      I Have a Dream...

and that dream is to lucid dream.

For at least a year or two (due to work and other stresses) I have not gotten more than an average of 5 hrs sleep per night. Not surprisingly, I don't have/remember dreams very often. I'm hoping the attempt to willingly lucid dream will, as a byproduct, force me to sleep better.

I have occasionally written down my dreams, and those that I have I remember well.

From what I remember, I have only had (remember) 1, maybe 2 lucid dreams in my life. The one that I can still think of was...well...x-rated. I was a modern day version of Leisure Suit Larry (I was maybe 13 at the time, but that should do the job of dating me).

I'm going to bed, early, and hope to have something to report tomorrow.

      Goodnight!

edit: Wait, I think I have had repeat lucid dreams about snowboarding...where I left the ground taking a hit and could practically fly. I was basically the best snowboarder alive hahahaha.

This has happened at least twice.

Well...getting to bed earlier worked. I had a couple/few dreams. Weird ones. I woke up at 3 am and wrote down what I could remember. It has gotten even hazier since, but here is what I recall:

Dream 1 - I am in some sort of bookstore, buying several posters of the same person. It’s a guy, something like James Dean (but not). There was some sort of quote on the wall, by my Dad, who “wished he had known about this place before donating $130 million” to some other place. Whatever the hell that means.

Dream 2 – I’m not really sure if this was a second, third, or the same dream as the first. But we’ll call it dream #2. In this one I am at some party or celebration, similar to a wedding, but I don’t think it actually was a wedding. That is until my Dad (with my mom present at the party) declares that he is marrying some other woman, and marries her right there. In real life, my parents are happily married.

It's a good thing you got up in the middle of the night to write down the two dreams you remembered! I'm sure once your body gets back in the habit of getting more sleep at night, you'll be able to remember dreams much easier!

A few nights of sh1t sleep (par for the last year or two) and little to no dream recall. Last night I got a good night's sleep, and had some sort of baseball dream. I was playing, and I think my family was too. I didn't get up to write anything down, but was glad to at least have had some sort of dream.

From what I can tell, I had three distinct dreams last night. Here they are in chronological order. The details I remember are much more vivid the closer I get to waking up (as you can tell by my recall). These were some weird dreams. None were lucid.

      Weird Dream #1:

I am driving on the back of a scooter/motorcycle near my office. I think a woman is driving, and I'm the passenger. No idea who. We end up in in a parking lot that in reality is a school in a neighbourhood I used to live. There is some expert motorcyle guy...he does endos and wheelies like crazy. There are a few other people on bikes at this place. I think I am waiting for, or had just gotten off a city bus at some point in the dream.

I don't remember much of this one. I may have stolen a bike at some point too.

      Weird Dream #2:

I am on an unbelievably busy highway in Venice/Rome. I think it's supposed to be Venice, but obviously not because the car traffic, and the size of it (IRL I traveled to Venice recently). Almost roll my truck (the one I have IRL) several times taking corners and bends WAY too fast, but I don't actually crash it.

At another point in the dream I am driving a different car, away from the center of this city, where I have been looking out towards the hills and now want to buy one of the homes that looks down on this city center. I am driving again through this crazy traffic, this time in some sort of minivan, and this time I'm a woman...with a daughter! I end up getting in an accident...I think because someone is chasing us, though I don't really remember a car chase. The van rolls, in slow motion, with me (as a woman) and my daughter rolling around the inside, like clothes tumbling in a dryer. At this part of the dream I am watching as a third person, from above the highway, at about streetlight level. The shell of the vehicle is transparent to me, so I can see myself and daughter being tossed around. Some hitman driving in a car beside us fires a gun into the van, twice. Both bullets hit me in the vagina. It was pretty graphic.

      Weird Dream #3:

Some guy comes to the front door of my house, fairly late at night. He is someone my gf knows through her work (he is a customer of sorts). I invite him in because it is cold and dark outside.

He comes in and immediately starts taking off his boots...which is not what my invite meant. I meant "come in and say your piece and leave" whereas he was acting like "thanks I'm coming in to settle for a few hours".

He and I start arguing, and after several long minutes, some physical threats are made, both ways. I push him to the front door and give him an ultimatum: Leave, or pay the price. I end up beating him up...badly. At first I can't throw punches properly in my dream but I figure it out and crush his nose with one. He is pretty much finished after this one punch, but I beat him more, several times in the side of the head, and I rain down punches and elbows on his ribcage. I am furious at the guy, and I want him to regret what he's done when he wakes up.

He ends up hanging on some coat hanger, and his truck is parked outside. My plan is to throw him in his truck and let him come to by himself. My gf is starting to panic, thinking I've killed him. Secretly, I have been kind of worrying the same thing myself. I can't hear him breathing, but eventually find his heart, down in his stomach, beating strongly. He is alive. It takes a few minutes to convince my gf that he is alive, but finally she shuts up.

After getting rid of him (I assume I dumped in his vehicle, which was parked crooked in the middle of the street in front of my house). I start questioning my gf. Something the guy said (I think his name was "Chris") made me think that the reason he came here pissed off at me was because she had told him something negative about me. My gf and I have been fighting lots lately (in real life), and she admits that she had said some things to this guy about me refusing to do any more volunteering for her work. I refuse to do more, and I get angry about it because I already do lots for her work (real life as well) and I now have more on my plate than I can handle (real life as well).

Two of my friends are there with us (not sure if they were there for the beating). They are on my side and are angry at my gf for potentially getting this guy to beat me up. I am now furious because I have just beaten this guy senseless, and feel that when he comes to, he is going to come looking for revenge.

This was one of the most vivid dreams I have had in a long time. It was really stressful actually. I also have not recalled a dream this clearly in a long time (many years).

      Phew.

      Dream#1

Strange dream last night about an ex girlfriend and her bf.

I was at some sort of hotel with a friend, and on the way outside to the pool (which looked more like some sort of giant frog pond), I saw an ex standing in line with the guy she had cheated on me with (this happened in real life - the girl was the real person, but it was a different guy). They are in line to get into the breakfast restaurant at this hotel (which, from the inside, looks more like a mall).

On the way back in, the guy comes up and starts harassing me. He shows me this tiny RFID chip and claims he has bugged our hotel room and been listening to our conversation. We argue about various things for quite some time. Eventually I end up outside alone with this guy, and we make peace.

      Dream#2

I don't remember much about this one, but basically, the oceans are going to freeze solid in the near future, and there is some sort of massive beast or beasts hunting the human race. Everyone is on a mission to devise a way to drill deep down into the ice of the oceans and reestablish some sort of civilization under there. I am part of a research team working on this.

Had a scary dream 2 nights ago. Didn't have time to write it down, but I was drifting in and out of consiousness, and able to go back into the dream. Never did get lucid, but I was able to re-enter.

Basically, I was hiding out. From who, I didn't initially realize, but people were out to get me in a serious way. I had weapsons (firearms), and was sneaking around a residential neighbourhood. I think I killed a few people with a shotgun. I have only a couple of friends, and they were at my side through part of the dream.

At the climax, I was looking out of the window of a house I was hiding out in, and suddenly realized that I'd been had. I thought I was so sneaky, so evasive, and so good at what I was doing. When I looked up, I looked into a full street of low-rise (e.g. 3 story) apartment and other buildings. On every single rooftop, every single balcony, there were gangbangers with weapons, all trained on me. I went to the back of the house - same story. I was totally trapped.

I remember wondering if I should try and talk my way out of it, or go out in a blaze of glory. I knew I had killed several of these guys, and there was no way they would let me live, so I decided to go out like Tony Montana at the end of Scarface.

This, of course, is when I woke up (somewhat thankfully). I was extremely stressed out and tense for some time after I woke up from this one.

Had a weird one about my buddy's ex gf. A really attractive blonde girl. For some reason she and I were alone, and she was butt naked. I didn't really realize (or was unaffected by the fact) that she was naked for quite some time. After a while though, that changed. We started getting very close, and then I woke up.

I remember feeling guilty for a while after waking up.
