WM86's Dream Journal
Welcome to my dream journal. Here I will place strange happenings, mysterious people encountered, or exotic places seen in dreams. I've been dreaming since 1991 at the age of 5, and I intend to show you now and then what I dreamt of. Please feel free to leave comments if you have any.
5/17 & 5/18: I had the most terrible nights ever. Annie Parisse and Michael Imperioli were both killed off the Law & Order season 15 finale by some idiots who look a lot like Samuel L. Jackson and WWE wrestler John Cena (the one that's always rapping). I played a little SmackDown vs. Raw 2006 and KO'd John Cena in a singles Exhibition match using The Undertaker (the game says he's 13-0 at WrestleMania (that's 13 wins, 0 losses) to get rid of some of that anger. I saw flashes of jade green in that night's dream, though there were no significant characters to see.
Then the worst happened on The O.C.. After Marissa Cooper (played by the adorable Mischa Barton) died in a fatal car wreck, I was left in a sad state and was almost about to cry. I played two songs after the season finale went off, which were "Nobody's Home" by Avril Lavigne (Marissa went down) and "Julia" by Fefe Dobson (me getting even more sad), and then I went to bed...only to have two parts of a dream. In a nearby country home, I go to a dark room and find a young man dressed in a skate punk fashion. I don't talk to him, and I blank out for a couple of minutes, only to have part 2 of the dream told to me.
Part 2 was a little different. I'm in a big building in Cary, and a beautiful young woman is seen walking inside the building, but dressed in the same fashion as the boy in part 1, but there are women's accessories on her. I can remember the girl description, as she had light, wavy brown hair and hazel eyes, standing at about 5'6", and I think 126 lbs, blood type A, and born on August 31, 1986. I do remember that she had a short red shirt, dark blue baggy denim jeans, and gray and white skateboarding shoes (I think that either Vans, Osiris, Etnies, or DVS designed the shoes she was wearing), as well as metallic punk bracelets on both of her wrists. She had a striking resemblance to Kaylee DeFer on FOX's The War at Home) with the description of the girl in my dream last night. I woke up around 8 A.M. and wondered why I keep dreaming of skater-fashioned teenagers. That's happened to me since last year.
It seems that every time I watch something like a season finale or an episode where a loved character dies tragically, I get too excited, but weird dreams of skater-dressed teenagers keep happening every time I close my eyes. Sometimes I wonder what I did wrong. Sometimes I wonder what my dreams are trying to tell me about these colorful teenagers (especially girls who dress like this).
Until next time...WTGDMan1986

Today's Entry
5/28: Last night was a pain. Though I'm still recovering from the "Kaylee DeFer" incident that happened to me a few weeks back, everything seemed normal now, though on that Sunday, I watched a marathon of Law & Order: SVU, and there were two episodes where girls were the villains, "Mean" (a murdered teenager was believed to be a bully) and "Influence" (a character played by Brittany Snow claims that three teenaged guys attacked her in a public bathroom, and in addition, she refuses to take care of her medication and listen to advice from a rock star--that was the season finale a few weeks back). The thing was that the girls being prosecuted in "Mean" were telling all about Brittany, and a blood-curdling scream is heard as the young woman is hitting her hands on the door, but the prosecutor is holding her back. In "Influence", when one of the jurors reads the verdict for the deranged teenager, police are grabbing her and she is screaming, which startled me a lot. That also leads to...
...this. And for the last few days I have been dreaming about a woman with brown eyes and curly brown hair. I wonder what she wants? Is she mysteriously alluring? I don't even know her name, yet every time I sleep on the floor with my sleeping bag, she seems to be wrecking everything. Could this be Rachel Bilson trying to tell me something? Well, I wasn't going to write on Memorial Day, but hey--I'm doing it anyway... I'll let you know when more dreams come about, OK?

Patrick Flueger
5/31: The strangest dream just happened to me last night, actually. A few friends and I were at a movie theater (sadly, there was no Jun Kazama), and I'm actually writing this to sacrifice watching Law & Order: CI (I already know Camilla (Taylor Roberts) was arrested for the young musician's murder by Det. Robert Goren--he softly put her hands behind her back and handcuffed her and although she's going to be charged for his murder, it's her parents that caused the disaster).
Enough about that Vincent D'Onofrio and Taylor Roberts nonsense, let's get on with the dream. Vincent D'Onofrio and Jim Davis (Garfield's creator!) had minor roles as a Tekken 5 arcade unit was seen in the background. Some fake Japanese was heard being said--by somewhat of a girl's voice. I thought it was little kids. They were being confronted by an evil man who had a voice mixed between Jon Cryer, Viggo Mortensen, and Dennis Hopper mixed with an unplayable Tekken 5 boss from unknown origins, the unholy, HUGE behemoth Jinpachi Mishima--the stage eight final boss that gives many Tekken fans lots and lots of headaches.
The character played by Vincent D'Onofrio doesn't know Jinpachi Mishima just yet, and neither does the character played by Jim Davis. The girls being confronted by this villain were scared of the Jinpachi-like raspy voice, as their scared and trembling little voices (actually, they sounded a little like girls you'd normally hear on The O.C.--when Summer and the now-dead Marissa are shouting) rang a bell in my ears all day. It was actually a character played by Shawn from The 4400, or to make things a little easier, Patrick Flueger. I took a look at the screen to see what was going on at the time of the scared shouting, but that's all I could remember. Oh yeah, and the usher wouldn't let us in yet. Unlike Shawn, this character's hair was a bit wavier. I also couldn't remember what he was wearing, but he sure was evil.
After seeing that episode of CI again, I can still feel the effects of the dream inside me. Sometimes I'm left wondering if Vincent D'Onofrio, Christopher Meloni, Kathryn Erbe, or even Mariska Hargitay has ever dreamt at night of Patrick Flueger and lived to tell the story in New York. And sometimes I wonder if Garfield's creater, Jim Davis, has ever dreamt of Shawn and lived to tell the story. I'm starting to think that Patrick Flueger in dreams is a supernatural human being. Oh, and unlike Shawn, he was a bit more handsome like the "Families" episode of Law & Order: SVU when he had curly hair.
Now, I've never seen The 4400 before, but if anyone who watches that show on USA has any information about Shawn, feel free to post or e-mail me; I would gladly appreciate it. I really need to cheer up after this. :?

Just preparin' for an LD + a little about Japan dreams
Tonight, I'm preparing for a lucid dream by playing PlayStation 2 games in Japanese (the developer Sonic Team as usual). I think that's what caused the dream I had on 5/30/06. The last time I had a dream of a demonic Patrick Flueger, I saw a Japan video on YouTube while playing Wheel of Fortune, developed by Atari. I even tried to complete the "Normal" challenges on SmackDown vs. RAW 2006 by THQ, but all I got was "The Top of the Cell" using John Cena to defeat Randy Orton in the cage. I play Sonic Team games Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog with Japanese voices turned on NOT to see if I can get a lucid dream. I do this to show how much of a fan of Sonic I am. I didn't know the series came from Japan in the first place. As a dream expert, I've dreamt of Japan many times, but can't seem to remember where I was once I woke up. I heard it's a beautiful country to visit over on the Pacific Coast. I'll let you know if I dream of Japan again! Oh, yeah, and one more thing IF the dream comes: Jun Kazama NOT included! :)

Kristin Cavallari dream (me blaming Shane McMahon)
Last night, I had one of the most unwanted dreams ever. I was in a memory of a high school in Los Angeles, California--and one of the students, played by Laguna Beach star Kristin Cavallari was talking with a friend. A teacher, played by Ron Perlman is fed up with the girl talk and sends ALL of the girls to detention. This teacher HATES girl talk, and that made me furious  -- Shane McMahon was being blamed badly. I woke up after expressing my hatred badly towards Shane McMahon.
Then when I woke up, I was talking about how Shane McMahon shouldn't have been in that dream. I got an idea that dragged Shane McMahon and Ron Perlman into a "running gag", which is a hallmark of comic and serious forms of entertainment. It seems that every time I think of this running gag, I always end up hearing the Sonic 3 & Knuckles "Game Over" theme because Shane McMahon got attacked by someone meaner than him! :)

1st Dream of Jun Kazama in 2006
On Sonic the Hedgehog (6/23)'s 15th anniversary, the worst was yet to come. It was late at night at a cousin's house. I felt worried about a TPiR contestant. All of a sudden, when I close my eyes, I see Jun Kazama trapped under something. I failed to save her, so she commits a running gag by the trademark screaming in pain. The dream told me what to do (at the bottom of this post). No serial killers were stalking her. She just lost her balance and fell into something.
It was the classics that night. One of my childhood fears on The Price is Right, Magic # (a pricing game with a freaky design), showed up after Jun Kazama "died" in Act 1 of the dream.
Then a few days later (6/26), I am in western Raleigh (near car dealerships), late to a financial aid meeting. I wind up thinking about Jun Kazama and that scream of pain.
After that was all over, I went to a game store in Garner and purchased Tekken 5 all because of the 6th "Jun Kazama"-driven dream in my life. I won't have to worry about YouTube not showing any videos of the character losing and screaming in pain anymore. In fact, T5 comes with Tekken and Tekken 3 (both arcade ports), lightning fast gameplay on a PlayStation 2 GD-rom. Thanks to the T5 purchase, I can feel more ideas coming. This marks the sixth time that I've dreamt of Jun Kazama in my life.

Kelly Stables
7/6: On 7/3, the worst thing happened while I was watching WWE Monday Night RAW.
No, not D-Generation X) was actually telling Triple H and Shawn Michaels (IF they were poorly played by Charlie Sheen and Sam Rockwell) to screw Vince McMahon, the WWE chairman, over.
Bad news happened in the form of the "R-Rated Superstar" Edge and his girlfriend, Lita. She beat the covergirl for a women's magazine sponsored by WWE, Torrie Wilson that night by cheating.
And then came the Main Event, which was for the WWE Championship (in which a fan favorite of mine, Rob Van Dam, was holding at the time)...a Triple Threat match containing another fan favorite of mine, John Cena, hoping to win the title. Both would compete against each other and that pathetic villain, Edge (which I now think was poorly played by Brad Pitt). Moments later, Cena successfully destroys RVD with the F-U but is hit with the championship belt from behind by Edge, who pins RVD to win the title. Angry, I slam things to the ground. I load Tekken 5 and have Jun Kazama attack 23 people. Edge got away with Lita, so I destroyed them with the Undertaker in SD! vs. RAW 2006 (SmackDown! vs. RAW 2006 - PS2) before Jun attacked 23 fighters.
But that also led to another RAW fan favorite, Randy Orton (this is where the dream comes in) being ATTACKED by a teen punk girl. THIS was her FOUL attempt to kill people close to the character of Edge, who is now a villain. What I don't get is that she didn't like the RAW Diva Search, and wanted the bad guys dead so she would remain. That's foul play in my book. If I would've known better, that was Samara Morgan of The Ring--matured version of Samara--wreaking havoc on the WRONG person, and other villains in the dream. Her name's Kelly Stables. There are songs by real artists, but I have to hear them to know what it's like, though. I'll let you know if even more weirder dreams like this come...

10/28: It's been a while since I last posted (I have to work on a third book, R.A.C.E.R. 41 3: The New Generation), so I had to catch up.
So far, things have NOT been looking good for Shane McMahon in my dreams. He's been ridiculed by The Price is Right contestants (he lost a pricing game) at the behest of producer Roger Dobkowitz, had his thoughts intercepted by numerous playings of Tekken 2 in a college dorm--while nobody in there was playing with Jun Kazama, and even denounced by Tekken's executive producer Hajime Nakatani (read the credits every time you beat a game)--as well as being hunted by numerous women's organizations and being made sick to his stomach as well.
While D-Generation X may be having trouble, it seems someone from The Covenant, Chace Crawford, decided to send a message to Randy Orton, Edge, and Lita by dressing up as one of my friends from high school that they were going to be treated like the McMahons. The character of Justin Blaine is loosely based off one of my friends from 2002 to 2005 at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School (then Southeast Raleigh High School) that I don't know very well, but every time I saw him, he would always have painted his fingernails--in a Jeff Hardy-like fashion--black. In the R.A.C.E.R. 41 series Blaine is a punk-dressed club bouncer from Cary, North Carolina. Did I mention he's only 19?
A week back, I did have a dream of riding on an Amtrak with a young woman sitting across from me, but that was the second part of the dream. The young woman she resembles is Shiri Appleby, and unlike Chace, Shiri does NOT appear in The Covenant. The first part was getting new ideas for the story like the villainous racing team--and the Shawnee Smith Racing Team was the result after that dream.
And then a dream happened last night where Casey Novak (Diane Neal) from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit along with Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) were being too tough on a young woman, and the scenery outside (they were inside) was reminiscent to Jun Kazama's grassland stage from Tekken 2, remixed in Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, in which the original T5 had the dark scenery.
I have been doing well this year about making new friends at Wake Technical Community College, as well, in case you're wondering. I have to get Shannyn Sossamon's New Generation story done. I'm almost there, too.

12/15: December 5-7 was a killer. First off, someone broke the 1-day solo record on Wheel of Fortune, leading me to think that Kristin Cavallari cheated. After Kari Merchant's big killing with $122,650 a few weeks ago, the worst happens. It seems every 12/7 there is a wild card dream. 12/6 comes around, and I am in a huge house where girls are kidnapped by an evil Japanese samurai (Walker, Texas Ranger, anyone?), and here comes the hero with his sword ready to save them. I don't see the girls, but I am forced to tell everyone about Pearl Harbor at school the next day. I even add the Attack on Pearl Harbor article to my Watchlist at Wikipedia. I didn't even think of Jun Kazama at all, either.
The "Wild Card" rolls around with a blast from my past. Around 1994-95 at Henry Adams Elementary (my last years at that school--I miss it) I used to obsess over a girl...and twelve years later in the dream she's starring in a movie, and allowing everyone in Raleigh and Cary to come see it. Well, in the dream, I was on the VIP list; she must have intended to tell the bouncer that people she's met from elementary to high school sit in a private boat. It was so luxury, even Kristin Cavallari from Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County could afford it. I couldn't remember the rest since I was constantly moving around in my sleep. She's changed the last time I saw her, and that's all I have to say.
Since then, I am currently near the end of Class GT100 in R.A.C.E.R. 41 3: The New Generation, getting ready to introduce a new sponsor, Racing Team Taylor Kitsch. Now Kitsch, like Chace Crawford, starred in the recently released film The Covenant. Also starring is Steven Strait and Toby Hemingway. The villain is played by Sebastian Stan, in case you're wondering. Now I'm just waiting for this bad year to end.

Gina Gershon, Kate Mara (referees Amy "Lita" Dumas, John Cena, and Jeff Hardy)
Week of 5/13: Hope you've had a great 2007! I've recently been knocked down so many times this year--and I keep forgetting to post regularly, but no dreams have been coming...until Mothers' Day....
...which led me to think that Amy Dumas (that's Lita to you WWE fans) was trying to set Shane McMahon up...when I'm in this room with a window. At first I thought Shiri Appleby was to blame...until I see a big building (the room is shaped like a replica of my room in an apartment I live in) outside when the city government cut all the trees down. The building is actually a generator, but it seems as if Lita was arguing with Shiri.
I'm then warped to Asheville, North Carolina (which coincides with the story I'm writing) where this country restaurant has never lost its touch has some customers, but I'm sidetracked by this girl, er...young woman. It is believed she resembles an actress. Her (the actress) name's Kate Mara, but I don't know much about her. The mysteriously alluring character was supposed to be loosely based off the life of one of my friends at Southeast Raleigh High School in Raleigh--but I have so many.
This wasn't the first dream where Lita was in control. (for those of you WWE fans reading this entry, Jeff Hardyand John Cena were NOT in the dream; they were behind the scenes, ordered to protect Lita at Vince McMahon's request.) Monday, March 27, 2006 was the first time I had a Lita-driven dream. Lita-driven dreams are dreams where there are more than 2 girls with interesting attributes but with a downside of strange sceneries. If one of those two things happen with her old entrance music playing the wrong chords, then I know it's a dream with her or other girls as the subject.
I guess this came after having a hard time coping with evil things (ranging from seductive girls to a psychotic William Hurt)...and when I woke up on 5/14/07...I thought that Amy "Lita" Dumas and Shiri Appleby had actually took Shane McMahon's leg off (an idiom meaning to injure badly), and now I'm starting to think that Vince didn't cause this.
I had a feeling the dream was telling me that I would be introduced to another actress, in which she was one of the subjects on CNBC's The Big Idea with Donny Deustch (sp?). Her name's Gina Gershon, but unfortunately, I know absolutely nothing about her. Could there be a change of dream storylines? Only time decides... :p

CSU Fullerton, UCLA, UC Santa Barbara/Riverside College Students, Dreamshifter
 That's the emoticon to describe this month. Mysterious characters, strange lucid settings, everything. So confusing.
The dream debacle started in June when I was watching a WWE program and saw that Randy Orton had turned VERY evil. Well, a girl who had a striking resemblance to Nikki Reed decides she's had enough. As weeks progressed, the girl had the unique ability (a la Rebecca Locke from the failed FOX crime drama The Inside) to morph into other characters her gender in parts of California. I also remember throwing things across the room when Orton got his way, which may have caused it. Her story DEFINITELY does NOT belong on Lifetime. It should belong on Sci-Fi, a channel for mysterious creatures. Everyone in my dreams refers to her as the Dreamshifter, a mysterious character who eliminates violent villains.
Orton's attacks after a Superstar is defeated on RAW are defined as a swift kick to the head that makes people pass out, and the victim is carried out on a stretcher. The attack worried me that a woman could be a possible victim.
Come late-July, Randy Orton does the same thing to Dusty Rhodes (like other people he's claimed he's ended the careers of) when he should've done it to his son Cody, and what happens? College students at both UC Santa Barbara and Riverside (as well as UCLA and CSU Fullerton) have HAD IT with Orton in my dreams that week, so they (including former Price is Right contestants who attend the colleges shown above) show me around their campus, as I thought Stephanie McMahon (who writes the WWE's scripts) teamed up with teen drama writers like Mark Schwahn (One Tree Hill) and Josh Schwartz (The O.C., Gossip Girl) to provide a mini-story about California's most prestigious colleges (the ones described above, again...) to make me cheer up, and make all villains in WWE and TV and movies fear the youth. I don't see what college students have to do with Randy Orton's actions, but it's a road that shouldn't be taken ever again. That's a bit too harsh and just wrong. I just don't think a tour around UC Riverside OR Santa Barbara OR UCLA in dreams is the right way to go...not just yet.

James Lafferty
On 9-29-07, things took a turn for the worse. I had already had a bad week, or in my terms, the worst week EVER. While bad people on TV were parading about, things were not looking good for Camp WTGDMan1986. By Saturday, I had tried to work on a project, but poor timing struck, and I had lost it once the person's voice I tried to record lost the game badly. The result was so bad, I ended up in tears.
When I went to bed that night, I had a dream that can only be described by two things: Science fiction (think The Six-Million Dollar Man/Woman and Bionic Woman) and way out in left field. There are city buildings outside the window, and what looks like a doctor's office in crystal paneling is actually a test room for a subject. Inside is a handsome man being worked on by a group of scientists and resembling Nathan Scott from One Tree Hill, what I watch with a friend sometimes. The subject had brown eyes and hair, but the hair was longer than Nathan's clean cut through most of the seasons. The actor? His name's James Lafferty, but I thought he was mean at first. Not true. I woke up in a groggy mood and wondering about something. That was the first time since 1997 that I had dreamt of something that was way out there. Whenever something like this arises, I always quench it by doing something related to something I had got since then or earlier, like a year (usually Killer Instinct, a response to '90s fighting games).
With that out of the way, I can focus on what's important, though I haven't updated my dream journal in a while. And as for James Lafferty...go figure...:embarrassed:

James Lafferty 2nd loop, strange findings? I think not...
10/20: James Lafferty did it again.
This time, I dreamt he possessed a contestant on The Price Is Right when Drew Carey was hosting. The Showcase results were up, but a cute girl in faded blue jeans, a pink tank top and black Converse sneakers (classic Chuck Taylor hi-top, white shoelaces)--the runner up, lost the Showcase to him when it was revealed (I didn't see that part) that she went over. I believe he won, but they didn't show how much he won total. He had a short-sleeved yellow shirt, brown eyes and brown hair with glasses, black shoes and dark blue jeans. The top winner, feeling no remorse, I think tried to rub it in on the runner-up, which wasn't very nice at all.
11/2: Despite having a bad Halloween week (bad example of a funny video on an episode of America's Funniest Home Videos aired on 10/28 sparked the blaze), the dream that Friday, I thought, was too complicated to explain. I'm at a store in a mall (with lounge chairs!), and I run across this girl with natural (not dyed) red hair, blue eyes and glasses. Sitting in the other lounge chair is what I thought was James Lafferty playing a random character, but the young man was smaller (James is 6'2") than he was. When I woke up, I accidentally drove the thoughts away when I listened to a song I hadn't heard in a while called "It's About Time" by Lillix whilst I was trying to write the latest chapter of one of my stories. If I hadn't said it before, I'll say it now: I like to visit mall retail stores when I don't have class. I like going to stores such as Wet Seal, PacSun, H&M, Aéropostale, Hollister, etc. But that running into a girl part wasn't expected, either.
11/16: Remember when I was talking in DVchat about arcade games and one of my friends on campus? Despite having yet another bad week, my subconscious mind while I slept was trying to process the image of the mastermind behind the disaster. All of a sudden, I hear the "Game Over" music from DarkStalkers (first heard in 1994; Night Warriors, Vampire Hunter use this jingle), but not in its arcade form. It sounds like as if it were to be on a Sega Genesis (Editor's note: A DarkStalkers game by Capcom WAS planned for the failed Sega 32X, but it was scrapped at the last minute around 1995 or 1996.). At the end of the jingle (which played twice for no apparent reason), there's a cutscene in poor audio. Couldn't make out what it was. And then I wake up.
This dream happened because of my opinion of a NEXTEL Cup race, and I thought bad things were happening because of my opinion of who would be the champion after the Homestead race (Jimmie Johnson retains the championship; however, he did NOT win the last race).
I cannot see what Morrigan Aensland (the Succubus from the 1994 horror fighter arcade game DarkStalkers by Capcom; this game later spawned two sequels, Vampire Hunter: DarkStalkers' Revenge in 1995 and Vampire Savior: Lord of Vampire in 1997, respectively) has to do with my opinions on Hendrick Motorsports, the bad week I had, or the dream afterwards. Moreover, I'm pretty sure she's not the mastermind. However, it always seems that she comes to mind when someone mentions this underrated game series. In 2009, the series will be 15. All I'm praying for when it comes to her, is if Capcom releases a new DS game for the arcade, PS3, Wii, or X-Box 360 by that time to celebrate 15 years.
There are three words that describe this dream above: That's Just Wrong. A dream of Morrigan Aensland is definitely "out in left field". And don't get me started on dreams that Capcom is creating more bizarre fighting games...

Amanda?! Who is Amanda?
11/27, 28: On the 26th, James Lafferty struck yet AGAIN. Instead of possessing a contestant on The Price Is Right as a ghost in an attempt to embarrass attractive young females and defeat Drew Carey, he decides to plan an attack on Meredith Vieira on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, possessing yet another male contestant doing the same exact thing as the Drew Carey dream on October 20th, though the walls looked like a mansion, keeping the floor as the current Millionaire set. I don't exactly get what James Lafferty has to do with being on TPiR or WWTBAM, but if he studied real hard to be on those shows, he would be a Double Showcase Winner (come within $250 or less away from the Showcase's Actual Retail Price without going over) or win $1,000,000 with all Lifelines (50-50: takes away two wrong answers, leaving 1 right and 1 wrong; polling the audience: they vote on what the correct answer is with an electronic keypad; phone a friend: call a random friend to help you find the correct answer) intact.
1 day later, flashback to 1994. I log on to DreamViews and find a forum about dreams of seducing girls, remembering that dream incident in 1994 where I saw kaleidoscopic visuals and heard a girl groaning in pain. I had always called her Amanda since then (she appeared after the pink kaleidoscopic visual faded away). I didn't get the name of the other woman who appeared after a blue kaleidoscopic visual, however. I'd be surprised if this dream recurred again. I was 8 when I first got this dream. I'm 21 now and I'm curious to know what actress this Amanda character resembles. I'd be surprised if I find out in a later dream.

James Lafferty...AGAIN?! Stop at a whammy!
11/28: Yep, that's right. This marks the fourth time that James Lafferty has visited my dreams. Instead of attacking Drew Carey and Meredith Vieira, he decides to attack the old grounds the late, great Peter Tomarken used to host. That would be Press Your Luck, an old 1980s game show aired on CBS from 1983-86 at CBS Studio 41 (Select episodes in 1984 were taped at CBS Studio 33. It is now referred to as the Bob Barker Studio.), but, however, they were using the Gameshow Marathon set taped at CBS Studio 46, and Ricki Lake was hosting instead. This cute girl that may have won as the top winner on The Price Is Right had spins passed to her by (you guessed it) ANOTHER male contestant James tried to possess as a ghost. She hits BIG BUCKS in square 12 for $10000 + ONE SPIN in square 4 two times before losing it all to a Whammy in square 12 (when Peter or Ricki make the call of a Whammy hit, a foghorn sounds; the sound effect was remixed in 2006 for Gameshow Marathon; Peter simply says "Stop at a Whammy!", while Ricki acts more dramatic, adding the "Oh no!" line whilst the studio audience groans followed by "You stopped at a Whammy!" before an animation plays that mocks the player and right before the Whammy cards (4 total) pop up; hit 4 and you're out of the game), where the BIG BUCKS square is also located (there are 18 squares lined up in a big square up to down, left to right and 3 square values, cash, prizes, or a "whammy" that bankrupts you for a total of 54 slides that flashed in random order while the light bounced from one square to another while beeping noises were heard; the show is known for its famous battle cry from many contestants of "Big Bucks, No Whammies!" whilst their face was being shown in the middle of the screen during their spins). I didn't see the whammy animation (animation could have been a weightlifter, Cyndi Lauper, Boy George, Michael Jackson, etc.); I woke up at 2 in the morning, not realizing that I had slept on the couch for too long.
Just WHY is he testing his new power of becoming invisible in my dreams and possessing a young male contestant to wreak havoc on attractive young females who play these game shows at CBS Television City? (and for the record, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire is NOT filmed there; it's filmed in a studio in New York) Maybe the dream's telling me he'd like to go on The Price Is Right and try to win both Showcases? Or maybe win a new car? I'll never know the answer to that for a while.
-
James Lafferty...the undisputed king of game shows?
12/12: I guess I'll never even see what James Lafferty has to do with winning on game shows. He attacked The Price Is Right and Drew Carey again!
Instead of being the top winner, the contestant he possessed was the runner-up, and HE won both Showcases! Except I was placed in a random house in California with a friend watching the possible 5th DSW (which happened 3 days ago in 2008). When a player is a Double Showcase Winner, and either Bob Barker or Drew Carey announces the difference (as there's a $250 or less difference), more than 300 people are on their feet cheering and screaming loudly as usual; an example is the 35th season (also Barker's last) opener and Drew Carey's first DSW show on 11/1/07. My subconscious mind said that James Lafferty can only win on game shows five times; the exception was that CBS game shows can be played again if he didn't like the outcome.
I don't see how blaming Shane McMahon for a violent episode of Criminal Minds where something vicious happens leads to him being defeated when James Lafferty scores the DSW (clangs and klaxons go off when someone's within $250 of the Actual Retail Price of his/her Showcase) when I went to bed that night.
I swear comedy legend Carol Burnett's the one directing these game show dreams involving James winning big! I guess CBS tried to take back all the violence and try to make me laugh. It seems that every time I watch The Price Is Right, there's an unexpected DSW (that's an abbreviation for Double Showcase Winner) now and then. Now I'm waiting for dreams when James Lafferty will stop cheating by possessing contestants and play game shows at CBS Television City for real...HE could be the 6th Double Showcase Winner of the Drew Carey Era of The Price Is Right! :D

Scott Michael Foster, UC Santa Barbara...AGAIN?!
3/4: After having a bad day (Nathan and Haley breaking up on One Tree Hill, cute girl winning the Showcase on The Price Is Right), all I could remember was a teen scene: the road trip and loud college rock music playing in D minor. I saw something that looked like a preview of an episode.
3/8, 13: The next dream made no sense, as it showed me around some parts of Illinois. The one on 3/13 tried to show me around California with some references to the show Greek on ABC Family, but it went too fast.
3/18: The kid (he's born in 1985) teamed up with James Lafferty (also born in 1985) to appear in a dream involving University of California-Santa Barbara like the 7/29/07 dream I had after getting upset with what happened that day. That led to a dream where I was going on a tour of some of the most beautiful colleges in California, but this was split into three acts. Acts 1 and 2 were a tour of UCSB, and it didn't make much sense. In all of these dreams this month, there's always been a young man with I think green eyes and brown hair. His name's Scott Michael Foster, and I've heard so much about him. He plays on shows Greek on ABC Family and quarterlife on NBC, but that was canceled after one episode. In act 3 last night, Scott and James were characters playing students at UCSB playing a mock Price Is Right for a business class. James and Scott's characters made it to the Showcase (that's what I think it is)...and Scott's character wound up going over. James did too (this is called a Double Overbid; in other words, neither player wins their Showcase), but the host, another student at UCSB dressed as either Bob or Drew (but wearing sandals!), misread the Actual Retail Price of James' character's Showcase; instead, he read $2,243 instead of $22,243. I can't remember how much they bid, however. I think my dream was telling me never to forget the 4/2/07 episode of The Price Is Right where a contestant from that same campus won a kitchen group, $1,000 in the Showcase Showdown and a 2007 Dodge Nitro in the Showcase. He came within nearly $800 of the Actual Retail Price of his Showcase to walk away the big winner on his taping with $37,995 on Bob Barker's last season (season 35). If he did that well on the Million Dollar Spectacular, Drew Carey version, he'd not only be a Double Showcase Winner, but he'd also win $1,000,000!
Now I'm starting to think that both James Lafferty and Scott Michael Foster are trying to bet who can appear in my dreams the most playing the most wackiest characters that not even Drew Carey or Carol Burnett could come up with, taunting each other and trying to see who can make the better impact. That might have been one of the funnest dreams I might have had in a while (in fact, ANY dream involving The Price Is Right guarantees fun 99.9% of the time). I might have learned something else, too: if anything in life goes horribly wrong, just have a positive attitude. I'm not sure if The Price Is Right teaches viewers to have a positive attitude in life, no matter what the problem may be. I just might stick to that... :boogie:

The dreaded shopping mall dream
5/30: Well, it's happened again. It seems every even year on this date, the most wildest lucid dreams have happened, starting with 2006. However, this time, it was an incarnation of a dream I had in November of last year--the shopping mall, but it was another one in California, with some dark blue and orange hues.
Earlier this week I had gotten worried about the number of deaths caused on Memorial Day weekend in Los Angeles. Somehow I kept thinking that in one incident, a former contestant on The Price Is Right was involved in a fatal accident near Laurel Canyon or in Cathedral City, and on Friday, I thought that a young actor (youngest cast member from Seasons 1-4) was involved in the plane crash in Riverside County, killing 2 in an 'experimental' plane. Maybe my dream was trying to tell me that I should stop reading these harrowing news stories--and telling me that they loved shopping in malls like me and they weren't involved in those news stories as to what I was thinking? (one report on CBS 2--the Los Angeles affiliate of CBS--quelled my fear, saying in a video that there were two women in their 40s involved in an SUV rollover (whereas the text said a woman in her 20s) that also caused a man in his 70s to sustain fatal injuries as well, and I was terrified all this week because of all of these bad things happening to L.A. It's one of my favorite towns ever... :) (sorry about sounding like a girl when I said that))
Back to the dream: so I was walking inside the mall with a friend--like always, it was jam-packed in the usual California shopping mall (was it in inner Los Angeles? Covina? Hemet? Mission Viejo? Riverside?) shopping for
a lot of stuff you'd need to survive California life. Some were more in the "wants" category rather than the "needs" category, though.
This is a much better dream than the one 2 years ago with the movie theater, and I thought a character played by Patrick Flueger (an antagonist) was making life a nightmare for two female protagonists, as I thought that day when I posted in this Dream Journal.
Those days are long gone since 12/7/06, as I thought a dream figure resembling a friend from my past life I'd rather not mention (1994-95 year of my childhood) killed off a demon that's been there since 2003 wreaking havoc everywhere I went in dreams, never to be seen again.
I really don't mind about California dreams--they almost as always happen almost all the time! :boogie:I love hearing about Hollywood, Los Angeles, Covina, Los Gatos, San Diego, Monterey, Santa Cruz, and Hemet (seeing that I lived in Salinas at one point). And then again, I'm a L.A. Lakers (one of 2 teams from Los Angeles--the other is the Clippers) fan when it comes to the NBA. They just--in a crucial Game 5--destroyed the 2007 defending champs San Antonio Spurs (another favorite team of mine) 100-92 to face the Boston Celtics (another favorite team of mine again) in the NBA Finals next month, a rivalry from the '80s that I didn't even know about when I was born. I'm 22 now and I think I can understand. Now if we can only get the NBA back on NBC...
Maybe that dream I had last night was a refresher and a reminder to me just to love California the way it is, despite what the media may think about Orange County. Once again, I'll stick with that, whatever the lesson in California dreams may be! :D:boogie:

Leighton Meester
6/25: Wow. After seeing an episode of The Price Is Right Million-Dollar Spectacular I had gotten upset about when the episode first aired on 5/7/08 (a Wednesday), I smiled when it re-aired last night. $120,000+ won including the Showcase (it's the show in the 2nd batch; you must come within $500 of the actual retail price of your own Showcase to win both of them and $1,000,000). The young woman who won all those prizes doesn't even have to worry when tax day comes...yeah. :P
The happy moment disappeared when I tried to record (using a microphone and Sound Recorder) an Illinois real estate agent on Deal or No Deal trying to close a deal at $28,000+ when it (the microphone) semi-died.
I went to bed that night...at nearly 2 A.M. in the morning! What looks like a mixture between Regis and Kelly's talk show and Rachael Ray's in the mornings is the scene for yet another lucid (3rd since Scott Michael Foster dream on 3/4/08) and a young woman I think is my age (I'm 22) with brown eyes and brown hair is talking about her life and rumors speculating about in show biz. It seemed as if everyone in the audience in the dream was looking straight at her like she was the cutest little thing--even celebrities in the audience people were supposed to spot at the start of the show, like [COLOR=DimGray]Dustin Hoffman and Drew Carey, for example. She was talking about all sorts of things like most stars would do on morning talk shows. But here's the thing: When she tried to fix her hair, the set would get brighter and brighter. It's like everyone had fallen under her dream character's spell. I'm getting shy as I write this...it seems as if this dream was delicate and fragile. Is this Live with Regis and Kelly mixed with Rachael Ray or is this a deleted scene from Gossip Girl?! DECIDE ALREADY!! :rolllaugh:
I couldn't control myself when I got up in the morning to watch The Price Is Right, either. There were two times when announcer Rich Fields was laughing audibly: one coming from a commercial break, and the other when Drew found out Rich stumbled on a prize copy (The One-Bid item was a refrigerator but he had the wrong prize copy and said a digital piano), and Drew thought they were going to edit it out. Instead, the camera cuts to Rich Fields laughing and saying "DARN!". All I could think about was that girl in my dream while laughing and bearing it. I couldn't even pay attention to what Wink Martindale was saying on Tic Tac Dough (early '80s) or even what Pat Sajak was saying on Wheel of Fortune (1994-1995 season) because of her.
The other two should have seen this coming from a mile away. The actress? Her name's Leighton Meester --and before I burst out into uncontrollable laughter, let me just say she plays the villainous character of Blair Waldorf on the CW show Gossip Girl. I feel so embarrassed writing this as much as I feel like laughing uncontrollably.
That's also the second time this year a dream character has appeared as a leading role in my dreams. It's obvious I don't ask for any dream characters' names in fear they might go haywire or other unwanted results. Wow... :boogie::upsidedown: :rolllaugh:
But why did I HAVE to dream of her? Was it something about her I needed to know? That I'll never know. :P

Azalea? Who is Azalea?
Week of 8/13: Remind me again why I'm not supposed to watch any of the Poison Ivy films on Lifetime? I did that a month ago, and look what happened? I wind up dreaming of what's going on in one of the main villains' minds (the villain in turn is from Poison Ivy 4: The Secret Society)--and it's the leader of the secret society in an East Coast college that virtually owns the campus.
Had I not snooped in to watch the flick on Lifetime's "Pick Your Poison" (where three of the Poison Ivy flicks (the first one with Drew Barrymore as the villain, Lily starring Alyssa Milano, and the recent one as described above, but aimed at college kids)), none of this would have happened. I've had two bad days going on three, and my last two dreams have gotten...uhhh, extremely lucid. My subconscious mind can't draw this Azalea person yet, but I know that she has brown eyes and brown hair and in her 20s (as like two other dream characters 2 years ago in 2006). It appears she is more seductive than the Amanda Lafferty character I mentioned mid-November 2007 that was in my dreams back in 1994 (yes, I can remember dreams back then too.).
I wish I knew more about this dream character that keeps stirring up trouble, but my dreams aren't providing enough information or better settings. I sure hope the rest of my week is better than this... :(
-
Drew & Kathy vs. Azalea?
8/14-15: Wow. I get SO upset over "Azalea" after having so many bad thoughts, and what do I get in return? The same thing from last year that the dream character resembling James Lafferty went through: game show dreams. Nobody's taught her about The Price Is Right yet, but there'll come a day. She went all the way on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (Meredith Vieira syndicated version) and won $1,000,000. Wow. :P
I'm watching a repeat One Tree Hill (SoapNET, Season 4 (2006-07)) episode as I'm typing this dream report up, but I wish I could know more about this dream character seductress like a previous thread I had posted in a year ago. I was 8 when I had dreams like this (Translation: it was 1994 and I thought I was too young to be dreaming about that stuff). It's like in this dream, Drew Carey doesn't even like this "Azalea" person and he wants to change her for the better. I'm not sure if that's a good idea... :?
(I may have to check back here again if a follow-up lucid dreams happen...)

Arcade games and young women...a replay of '90s dreams?
Week of 10/12: Remember when I said on these forums something about arcade games and women? That's what I got on 10/11-10/12. I had once thought that it was a seductress and she was evil, but now I'm having second thoughts.
If this were late-1993-mid-1994, I wouldn't have realize back then that I had became a chick magnet (heh heh...) in my dreams, as I was being confronted by seductive women (+1 African-American; 1994-2003; couldn't get a name) almost every time in dreams.
So I win 1st place in an arcade racing game in either a bowling alley or a shopping mall with windows at night which reveal the city lights (in most of these games, first place awards a free game), and blocking my view is a young woman in her 20s standing 5'7" with blue eyes and brown hair. She appears again on the October 12 dream with a group of people when I have a dream of my apartment in my room and I'm seeing this YouTube-like clip.
By the time October 13 came, the seductress didn't appear this time. I'm in a basement in a random house trying to install a Konami arcade game in what would be called their "game room" when all of a sudden, I hear something that belongs to Namco: the jingle from Pac-Mania, a 1987 pseudo-3D version of Pac-Man when you clear the Jungly Steps stages and you get a screen telling you to play all four worlds again starting with Block Town. The order of the levels in this game are like this: Block Town, Pac-Man's Park, Sandbox Land (?) and Jungly Steps. I'm thinking that this was the start-up or boot sequence when the game was installed. I couldn't tell if it was any of the Thrill Drive games, Midnight Run: Road Fighter 2 or Winding Heat by Konami because I don't think there was a steering wheel on the cabinet.
I gotta stop playing the Streets of Rage games after 12:00 AM just to beat the stage 5 bosses on the ship in SoR1...

The return of the return of the dreaded shopping mall dream (ugh!)
11/20: I've never seen a shopping mall dream repeat itself since 5/30/08. Is this a first? It happened in the 3rd act of the dream and I was walking into a store that looked a little like Barnes & Noble with a woman in her 20s, where I was like a bodyguard, except she only wanted music CDs in the music section of the mega-store that sells books, magazines, and yes, even coffee (I think she liked rock, metal, pop-punk, "power-pop" or whatever satisfied her).
So the two of us are just browsing around the music section of the store (of course the mall was full of people) until the camera cuts to a young woman (the one I was with) with reddish-brown hair and blue-green eyes, resembling Silver, or the actress behind her, Jessica Stroup from 90210 (the new one that débuted on September 1, 2008 on the CW) and dressed in a short-sleeved black buttoned-down shirt with some designs and black loose-fit jeans and a black 2-row pyramid belt, a belt with metal studs, usually silver or platinum. She asks me if I had heard of this artist or band. The last time I had this dream excluding the May 30, 2008 dream, someone resembling James Lafferty from One Tree Hill was shopping with a young woman (this happened November 3, 2007) at a mall.
That's the second time I dreamed of a mall setting this year. Like I said before, I like browsing around Aéropostale, Hollister Co., PacSun, etc. whenever I get a chance to visit my local shopping mall. I even managed to buy music CDs from there (music by Paramore, Motion City Soundtrack, and most recently Jack Johnson). I mean, I don't have a problem with shopping mall dreams; it just seems every time I recently visit one, I get another dream about one days or even weeks later. I'm just curious to know...who was it that threw that 90210 girl in there randomly? I suppose I'll never know the answer to that one. Until next time...WM86 ;)

A week of dreams of "interesting" people
12/29/08-1/3/09: The lucid/vivid dreams kept on coming. No matter what the dreams are, there are interesting people. In fact, the dreams on 12/29 and 1/3 were the ones with interesting female dream characters - possibly stemming from a dream I had on 11/20/08 where I had protected this dream girl who looked a lot like actress Jessica Stroup at a mall by shopping with her.
Like the dreams on 5/13/07 where I had seen a view of the city outside my window, it happened again - except I saw a building with a punk dream character with dyed red hair in her 20s walking with a young man (who didn't look anything like James Lafferty from two years ago (2007)).
A few scenes later - in a replay of 2006 - I'm in the studio audience at CBS Television City, studio 33 for The Price Is Right with colored curtains, eerily similar to Bob Barker's era (1972-2007), but I saw current PiR host Drew Carey on stage making jokes with the contestants. No contestants were with him, so you could say that I had a dream of what went on during the commercial break that the viewers don't see at 11:00 AM Eastern/11:00 AM Pacific (2:00 PM on the East Coast - As the World Turns is on on most of the CBS affiliates). I now know that there's a morning taping and an afternoon taping. I can't even recall how many Price dreams I've had in my life, but I know I've been watching the show for 20 years (1989) now along with Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! (ABC holds the rights to the syndicated versions). I also know that people who watch The Price Is Right all their life are called "loyal friends and true". And I'm one of them! :D (and don't even think of calling the Showcase the Showcase Showdown.)
On the last days of 2008, however (back on topic to another female-like character), I had seen flashes of this emo/skateboarder-style woman presumably in her late teens-early 20s with brown eyes and brown hair being a little too arrogant and it required me to talk some sense into this dream character before anyone else got hurt. And before I could do anything, I saw a yellow half-pipe with word writings on it. And then all of a sudden strange music starts playing in the background, D-minor to F. No sign of the girl - probably because the dream went a little too fast, skipping over crucial moments.
I can't believe I'm saying it, but these are the coolest dream characters I've ever came across, and may be some of the most vividest dreams I've ever dreamed of. Or have I been playing certain songs by certain artists (t.A.T.u and Avril Lavigne, for example) and bands (Paramore and Hey Monday, for example) too many times that might have caused this?
Whew, I sure said a mouthful. I don't even know what other dream characters may show up next. Until next time...WM86 :)

Namco dreams?!
1/15: I had the worst day ever. Like when I dreamed of James Lafferty on September 29, '07, I wake up cautious the next day. It seems January 15 is the time the most weirdest dreams come (the former was December 7 back in 2004). I'm at this arcade and here is this "intense" game over screen that is scaring the crap out of everyone...and you know what's worse? It was a racing game! So I see people get the "game over" screen as they play (they ran out of time during the race), and I could feel my heart rate rising as I fell to the ground, fainting repeatedly.
The next part of the dream made no sense; I was on a school's campus and it was a bright day outside.
I'm starting to think that when I have a bad day and I start to blame the source, the subconscious mind gives me a vivid dream to cover it up. Either it must have been something I ate, or that Namco arcade game in the dream must have gotten bizarre.
I'm not sure if the game in the dream was a remake of the Final Lap or Ace Driver series (Final Lap is a sequel to Pole Position and the computer opponents really don't challenge you, as you can have up to 8 players linked), either. I checked Wikipedia and then this strange yet interesting font site made by someone from Japan that lists all the arcade games that Namco had built for more information on both Ace Driver (started in 1994, ongoing with a 2008 arcade game called Final Turn, or just simply, Ace Driver 3) and Final Lap (1987; series ended in 1994). I remember at one point getting vivid dreams about Sega arcade games and a bizarre Sonic arcade game (the game looked like it was released around 1984 or 1985, but in reality Sonic made his debut in 1991), but nothing is as crazy as a dream of a bizarre arcade racing game by Namco.
The only racing game by Namco I know about is the Ridge Racer series (1993-present), just after I got upset in 1995 after running out of time in a bumper car mini-game in the Sega Genesis game by Codemasters, Cosmic Spacehead. The only racing games by Sega I know about are the Daytona USA series (started in 1994) and the SEGA Rally series (1995-present). I played the former in 1996, and the latter 2 in 1997. I started to get a feel for these games...until the Gran Turismo series by Polyphony Digital showed up and changed everything I knew about racing games forever, and I started to have dreams about a silver Skyline with a long spoiler (Nismo GT-R LM Road Car/Road Going Version) around 2004. Sometimes I just wonder when I can dream of exotic cars and road trips again? That would be nice... :)
-
Sega, too?!
1/16: I can't believe this. Just after I had a Namco dream, along came that modern-aged Sonic the Hedgehog and the guys that created him, Sega. I suppose this is what happens when you have a Sonic dream you remember, and the result is young people testing a bizarre Sonic game, taking you back to the 16-bit dominance days (around 1991-94). I did have a Sonic dream when I was younger, and the theme still continues today, I found out last night. I wasn't introduced to Sonic the Hedgehog until Christmas 1993 (I was 7; I'm 22 now) when I got my first game console, a Sega Genesis. In 1994, I got the original game (the game that came with the Genesis was Sonic the Hedgehog 2, its sequel--and was the best selling Sega Genesis game then and today, and I remember that annoying platform in Chemical Plant Zone, Act 2 when I was younger.) I was also frustrated with the annoying drum platform in Carnival Night Zone, Act 2 in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 when I was younger, getting the dreaded "time over" message because I couldn't figure out the pattern (you get a "time over" message if the game timer reads 9:59 and "TIME" on the upper-left hand corner on the screen is flashing. You also lose a life if the timer reads 9:59.). I also remember having my cousins master that drum platform--99.9% of the time they succeeded.
I also remember that time in 1995 when I was sleeping and I heard what sounded like munching noises and a life being lost...it was actually one of my parents playing Ms. Pac-Man on the Genesis (I had that game, too!), and that was probably the only Namco game (made for the home versions by Tengen) I had at the time. Thank goodness for Namco Museum and 50th Anniversary on the PlayStation 2 for '80s Namco goodness, and Sonic Mega Collection Plus and Sega Genesis Collection for '90s Sega goodness! I have yet to play the Pac-Man World games (I have a PlayStation 2 after all and have yet to own any PS1 games--Tekken 2, Rage Racer and R4: Ridge Racer Type 4, to be exact), and I bet that will be a challenge. Now if I can just muster up the strength to clear Sonic Unleashed... :) (oh yeah, and long live Sega and Namco!) :)

Asian dream characters?
2/17: A few weeks ago (around 2/6), after a bad day, I get a dream once again about California, but I meet characters that are a part of a minority. I walk across the street talking to an African-American character who's college-aged and looks like Dixon from the new 90210. I guess that's what I get for watching that show too much just to see Silver (played by Jessica Stroup). A few scenes later down the street, I see an Asian woman (probably Chinese nationality) in her 20s (with straight down dark brown hair) trying to get in a blue 1996-ish Toyota RAV4. Since growing up, I've had dreams of these kinds of people (usually of Chinese or Japanese nationality)--the last time I had a dream of these people, it was December 6, 2006 (people of Japanese nationality), and a daydream just last year (same nationality as 12/6/06 dream). I don't have any problems with these types of dream characters, especially female. I guess this is what I get for trying to take a hot and steamy shower. It might have also been caused by a Numb3rs episode I saw in January taking place in Chinatown--and an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit dealing with a Chinatown in New York on a rerun on USA Network. Looks like I gotta be careful what I eat and how long I take a shower every night...until next time, WM86 :)

"Interesting" characters, part 2
3/13: This dream was a little jumpy from the beginning. It seemed this week and last week, the girl dreams kept piling up, and in one of them, I was in a basement of a house belonging to a character who had a striking resemblance to Aimee Teegarden in her mid-20s to early-30s...or was it Elizabeth Banks?
Last night's dream, however, took place in a Japanese building (shouldn't have told that dream about a Sonic game that could've worked in the '80s...), then suddenly changed to a studio audience where this girl with medium-long brown hair in her 20s stood up. The next scene cuts to her room, and I couldn't remember what was going on.
The next scene cuts to the den in her house, as to what she was wearing--a light-blue T-shirt, a white miniskirt and black Chuck Taylor All-Stars (hi-top). I couldn't tell if she had any socks on, and it appeared she practiced ventriloquism, as she had a dummy in one arm of her recliner. She also had wavy brown, emo-like hair. She didn't have any piercings (not that I know of), but she seemed like a friendly person (I think). I guess this is what I get for listening to That's What You Get and Misery Business by Paramore way too much, eh?:doh:
I couldn't stop thinking of her when watching two of my favorite films, The New Guy (2002) and Matilda (1996), though. Though I applaud seeing "interesting" characters in dreams, I'm starting to think this is a replay of the '90s when I had vivid dreams when I was younger. Hmmm...until next time, WM86 :)

"Interesting" dream characters, part 3
6/3: After yet another epic fail (someone I didn't expect winning the Showcase on The Price Is Right, a painful loss on the GSN game show Catch-21's bonus round when the top prize went up from $25,000 to $50,000 (one guy stopped at $6,000--AND THE NEXT CARD HAD HE CONTINUED ON WAS A 7 OF CLUBS--AND HE COULD'VE WON $50,000!!), and a woman in her 20s winning on the funny ABC reality game show Wipeout--all with me taking those events way too seriously like a concerned person), I expected a dream to go too fast, but instead, I get mixed results: in one scene, there's a current-day Honda Civic parked...or trying to find a parking space in a California city-like setting...but inside, there's this young man that appears to be in his 20s and was a big fan of the Long Beach, CA-based band Sublime and was trying to listen to his iPod and probably wasn't paying attention. And you know what's worse? He had a female passenger with him, most likely his girlfriend. I don't know why he dyed his hair red, but that's not what the late lead singer did (I learned on MidiDelight.com when searching for MIDI versions of their songs by fans of the band and Wikipedia a few weeks ago in the band's article that lead singer Bradley Nowell died May 25, 1996 in a hotel room of a heroin overdose), I don't think, and I probably wouldn't know because I didn't hear any of their songs growing up in the '90s and becoming an adult in the 2000s (I'm 23 right now), or watched any of the band's music videos on MTV, either (I watched a little of the channel growing up, but didn't fully watch any programs until 1999). I also learned that Sublime uses certain music types for some of their songs (one of their songs on their 1992 album, 40 oz. to Freedom, DJs that I'm listening to in MIDI format by a fan, for example, is inspired by "dub").
The rest of the dream made no sense, as I remembered something on the '90s cartoon Doug that Mr. Bone (voiced by Doug Preis) yelled that had me shouting something like a dream I had in June of 2006 that I'd rather like to forget. :( (*cues up Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles "game over" jingle...*)
I'm starting to think that reading James Lafferty's or other young actors' biographies on fan sites on the Web are causing dreams like this, especially when a favorite singer or band is involved. I've never really had a dream about a band before, either (but I've had one dream of Avril Lavigne around 2004, though...I've had dreams of musicians before, but not bands). There were a total of *2* female characters in this dream--both having brown hair, and I think brown or hazel eyes. Either way, I'm starting to like the musicians and bands these young actors these days like. I still have to respect them and the hard work they do on TV shows and movies, although I don't like villains, people with bad attitudes, or violence in TV and movies that much. Perhaps I should consider a career in Hollywood (I'm still learning how to write a screenplay)?

"Interesting" dream characters, part 4: Arrogance edition
6/10: Man, this is like déjà vu all over again. Epic fails in Wipeout and Catch-21, in a replay of last week where after all this, something related to James Lafferty's tastes in music took center stage in a dream I had last Wednesday (one in particular, Sublime, was a band from 1988 to 1996). Except here, it's a woman in her 20s with blonde hair wrecking everything by yelling her disgust at someone arrogantly. I read this blog called "Game Show Kingdom" this morning and read the results for The Gauntlet (Real World/Road Rules Challenge): The Duel and checked the pictures of the winning team (the blog said that Evan and Rachel won the $100,000) on the show's official site. I sensed arrogance and cockiness in both pictures... :(
Last night, someone on Wipeout who was just a little too cocky won $50,000 (these three sisters who were 18, 20, and 23 were on the show when this happened - first time in the show's history) by scoring the upsets of the middle and younger sister in the WipeoutZone. The younger and middle sister were picked on by the cocky contestant, in which one of the two hosts said, "That is so rude!" during the 6-person qualifier (the Dizzy Dummy round) when he secured himself a spot in the WipeoutZone and started dancing inappropriately, causing me to think ABC would be fined by the FCC, which explains why I had the dream as explained above.
I'll admit it. When it comes to books I'm writing, I can't create an effective villain or antagonist. Everyone else in Hollywood today has no trouble. I just can't seem to get off the ground, and I just don't know what to do.
I'm pretty sure yelling bad, damaging things like the dream character from last night is not what Lauren Conrad did on The Hills, either. I don't even think she was like that, either. I've had dreams of women characters, but none like this. As much as I can't stand arrogance or shouting matches in real life or on TV and movies, it's a point of no return for me in dreams. And if that wasn't enough, waking up cautious the next day is even more painful than the dream itself! Ouch...

"Interesting" dream characters, part 5
6/17: After an almost near-epic fail of a day (the usual of arrogance and scandalous people on TV that were very upsetting) marked by bad thoughts of arrogant people, loud rock music, serious issues, Whammies, BANKRUPTs, and Double Overbids, I felt like I was going to explode because too much stress and pressure were put on me.
It all slowed down a little when I watched an episode of The Bold and the Beautiful where Pam and Donna Forrester appeared on The Price Is Right, but only Donna was called down to the green podium. The music cues were out of place, and when Drew Carey entered through the big doors the "come on down" music ("Walking" is its official name--this is used when Rich Fields calls a contestant down to Contestants' Row) was still playing. The stress kicked in when Wipeout came on later that night on ABC, as disaster struck for me. It looked like a girl with tattoos was going to win the $50,000 in the WipeoutZone. Unfortunately, her run would be short-lived; one of the fastest contestants (a male!) posted a time of nearly 6 minutes with time to spare to win the $50K, scoring the upset.
As I ended the night, the dream I had took place in a building when all of a sudden, these two women in their 20s show up with dyed hair. But here's the kicker: One of the two girls had the same clothes as the dream character with a striking resemblance to Jessica Stroup wore just last year in a dream I had of a shopping mall!
This marks the second time ever that I've had dreams of dream characters using Manic Panic hair dye on their hair (usually a female character) to get someone's attention. I'm still wondering if the dream character wearing the dark clothes is the same dream character from 11/20/2008 with a striking resemblance to Erin Silver from the 90210 series (teenage years from the new CW series), but this time with dyed red hair. The other woman in her late teens/early 20s had a purplish-like color hair dye. I don't get how I got this dream, but recently I've been trying to retrace my steps to figure out how I got dreams like this at night. Whatever it is, it must be...intriguing...and beautiful...:):P

Too much Sonic and Vectorman = Jessica Stroup dreams?
6/18: Wow...after I tell about my dream of the two women in their 20s with dyed hair coloring (red and purple), and thinking that the person with the red hair was probably the same one resembling Jessica Stroup from a dream that happened November 20 of last year, THIS had to happen. Back-to-back vivid dreams, but I'm feeling less cautious now.
The most memorable was act 3 of the dream of a scene in a desert or a road and another woman in her 20s with brown hair driving this car whilst Bring Me to Life by Evanescence was playing in the background. I think it must have been a scene from a movie with a female protagonist. The two movies I saw late 2008 after I had the dream on November 20 when I had DirecTV, The Hills Have Eyes 2 and School for Scoundrels (a 2006 remake) did NOT have a car like the dream I had. It might have been an exotic...I couldn't get a make or a model.
I don't really have a problem with Jessica Stroup in general; when I saw her in The Hills Have Eyes 2, my jaw just dropped. I learned on Wikipedia that she started modeling at age 15. I think that there is nothing that she can't do. I believe she's going to have a lot of Academy Awards and Oscars before she retires.
Lately this week, I've been playing Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2 and Vectorman 1 and 2 under the SEGA Genesis Collection on my PS2. Either these 16-bit classics are causing dreams like this, or it might have been something I ate recently. I couldn't get the girl's name in this dream or the girls from the previous one last night, either. Interesting...
Back in the '90s when I owned a SEGA Genesis, I didn't own any of the 2 Vectorman titles. I owned all of the Sonic titles, except for Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, Flicky, and Ristar (it was developed by Sonic Team, and some of that game's sound effects come from Sonic 3 & Knuckles, released in 2 halves of 1994 (Sonic 3: February 2, 1994; Sonic & Knuckles: October 18, 1994). I started playing Vectorman in 2001, however (only the first game was up there), when the game was released as part of SEGA Smash Pack Volume 1 for the SEGA Dreamcast.
I also learned that Vectorman was the Best Game of 1995 according to Electronic Gaming Monthly. The game uses rendered 3D graphics, similar to Nintendo's Donkey Kong Country series back in the 16-bit days when the SEGA Genesis and Super Nintendo were king. Some people have said that Vectorman was SEGA's answer to Nintendo's Donkey Kong Country series, too. Out of the two (the sequel (as in Vectorman) was released in 1996 around the same time as Sonic 3D Blast), I liked the 1995 game better. Its music is catchy and gets stuck in your head for days...especially the ocean and underground vault levels. Sometimes it pays to reminisce the '90s...:D

"Interesting" dream characters, part 6 (Jake Sandvig, Penn Badgley)
7/8: Even MORE déjà vu...this is like a replay of 6/3/09. Like that Wednesday, it was the same thing: epic fails everywhere (couple in their 20s shared $50,000 after winning on the WipeoutZone final round portion of a special episode of Wipeout, graphic episode of Criminal Minds, cute girl in her 20s winning on Jeopardy!, etc.), and then a chilling, upsetting story on Primetime: Crime involving the murder of a young 19-year-old woman in Texas over two years ago that made me lose it (the perpetrator is serving a life sentence while his accomplice was sentenced to 8 years in prison for tampering with evidence).
After unsuccessfully battling my inner demons while I watched the last three shows (Wipeout, Criminal Minds, Primetime: Crime) in that order, yet another vivid dream comes--and I think it was stemming from a flashback to 2004: dreams where MTV takes center stage. This is probably what introduced me to James Lafferty, but I didn't know who he was until 2007. Some of their ("their" as in MTV) original programs were shown, and it looked as if the cable went out, until I saw this one girl in her 20s with red-orange natural hair and brown eyes...dressed with a military motif (dressed in camouflage all over). This is where the channel tried to go out until I walked over to the TV and fixed the back of the reciever. After this segment that looked a little like True Life, a movie came on that same channel with a dream character wearing the same clothes that Ross Patterson wore in the 2002 film The New Guy! I couldn't tell what happened to him (or the girl in her 20s with the camouflage) because I woke up.
I'm not sure what to believe: an epic fail-level bad day resulting in ending the night with a weird feeling or feeling very nervous or upset, or reading more about Jake Sandvig or Penn Badgley (or seeing their pictures on their pages of the Internet Movie Database) that is causing dreams like this. I also can't believe I had to write all this down while I was watching Live with Regis & Kelly and Rachael Ray and about to watch The Price Is Right. I just hope endless thoughts of Jake and Penn don't keep me from watching this Earth Day episode of The Price Is Right with, of course, Drew Carey...

Remote Control
7/12: This feeling. Like a dream of James Lafferty from 2007! This marks the 5th time I've had a dream about an old MTV game show that lasted from 1987 to 1990. I remember watching the syndicated version of it (or reruns in 1991 at the age of 5 (I'm 23 now)), but I think that's it. I don't remember seeing the MTV version of it, though. I'm talking about Remote Control, the show that got comedian Adam Sandler into show business. He played this odd character named Stud Boy, and he had a funny accent.
Now, I say 5th time because there was this segment that upset me a little in recent years when a player was in last place at the end of Round 2 and the sirens went off at any time. This means the TV was going to go "Off the Air"...and that meant the loser at the end of Round 2 (the player with the lowest score) went bye-bye, recliner and all. I've seen some video and YouTube clips (and one from VH1's I Love the '80s Strikes Back in the "1987" episode) of the ejections when the TV goes "Off the Air".
The way losing contestants exited the stage with the recliner they were sitting on were funny, depending on which side of the room you sat in. If you were on the left chair, you'd be lifted up and out of the room and then hanging backstage upside down, recliner and all. If you were in the middle chair, your chair would rocket backwards through a trick wall and a sheet of wallpaper would be used to conceal you from view. If you were in the right chair, there were two ways you could exit: Like the middle chair, the chair would rocket backwards and house paneling (or trap door) would take its place by spinning around. In later seasons, the house paneling (or trap door) would flip over 180 degrees to show just that after your chair rocketed backwards. When the Off the Air segment came up, the audience would usually sing a song about leaving, for example Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye or Hit the Road Jack (the latter was used for the final season, I think). The same goes for the Lightning Round minus the singing.
The Off the Air ejections in dreams I saw in 2003 were nothing like the 1987 classic. One contestant, a female (in the middle chair), was ejected by falling downstage a la the 2002-03 Game Show Network game show Russian Roulette (which coincidentally, uses trap doors in their drop zones to eject losing contestants when the red light lands on their space after playing Russian Roulette). The same thing happened to another female contestant in last place at the end of Round 2 in that same chair.
Another dream I had in 2003 almost had the same thing, except after the Lightning Round was over, and a male contestant who lost was pulled backwards through a trick wall since he was in the middle chair. The backstage portion of the set showed something really...disgusting. (The backstage portion of the set was shown only one time in 1988 to show "Weird Al" Yankovic annoying losing contestants who went Off the Air with an accordion, playing it rather poorly.)
I had one in 2006 where yet another female contestant lost the game and was sent Off the Air...but after she got ejected, there's this man (or stagehand) dressed as a pirate that came out after the ejection!
Sunday night was the 5th time I dreamed of the show, except the Basement was modernized to keep up with modern times. The show had black floors, a la Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? (both Regis and Meredith versions) In addition, the show followed the syndicated version's rules, and the remaining contestants were a player in the left chair and a player in the middle chair--both men. The middle player lost and his chair rocketed backwards, but there was a wide camera shot so the people at home didn't get to see the backstage portion of the set like they did 21 years ago when Weird Al tortured losing contestants with an accordion, playing it rather poorly. I didn't get to see what the stagehands were dressed up like backstage to lay the smackdown on the losing contestant, either.
It's funny to see people who lose on this show go Off the Air after having the lowest score at the end of Round 2, but if the person eliminated was a woman in her 20s, I just can't get used to it. One YouTube video I saw had a female contestant in the middle chair from 1989 screaming like bloody murder as her chair rocketed backwards through the trick wall while the audience was singing Hit the Road Jack...and out came this hand puppet and a stagehand dressed like Jerry Lee Lewis! That's just sick. And then there was one from I Love the '80s Strikes Back's 1987 episode where the same thing happens to another female contestant...this time from 1987, and this time the stagehands were dressed like security guards or teenagers dressed in punk fashion and hitting her with pillows as her chair slid backwards as she was in the middle chair.
This dream, however, had me feeling cautious by today (Tuesday). The real set was like a basement (as what the creators of the show called it). This was way back when MTV was at the end of the line with showing music videos all day. They still do that, but there are now more reality television show programs on the channel (such as Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and The Hills). The show (as in Remote Control) had many hostesses throughout its five seasons. Ken Ober was the host and Colin Quinn was the announcer/sidekick with the gravelly voice. The show had questions focusing on movies, music, and--of course--TV, and most were done in the form of skits or wacky characters.
The players had to select a category by pointing a non-working remote control (hence the game show title) at the big screen TV. There are channels that deduct 10 points as well. The bonus rounds were insane--especially the syndicated version and final season on MTV! For those seasons you were strapped to a huge wheel and you had to answer questions (syndicated) or guess the artist in the music video (MTV), in which the monitors showed the show's logo (incorrect answer) or the words "GRAND PRIZE" (correct answer)! Many people have lost this way by their head used as the wheel's pointer not landing on a monitor showing "GRAND PRIZE". The first seasons had you strapped to a folding chair to guess the artists in the videos to win the grand prize in 30 seconds. No matter what I think of this game show, I have memories of this show already. I don't think GSN can add it to its lineup because it was created by MTV whereas MTV is currently owned by Viacom. :( Until next time... ;)

James Lafferty: 2 years later
7/16: Wow. My first James Lafferty dream in 2009, and the first time it's happened in the summer. This happened around the first and second acts of the dream. It took place a few years later, when I had moved into this nice house/apartment, but I keep thinking it was a shopping mall. Either way, I saw a man in his 20s with dark brown hair that might've had a striking resemblance to him, wearing the same clothes as the character in the shopping mall or department store dream on November 2, 2007, as back then was talking to a woman in her 20s with natural red hair and glasses...except this time, the man in his 20s had a hairstyle similar to the YouTube video I watched of the highlights of the 4th annual One Tree Hill charity basketball game held every year from 2004-2008 in Wilmington, North Carolina in a gymnasium at Cape Fear Community College. The hairstyle was just like the host's prior to Season 5 of OTH (early-to-mid-2008) as seen in the video clip on YouTube...or was it very similar to the one Nathan Scott's already had throughout Seasons 1-4?
...or was it looking at stuff that was related to the actor using the Internet Wayback Archive Machine? (fan site, Internet Movie Database actor page, Wikipedia article) As I'm watching Jessica Szohr from Gossip Girl, a show I used to watch on the CW in 2007 (but rarely do now thanks to Top Gear on BBC America and SuperCars Exposed on SPEED) be interviewed as a guest on Rachael Ray (it's a rerun from 2008), I'm just wondering how the dream of James Lafferty happened in a bright scene while listening to Adrift by Jack Johnson on the album Sleep Through the Static (Heh, that's funny...watching Jessica Szohr on Rachael Ray while thinking about the dream I had of James Lafferty while listening to Adrift by Jack Johnson).
During the time the L.A. Lakers played in the NBA Finals this year (and won--finally after 6 years!), I had constantly thought about him and Lauren Conrad, who are big Lakers fans, as I found out on his biography on the Internet Movie Database and a news story via Google.
...or was it me trying to play basketball and use an Arby's sandwich wrapper as a ball to throw into the trashcan used as a basketball goal (which I successfully threw in the trash/goal)? Either way, I'll never know what really happened.

Japanese people and Plinko chips...what's going on?
9/21, 22: After dreams of looking outside my window to find a cityscape (looks like the dream from May 13, 2007 just loves to repeat itself), I have a record 2 back-to-back lucid dreams. The one on Monday was probably a sequel of the December 6, 2006 dream with samurai in a crowded room. I also tried writing about the dream yesterday (9/22), but had really bad thoughts and couldn't write anything down. This time instead of the crowded room, it took place in a leafy area of Japan (the Monday dream) until something crazy happened and I woke up unexpectedly.
Tuesday's dream was a little darker than the Japan dream. I'm at CBS Television City, studio 33 where The Price Is Right tapes their shows, and I pick up this Plinko chip someone dropped (a pink disc with the dollar sign that makes up the TPiR logo (Barker and Carey eras)). It also looked as if while the studio was empty, the Plinko game board was still out. I really thought that after the dream of James Lafferty I had on July 16, the dreams were going to stop...but I was wrong. The lights were dark on set, but I still remember the red seats for the audience, however. I've seen this every morning on TPiR when I have the chance. I've seen other shots of the Studio 33 audience and the chairs they were sitting in on Card Sharks, Family Feud (1988-94), Wheel of Fortune (1989-95 days), and Press Your Luck (1983-86).
Don't get me wrong, I love game shows recorded at CBS Television City, and still a loyal friend and true to TPiR since 1989, and still remember when the Barker turntable had green floors. I also love what they've done to the new turntable which Drew Carey now calls home base, as well as the Showcase podiums; though some people have said that the blue displays are hard to read. Instead of the classic "eggcrate" displays, the readouts are now computer screens, and the lights on the Contestants' Row displays are now LCD screens for Season 38 (2009-10).
I still miss Bob Barker, though, yet every time I see him on a talk show, I always burst out laughing at his deliberate witticisms...until that time Rachael Ray told him about the time Drew was on her show and talked about the bathroom incident on October 16, 2007 (that was actually intended to be the Season 36 premiere) of this contestant who was going to play Plinko...but she had to go to the bathroom! :P (She wins $20,100 in the game and makes it to the Showcase as the Top Winner, but she goes over ($62,000 for $61,488).) I'm watching Bob's early episodes of TPiR on DVD on my PlayStation 2, however. Some of the contestants from Disc 3 (1974-75? '76?) are a riot, too. I'll never forget how many times Bob was asked about a funny incident about a contestant named Yolanda back in 1975, and his cameo appearance in the 1996 film Happy Gilmore where he had a funny saying after kicking the crap out of Adam Sandler's title character. Whew, I'm getting tired. Until next time, WM86 :)

Female version of James Lafferty?
9/27: Wow. Two days before I remember the dream I had two years ago about James Lafferty, I get kind of a "two years later" dream with the same situation the dream character trying to be him recycled and reused, except here, it's a woman. One scene is late in the night, and then the next morning, these actors are talking to this beautiful woman in her 20s that seems to have the same eye and hair color as him, but a little smaller (James is 6'2"), but it seemed that her eyes looked more brown than sea blue. It seemed that for the first few seasons of One Tree Hill, it looked as if James had brown eyes rather than blue. It looked as if my dream was trying to emulate the greatness of 90210 and One Tree Hill, except during some sort of decision making progress, it looked as if the show Jessica Stroup plays in won, so the scenery took place in California rather than North Carolina...score one for California. Ouch. In fact, it looked more like The O.C. rather than 90210.
I'm not sure if there's a woman in her 20s out there in the United States who likes the same things he likes, as well as nearly have the same eye and hair color as him, be from the West Coast as well as be an actress, too. If there is, I can hardly wait for her to star in a show on FOX or the CW, or even in a movie once in a while. In fact, she might be cute for her age. I'd also like to say that this might have been one of the most pleasant dreams I've had in a while...nice California setting, everything. If there is an actress in her 20s who likes the same things as James, I'd like to know more about her, too. :)

Flashback to 2000
10/18: What a heck of an epic fail of a week I've had... (good-looking people winning on game shows, bad thoughts running amok (usually about Kristin Cavallari or Randy Orton), intriguing team eliminated from The Amazing Race, 5-day champion losing on Jeopardy!, etc.), and then I forget to write something down that should have been in my dream journal last week after I had remembered a dream I had when I was 13 (I would be 14 in April of 2000) in March 2000 after eating seafood such as fish sticks for dinner. I was in this hotel on a beautiful day, and then all of a sudden I go outside to find this touring bus parked near the entrance whereas in the main lobby the cashier is watching a game show. Off the bus comes this girl in her 20s, and I was unable to see the rest of the people on the bus, as I had to wake up and go to school the next day. Unfortunately, that day, I got sick and was unable to finish the day.
The theme of women on a touring bus would later go on to be a recurring theme in one of my dreams from the fall of 2006 after that one in 2000...as well as the hotel dream with a Sonic the Hedgehog cameo appearance on TV (an episode of 4KidsTV's 2003-debuted cartoon Sonic X) in the fall of 2006. I don't have any problems with too many girls in my dreams, but it sure is nice to reminisce dreams from childhood and teenage years.

Flashback to mid-August/Last night...
10/19: After yet another epic fail (missed out on a $250,000 win on Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? (syndicated) when it's on a time where The Price Is Right is on CBS, missed a $25,000 win in Catch-21 and will probably never see those two things again, having to sacrifice Top Gear on BBC America for One Tree Hill on the CW for bad thoughts I had with the 5th Grader dilemma, etc.), I started to have bad thoughts of evil people winning...until I get a dream about people I met around 1994-95 on my last year at Henry Adams Elementary in Cary, NC that were now all grown up (I know that belongs on another blog... :embarrassed:) in their 20s and are taking classes at a college where I'm a student as well. I couldn't tell if it took place here or in California, but they greeted me when they saw who I was. I'm thinking an old friend from a class I was in from the last year of that school from 1994-95 (I was 8 or 9) was probably thinking about me, so that's why I might have gotten that dream. I was a mess back then from 1990-95 and still reminiscing on those days. Can't believe it's been 15 years...I wonder what he's doing now? It's been about 15 years since I last saw him. Memories of the '90s will not die, that's for sure.
Meanwhile, I couldn't stop thinking about this dream I had when I had to go out of town for a week due to an ailing family member...whereas the dream character was female (which has been happening a lot in my dreams), and I've dreamed of her about two times...in different scenes...she's a blonde with blue or green eyes, about 5'6" or 5'7", wearing a T-shirt and tan shorts with white and turquoise skateboarding-style shoes, and is in her 20s. She had other friends I saw in a dream that Tuesday when I was dreaming about Wipeout, and what I saw there did not look like the WipeoutZone.
Those two are intriguing dream characters, all right, but I'm still glad I remember the '90s after all these years. Perhaps the dream is telling me that I think I don't have time for anything, yet they want me to have more fun in life? Hmmm...

Flashbacks to 1992, 1995, and 1997
12/27: For the past few weeks, I couldn't stop thinking of dreams I had since childhood. There was this one in 1995 (first half) that had Asian dream characters and I vaguely remember it now. I think I had two more like this, but the Chinese/Japanese signs were actually someone's attempt at drawing the Magic # board on The Price Is Right, a pricing game known to scare the daylights out of me when I was little...except in the first one of the two, the design was HUGE! In the first 1995 one, near the end of it, people were singing nonsensical words! Ouch...
And then there's TWO from 1992 (second half) I couldn't stop thinking about! One was a girl dream, while the other was...strange. Probably got it after seeing Sonic the Hedgehog on the SEGA Genesis for the first time. Another one in 1993 (probably first half) had one of gameplay and after a "game over", a strange continue screen appeared.
Now to the 1997 dream (first half)...the scene was a mixture of scenes from the 1995 film Clueless, a scene from the 1995 film The Baby-Sitters Club, and some Hollywood-style red carpet, when all of a sudden (I think), these girls are fighting over some boy. I can't remember the next part very well, but I believe that it cut to a scene inside a building.
I don't know if I got it (I was 11) after seeing Jewel Staite in season 1 of Space Cases, or if I saw promos of a then-young Alicia Silverstone starring in the 1995 smash (as in Clueless, the late Brittany Murphy's very first movie...so tragic and so sad to believe that she's gone--I was shocked to hear the news of her unexpected passing last week) growing up, or other things I might've done during the 1996-97 year (I was 10 going on 11). Or did I get the 1997 dream after seeing Larisa Oleynik from The Secret World of Alex Mack? I'll never know the answer to that one 12 years later. Like I said before, it's nice to reminisce the '90s, dream-wise, and I'm probably curious to find out more surprises from my dreams from childhood. :)

Wrong Amanda? Plus, more interesting dream characters...
3/3/10: Sorry I haven't been on that often...my life suddenly got busier. Plus, I hadn't had the time to recap the last few dreams I got in the last days of 2009 with someone resembling Katie Cassidy pretending to be a Wilmington, NC resident, someone from my past around 1994-95, and then Avril Lavigne in a span of three dreams.
As I'm writing this, I'm listening to Jeffry McWild's stage (Fisherman From 7 Seas) music from the Genesis and the arcade/Saturn versions of Virtua Fighter 2 after a rough day, as well as some music cues from Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? (the $50,000, $100,000, $250,000 and $500,000 questions--that's how the money tree goes on the last four questions before the $1,000,000 one, which has a more epic cue on the U.S. syndicated version hosted by Meredith Vieira; the 2009 "10th Anniversary Celebration" version hosted by then-host Regis Philbin uses the same format).
Then came the week of January 25th. After listening to "Final Fantasy Adventure Amanda's Tear OC ReMix", a remix of a non-playable character (Jema in the Japanese version, Amanda in the U.S./European versions)'s theme from Final Fantasy Adventure/Mystic Quest, I was writing something and then thought I would have to make one of my characters a mysteriously alluring young woman after hearing According To You on Lopez Tonight on TBS (Turner Broadcasting Station) sung by an Australian singer named Orianthi, who played the guitar whenever the late, great "King of Pop" Michael Jackson was on tour. I started to have dreams with this OC ReMix playing in the background (Amanda's Tear), but no scenery.
February 15th was a downward spiral. After losing it after this contestant on The Price Is Right had the most horrible luck EVER (he also blamed an incorrect guess on the audience): get ALL 4 small prizes WRONG in Plinko, and then have his one chip land on one of the $0 spaces, I thought bad things (he also won the Showcase and I thought "excessive celebration" when Drew read the actual retail price of his Showcase). I ended up getting a dream of someone who looked like him. Ouch.
Right now, I'm thinking about a journal entry from mid-2007 when I tried to describe a dream character I named Amanda about 15 or 16 years ago. Turns out I might have described the wrong one. The Amanda in my dream from around 1994 or 1995 had brown hair, not blonde, so she might've dyed it when the "camera" cut to her and there were pink kaleidoscopic patterns (as I remembered what I wrote down in my Dream Journal three years ago) and she was making weird, strange straining noises like an evil spirit/beast possessed her. I think she might have blue or hazel eyes. I was around 8 or 9 when I got this "Amanda" dream, so my memory might not be that good...
Wow, I said a mouthful...until next time, WM86 ;)

Teen/young adult dream characters (don't count them out just yet)
3/7: Could this be? No...and I think I found The Price Is Right's storage area where they keep their props when not in use when all of a sudden a fire alarm is accidentally triggered and then seconds later a loud, obnoxious horn goes off. From there, I think the dream was trying to recreate a scene from a Sandra Bullock film from 1995, The Net, but there weren't any computers in the dream, and here, it was a beautiful yet strange day.
I'm starting to think this is a repeat of 1/23, 2/7 and 15 where I've ran into strangely intriguing people in dreams. This is also the fifth time I've had dreams of people like this (oh, and the other two dreams with the girl resembling Katie Cassidy from the new CW version of Melrose Place doesn't count). The ones on 1/23 and 2/15 resemble Michael Trevino (and likely may be the same character, but different clothing), an actor I've never seen before on any CW show (but I have heard of him before via a 90210 fan blog around 2008 or 2009), while obviously the one on 2/7 resembles James Lafferty, but the eye color was different.
All of a sudden outside, I run into this young man in his 20s that looks nothing like James or Michael, and dressed like a fan of a rock or metal band or an extreme sports activist. He also had natural red-orange hair and I think hazel eyes. So I introduce myself and tried to call him "Stephen", but he gives a name I can't pronounce (I think it started with an O or a U), which obviously isn't his real name (I think). It got cut short when I heard crows outside my window...Friday sounded like an illegal street race that took a turn for the worst (gunshots and screaming and then police sirens all in that order). It was so loud, I couldn't get to sleep. I also don't think the countryside is a good place where either Drew Carey or Kathy Greco would keep stuff related to TPiR. Now I gotta see if I can watch this NASCAR race without falling asleep, because I'm still tired after waking up at 12:00 AM with the PlayStation 2 still on and waking up to the sound of loud birds at my window at nearly 7 AM. Until next time, WM86 :)

Virtua Fighter dreams? (Flashback to 4/8/01 - before my 15th birthday)
3/8: I can't believe I still remember this from 9 years ago...before my 15th birthday. I'm playing at a local arcade playing the actual arcade version of Virtua Fighter 2--managing to reach Jacky Bryant (stage 9)...and losing (when I was on a roll, winning the first two rounds). The computer actually stormed back and scored the upset of the character I was using. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough to continue playing this SEGA masterpiece from 1994. I wake up at 5:30 AM once the "game over" screen (and it was a LONG one!) plays. I went all around the building, hysterical that I lost the last few rounds, and when I came back, the Game Over screen plays.
When I play the arcade game for real, I can't get past Shun-Di (stage 3). I tried with Sarah Bryant (Jacky's younger sister) the last two times in the late-'90s and failed. The same goes for reaching Bark the Polar Bear (stage 3) in Sonic the Fighters. My only try was with Amy Rose (the pink hedgehog Sonic is always trying to run away from) and failing. Both of these times I end up getting Game Over because I don't have any more quarters. I bet if I see Virtua Fighter 5 in the arcade, I will try my best to put up a good fight AND get my revenge for what happened 11 or 12 years ago! Until next time, WM86 ;)

Blondes and brunettes fighting, Shane and Lita arguing; DJ Qualls?
4/2: 3/31 and 4/1 were TWO OF THE MOST CRAZIEST DAYS EVER!! After a wild adventure on 3/31 (that started with a contestant's big win from a Season 32 (2003-04) episode of The Price Is Right that found its way to YouTube), I ended up getting a dream about a school setting (likely a college filmed at a high school), when all of a sudden this blonde-haired girl knocks over what appears to be the brown-haired girl's shampoo, spilling it on the floor. There's pink cream everywhere.
"I will NOT allow this!" the brunette exclaims and then there's a cat fight. The coach doesn't consider disciplinary action against the students; instead, he lets them have at it. Unfortunately, the dream would be short-lived, as I woke up with a headache.
April Fools' Day would almost become a disaster in uncontrollable laughter and then went downhill by the time Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains came on. A bad thought about Shane McMahon by the time I finished watching CSI (the original Las Vegas series--hadn't done that in a long time) last night led to one of the most vivid, intense dreams I might have had in my life...a remix of dreams I've had where there's a city skyline outside a window, but here, it was an office building. The powers that be didn't want me seeing what people resembling Shane McMahon and Lita were arguing about in the woman's office, so I had to show some Japanese businessmen what was going on outside the high-rise office, and all of a sudden I see some buildings that shouldn't be there (shades of downtown Raleigh, NC).
I think this was trying to show me a WWE fanfiction I could've written, but instead, the dream replayed a scene from something I tried to write in one of my books, when all of a sudden this kid with a striking resemblance to Gil/Dizzy from the 2002 film The New Guy shows up, scaring away the Japanese businessmen, unfortunately, by doing something that would've garnered a PG-13 rating in movies in the 2000s that nowadays get an R rating. If this was what the Shane and Lita look-a-likes were arguing about, I don't want any part of it. :P Luckily, there wasn't any bathroom humor in either one of these dreams. While I may not see what a blonde vs. brunette fight, "Shane" and "Lita" arguing, and a movie character's attempts at humor have to do with my life, for me, I have to remember a rule: the last week of March is the roughest and craziest ever. Until next time, WM86 ;)

Battle Arena Toshinden + dreams in 1998 and 2008 = how storybook characters were created?
4/21: Like the Virtua Fighter dream I talked about two posts ago, I suddenly remember a dream from around 1998-99 where I was in downtown New York at night after a scene where people pretending to be Eiji and Kayin from Battle Arena Toshinden (the first PlayStation game (PS1) I ever played back in Christmas 1996, but I didn't get the system then. I actually never owned a piece of PlayStation hardware until May 2004 (a PS2)) were fighting in a ring similar to Kayin's stage, which looks like Brooklyn in New York, at night. After seeing "Eiji" (outfit 1: white jacket with red two tone, white shirt, brown gloves, black pants and brown shoes) and "Kayin" (outfit 1: red-orange hair, silver jacket, silver shirt, purple gloves, silver pants and black boots), suddenly, the dream from under the Brooklyn Bridge "acts" like Sonic the Hedgehog (by SEGA!) with these platforms and bottomless pits, something that has never been in a Toshinden game. Speaking of Sonic, if he were to go up against either Eiji or Kayin, he'd lose the fight.
This would repeat itself 10 years later late-April to early-May 2008 when I had a bad day on either Wednesday or Thursday, but this time, it only showed me someone who dressed again like Kayin (outfit 2: blond hair, red jacket, black shirt, brown gloves, black jeans and black boots just like outfit 1, which can be accessed by highlighting him and pressing a certain button on the character select screen in the first game (PS1, SEGA Saturn and PC versions)) in a short glimpse. I think I got this after viewing one of YouTube user VendavalEste's playings of the first game all the way through with Eiji, Kayin, and a green-haired 16-year-old girl named Ellis (outfit 2 shows that Ellis has blue hair instead of green) on the hardest difficulty setting, in which the last boss is Sho, Eiji's mysterious older brother who has both him and Kayin's move-set combined.
Come to think of it, I think playing this game helped me get ideas for storybook characters 13 years later (two of the main protagonists, but unfortunately, they're both 20-something women). Sometimes playing games helps me create some fascinating characters. Games like this and the Street Fighter series inspired me to create Veronica, a 23-year-old Japanese-American makeup artist/cosmetologist/hairdresser hopeful (about 30% of the ideas for this character came from watching YouTube videos about makeup and hair), and Calandra, a 22-year-old Anglo-American (she's British) FBI/Interpol agent who moved to New York from England (about 30% of the ideas for this character came from watching police procedure shows like most of the CSIs and Criminal Minds, for example). I just wish they'd release a new Toshinden game for the PS3 and X360...and bring back characters like Kayin, Sofia, Duke, and Ellis. Until next time, WM86 ;)
