      What Sky Saw

I am keeping a dream journal at home, and don't have the time or inclination to write all the details here. Instead, I thought I'd share just the lucid ones as well as what led up to becoming lucid.

I will start with last night's dream and go forward from there.

I will use the following color conventions:
      Dream signs are in green
      Reality checks are in red
Lucid sections of dreams are in purple

I had a dream about a particular real-life person who has harmed my family. I do not wish to go into detail about this person, but let's just call him Mr. Jim. He is one of my dream signs as well.

The Fire Task, Mr. Jim, and Silvia

I was staying at a secluded house somewhere with my wife and my immediate family. My oldest brother had a new young wife in the dream (he's divorced in real life). Mr. Jim was also there, much to my chagrin.

I realized at one point that Mr. Jim was going to harm my brother's wife, and went to protect her. I began slamming him against the wall and punching him in the head. He is usually the only one I ever act violently toward in my dreams, by the way. He eventually went back to the room he was staying in, and I cautiously went to sleep in the next room over with my wife.

After a little bit, he came into our room, lit a match, and dropped it into my eye. I got up, and another fight broke out. But suddenly he disappeared, and I thought he must have turned invisible. I went to the phone to call 911 (emergency number in US).

It was an old rotary type phone with too many finger holes, and without the numbers written, so I had to count to dial each digit. I kept dialing incorrectly and reaching the wrong people. The frustration was mounting, but so were the dream signs, and it was enough to make me realize I was dreaming. (No RC was necessary).

The first thing I did was purely reactionary and quite violent. I conjured up Mr. Jim and ripped off his leg. Then I threw it through a glass window, breaking it. Then I took a moment to calm down, clear the scene, and start fresh.

I began trying to teach my oldest brother how to fly, but he was getting frustrated, only managing little hops. Then I was talking to my sister in the kitchen of the house I grew up in. I remembered the Lucid task for June, and decided to try it. I took a paper towel and lit it using the burner on the stove. Then I threw it into the middle of the kitchen. There was bright dancing light, but I had to concentrate to make it more fire-like. Then I got in the middle and let it "burn" me. My sister was quite impressed.

I told her she could do things too, like fly for example. She immediately got excited, jumped out a window, and smashed to the ground. I told her to start a little slower.

I tried to convince my other brother that I could make things disappear. I tried to make a chess set disappear by stepping on it, but instead it just changed into a simple wooden children's puzzle with about 6 pieces. At least it was something!

In the last part of the dream, I met a woman and her two daughters. She was Hispanic and somewhat attractive... probably in her 30s. Her name was Silvia, her older daughter was Calvia, and the youngest was Anne (but went by "Anana"). We talked briefly, but I forget the content.

Finally, I had a false awakening, and spent time in my dream looking for a pen to write it all down (this is very typical for me). My mother tried to help me remember the names of the three people (talk about a missed incongruity!). Eventually, I woke up for real, and still had to find a pen!

Had sort of a rollar-coaster of lucidity last night. Much of it has been forgotten. The problem is that I woke up to write it all down, but it turns out that was a false awakening, so it never got recorded That seems to be my regular pattern now. Every LD seems to end in a FA.

      Night of the Wubbin

The dream: I was becoming very friendly with a young woman who was an artist of some sort. She made these crazy books with collages and poetry in them. She was a little nutty, but we got along well. Eventually, things got a bit sexual, and we were fooling around in her bedroom. I was somewhat lucid at this point, though I don't recall how that happend.

Several times I went through the cycle of feeling the dream starting to fade, waking up, then going back and resuming the dream. The funny thing is I never actually woke up during this whole time! I was bouncing back and forth between LD and FA, and each time continuing the same sex dream.

Eventually, I realized what was happening, and decided to change the story up (bye-bye, fantasy girl!) I found myself in a quaint little street scene. I decided that I would finally try my own suggestion for a LD, and wanted to conjure up a Wubbin (follow the link to see what this is). Although I had suggested it in the first place some time ago, I had never remembered to try it in a dream.

As per my own instructions, I called out "Is there a Dinky Dream representative here?" and a man in a green shirt riding an unusual tall bicycle came riding over. I asked him if I could have a Wubbin, and he handed me one. When I looked at it, I saw it was smaller than anticipated, didn't have the readout screen, and the lettering was not colored. I was a little disappointed and asked him if there was a better one. He said "Sorry -- it's still just a prototype." Arrrgggh!

So I decided to try bouncing it around to see if it worked as I had described it. It didn't work very well. The best I could manage was a double bounce, and it didn't make its way back to my hand unless I really struggled to catch it. In other words, it worked more or less like a typical rubber ball. The worst part is it sometimes would turn into a loose mound of paper scraps, and I had to squeeze it back together into a ball shape. I sure do hope Dinky Toys gets their act together soon!

That too funny! I never expected anyone to actually dream about a Wubbin!

It seemed pretty shoddy though. Maybe it was a knock off Wubbin, just a cheap imitation. You gotta be careful what you get off those people in the street!

hehe... yes, well he did warn me that it was just a prototype. Maybe he would have given me the real deal if I had remembered to tip him!

Does a Wubbin explode with deadly shrapnel? Otherwise it is of no interest to me.

A brief but very conscious lucid dream for me last night:

      The Sumo Popsicle

I was in a restaurant which had the gimmick of having people eat at tables located on mini frozen above-ground swimming pools. There was an extremely large Japanese Sumo wrestler type customer who was walking from his table when the ice broke, and he plunged into the frigid waters. He was shivering, and could barely keep his head above water. I yelled for someone to drain the pool, and as the water level slowly started lowering, I managed to get him out of the pool.

We were just outside of the house I grew up in for some reason, and I asked him if he had the strength to walk inside so we could get him some blankets. He didn't, and collapsed, sitting against a parked car. I was afraid he was going to die of hypothermia, so I sat next to him and held him for a long time while we waited for help.

Eventually, he said he could walk, and we went inside just as it was getting dark. I went looking for a blanket in my old bedroom, but the light wouldn't turn on. I instantly recognized the dream sign, and though I still thought I might be awake, I decided to do a reality check.

I looked at my hands one at a time to see if they appeared normal. Right hand: one, two, three, four, five fingers... everything normal. Then the left: one, two, three, four, five, six fingers! Holy cow! I was dreaming and lucid!

I felt that I would wake soon, so I tried as best I could to just make the experience as real as possible, without going off on a story line somewhere. I looked out the window and saw the house across the street had little white Christmas lights in the bushes out front. Things were a little blurry, so I concentrated on making everything come into focus. I put my hand on the window sill to feel it, and it was vividly realistic to the touch. I felt the solidity of the wood in my hand, and was happy I was getting such realism, even as I struggled to stay asleep.
Reality won out, and I woke up.

For the next hour or so, I did some mild WILDs in and out of half dreamland.

wow very nice experiences..lol i wander what happened to the summo dude..u probably thought he didnt matter to u anymore i would have done the same thing though because paying too much attention to him would probably make u go non-lucid again...but wow loved them..i was fond to gain lucidity at will when i started to experience LD but didnt know what it was untill i searched on google: knowing when you're in a dream" lol worked and i finally recognized LDs..

A Very interesting night! I'll shorten the non-lucid parts a bit.

      Toby says Thank You

I dreamed that after an argument with my wife, she started talking about divorce. I was upset and trying to talk to her about it when I had a false awakening. In the false awakening, I got up, and told my wife about the dream. She looked at me with sort of sad eyes and told me that she really DID want a divorce!

"This is crazy," I thought. "Time to do a reality check!" I looked at a digital clock, but instead of showing the time, it showed a two-digit number. Just to confirm, I looked away and back at it, and the number had changed. Lucid Power!

My wife was still there, and I told her I was no longer worried about the divorce, since it was a dream, and dismissed her. I then floated down the stairs, and came across our cat, Toby. I had already done last month's task of talking to an animal, but I had really wanted to talk to Toby, so I went up to him and said "Toby... what do you think of me?"

He looked at me, but seemed unable to speak. I asked him again a couple of times, encouraging him, and telling him that he could speak. Finally, he said in a very weak voice "Thank you for..." I couldn't quite hear what he was thanking me for, but it was nice.

At this point, I began to feel myself waking up.
And this I did... but to yet another false awkening! In this dream I got up to go to the bathroom, and was thinking about my lucid dream when it occurred to me: EVERY LUCID DREAM I'VE HAD LATELY HAS ENDED IN A FALSE AWAKENING --Tadaa! My new reality check! I thought for a minute, and realized I was still dreaming! Bam! Lucid again!

Blindness, Rubber Balls, and the Dreamviews Social

For some reason, even though I was lucid, I thought that I had to "go back to sleep" to become fully lucid, so I lay down in my bed and closed my eyes. Then I found myself back in an earlier scene, but I couldn't really open my eyes. It was as if I could see through my eyelids, but everything was difficult to make out, and all was sort of red and orange, as if looking through my eyelids at a source of light. I could see the shapes of things around me, and could interact with everything. At one point I bounced a handful of rubber balls around and watched them in my little monochromatic view.

Slowly things started becoming more colorful and real, thank goodness. I then remembered the July task of meeting other people from dreamviews. I called out "Is there anyone from dreamviews here?" I tried my best to conjure someone, including digging through a barrel of clothes, drawing a picture of a person to animate, and other crazy things. At one point I found a little doll head of Popeye the Sailor, and started building a little doll that I thought would be a dreamviews user for some reason. While I was doing that, I looked up, and saw through a glass wall about eight people having a little gathering on an outdoor terrace. I knew immediately that it was a group of dreamviews oneironauts!!

I thought I'd make a classy entry and walk through the glass wall. I felt certain I could pass through it, though when I bumped against it, a door instantly appeared where I was, and opened to let me out. Not what I was going for, but a cool enough entry!

I tried to get some names, but couldn't understand or remember who I was talking to. I remember quite clearly what two of the people looked like, but I don't think I've seen them before. One of them did look a little like EvanEvanEvan in the top picture there, but he was wearing nerdy black glasses, and a nerdy green and white checkered shirt.

I said to Nerd-Evan "Wow! I'm very lucid now! Everything is extremely clear!" I reached out and felt his shirt against my fingers. Everything was so concrete. I asked him "Are you super lucid right now too?" and he just sort of shrugged. Then I said "I guess everyone here would have to be about the same as lucid, otherwise we couldn't meet!

I talked to another woman there who told me how she had to conjure up an important "doctor" to impress the guard to let her into the party without a reservation. Very clever of her!

Then I woke up because my cat was howling for some reason.

      July 16

A week since my last lucid (damn you, Lunesta!), but I got a short one last night. Although I didn't get to do much in the brief time I had, I found everything getting still a little easier.

      My Ex, the Electrician

I can't recall the original dream, only that I suddenly suspected I was dreaming. I decided I was lucid without the RC, and that I would simply fly. I was in the upper hall of the house I grew up in, took a running start, and dove forward. I didn't exactly fly (usually easy for me), but just sort of did a very long dive into my old bedroom, sliding on the floor laughing at the end.

"Ok, fine," I thought. "I'll do the darn reality check, if that's what my dream wants!" I looked at my hand (my new standard check), and saw six or seven fingers on it, and felt satisfied.

A side note about the hand examination RC here. This is now my "go-to" check. At least one of my hands usually has more than the proper number of fingers when I take a good hard look at them. Some of this is due to expectation, I believe. I am already assuming I am dreaming, and I now expect the extra fingers. This in turn reinforces the possibility of the check "failing" as intended.

I noticed how dark everything was, and decided I really wanted to see things better. This has lately been what I've been trying to improve. Outside was night, and many bright stars were shining... perhaps too many and too brightly, but it was still dark (no moon). Inside the light was off. I suspected that the lightswitch would not work, but I tried some simple affirmation before switching it on. "It will work," I said out loud. Unfortunately, it didn't. The damn things never do!

So I turned my attention to the window, and tried to turn night into day, but this was very difficult as well. Then I said out loud "The sun will rise in one minute," and indeed it did! Suddenly everything was bright and clear, just as I had been working for.

I looked out the window intending to see a person, and there walking up the street was my girlfriend "Z" from years ago. I called out to her "come here," and she looked up at me, and then came into the house.

She was wearing a long heavy black coat, which felt very rough (wool) and very real when I touched it. She wanted to talk to me, but first she had to "use her key," and began unlocking what looked like an electrical box on the wall.

I immediately felt myself being pulled awake, and nothing I tried would continue the dream. Nor could I return to it later... very disappointing. But I was happy to have had my first in a week.

      Thumbs up July 17

My second lucid night in a row, and a very successful one! I had many brief false awakenings, followed by my drifting immediately back into lucidity... either into the same scene, or a new one. My new "waking up" RC is really starting to pay off!

      Forest and Frolicking

I don't recall the beginning of the dream, but at one point I was supposed to meet my wife at the library where she works, and hit a woman with the van I was driving (difficulty driving). I wasn't going fast, and only grazed her, but she said she needed an ambulance. I asked my mother to call one on her cell, but she didn't know if she should call 911 or some other number (emergency phone trouble). I was very upset because I needed to meet my wife, and didn't know how to call her. Also, my teeth kept falling out of my mouth as if I had dentures. I put them back in, and a few splintered out separately.

Finally I met my wife just as she was trying to hail a cab, and she was furious at me. I told her what happened, and showed her how my teeth kept falling out, and remarked that it was just like the crazy teeth-falling-out dream I occasionally have... then it struck me, and I was instantly lucid! The DS was so obvious, that I didn't even need a reality check. I looked at my wife and said "Aha! It's a dream! Come on... let's fly around!" I tried to get her excited, but she wasn't too interested, so I just dismissed her.

I tried to fly, but was having a lot of trouble. Flying is usually second nature to me, but this is two nights in a row where I couldn't quite manage it.

I found myself in a secluded park with many very large trees all around. I decided to look for my old dear friend and onetime lover "D" who now lives in France. In real life I had recently told her about lucid dreaming, and promised I would try to dream about her. I looked for her telling myself several times that she would be "behind this tree," only to find nothing on the other side.

Then I decided I could more easily find her behind a door, so I created a door in the trunk of a large tree. It had a nail in place of a doorknob, and opened with a loud creak. Then I found myself inside a dark house, and began going room to room to look for D, but to no avail.

I then decided I would just imagine she were there even though I couldn't see her. I held my arms around a space I imagined her to be, and tried to create her from inside my hug. A form appeared, but it was not D... it was my old girlfriend Z whom I dreamed about the previous night, though looking a little slimmer and wilder. We were starting to get a little romantic when I started slipping from the dream into my first FA.

When I managed to slip back into lucidity, I was amongst a number of beautiful women, and decided to let things go in a more sexual direction. It had been a very long time since I explored lucid sex, and was in the mood to explore it again.

I made love to two women, though I don't remember much of the first. I stopped with the first when I saw the second. When we made eye contact, I felt immediately and powerfully drawn to her. She was beautiful and had a very "international" look, possibly of Indian, African, and Pacific Island descent. She had medium length straight black hair, and very striking features. Everything about her was so amazingly real. I really think the "reality" level of my dreams is getting better and better.

As we made love, she kept looking in my eyes and smiling. I reached out and felt her hair, and it was so tangible, so very real in my hand. It was just a bit coarse, and some short hairs went down the back of her neck a bit. Her skin was smooth, brown, and beautiful. Her armpits were shaven, but probably not since the previous day. Little details like that really blow me away. I can still recall exactly what she looked like.

Eventually I woke up, but this was the longest and most vivid LD of mine to date. The sexual feelings themselves were much more real than any previous LD I 've had.

Cool dreams. Hand checking used to be my best RC, but it seems to be failing me now. My SC takes a while, but it usually catches on to what I'm doing and tries to thwart me. It is stupid, yet dedicated.

I'm finding hand checking more and more reliable each time, probably because lately I've been assuming it's a dream, whereas previously I had just been questioning if it were a dream. It's almost as if I'm saying to myself, "Ok... let's see how many extra fingers I'll find this time!"

Still I think trying to read may be more reliable for me, but there's not always something there to read. Hands, on the other hand () are always there. Or if they're not... that's a pretty dead giveaway too!

Great lucid. You caught on quit, dismissed the troublesome DC and stayed focused on your task. Until a better task came along.

Hardly worth posting this one, but I did become lucid momentarily.

I was driving in a car with my wife, and everything just seemed very wild and crazy for some reason. I was looking at the digital clock in the car, and it was on the fritz. I raised my trusty seven-fingered right hand, and was literally thrown into lucidity... everything around me just disappeared, including my wife. I was left alone in the middle of the road.

I immediately remembered that I have a standing dream-date with TwoShadows at the malt shop, but woke before I could manage to even try to find her.

When you are missing fingers, does it look like they've been burned off or cut off ever? That happens to me sometimes; it's kind of gross. Other times they are deformed.

I haven't had missing fingers yet... only extras. It started with one extra on my left hand, and now my right pretty regularly has seven fingers. I'm now to the point where I just expect it to have seven, and get to lucid pretty consistently.

I had a non-lucid in which I talked about lucid dreaming extensively with my oldest brother. He claimed he did it all the time! I don't remember much about that one, but later...

      23 Bright Braid Street

I went to a movie with my wife, Sass, called "The Puzzle." Getting in was an annoying affair that involved trading in a Metro fare card, getting free AA batteries in change, going through the back of a record shop, and re-ordering the drawers in a dresser so that we could open the door to the theater.

We made it in just in time, trying to find our ways in the dark. Sass had put a sheet over her head for that "ghost-at-Halloween" look. We found her two friends (a married couple from Boston) sitting in the back row. He was smoking a cigarette, which I was annoyed at.

"They let you smoke in here?" I asked. "Yes, thank God!" he said. "Well do you mind not? It's really bothering me." He refused to put it out, saying this was the only place he was allowed.

I said I was moving to another seat and asked Sass to join me, but she wanted to stay with her friends. I got really pissed, and said "Well I'm going home then. You can get a ride with your friends!"

I left the theater and started walking up the street. There were some old-fashioned cars on the street. I was chilly as it was autumn, and I for some reason was not wearing a shirt. No shirt! ....

"I am dreaming!" I told myself. I looked in my hands and saw my car keys. I held them both hands, and jingled them up and down. This worked really well as an anchor to the dream, much like hand-rubbing. They also looked really interesting... sort of a swirl of shiny metal as they moved around.

I had been joking with Twoshadows for awhile about going on a dream date at a malt shop, so I really wanted to conjure her up. I started calling out for her, but then I remembered someone here had recently suggested going to a house and ringing the bell to find someone.

I found a quaint little blue house with a little porch. On the house was a little wooden sign with the number "23" and a word on it. I'm not 100% sure I remember this correctly, but I think the word was "Being." I knocked twice on the door, and rang the doorbell, which was on the wrong side of the door. Someone opened the door, and I asked if Twoshadows were there. I could hear someone talking from another level down, and I knew it was her. She came walking up the stairs, putting on a denim jacket. I thought I'd have to explain who I was, but she already knew. She looked pretty much like her avatar picture, except she was wearing glasses.

I wanted to hug her, imagining that we were old friends finally reunited. The hug was a bit awkward though, and I suddenly remembered that we had never met before. I remember actually saying that it sucked I'd have to write in my journal tomorrow that it was awkward! (and here it is! )

We went outside together, and started walking up the street. Leaves were blowing around. I said "Did you know you live at number 23?" To which she replied "Cool!" Then we decided to look for a street sign to see what street she lived on. And there it was... the street she lived on: "Bright Braid St."

I asked if she brought her camera, and she showed it to me. I said "You HAVE to take some pictures! We have to see what happens!" We both thought the concept of taking dream pictures was very cool, and joked that we'd have to find a shop in the dream to develop them.

Twoshadows wanted to sit down, so we sat on the bumper of an old car. "This is a little chilly," she said to me. I could tell that she was hinting that since I was in control, I should do something about it. I closed my eyes, snapped my fingers, and we appeared on a warm beach, lying on the sand. This scene was not nearly as clear, and I guess the shock of the change, or my having closed my eyes was enough to jolt me out of the whole thing.

I woke up. Unfortunately, we never made it to the malt shop, but it was fun to finally dream about a specific DV member. Hi Twoshadows!

      Hi Twoshadows!
      Hi Skysaw...

I'll comment again about this in your DJ, because it is such a cool dream, and for some reason I like it....

Well the street name isn't close, but the number is. I live at number 26.

I'm not 100% sure I remember this correctly, but I think the word was "Being."
And I don't have that by my front door either. I wonder where that came from. But it's cool that you remembered that.

Anyway, I want to say again that that is an awesome dream. Thanks for having me show up.

      Welcome to my journal! Yay!

I'm really glad neither of these was correct. Otherwise, you'd probably have assumed I was a stalker! I thought the street name was pretty interesting. It's also funny that we both were looking for the street sign, and saw it at the same time, pointing up to it. We also both had a little trouble reading what it said at first. But neither of us was surpised, since we knew it was a dream and reading would be hard, hehe.

Thanks for coming! By the way, do you ever wear glasses in real life, or have a blue denim jacket?

      You're welcome...

But no, I don't wear glasses....I used to have a denim jacket, but I haven't had it for years now.

      July 27

I waited a couple of days before writing this down, so a lot of it has already slipped from my mind. That's unfortunate, because it was a pretty eventful evening. Two complete lucids, and I added two more reality checks to my permanent list. But I've forgotten some of the lucid content.

      I have a Tattoo Where??
I was searching for my parked car everywhere, and couldn't find it. I started pressing the little button on my keychain, and hearing the little "chirp" from my car. I tried to follow the chirp, and eventually, I saw it was coming from a car that wasn't mine. It was similar, but not the same. But since my key fit, I took it!

I started driving over these undulating hills, and was thinking about the whole car trouble, when I suddenly realized I was dreaming. My test for this was simply to try something crazy... I decided that the next hill would go straight down forever on the other side. The car topped the hill, and went sailing straight downward. It was a lot of fun! I made the car recover, and went over another hill trying it again.

Then I stopped the car, and decided to try something I had read about on the forums here... changing gender. I had only to think of it for a moment, and there I was, still sitting in the car, naked, and a woman! I noticed I had some colorful tattoos, including on my thighs and on my sides coming up onto my breasts. I explored a bit, but will leave the details out of this public journal. Suffice it to say it was fun, enlightening, and rated at least NC-17.

Every once in awhile, the car would start moving again, and I'd go over one more crazy hill. Then I'd stop the car, and continue what I was doing. I evenutally slipped into a normal dream.

      Dream Lost, Dreamsign Found
My wife and I were preparing for a party. Evidently, it was my birthday. She had made a cake, but it was unfinished. For some reason, there was a page of newspaper on top of it instead of icing. I kept telling her that the party would be starting soon, and that she needed to get dressed and also finish the cake. But she didn't seem to care. I got very uspet with her, and told her I was disappointed in her, but nothing would phase her.

Then something struck me. I often dream of loved ones (especially my wife) being completely indifferent to my concerns, or being very stubborn about something stupid. I realized while I was dreaming that this should be a dreamsign! I said to her "wait a moment..." looked at my seven-fingered right hand, and was lucid immediately.

Unfortunately, the contents of the lucid dream have completely slipped from my mind. If I can remember them, I'll come back and update this post.

      August 1

Two short ones last night. I also include a non-lucid just because it was interesting to me.

      The Kiss of Questionable Taste
I was with some woman I didn't know, and had just eaten some sort of dried pancake type food. I suddenly noticed a lot of tiny purplish bubbles floating around in the air. I thought there was something wrong about this, and didn't want her to see the bubbles for some reason. But she did, and told me it probably meant I ate some bad food. She looked at another of the dried pancakes I had pulled the first one off the top of. She flipped it over, and there was some sort of mold all over it. Apparently, the bubbles were coming from ME because I had eaten this mold.

She said I had to try to induce vomiting, and was looking for some vegetable oil because that was supposed to help. I didn't need the oil, and just started vomiting into a sink. Suddenly, for no apparent reason, I became lucid, but without much control in my surroundings.

I pulled myself up from the sink, and the woman was coming towards me. She looked like she wanted a kiss. I thought that was pretty disgusting considering I had just been spewing moldy dried pancake, but she was coming in for the smooch, so I tried to concentrate hard on making my breath fresh.

We kissed a bit, so I guess it worked. The kiss was very realistic, but the whole time I was worried about my breath. After a minute or so, I woke up.

      Across from Waldo's House
I was waiting for a bus on the street I grew up on. I realized I was in someone's yard, behind a fence that I had to climb over to get back to the bus stop. It was difficult getting over, and while I was trying, I spontaneously became lucid. Without thinking, the very first thing I did was clap my hands. It was partially automatic, and partially an expression of joy that I was lucid.

I was hyper-aware in this dream, and felt extremely lucid. I focused on my surroundings, and was amazed at how realistic everything seemed. There was nothing fuzzy or dark about this dream; It was VERY much like real life. I rubbed my hands for good luck.

Except for a car that had just passed, the scene was completely devoid of any other signs of life, and it felt rather lonely. I decided to look for people, and first noticed the house of my childhood friend "Waldo." I was going to go up and see if anyone was home, but decided instead to go to an unknown house on the other side of the street. As I walked toward it, I kept feeling myself losing control, and wrestling to maintain.

I was wearing a wind-breaker, and it was too tight, so I was trying to get it off of me as I walked, but the act of pulling it off of me was also pulling me out of the dream. I slowly started realizing that in real life, my sleeping body was wrapped too tightly in the sheet, and I had been trying to pull the sheet off of myself. I was in two worlds simultaneously!
I was trying to get the sheet off of me without waking up too much, and getting back into the dream, but I slowly woke up, and it was all over.

      Mountain Pencil Sketch
I was in a trance-like state and drawing on a huge piece of paper with a pencil. The paper was about 15" high, but about 4 feet long. I was drawing faster and faster, and the details just kept popping out by themselves. The drawing was of a huge mountainside. On the right, there was a sort of cafe with several women eating lunch. I kept drawing without really knowing what I was doing, and the pencil stayed sharp while I covered the entire page from edge to edge with detail. The whole time I was drawing, my friend "G" was watching in fascination.

I signed the page, and gave it to G. He had just been telling me about how his friend had died recently, and I thought the gift would cheer him up. He was so incredibly touched, and gave me a huge hug.
