      Demagogue's Dreams

[This dream is also posted in the Dream Interpretations Forum]

This is a dream I had recently. I believe it has some meaning, although I am not certain of what this is...

I am going to add here that I had not been drinking/taking drugs/whatever before this, so it's not influenced by them in any way.

Any people I mention will be described in a character summary afterwards. Just scroll down if you really need to know then and there. Any immediate commentary is in {curly brackets}. Also note that I may or may not have changed people's identity for my own personal sake

It begins in my house. I am alone. I am bored, and sitting by my PC, which is turned off. The doorbell rings. I walk outside my room into the corridor.

      {My house is a bungalow that has a corridor reaching from each end to each end. It is in a slight L-shape. The front door entrance is in the middle of the long part of the L-shape. I believe it is important that even although the areas I visit are usually larger or smaller than the rooms in my house, the general layout of the house always remains the same.}

I step into the corridor. It is the foodcourt of one of the shopping centres I frequent. It is empty. I shrug off the fact this is strange and head in the direction of where the front door would be, assuming that this was part of the corridor. I am now aware this is a dream.

I arrive at the front door. The walls here are bricked, like a similar entrance to the science department to my school {this is important - more on this later}. I do not remember the point of the corridor in which the area changes, however in hindsight I do not remember one of the bathrooms nor my sister's bedroom appearing at any point in the dream, both of which I would have to have passed in order to get to the front door.

The doorbell rings again, and I know what will happen before it does. The house will fill with people. I open the door. The house is filled with people.

Music is playing loudly, and everyone is dancing, laughing and having fun. Alcohol is flowing freely.

People flow in and out of the door onto the driveway. I pay them little heed for now and make my way through the crowd. Before I get far, I meet Claire. We talk for a while and then I leave. I make my way to the living room at this point, although this is rather vague. I do not remember passing any other rooms on the way. I get there and see my friends Chris and Michael. They raise bottles of beer to me and cheer, several people in the crowd turn around and tell me I'm a legend {a very good compliment where I come from - I get it a lot in real life, funnily enough}.

I act modestly and leave the room, heading back towards the front door. The corridor is considerably wider than in real life. I also remember clearly being confused that despite being wider (and full of people, I'm only 5'8"), I was able to look down the entire length of the house - it looked exactly as my house should. No food court at the other end of the hallway.

Just outside the front door, I meet Megan. I am very pleased she showed up. She is glad she came. We talk some more, rather awkwardly. It gets better after a while. We walk outside onto the driveway. I still know this is a dream, but I carry myself with the plot regardless.

      {I do not like interrupting the course of my dreams, despite the fact I know I can. I'm a creative person in real life, and my dreams are more so. I have a dream I remember every second night at least, and it's like watching a brand new movie each time. I am always curious to see how things plan out. I have not had a nightmare in several months.}

This is where things get pear-shaped and rather odd, if they weren't already. I am with megan still, and meet Claire. I introduce the two to each other. Suddenly Megan bends forward as if she is to be sick. Blood trickles from her mouth. I now forget that I know I am in a dream for a short while. Claire tells me to go find something - what, I cannot be sure. She takes Megan somewhere, I assume in the dream for medical help.

The next part is vague. I am not sure if I find what Iw as looking for, but I am now actively searching for Megan and Claire through the masses of people. I cannot find them and become frustrated. Then I remember that I am in a dream, and remember that the best course of action to take would be to search the rooms they would most likely be in. I decide that since Megan was possibly sick, the toilets would be a wise choice to search first. I ignore the bathroom next to the front door for some reason, and the next closest does not partake in the dream at all, as previously mentioned. I therefore head towards the en-suite toilet at the top end of the house.

To get there I must first pass through the food court, which is now once again on the way. Again I do not notice the transition from my house to the food court, but know which driection to head in anyway due to the continual general layout resembling my house. I decide that running is too slow and jump onto a table. My original aim was to jump from table to table in a straight line, I believe. However, I decide to go on a more creative streak - I lower gravity. I do not use the tables but use the backs of chairs instead. I am not sure why, but it was very fun On the way I see Michael and Chris once more sitting at a table - they wave at me. It may be important to note that the food court, unlike the rest of the house, is nearly empty, in contradiction to its real-life counterpart.

After my chair-hopping, gravity returns to normal as I enter the en-suite. Nobody is in there, though I search avidly. I then remember about the bathroom next to the front door. I close my eyes and open them, and I am at the front door. I rush into the toilet, but once more, it is empty. I begin to panic, but remember that there may be someone with first aid nearby that they may have gone to.

I am outside the front door again, and the place is full. This time the entrance once more resembles a similar entrance to the physics department. I suddenly remember that Mr Hynd has a first aid degree. His classroom is exactly where my kitchen is in real life in correspondance to the entrances, and in my dream my kitchen is no longer my kitchen, and is his classroom. I knock on the door because there is a class in. When he answers I realise it is not a class, but his Science Cadre. He tells me that he has not seen either Megan or Claire. He closes the door and I move down the corridor away from the front door. It is much longer, and still packed with people.

I meet a third girl (I am not certain I know her in real life, although it is possible) - who expresses interest in me - but I mostly ignore her as I am worrying about Claire and Megan.

There are three possible endings to this. Either it ends here as I spot one, or I clear everyone out of the house in a last-ditch effort to find them. I believe it is the latter, but also believe it could be both, for some reason.

      Characters:
Name - relation. Gender + age. Key physical details
Michael - my best friend in real life and my confidant. Male, 16. Very tall with a beard.
Chris - another good friend, fairly psychotic in my eyes. Male, 16. Also tall.
Claire - a girl I met at a party. We have been keeping contact recently, and I am attracted to her. Female, 16. Shorter than I, but not short - very attractive physically (and personality-wise).
Megan - a girl I have been chasing for a month and a half. I believe she is also attracted to me, although I am not certain. At the time of the dream, I was afraid I had "messed up" with her while drunk, although I recently discovered this was not the case. She is moderately shy, from what I understand. Female, 15. Also slightly shorter than myself, and possibly more attactive physically than Claire, but perhaps not personality-wise.
Mr Hynd - head of physics department at my school. I have never had him as a teacher, and did not take physics this year. However, I have signed up for a week long trip to France organised by him, which is perhaps relevant somehow. Male, 40+. Tall, nerdy-looking.
Third Girl (possibly Stevi) - a girl I had asked out once, she said yes but then blew me off for someone else. I still find her attractive, and recently (after this dream) she has started chatting me up again (after splitting up with the other guy, I assume). Female, 17. Very attractive too, though less so thn the other two.

For some reason I feel this dream is deeper than "I'm attracted to her, her and her" - I am fairly certain it is a warning of how I should pursue my relationships with these people. Then again, I may just be on the wrong track altogether. No idea why my two friends keep appearing, nor for the food court, the science department nor even Mr Hynd himself. Nor can I explain (I forgot the mention this) the perfect twilight outside. The kind of twilight I've only seen in more tropical places. Like America

Anyway, lets see if anyone else can make any sense out of this.

[Tomorrow I will add a dream I had when I was only three or four years old that I still remember vividly to this very day.]

How intriguing - I have a recurring villain...

[I promised the childhood dream, but this is far more interesting]

A few nights ago I had a short dream involving a man with a greatsword. He is cloaked in shadow and I cannot see his face.

He challenges me to a duel. A gauntlet lies at my feet. I am rather medieval by nature, and am compulsed to accept. Besides, he is in my dream. What could go wrong?

I call upon my own weaponry and armour. I have a bastard sword and a buckler, and wear chain mail and leather - and a cloak, for my usual dramatic effect. The arena is a white room of what I know to be infinite space. No collateral possible, no chance of him surprising me.

He rushes me and I defend with my sword - his blow sunders my weapon.

He laughs and I lower gravity, jumping back a great distance. I call upon another weapon, a plasma rifle. I know exactly how to use it and shoot him. It phases through him. he laughs again (rather dramatically, I must say) and my life appears before me in a raw physical incarnation. I cannot remember what it looks like exactly, but I just know what it is.

Like any typical villain, he attacks this bystander. I call upon a "air", and he hurtles into the white "sky". When he is in the air, I will my "life" out of the arena, and it is gone.

I then hear a laugh behind me. I turn around and am punched to the ground, which turns black and envelops me. He tells me "You are a fool, and you shall know no happiness!"

I feel a crushing pain, but open my eyes to find myself in another place. It is pitch black. I then decide it is unsafe and end the dream, waking myself.

Think that's strange? He appeared to me again last night, same cloaked figure. Same sword. Same laugh. Although the dream was a bit shorter.

I threw the gauntlet this time, attempting to redeem myself. However, this was a poor choice, this allowed him to choose the arena, and I could not will it changed.

This was a swampland. Misty, viney, lots of trees. And swamp.

The first thing that happened was that the roots of nearby trees sprung out and wrapped around me. I tried to will them away, but it did not work as I was panicing.

I somehow get loose anyway, and will my weaponry to me, this time choosing what I think is a power fist and power armour (influenced heavily by the game Fallout, I suppose). I levitate myself into the air and see the figure there, and I will for his arm to snap. It actually works. Horrified but seeing victory in my grasp, I do the same to his other arm and then, sickeningly, his back. He falls to the ground and the dream ends.

I'm not normally that malicious. It's almost got me worried. I wonder if I'll see the figure again someday?
