      My Dream Journal

I have decided to use this site to keep my dream journal.

I can type much quicker than I can write...

In the past month I have had three Lucid dreams. The first one was by accident and started me on my quest. The first three posts will be my recall of these three dreams. I feel it is important to get these on here so I can track my progress.

      My first Lucid Dream

I had been discussing Lucid dreams with my roommate. He used to have them quite frequently.

I am laying on the couch about to go to sleep and next thing i know I drop into some apartment from the ceiling. I realize that I am in a dream. I walk down the hallway immediately looking for who else could possibly be in this apartment. I walk down to the last bedroom and there is a bed with a woman and a baby in it. I decide that this is my girlfriend and my baby. I lay down in the bed and wake up.

This is the point where I am excited. I do some reading on lucid dreams and decide to try and have more. The next two entries will be recounts of my first two successful attempts.

My first self induced lucid dream!

So after my above experience a whole lot of reading and about 3 weeks of failed attempts, I decide it is time to have another lucid dream. This is when i discover the WILD method. The only reason it took me so long to have another lucid dream is because I was trying to use hypnotism methods. I thought these would work at first but soon realized they can be beneficial, but do not reach the same result. If anyone out there has experienced the same difficulties, let me know and I will tell you what I have learned about how the two relate. On to the dream..

I am laying in my bed attempting to WILD and every time I get to the "twilight zone area" between sleep and awake (I cant think of the name now, hyponagigc images or some shit?) I would get scared and turn back. I would hear voices or music so clear and scary that it would force me to wake up. The second time that I became scared and woke up I stood up and tried to turn on my light. It would not turn on. Since I knew from my reading/Waking Life (movie) that this was symptom of a Lucid dream the thought that I was dreaming entered my mind. I still wasn't convinced. I yelled down to my roomate and said "Mike, Is the power out?"..."Fuck yeah," was his response. I then head down the stairs to get my flashlight. When I get to my living room is when i now know for sure that I am dreaming. Everything looks completely different. no couches, only mattresses. I become so excited that I am dreaming and I immediately want to get laid! With all the soul searching and spiritual reading I have done it still amazes me that this was my first reaction to discovering this new realm.

As this post is really long already I will pick up the rest of the dream at a later time...Sweet dreams.

Well aren't you the responsible one! I would have decided I was getting the hell out of there!

Hypnogogic Imagery can be scary for sure. Wait until you wake up and see some shadowy figure standing there! It's not so bad once you get used to it.

      First Cont...

Haha. I never thought about it that way. I guess your right...

I have decided to color code - Blue will be LUCID and black will be normal.

      The continuation...

[COLOR="DeepSkyBlue"]So I ask my roommate, who is half asleep on the mattress if he minds if I call up his ex girlfriend to come over. He says no and attempts to give me the number. I miss dial. By the time I ask him for the number again he is back asleep. I decide that this is too big of an experience to waste on calling someone so I go out the front door. It is dark outside. I decide that this will not do at all. I think to myself "it needs to be light outside" and the sun comes up. Pretty cool stuff.

I then start running up the street. I remember being amazed at the sound of my feet hitting the pavement. It is amazing how realistic these dreams are. As I am running I decide that it is time to fly. I feel self doubt creep into my mind. I jump in the air and come right back to earth (if earth is indeed where these experiences occur). I then see three cars parked side by side in front of me. I know that I can for sure jump these. I jump over the first two care and land on top of the third car. I remember debating to myself wether or not this would of been possible in real life. Now that I am awake...there is no fucking way it would be possible. Sometimes I do good to get down the stairs without tripping. I run further up the road into an area that resembles a park. The grass is very green and there are a lot of hills. There are, what I can only describe as ruins throughout the entire area. I begin to go up a paved road that is in this park. All of the sudden an army of video game type characters come marching down the road. I decide that if I have to face them it would be a sure victory since this is my dream. None the less, this is time that I do not want to waste. I then find myself atop one of the ruins and decide that I need to get down to the bottom and get away from the army. I climb hand over hand ninja style to the bottom. I think to myself that I need a faster way to get away. I turn the corner and a golf cart is sitting there. I get in the golf cart to drive away and wake up.

Self induced lucid dream number two to come. I am off to try and have number three tonight.

Has anyone, who has managed to read this far, ever used any of the masks that are supposed to help induce lucid dreams? Do they work? Which would you suggest? I read that one was taken off the market and was to be re-released. Any thoughts on this? Have a good night and sweet dreams!

      Been a While

So.. It has been a while since I have posted here. Since my first Lucid dream, I continue to have one about every month or so. It is always a WILD and always when I first go to sleep. I came back to the forum last night and was reading and became more excited about trying to become Lucid more and more. I figured I would write down a few Lucid dreams that I remember from the past year, and a few non lucid dreams that I remember from last night.

My Lucid dreams always start the same way. I fall completely asleep and then before my dream begins my mind wakes up. I then feel like I am floating in a void and wind is moving by me at a rapid pace. I can always feel my shirt fluttering in the wind. Now that I know what this feeling is, I can maintain my composure until the time is right to step out of my real body with my dream body. The first few seconds that I step out of my body are always the same too. The room is pitch black and I have to focus to my surroundings into view. I don’t know if this is because my room is pitch black when I go to sleep or this is just the way it is for me. It is always weird to me that it feels much like it feels if I were to wake up in the real world and stumble about my room. Like my dream self wakes up when my real self goes to sleep and vice versa. 90% of my Lucid dreams begin in my room. 90% of my lucid dreams also last less than 5 minutes. Which is something I would love to fix.

      1st Lucid:

My dream self wakes up in somewhere other than my bedroom, which is odd to me. I am in the basement of a house that I spent a lot of time at as a kid. I remember taking a couple of minutes and trying to figure out where my body was sleeping. I couldn’t for the life of me figure it out. I knew if I focused on it too much, I would wake up. So I decide that it is not a big deal and move on. I go up the stairs and walk to the door that leads to outside. I always like to go outside in my dreams to look for things to do and try. This time, I got sidetracked. The door to the outside had a window pane in it that was divided into 9 sized squares. The door is locked. I then punch through the bottom right pane to open the door from the outside. I remember pulling my hand back through the glass and looking at it with amazement that I was not injured. I then became extremely excited and started punching out all of the other panes of glass. Instead of going outside I walk around the house punching out any window I can find. It was more fun than I could have dreamed. . Maybe not.

I will post the other dreams when I have time.
