1

Awaken to recall dream at: 7:00 AM
Method: WILD
Dream trip: I waited longer than I usually do to make sure that I was relaxed. At first I was very anxious and needed to calm down. After focusing on my breathing for awhile I felt relaxed enough to close my eyes. My dog was breathing heavily and whimpering in her sleep. I want to remove her from my room because of the distraction to my falling asleep. It seemed to take forever before I ever started to become tired. Slowly I began to feel my body go numb and suddenly I felt as though my entire body had been placed into a box and I could not move. I had 3 intense vibrations. They were spaced apart by about 5-10 second intervals before they stopped. The only visual I was able to achieve were teal geckos that created faint patterns on my eye lids. I turned over and began to repeat I am awake in my mind, and then fell deep asleep only to be awake in two hours.
Commentary/Analysis: Waking up only two hours after falling asleep is my key culprit in my experiment because it hindered my body’s rhythm of sleeping. I had not been in a very deep sleep at all.

Awaken to recall dream at: 7:00 AM
Dream: I remember nothing of my dream. The line between waking up and realizing I had been asleep was to long, I was already moving about in my bed with my eyes wide open. Disappointed by the fact that I had no recollection of my dream I needed write nothing down. As I watched television I noticed a dog on the news. This triggered a memory, I believe there was a dog in my dream, but this may have been non-sense I do not know.
Commentary/Analysis: There was a dog in Carlos Castaneda’s book. I am disappointed.

Dream Exploration #5 Monday April 24, 2006

Day time dealings: Monday I came home from school wanting to read more from Carlos Castaneda’s, The teachings of Don Juan. I instead got home to begin playing some video games with my girlfriend. After the games were finished I picked up my book and began to read veraciously. I tore through the book almost completing it. After this I did not do any of my assigned work because I understand I would have the time to do it at school. I spent a large portion of time working on a couple of websites and posting on the forums. All of this was general web browsing and listening to music. Before I went to sleep I talked with my girlfriend on the phone and then looked up the meaning of ethnography and went into bed. I was not very optimistic after the night before. On the 23rd of April 2006 I had not been able to remember my dreams at all.

Dream trip #1

Awaken to recall dream at: 7:00 AM
Method: WILD
Dream trip: I got into bed and began to relax for a longer amount of time than the night before. I have failed to mention this in my previous logs but my stomach has been making loud noises each night. I believe that this is a direct result of lying on my back, something I do not usually do. Everything started off normal and I began to feel very tired. Over the past week I have been working on trying to clear my mind and simply be an “observer” of my thoughts. For the first time I felt like it really worked. As I closed my eyes I waited. Slowly there came a general numbness in my arms and legs and the feeling of paralysis persisted. The major problem was the fact that I could not seem to stop the inner dialogue of my mind. I find it hard to simply become a passive observer of the imagery and feelings. If I counted correctly I was able to achieve three shacking vibrations, these had become my favorite aspects of the WILD journey. I then began to see very faint hypnagogic imagery. It looked like Farris wheels spinning around on my eyes; however the sensation was short lived and quickly vanished. I felt as though I was doing a good job of being an observer of my thoughts, when suddenly I entered a state of mind that was new to me. I had been focusing on my breathing for several minutes when I realized that I was not in control of my breathing, my body was. I understand that this may sound a little strange, for of course or bodies are in charge of our breathing but this was different. Whenever one focuses intently on their breathing they tend to think about it more. It was as though I was watching my body take care of itself as I thought solely through my mind. It was a great experience, but soon left and I turned to my side and tried to fall asleep. I do not remember when I fell asleep but before I did I remember telling myself, “You will wake up and remember your dreams.”
Commentary/Analysis: Observing my body with my mind was an enlightening experience, but I feel there is much more to understand about the whole process.

Dream trip #2

Awaken to recall dream at: 7:00 PM
Method: WILD
Dream trip: This took place at 4:26. About five hours had passed since I fell asleep. Again I cannot distinguish the line of being awake and asleep and it takes me time to realize that I have just been asleep. After I awake I realize that I have no recollection of a dream, I feel as though this night will simply be a repeat of the night before. I decide to take advantage of the 5 hour time elapse and do a WILD. I ready myself by getting up for a second and then move back into bed tired as can be. I lie down and relax the same way I do before going to bed. The process and transition is much like my previous attempts at WILD’s before sleep. I kept telling myself that I am awake and that I would remember my dream when I awoke. I had the sensation that my body was falling down through the bed. It was a wonderful feeling. My excitement for a WILD to come disallowed the trip to actually occur. I began to feel as though I was entering sleep. The images and imagery I do not remember but each time I got close to entering sleep I realized how much I was still in the awake state and fell farther away from dreaming. Frustrated about the amount of time that had gone by, I turned over and just repeated, “You will wake up and remember your dreams” Every time I entered another stage I became so giddy and excited about having a WILD I fell out.

Dream #1 (Mind research at the university)

Awaken to recall dream at: 5:16 AM
Dream: The actual visual part of the dream is hazy as can be. I do not remember the scenery or the people. I do remember the feeling and one brief image. I felt good because I had done a good job on a paper. I was at an institute talking to someone about the “academic study of the brain.” That phrase was the exact phrase used in my dream. The only visual that my dream involved was the paper that I had written. I was glad to have recalled something, but I wanted more. I forwent doing another WILD but I did go to sleep another time telling myself. “You will wake up and remember your dreams”

Dream #2 (Myspace pictures turning into reality)

Awaken to recall dream at: 6:46 AM
Dream: I realized perfectly that I had just been asleep. Quickly I closed my eyes and recalled what has just happened. Just the night before I had noted that I could not tell the difference between awake and asleep but I had awoken straight from a dream into recalling. Thrilled about my recall I thought of what had happened and then wrote it down. The dream began with me looking at the web site myspace.com and exploring it. I came across a kid from my schools little brother. Let is be noted I do not believe this kid even has a brother and this kid is also someone whom I have never talked to. In my dream I was not on myspace.com anymore but rather I was the computer observing the pictures. I looked at the pictures and came across one of the kid playing HALO with all his friends. The picture is the most detailed dream image I have ever experienced. There were a bunch of kids on a couch in a room. There was a door on the left hand side behind the couch. It looked like a photo of professional athletes. There were maybe a dozen kids in the picture. They had just played the video game HALO. On the far left of the picture was the older brother sitting on a wooden chair and looking towards the camera. I believe there was another kid standing behind him. My point of view was changing; it was as though I started looking at the picture from the left and made an arc around until I was on the right looking at the picture from the side. The picture was now three dimensional. I remember having rational thoughts of at the time. It felt very real to me. Most of my dreams seem to be sped up and quick but this one was slow, it took its time. I remember feeling interested and thinking of the HALO parties that I used to have with my friends. I remember one friend in particular, mainly because he only attended once. It was then that I woke up and began recall. I am thrilled.
Commentary/Analysis: I woke up excited and ready for the day. A very positive dreaming night, the most vivid I have ever experienced. I do believe it had a lot to do with the preparation before hand.

Dream Exploration #7 Wednesday April 26, 2006

Approximate time of sleep start: 9:29 PM
Number of Dreams: 1
Day time dealings: This was a very long day at school once again. The day started off with AP composition, a class that I got every excited about in the morning. After the day progressed I worked on my homework and ate lunch with a new friend of mine for the second day in a row. We talked different things, involving video games, school, math, life etc. My girlfriend was out to lunch that day with her best friend. After lunch I had a very stressful day working on the school yearbook. I had come up with a solution to one of the yearbooks problem during the day and was able to save the yearbook from printing in a pixilated format. We kept receiving proofs that were very pixilated. It was a very proud moment what I was able to realize what was wrong. The day ended with me giving a presentation of suspension colloids in chemistry and doing a demonstration of the Tyndall effect. I used a paper cutout of a palm tree to demonstrate the orange light created by long distances of light scattering. It was very pretty and fun. After school I came home to work on my homework and relax. The day was very boring for the most part. I listened to a lot of music on my computer before heading off for bed. I was going to have to wake up early in the morning to go to my math teacher. I was wondering if the stress of having to wake up early was going to make me not remember my dream. I got into bed and tried to WILD but got only one shaking effect. I then fell asleep.

Dream #1 (The shooting star over the mountain.)

Awaken to recall dream at: 5:42 AM
Dream: I did not recall my dream at this time. It was not until later in the day that I remembered my dream while talking on the phone with my girlfriend. I was telling her about the sky and I mentioned that we had seen several shooting starts together. It all snapped in my head and my dream came flashing back to me, I wanted to cry. The feeling was overwhelming. The dream was what I call only one sequence. It was of me looking over at a mountain skyline. The interesting thing about the perspective was that I was looking down on the mountain skyline, not like I was flying but as though I was just standing above it. As I looked at it, the mountain line was dark blue and the sky was light blue, a large shooting star went behind it and I said, “Look I saw another one!” I then awoke at 5:42 only to not remember any of it. The dream was very clear.
Commentary/Analysis: I did not remember my dream at this time; I was reminded of it later on in the day by keywords, shooting star. It was emotional to remember the dream.

Day time dealings: Thursday was a very bad day for me generally. School was hard and I felt very behind in my classes. Generally I was sad throughout the entire day because of the school word load. After school I had a dentist appointment. This game me time to hang out with friend on Thursday’s after school. Before going to the dentist I picked up some Japanese rice crackers and a power-c vitamin water. Let I be noted that the vitamin water contained 50% daily vitamin b6. I know this is not a lot at all but It should be noted non the less. I felt very detached from the world. The teeth cleaning was quick but boring. That night I felt that there was an incredible work load on my shoulders. I gave in and did not do my homework. I was planning on doing it the next day at school. I truly believed that being the teenager I was, my hormones were all out of sync. Later in the night I ate three fried eggs (protein), and a yogurt (active cultures). Let it be known that besides pressure from school I had no reason to be sad. It was clear that a good night’s sleep would be vital to feeling better in the morning. I took a bath rather than a shower, and then got into bed early at 9:29. I believe I tossed and turned for a good half and hour or more before falling asleep. I did not do any dream experiments from discouragement of my inability to meditate earlier in the day. What follows is the best dream experience I have ever had.

Dream #1 (The long necked cat)

Dream: I was in a parking lot with my girlfriend, her best friend, and her boyfriend. We were talking about doing something later in the night when suddenly I was in my girlfriend room, but it was actually the room of one of my better friends. My girlfriend and I were on the floor rolling around; I remember looking down at the ground and shacking. I believe we were both laughing and having a good time. On the floor with us was her cat. Let it be noted that my girlfriend does not have a cat, but rather two cute dogs. The cat on the ground was playing with us and we were rubbing it all over. I got up for a second and looked out the window and noticed a hookah on the table. I moved over to the right hand side of the room with the cat right in front of me. I looked at the cat and said, “look is had internet boobs.” I understand that dreams are weird but this was just bizarre. The cat had a chest, and on chest of the cat was ASCII art of two breasts. At the time this notion was complete normal to me and I found it to be very cool. I stared at the cat for a long time before its head began to move farther away , its neck was becoming longer and longer and its head smaller and smaller. It then proceeded to bit my right hand, the hand that had been giving me a lot of pain lately. There was music playing in the room, it had a very Goth air to it. Another fragment of the dream was that I remember lying on my side and looking at my girlfriend. I remember that my mind told me I was stoned. I kept feeling terrible about it. I felt as though I was truly a bad person for not having the will to not use marijuana. This guilt of using marijuana has been reoccurring in all of my dreams. I then remember picking up my phone and talking to a decent friend of mine who is the boyfriend another girl who I am friends with and is best friend with my girlfriend. He began to yell at me for having used marijuana. I told him to calm down because everything was going to be ok. He then began to have a conversation with someone in the background on the phone and I began to become impatient. I asked him to hurry up. I believe that we were going to meet up with the two of them later on in the night. My girlfriend had gone out to lunch with the guy’s girlfriend earlier as a birthday celebration. In reality it was not her birthday. The dream ended hear, it was all very vivid mainly the cats face.

Dream #2 (Meeting in the forest, we must cross the bridges!)

Dream: I was at some sort of boarding school, or field trip. My entire class was there, we were all in this new building. We had to go to a meeting or some sort of gathering out in the woods and there were three ways to get there. It was night time and everything was very dark. The first was a very long bridge that went right to the woods. The other two were more to the right of the building and involved going over either a long bridge or a short one. I remember I went over to the bridges and was very scared at the thought of crossing them. I ran back to the building or whatever it was and then ran back but this time all of my friends were there. On the long bridge was a girl from my school being very loud and obnoxious as she was running on top of the divider of the wooden bridge. She was singing and dancing. I remember starring at her and thinking about how obnoxious she was. After watching her for awhile I moved over to the short bridge and began to cross it. On my way to crossing the bridge I noticed that there was a house to our left. The house had one window with a very eerie yellow light that was being emitted from its window. The window had very pale curtains. The house was surrounded by large trees. I started to cross the bridge. I was holding onto the sides of the bridge as hard as I could. I don’t know why I was not walking in the middle. The sides were made out of a brown like plastic. It looked like a spider web. I held on and then took out my cell phone and called a kid I knew from school. I had known him from grade school and we had been very big enemies. I asked him, “what should I do?” and he replied that whatever I do I must not go to the waterfall because there was something evil and bad about it. I hung up and started to cross the small bridge. It was then that I realized one of my best friends was with me. I looked over at the house and heard a little boy crying, he was very scared, I believe he was watching television. Both me and my friend had heard the crying and then shrugged it off. It was right then that I decided I needed to look down. It was one of the most beautiful dream sequences I had ever had. Below me was a stream of very clear water that was flowing. It was very dark but it reflected the moon light perfectly. It was clear crystals flowing over the ground. I then finished making my way along the side of the bridge netting. The bridge just stopped. I am saying that there was no more bridge bur rather a tall pile of geometric brown squares. They looked like the basic crystal unit. I put my foot on one and then help on to the top one for dear life. The whole structure was very unstable. I then jumped down to the ground. My friend was still making his way across the bridge. I put my hand up and helped guide his foot onto the pile of squares. He missed and fell onto his back. I looked down at him. I felt like we had just made a huge journey. He came in and kissed my cheek in a very dramatic manner as though a long struggle had just ended and he said, “its finally over.” I then told him that he, “did not need to eat more food to taste it any better”. Then he disappeared and I found myself at a round table. It was the very same table that I had eaten at on my first day of high school. It was round and made of concrete. To my right was a friend from school who was very into marijuana and to my left as my best friend and my neighbor. The kid to my right began telling a story about a time when he was high and he bought microwavable food from the store but did not have a microwave. I had been there with him when this happened in reality. Then my friend on the left looked at me and asked me if I remember the time he ate all the croutons. I said I did not and he replied, “Yes you do.” This even did not happen in reality at all. The dream ended.

Day time dealings: Friday had to be one of most disappointing days of my week. I was stressed out at school with upcoming tests and a work load that was pilling up on me. I was incredibly sad from all of the work that had to be done including an eight page paper that was to be done over the weekend. There was a lot of pressure on me for the weekend to work on the yearbook as well. I was very happy that I would be able to spend the night with my girlfriend. Later on in the day she invited me to come with her and her friends to the city, I was truly not in the mood to go to the city. Saddened by the lack of time I would get to spend with her or my friends over the weekend it just added fuel to fire. After school ended I went to the doctor for a visit about a hip/wrist problem. Nothing happened. I came home to work on my website and update some of my dream journal. I watched some television before drifting off into a deep sleep.

The whole day was uninspiring but that’s the rut I’ve been in for the last week, it all stems from an insane work load. Dream #1 (Chinese restaurants and a mound of bee’s)

Dream: The dream open with me walking down the streets of a local town believing I am on my way to school after leaving my girlfriends house. I am walking on the right hand side of the street and looking through the shop windows. Every store is a Chinese restaurant. They are all very clean and each one has its own unique color style and pattern. I look though the clean window the first once and gaze around noticing a back door in the right corner. I start to count tables and think to myself, “I can’t believe they only seat six people” I move onto the next one, I think it had a green color scheme. The events repeat until I get to the third of fourth one. The fourth one is much more than a Chinese restaurant; it is a movie theater as well. Overhead I see a large awning with red and white stripes. It was very carnival or circus like. I go over to the glass that is much like a reverse bay window. I look inside and see that everything is red form the table cloth to the walls. The table utensils are white however and I take that in a s specific detail. So far the dream seems very normal and I am intent on leaving and going to the side path that leads to school. On my way I see a very odd kid from school who seems to be involved in drugs. He has a girl around his arms and looks over at me. As he is walking away into an alley he says, “Hey look its crown, what’s up.” I nod in approval and keep walking. Crown is what people called me when I used to be into competitive gaming. As he leaved I notice that I am surrounded by people walking everywhere. I spot a kid I know from school ahead carrying a guitar on his shoulder. Behind me a sense that kids best friend. Sure enough there he was. The kid behind me starts chasing me and I run with him. We are both running along the side of the street until we suddenly run up a grassy knoll. I look down at my feet to see that there are bees all over. The kid tells me to move away slowly. I fear that I will be stung by a bee. As I walked away as slow as possible I feel as though I have been stung. Looking down at my calf I see a blurred bee bite. It is at this point that I get very close to having an LD. I stop and look around and wonder why I don’t feel it. The whole place becomes very surreal and I start to question whets going on. The kid asks if anyone has a digital camera because he would love to take a picture of the grassy hill. Suddenly my girlfriend is there and replies that she has a laser camera but cannot take it out of her house because of parents. The dream fades away and I awaken.

Dream #2 (Back at grammar school with my best friend)

Dream: From what I can remember the dream opens with me walking towards the blacktop baseball field of my grammar school. I arrive at the school and start to talk with my best friend and other kids from my high school. After looking around at the scenery for awhile this one girl who I really don’t know comes over to me and yells something smells really bad! She then proceeds to run away. I feel an inherit need to chase her as she runs across the blacktop into the school. I run across the blacktop dodging children as I go until I make it to the two doors that lead to the inside of the school. Once I get to the two doors I look around my school, it looks just like it did when I left it. All of the kids are staring at me because I am so much older. One teaches even stops and stares at me. Being embraced I turn around and head the other way. On my way out of the school I scramble past a bunch of children before being face to face to a teacher. We both try and go right, and then left, it is one of those awkward moments of who goes were. After that I simply pass him and go over the baseball blacktop diamond. At this moment I become close to becoming lucid. I ask myself why everything is so awkward. I think to myself, am I high? Suddenly rather than hearing the children laugh and sing I feel them doing it. Everything in the dream slows down and I yell to my friend, “Are you going to give me a ride or should I walk home.” He then tells me he will give me a ride in just a second. I wake up.

Dream: I am in bed with my girlfriend and we are talking about colleges. Everything seems very normal and I get the feeling that I am at her house. We are both underneath the covers and she begins to tell me how much she loves Harvard. I get very angry because I know it is not like her to want to go to a school such as Harvard. She goes on and on about how much she loved it and then runs out the door but she still narrates what her visit there was like. All this while my right testicle in my dream is getting bigger and bigger and starting to hurt. She tells me how while she was on tour she had her period and had to run to the van. Once she as at the van she had to run across campus to get some cloths but her best friend was waiting outside the van starring at her. All this time I am watching the events unfold through a window in the room. She was very embarrassed and then I watch her run across. I awaken.

Dream #2 (The great escape)

Dream: I was being forced against my will to be locked up inside of a old hut. I think it was the type of hut common in Vietnam. I was being torched by a group of people and there were other people inside the hut that I knew. I told them that I was going to go get help. I tried to escape once but got pulled further into the hut. I tried again and began running down a dirt road and then into an alley made of grass. It was like one of those old Zelda video games. I had to hide it notches in the wall before I could move own because the blue guards would see me and take me back to the hut. I made my way along the first grass maze before entering the second one. The second one had red guards that were much tougher, although I never saw either. After navigating through the second maze I made a break for it and made my way to a ledge. Below me was the “level” of my dream. I decided that it would just be much easer to jump over the level than go through it. I jumped off the cliff and soared over the parts of the maze and landed right at the finish. At the finish line there were different colored pieces of money that if I had landed on them would have received extra points.

Dream #3 (Beneath the school in the chemistry lab)

Dream: The dream began with me walking down the stairs of a friends house, that who I don’t know, and into the chemistry lab. The chem. Lab in the dream was beneath the earth and did not resemble the real one whatsoever. It looked more like some kind of spa lounge. In the middle of the room was a couch and a large plasma T.V. There were many kids on the couch and many others around my chemistry teacher who seemed to be annoyed with them and refused to give them bagels. I went up to my teacher to ask her if I could have a bagel and she nicely replied that it was fine. I was very surprised about this because I had seen that she did not give bagels to the other kids. There was a kid next to her who was winning his brains out about wanting to watch the Disney channel. He seemed to go on forever before she said that he could watch it on the plasma T.V. I turned around to look at the television and there was a Mexican family there. They turned to me and begged me to get the sound to work on television. I gladly did this and they all cheered me telling me how great I was. I woke up.

Dream: This is a very short dream, more like a fragment. I was standing at my normal lunch spot and school and looking around at my friends. I saw the names of my friends appear, and the names of the people they loved or liked come out of the letters.

Day time dealings: I had my regular day at school. I did not have any tests. I was very excited because I knew that I was going to be able to hang out with my friends and my girlfriend on this day. After school me and my girlfriend were walking home when we decided to stop on a bench and listen to some music. After a little while I heard my friend calling me from in the distance. They came over to us and joined in. WE all talked for a fairly long time before deciding to go on a little bit of an adventure all over the town. First we decided to go to this secret place on the bike path. When we got there one of my friends pulled out a bubbler and everyone began to smoke some cannabis. I refrained from the activity, my girlfriend did not. After laughing and having a generally good time we headed back down to walk over to another cool place in town. We went to what is known as the abandoned green houses. Once there we looked around an old abandoned house and explored. I had always wanted to come to these places so it was like a dream come true. My friends packed another bowl, i abstained. By now it was starting to get dark so we headed over to get some pizza from the store. We then made our way to the park were I met up with another one of my friends. After that we split of me, my girlfriend and my friend, we decide to go to his house and check it out. It was my first time going to his house and we had a good time talking. I then left to walk my girlfriend home before leaving for my home. Once home I fell right into bed exhausted from an amazing day.

Dream: The dream started off with me at some sort of bar. It was all wooden and very old looking. In the top left hand corner of the bar was the serving area. I was sitting at a booth having a couple of drinks. My friend was all with me and we were having a very good time. I started to drink another beer, and then another, and another. Soon I had consumed a huge amount. I started to wander around the bar with everything becoming clearer rather than blurred. The world in my dream started to distort and I felt myself starting to become scared. I ran around asking, “How many did I have guys, how many!” I would wobble around and see everyone’s faces. I then franticly went back to the booth and looked at someone and said, “Am I going to be ok, did I have too many.” He replied that I was going to be fine and I believed him. The whole room looked marvelous.

There was a basketball game on that night and it turned out to be very disappointed and worthless. I went to bed fairly late. Nothing memorable.

Dream #1 (The great climb and the scary downfall)

Dream: I was on a mountain trail. It was not at the top of the mountain but it did seem to be about half way to the top. How I know this I cannot say because I did not know anything about its relative position, it was just cognitive. I was kind of exploring the place with my friends much like I did the previous day on Saturday. I had the intent of getting to the top to go to someone’s cabin or house. Suddenly behind me was a rabbit in a little ditch jumping up and down. The ground was a pale dirt color with small amounts of grass. The rabbit was jumping extremely high and it looked very familiar. I think I had seen it in a dream before but it had not jumped as high. My emotion was confusion at to how a rabbit could jump so high. I watched as it went over to a family of kangaroos and began to fight with the smaller one. The rabbit ran away and I continued on my path and walked ahead of the group to try and see the path ahead. When I got far enough I looked at the trial to notice a family of bears. The two younger ones were on the trail itself and the mother was father down the side of the slope. The trail side had dry grass all over it. I yelled out to my friends that it was best that we don’t go this way because of the bears. Everyone agreed and we headed back. On the way back the kangaroos were gone and instead there were buffalos. They snorted and howled at us and then all hell broke loose. I lost track of everyone although I had never really seen anyone I just knew they were there. I ran against the side of the cliff before I decided I had no choice but to jump. I fell down and landed slowly on a small grass spike. I looked behind me to see my friend fall and land on his behind. This action by my friend has been a recurring symbol. I think he died, but I’m not sure, the idea of death never really entered my mind. I turned back to face the trail going down the mountain and made a run for it. After a bit I stopped and looked above me to see the huge buffalo staring at me with huge horns. Here is the strange thing about the dream, I as not truly scared. I began to run farther down the hill before looking up again to see a cave man with a huge club in his hand. Freaked out I jumped off the trial again and into the next tier of the mountain. Once here I gained an inherit understanding of what I could call un-earth creatures. These tall tan creatures were chasing me and I saw a picture of one in the top left corner of my vision. I never saw them face to face but I kept running away from them until I jumped down the next tier. The tier was a large planter box that left me off right onto a large grassy hill that I climbed up. Once on the top I noticed a silver flying sphere on my right. I knew that they were flying electric enemies that shot lasers and could be stopped with the use of “scanning/filtering” as I ran I made my way towards some tennis courts. The courts were surrounded by huge nets that made a checkerboard pattern. The squares were big enough to jump through. I dived through one and watched the silver sphere go right through it. In my dream I thought that maybe that would stop it because it was like filtering. Once on the tennis courts I grabbed the silver ball and headed for the swimming pool. Right before I was about to jump in and through the ball I realized that wasn’t a good idea because the creature was most likely electric. I tossed him to the side and jumped in. I started to swim to the other side. I remember the water had leaves and I think I dead bee. Once at the other end of the pool I got out and stood on the side. In front of me was another waterway, like an endless pool with a person in it. Hovering above the man was the silver ball and it began to shoot its laser at me. The laser was very slow. I jumped across the endless pool and the laser hit me but did nothing. I knelt down to the man in the pool and asked for help. I was somewhat frantic. He turned to face me and slowly I got closer to his face until I realized I was awake.
Commentary/Analysis: I came out of the dream very slowly. I could move my jaw while I was still asleep. It was a very strange experience.

Day time dealings: First day back at school after the weekend. I had a lot of work due that day and I was very worried about it. I was generally anxious hat morning for a very crucial French test that I had to take. I studied as much as a could the night before and during break. During the test I did very well and felt extremely confident I would receive the score that I needed. The rest of the day just got better from there. None of my classes were very hard at all and it was all generally coasting. After school I met up with my girlfriend and went to the French classroom to see how we did on the test. I got an A- on it and I was thrilled as was my teacher. My girlfriend did a little better than me by 4%. I was very happy for her as well. After that I had to go home. When I got home I went to my computer to play some video games and talk about Lucid Dreaming with a friend from Michigan. He too joined the Dream Views Forum. After this I worked for a while on my homework but I generally have been lacking any sort of resolve for homework. I was ready for a great dream night. I looked forward to maybe two or three dreams. That did not happen yet I did get one amazing one.

Dream: I was walking along a street that was supposedly near my home although it was most defiantly not. My intent was to get to the new drug store that had just opened up near my house. In real life I live in a very small town and the idea of a local drugstore is ridiculous. Soon I arrived at the place; it was old rather than knew but seemed to be just what I was looking for. Once inside I was joined by my best friend who was shopping with me. On the inside there were already a bunch of people. Kids were buying sodas and other items before they were going to leave for what I believe was a field trip. I remember standing at the counter and looking over to the desk workers, there were three of them. One was an older man who ran the counter, to the left of him was a woman who repeatedly said, “I hate this job.”, and then there was a younger Hispanic man to the left of her that was right next to me. I watched as the kids bought what they needed. Although I am not totally sure why I had a kind of resentment towards the kids for whatever they were doing. I went over to the window of the store that looked down towards the ground and I saw children on their way to a fieldtrip. The kid at the store soon left and it was just me and my best friend, and it should be noted that I never saw his face; we walked around the store some more before I went to the right hand side of the store to run into a kid that I knew. I don’t know specifically who it was but there was an air of familiarity. I looked down and saw and ID on the table. I asked him if he was over 18 and he replied that the ID did not work. I picked it up and tried to look at it but it was too dark and I simply gave up. I made my way around the left hand side of the drugstore were all the drinks were. I remember thinking how wonderful they looked and how much I wanted them. Instead of getting a drink I picked up a three musketeer’s bar. I then moved closer to the front desk to notice a small stand that had lighters of all sorts. I picked one up and really wanted to buy it but I knew that in my dream I had to be at least 18 to do so. Frustrated I fondled the lighter some more before heading over to the main counter to buy my bar. The older man there was slow an lethargic. I knew in my dream that I specifically had a twenty in my pocket. Before he rang it up I was already eating it. He told me to give him the money to pay for it but I could not find my money in my pocket. For some reason I did not panic and I knew that if I just rechecked my pocket it would defiantly be there, it was. I handed the man the money and placed the three musketeers onto the table. I then proceeded to buy water; I don’t know were it came from because I never intended to buy one but the man behind the counter was ringing me up for it. We started to talk but I do not remember the conversation. After a minute of two of dream time he put out two waters onto the table. I gave him the money for the water and he put it into his cash register. I believe he put some change into his third or fourth slot, this is a specific detail that I am trying to remember. He then proceed to put change into the bottle nearest him. He was actually dropping it through the cap of the bottle and into the water inside. I looked in amazement and wondered how he was performing such an amazing feat. The bottle closer to me was in my dream the good water, the water I wanted to buy. He told me that I could go now and I was confused as to why I had never received my water. I promptly protested and claimed that I need my water before I go. He was silent before saying no I did not. I looked down into his cash register to see a Susan B Anthony coin that I recognized as mine. I put my hand down and grabbed it from the black cash register box. I then asked him If I could at least have my coin and he replied it was fine. I turned the coin to face me and saw Franklin Roosevelt on the coin in great shinning silver detail. I then showed it to the man at the counter and asked him what he thought of Roosevelt. For the first time the older man at the counter lifted his head up and looked at me and said promptly, “I think he was a nexus.” I pride myself on my vocabulary but I do now know what a nexus is besides from playing video games. I found these definitions: 1. A means of connection; a link or tie: “this nexus between New York's... real-estate investors and its... politicians” (Wall Street Journal). 2. A connected series or group. 3. The core or center: “The real nexus of the money culture [was] Wall Street”. They do make sense to come degree and I astonished at this. The man seemed dissatisfied with many of Roosevelt’s actions and my dream turned into a black and white montage of Roosevelt’s life. The dream becomes very vague in dialogue but more vivid in visuals. I look at old clips of soldiers battling in word war II and then pictures form Roosevelt’s childhood. The last picture of the dream was an old cathedral that had been abandoned and had vine all over it. This had been the place that Roosevelt had died. In my dream Roosevelt did not get along with his father very well and had a very sad death.
