A Journey Into Lucidia

I guess the best place to start would be a little about myself. I go through periods of lucidity that are as elusive as the messages hidden within them. I have been dreaming my entire life, they are my source of creativity and inspiration. This will be the first time I have shared the strange world in my head with others. I will not apologize for any of my thoughts, some may be a little dark and twisted. I believe that it is the nature of dreams to show us whatever we need to see. I hope that whoever reads this can appreciate and enjoy my honesty, I'll try not to leave too much out. However there will, of course, be omitted entries that remain too personal to share. I am open to whatever feedback you have for me, and look forward to hearing from you.

Sometimes the graphic nature of my dreams suprizes me. Last night I found myself in a large four story house. There was a party in progress, it was for witches. The house was full of witches casting spells and talking amongst themselves over drinks. I was in a bedroom at the back of the house. There was an older witch there and two young girls. The girls were identical twins around the age of 12-14. Their hair was straight and black and ran down over their shoulders. Their skin was very pale, but not sickly. The woman with us was their mother. She was explaining to the twins that one of them was an accident and never supposed to exist. The twin that she was talking to seemed very sad, and gave me a look of pleading, to help her. I sat and watched, unable to do anything. The mother finished by telling the girl to go into the kitchen and slit her wrists to correct the "mistake". The girl obediently went into the next room and out of my vision, although I could still see her. She took a kitchen knife and without hesitation cut deeply into her wrist. She made no sound. The blood that gushed down her wrists was sickening. I then realized that her blood was trickling down MY back even though she was nowhere near me. It came from behind my neck and slowly oozed over my chest, the feeling of the warm liquid made me want to vomit, yet I still did not move. I just sat and watched, feeling incredibly sad and disheartened by what had just happened. I then got up and ran outside. I collapsed to the ground and cried, I cried as hard as I ever have in my life. Sobbing and heaving on the ground, I remained curled up holding my head.

When I got back up I went around to the back yard, at this point the girl was mostly out of my mind. The witches were having a bar-b-q. There was a talking cat on top of the roof that was apparently anoying the hell out of everyone. The witches had tied barbed wire around it's neck and were getting ready to throw him off. The cat was terrified and trying to talk his way out of the ordeal. The witches were not phased and threw him down. The cat screamed and cursed. Just as he was about to hit the ground the witches stoped him in mid air and returned him to the roof. Frightened and releaved the cat looked around meanly at the witches for their sick joke. He then took it upon himself to finish the job, because at this point he no longer wanted to live with these evil people. He jumped from the roof again, this time ready to die. I saw him falling and willed him to stop. Somehow he slipped out of the barbed wire and suddenly had a red cape that doubled up as a parachute. He landed safely and ran off.

I began the dream at the base of a dark mountain. I was on another Outward Bound courses and had a few friends with me. There were many men in some sort of military uniform, they were harvesting a field to my right and many of them ran up and down the street with purpose. I found one of my friends in the crowd and she told me that I needed to climb the mountain and go through the cave at the top. As soon as she was done telling me this one of the uniformed men came up to her and ordered her to come with him. The men were all very cold and determined at whatever tasks they had, passive about anything else around them. One of them crabbed a small girl and dragged her away, I felt awful that I could not do anything. I proceeded up the hill and into the cave, on the way up a couple more friends appeared. I did not know them by appearance but felt that I recognized them as trustworthy.

In the cave there was a pool of water that we had to swim through. The cave was short and went directly through the mountains peak. Sunshine from the other side lit the short, curvy tunnel. After swimming through the small pool we stopped to rest at the other end. At this point one of my friends revealed two small phials. She handed one to me with a worried expression on her face. She told me that there was a small creature in both the bottles. She then told me that she was trying to get them into intensive care for some reason. I looked down at the phial the handed me and opened it up. I poured the contents out into my hand. I was a strange little thing resembling a baby rat except that it was totally clear. The tail was about seven inches long and black. I looked at it for a second and it began to move. It expanded and shot out small limbs. The little guy remained clear but a fragile bone structure could be seen. As it continued to expand I could see that its feet were webbed and toes with small sticky pads, like a tree frog. At last it sprouted tiny wings, it had become a little, translucent combination of a frog and a dragon. As it sat in the palm of my hand I looked up to see that the other one had done the same thing. When I looked back to my hand I felt it jump up and fly back down into the water. I chased after it, swimming under the water with almost no resistance I tried to herd it back into my friend. It became a game and eventually it just came up to me. I introduced myself to the creature like you would a cat and it hopped up onto my shoulder and came with me back to my waiting friends.

The next part was a little foggy. All I remember is floating down a white water river for a while.

After the river scene I ended up at a log cabin in the middle of the woods. I was still on my Outward Bound course and had many of friends there that I recognized. It was fall and all of the leaves were very brilliant yellows and oranges. There was a sunset that made everything glow warmly. I can remember talking to a couple of my friends and one of my old instructors. I then walked up to the dirt road in front of the house and watched as a dirt bike flew over the road and up the hill. He flew up a sharp, twenty foot rise on the other side and landed safely. A car drove up and the girl I had met at the base of the mountain got out. She told us that the military had screwed us over and were coming to kill us. I rushed into the cabin. As I put my snowboarding helmet and goggles on I recognized my grand mom Erlene. She was washing dishes. I was about to leave when I decided to go and give her a hug goodbye. As I was hugging her she told me that my deiced grandfather work for Outward Bound, and that's why she was here. She also told me that he was productive he was a great man but he had a darkness within him that grew every now and again that totally consumed him. She said that he was not even recognizable when he was like that. I felt horrible because it sounded if she was explaining me. I left the house and hopped onto one of the dirt bikes to jump up the hill. It was a crazy jump and I landed it solidly.

I looked out into a large field. The sky was now overcast and it was much darker. There was a small, snow covered barn near us. Next to it were two white wolves that were the pets of one of the instructors. One was trying to jump up onto the roof of the barn. It shot up awkwardly into the sky a few times, each time it must have jumped about twenty feet. As it gave up, its feet burst into flames. The man next to me it was how these wolves cooled off. I looked to the other wolf, its feet were burning too, but it was more like a white fire. It looked incredibly hot and it was too bright to look into.

The journey for me stopped here and my consciousness shifted to watching two brothers that were ahead of us. They had broken into some sort of military complex. It looked like an outdoors factory nestled into a vast marshland. They seemed to be shipping something. The brothers were handcuffed together for some reason. The older one went up to a guard and hit him hard in the face. This caused a great commotion and the boys went running into the marsh. The guard manned a large crossbow and shot very heavy bolts after them. The brothers fell flat to their faces and submerged themselves into the shallow water. When the firing had ceased the younger brother got up. The handcuff was off and he reached over to his older brother to pull him up. He was terrified to see his brother dead, floating just under the surface staring at him. The young boy began to run through the water away from his dead brother. When he stopped to look around, he found himself in the middle of two huge conveyor wires. On the wires were plastic coat hangers with very large and bulky jackets hanging from them. The coats dragged through the water, both heading the same direction. He looked down into the water to see more bodies floating under the surface. As the boy moved closer to the coats he could see that there were bodies in them, dead ones. Sickened, he realized what the military was doing with all of the prisoners they took in. The boy wanted to know where they were going so climbed into one of the empty coats. He was sandwiched in-between the corpses. As he moved slowly forward I began to look through his eyes.

I merged with the boy now and got a certain degree of control back. I looked across the low water to the other row of coats. I saw something that made me sick to my stomach. It was the little girl that I had seen at the beginning of the dream, the one that had been carried away. Was dead, she hung loosely in one of the coats and seemed to be looking at me. As I looked away I realized that we were coming into a large building. There was death all about. Bodies that had fallen off the wire and not cleaned up were now rotting. It was disgusting. At this point I began to feel myself waking. Not feeling too eager to try to hold on to this one I let myself wake up.

Last night I had another one of those epic dreams that seemed to last forever. From what I remember I started off in a huge airport. Once again there was a group of people after me for some reason or another. I can remember running and hiding from a government organization dressed in black suits. My family was there and I can remember being very hungry and grabbing a crappy microwave sandwich from a vending machine. For some reason my dad was working for another group of agents, he was in the middle of some sort of test. The test was something to do with keeping my family safe as the other agents were attacking. Then someone was kidnapped, someone close to me although I didn't recognize her. As the men took her away, they left one of their younger recruits behind to keep us at bay while they escaped. I chased the agent down and attacked him by jumping from a higher floor and surprising him before he could shoot me. When I was about o kill him I realized that he was someone I knew. He was the son of my fathers boss. I ended up just talking to him and figuring out where the bad guys were headed.

The next thing I remember was following them out of the airport and into the ocean. The government agents had escaped on a large cargo ship. I had a very advanced submarine that I and a group of random dream characters used to follow them out to sea. I used a small "dinghy" submarine to make it up on to the ship. The crew spotted me almost instantly and began their attack. They shot all of my crew but I managed to escape behind a large coal boiler. The ship had many hidden guns that shot at me, hitting me occasionally. The bullets hurt but didn't stop me from continuing. I saw the girl, she was in a small heavyweight cage at the other end of the ship. I ran down the length of the ship, the agents shouting and shooting at my back. I ducked down into a pile of boxes only ten feet away. My vision snapped back to the back end of the ship, two disgruntled worker were talking to one another about screwing the agents over. They disconnected the chains to a large truck and let it roll off of the ship. As the truck rolled off, the ship tipped to the rear and let a large wave of water rush through the ship washing the cage and myself off of the ship. I dove down after the cage to save the girl. I attached a rope to it and the submarine pulled us back to safety.

After the escape, the girl I saved and I found ourselves on a large plantation, the sky was dark but it was warm outside. A large group of people were relaxing in a small pond with drinks in their hands. The people had brought a large tarp that they all stood on in the water. I think the purpose of it was to keep their feet from sinking into the muck at the bottom of the pond. I remember seeing someone sneaking up on the group in the water. only his hat showed but I could tell that his intentions were not good. I stopped him and pulled him up above the water. He tried to strike out at me but I stabbed him with a knife that I was carrying. The group was greatfull but I remember getting blood on the collar of my shirt. I had to go back to a small shack that was apparently my room. I took the shirt off and tried to clean the stains. It was a very expensive shirt and I came to the conclusion that it was ruined. Then I awoke.
