Folqueraine's Oniric Misadventures
Hello there! Okay, so I slightly lied in my topic's subtitle. This IS a dream journal. After all this is the Dream Journal forum, right? But this is not a journal written day after day. The thing is, I have kept a journal of my dreams in copybooks and in my computer for 6 years, and now I'll be telling them here, so many of those dreams will have happened a long time ago, which in a way is cool because I wan have a better look at them from here and now.
Uh, my dreams are also... weird. Okay, everybody's are, but mine are pretty exceptionnal in their lenght and the details. I have objectively an excellent dream recall (with down times, like everybody). Their are also very entertaining, say my friends. :laughhard: You will certainly agree if you have a fan of Harry Potter, the X-Men or Stargate heroes (my sleeping ego doesn't give a damn about copyright).
And they are in French, since I AM French, so I'll have to translate them. If you find some inexactitudes (does this mean something in English?), forgive me! (and point them out to me!) Recently I have been dreaming in English (living in England and everything) so when this is the case I'll underline it.
Have fun ! :welcome:
2 dreams, one of which extra complex
So let's start with the extra complex one.

At the beginning, I was a nun, in the 1930s-1940s and for some reason, me and a superior had to hide from other people. She guided me down some staircase that went very deep underground. The walls and the staris were made of a beige stone. At some point I noticed a room, to the West of the stairs, that was strangely light for something so deep. Then I somehow got separated from the older nun and decided to go back up to the world of the living.
I somehow turned into a young, typically post-war looking young lady. I was in a city that looked like Paris, and I was reunited with a young man I had tender feelings for and whom I hadn't seen for a very long time (because he was a soldier?). He looked like one of my mates from high school, Vincent. Vincent and me went for a ride in his (or mine?) car, a coupé from the 1940s too.
We started to discuss the result of the upcoming (actual) French presidential elections, being worried that Sarkozy would be elected. I worked in England and was back in France for a short time only. I wondered if he would accept to come and live with me in England if Sarko was elected.
Then we went back to were we came from, except that for some reason we were driving on a railway now. We arrived at a station where he disappeared and I hookep up with 2 older male friends. We went in the underground part of the station, which happened to be in Tokyo. There were all sorts of little shops selling pointless gadgets such as only the Japanese can make! Among other, I was amazed to find little porn figurines with the face of Emma Watson! But my mates were delighted.
Then we took a corridor to go upstairs and the station turned into a ferry, and I was with my parents. It was a very luxuous cruise ship, the kind we couldn't afford anyway. We saw that restaurant which looked very expensive, and had a french name which I have forgotten, except that there was "jeudi" (thursday) in it. We asked if we could have a table, and the waiter ask if we'd booked, to which we said yes, even if it wasn't true. He gave us a table someone else had booked. Unfortunately, the cuisine was pretty poor, and I protested, he said there were some sort of restrictions. What's more my parents and I were worried the people who had righfully booked the table would come and we would be uncovered.
The dream with the rocket launchers full of a green chemical

I'm walking on the sea shore with my parents, at about the place known as Pouldu. We can see flashes of light on the shore around the place known as Guidel, and also on the island of Groix. The flashes on the shore keep getting closer, until we realize that they are rockets that are being launched from the island (in this dream, there's a military base on Groix).
The rockets are getting ever closer, so that we start running away towards the east, but we realize the rockets are faster than us , so instead we choose to hide behind a wall (which just happened to be there).
The rockets explode, closer and closer, hitting rocks and trees. One of them explodes less than 6 feet away from me, covering me in a green, fluorescent liquid worthy of a B-movie. The liquid is slightly corrosive and covers about half of my body, and the whole of my right shoulder.
Flash forwards a few weeks: I suffer a lot from all the places touched by the green liquid, and a doctor diagnoses it as "rubella". Yeah, right.
The end of the dream is blurry, as I remember considering suing the military, and there being a scandal as the military, you know, isn't quite supposed to test unknown weapons on a highly frequented place...
The dream with the flooded cells, the patients and the evil little girl
http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/2581/genreabsurd.png
I'm riding around a moor known as Poulgolo, on a peninsula, on my bike. My grandmother and my uncle join me by car, and then head back home.
At this point I go to a piece of land owned by my family, where there is a blockhaus in which 6 cells are built. There are many of those blockhauses on the seashore from when France was occupied by the German army. The front of these cells is square-shaped, and its sides are between 2 and 3 feet high. There are 2 levels with 3 cells each. They form a "L", with 2 cells being perpendicular to the 4 others. The entrance to the cells is closed by rusty metallic bars which can't seem to open.
In each cell (which is deeper than it is large) there is a gurney, on which a patient is lying. There are men and women, and they all look terrible, pale, with traces of blood on their faces. I can't see the rest of their bodies because they're lying with their faces closer to the front of the cell.
I'm not really moved by their situation, until the tide starts flooding the bottom of their cells. The gurneys can float on water, but I'm worried that the tide may reach to top of the bottom cells, and thus cause the patients to drown. So I decide to find the hospital responsible for them so that someone come and take care of them.
I look at a map of the peninsula, but I can't seem to find the hospital. I then realize the map is only of the south-east of the peninsula, and then take a bigger map. I locate the hospital on the wild coast of the peninsula, not too far from Poulgolo.
As I'm getting ready to go there, I realize that my 6 patients are not in their cells anymore. A little girl with long, straight brown hair tells me that she's killed them to "prevent their suffering", with a smile both innocent and cruel.
At this point, things become blurry as I remember pursuing the little girl in the many paths of Poulgolo, and then being pursued by her as she turned out to be really evil :parapet:.
---
Poulgolo and the peninsula are actual places. They're very high above-sea level, so there's no way the tide could reach there. Thus I find it quite creepy that I dreamt of this extraordinary tide the same night the Samoa were flooded by a tidal wave.

First lucid in a year or so (DILD)
NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID
I was in a landscape of lush hills with random boulders, inspired by the videogame Oblivion. Along with my mother, I was running after a bear cub.
(what is it with me and bear cubs these days?)
I then wondered where on Earth I was and why I was running after a bear cub. "This must be a dream", I thought, and decided to perform a reality check by pushing one hand through the other. It didn't work.
"What? Wait, I've got to be dreaming! Let's count my fingers."
Nope, five fingers, all normal. I'm starting to doubt, so I close my eyes and shake my hand, wishing for new fingers to appear. When I open them, I've got about 7 or 8 fingers.
"This is it! I'm lucid!" I do it again and have ten, and then 3 fingers. I'm having a lot of fun.
I don't remember anything after this.
The dream where I married a King

The dream where I married a King (Non-lucid)

NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID
This was a long, detailed dream in a historical-fantasy setting. It was particularly fulfilling, I don't know why, perhaps because of the level of detail?
The dream took place in the early Middle Ages. At the beginning I was a serf or a peasant, perhaps even less, a nomad. I was a teenage girl with my father. We did not have a house to call our own, we lived in a tent made with hide, on a hill, on top of which was a castle.
It was winter and it was very cold. The wind made it hard to sleep at night. It was so cold that the wooden barrel we kept in the tent kept cracking, and exploding, so we took them outside. But it didn't snow, it was just ice-cold winds.
Some time later, we were attacked by sorts of Barbarians, but they were not cruel, and I was actually rejoiced because I thought it was an occasion to get out of this dead-end life.
I ended up making love with one of the Barbarians in the tent.
Then I was taken to the castle with other women and I was married to one of the Kings. I wasn't too enthusiastic about it but I didn't protest to much because serf to Queen isn't that bad a change.
At some point my husband asked me to go to the Church with him (it was actually a chapel inside the castle) I was reluctant, but I finally agreed. I took our son with us.
As we were sitting along with other nobility, I expected the mass to start, but the men who appeared were other noblemen, who started presenting some strategy to our husbands the Kings. I understood that my husband had known all along that it was actually a pre-fight debriefing, but he wanted to know whether I would come if told it was but a mass. In a way, I had passed a test.
I didn't understand anything that the men were talking about, so I paid attention to my husband and my baby.
What followed was a funny moment of in-universe awareness.
As I looked at our baby, I told my husband I couldn't believe we'd been together for a year already. I said "It feels like it was yesterday that I married you." I had grown fond of my husband since the wedding.
I held my husband's hand. At this point in the dream, my husband was a fair-skinned Black, while he'd been white in the beginning of the dream.
