      Smile Soft Paw's Dream Journal

NOTE: To make it easier to read, dreams are blue, Lucids are red, and all the black is notes and thoughts.

Well, I have finally actually started this. I have been thinking about it for several months. I have been writing my dreams down for quite some time now, but I type a lot faster (and a lot neater ) than I write.

Now, I have no idea if anyone dreams in a similar way to me, but I have almost always been able to control a dream (when I want to) without even knowing that it's a dream. As I type up previous dreams, you might see exactly what I mean by that.

      Most Memorable Dream

This is from a VERY long time ago... probably about 7 years ago when I was 9, and it was the first dream when I had the ability to change the structure of the dream without it being an LD.

I was running through an ancient temple. Aztec I think. There were at least 20 people chasing me, but I have no idea who they were or anything. I came out of the corridor I was in and found myself in a large, open area, kinda like a town square or something. There was a raised platform in the middle with sloping sides. I ran across it and into a small alcove on the opposite side. The people were closer now, and I knew that I couldn't hide, and if I tried to run, they would catch me faster.

Suddenly I became aware of someone else beside me. I also knew that he would help me. It may sound strange, but he taught me how to walk through walls. After explaining it, he walked through the wall. I pushed my hand against the wall and tried to get through, but I couldn't. I turned and saw the people getting very close, and yet they were still a long way off (yes, it confuses me as well). Again, I put my hand on the wall. I felt the rough yellow stone, and reached out with my mind. Then I felt it... a tiny crack. I pushed harder and harder, both with my mind and my hand, and within seconds the wall became almost like a liquid. I quickly stepped through, and found the boy on the other side, smiling. He just said "I knew you could do it".

I'm not sure if there was actually anymore to the dream, but that is all I remember of it. It was... strange, but a wonderful experience.

I expect that it sounds strange... but hey, it's a dream. Soon I will type up more, but that's it for now - hope you enjoy the read.

Dreams can be very powerful. Once you control your dreams, you can control that power. With great power come great responsibility

I had been looking through my written journal, and I realised that some of the things in them will need explaining, so I will get it out of the way now. Ever since that boy told me how to walk through walls in dreams, I have had ever-increasing control without breaking into lucidity. A good example of this is a dream I had quite recently...

I was in a very tall building, mostly made of glass. It reminded me of the building in I, Robot. I knew exactly what the main part of the building looked like, but I wasn't there. I was in a small room off to the side. It was a plain metal room, with only a single door. In the middle was and object which I had never seen before, but I knew that it was some sort of vehicle, and I had built it. My old D.T teacher was talking to me about my 'project'. He said that although my project was very good, he needed one of the crucial parts for another students' work. When I looked back at it, I saw objects floating in front of it... sort of purple blocks. I knew that if I touched one, something along the lines of great pain would occur. I also knew that the piece he needed would stop them from working. I didn't want to give it to him, so he started throwing insults at me, and I just ran to a corner and curled up in a ball.

      This is the important bit:

I (as in me, my conscious mind, not me in the dream) decided that I had had enough, and even though I didn't KNOW it was a dream, I knew that I wanted to stop it, to wake up, so in my mind, I moved my hand and pushed the ` key on a non-existent keyboard (also known as the console key). As soon as I did that, I saw a box appear in front of me. Once again, I used my mind to type the word 'exit' then enter. And I woke up.

I expect some of you will recognise this from Half-Life 2. For those of you who don't know, it's a game. I actually get this quite a lot - I don't like how a dream is going so I 'exit' and wake up. So far it has NEVER failed me. It's kinda weird though. Well, the fact that I do that suggests that I play games too much, but the strange bit is HOW I do it. I don't create a keyboard in front of me, or even find one in the dream. I just imagine it. Another weird sensation is when I can only SEE one place (whatever I see through my 'dream eyes', but then at the same time, I know exactly what another place in the dream looks like (the other side of a wall for example) AND also be imagining other places (either from real life or just an imaginary place). Like this, I can sometimes see up to about 10 places at once, but only ever be in one place, and it has never been confusing, which is confusing in its self.

Anyway, please tell me if this is normal, unusual or if I am just completely insane.
