Life Is But A Dream: The Dreamjournal of Pixiedust

I've been keeping a physical dream journal, but I slack off sometimes about writing in it. I keep at it though, because it's seriously improved my recall. Anyway, I'm going to start recording my dreams here too, just cos it's much easier to type than to write longhand, so maybe I'll be inspired to write down more of my dreams.

Lucid Dreams will be in blue, semi-lucid moments will be in purple.

11-15-07

I'm locked in some kind of underground basement - it's really dusty and dirty like it hasn't been touched or cleaned in years. There's broken machinery everywhere, collapsed wooden beams, ect - it's in complete disrepair. There is thick black dust along one wall, I stir it up as I walk by, and remember I was told it was poisonous. I try to get out but at first I can't see a way. Finally I climb up on some debris and look out a dirty window and there is a room next door with a man in it - somehow I know that the man is bad - he's the one responsible for me being trapped here.

I think I have a moment where I realize I'm dreaming - I'm in a long hallway, and it's all white and as I walk down it I realize - I'm dreaming, i start running down the hallway, excited, thinking "I'm dreaming!!", but it didn't feel like I really had a good grip of it - it felt like it could evaporate at any moment, and it only lasted a moment, so that's why it's not in blue. I think I tried to make a doorway appear in one of the walls of the hallway, but it didn't happen. I can't remember anything else about this dream - I know there was a lot more, another dream, but it's gone now. Pretty sure I was lucid only very briefly and then I lost it, but it's a start.

11-29-07

I falla sleep for a nap in late afternoon. I dream that I'm watching CNN, some 9-11 type disaster has happened, but I'm convinced it's fake for some reason I can't explain. I am with other people in a tall building, we are wandering around, and i think I'm looking for my bf. We enter a room that looks like it's been hit by a bomb, I see wires dangling and think -"aha! There was a secret government installation here!". At that point an older man standing next to me says "you mean there was a secret airforce here?"

There are other fragments, which include me sitting with my bf in a chair in my mom's house. I am uneasy for no reason i can put my finger on - afraid something is going to come out of the cellar and get us. I look to my right and there are little robots coming up the stairs to the cellar. The thought that they're coming from the cellar (a place I had lots of nightmares about as a child) scares me, and I try to hide behind my bf, and not look at the stairs. The dream fades.

Fragment: I'm on top of a building that's being built- it's like i'm swinging around on a big crane, watching construction workers building the top floor, but after a few minutes, things start sliding around like there's an earthquake. I'm worried a bit that I'm going to fall - workers are slipping and falling - but I'm not actually really that afraid. This is a frequent dreamsign lately - being up high somewhere.

12-01-07

I've adopted a little black kitten. He's about 7 mos old and he's SO cute - I bring him home and put him in a gigantic birdcage (wtf?). I'm worried that the top is open and he can climb out - so of course then he climbs out the top. I'm afraid he's going to get loose in the house - in the dream I have roomates and they don't care that I have a kitten and don't want it to go out the door - they could care less, and I'm annoyed at them for it. I'm really worried about the kitten, that it'll get out and get lost, but that's all I can remember. That's another dreamsign of mine - a kitten or stray cat that needs my help.

Gold Matador Shoes 12-08-07

I laid down for a nap at 2 in the afternoon and dreamed i was in a Boston pizza parlor talking to Anthony Rossomando from the band Dirty Pretty Things. Somehow in the dream he's never tried pizza, even though he's from Boston originally, and I encourage him to get a pie, telling him it's fantastic. He does, but barely takes a bite or two before saying he doesn't like it. I then tell him that he should try an Italian Sandwhich. He seems dubious about my taste in food, lol. anyway, we get up from the table and he says he wants to show me these "gold matador shoes" that he wants to buy. He takes me to a street with lots of shops - they're all closed cos it's late at night, but this one store has a display out on the street, with just one shoe on a pedastal outside the store. "oh," I think, "that makes sense...why would anyone bother stealing just one shoe?". The logic of dreams... :? Anthony walks up to the display, picks up the shoe and says reverently, "isn't it beautiful?". It's a gold brocade ankle boot, it looks like something a guy would wear in the 1700s in France, very fey and fancy. I tell him yes, it's beautiful. Then we go back to some building, and two chicks dressed in black show up, and somehow I know they just want to get me away from Anthony so they can have sex with him. In the dream this irritates me greatly, as all I want to do is hang out with him and talk. They nudge me out of the way as we're walking upstairs, and I nudge them back, and eventually they leave with Anthony and I get in an elevator to leave the building. As I get in, I have a feeling of apprehension, and so of course the elevator starts falling out of control. I remember looking up and seeing huge wooden bars that are somehow meant to keep the roof from collapsing in an accident. Finally the elevator stops (doesn't crash), and I walk out and find some woman in an underground garage and tell her what happened, and she hurries me out of the building.

Next thing I remember is looking at a couple beautiful pairs of womens shoes in a high-end shop that's closed for the evening (I'm looking in the window). I think they're Dior, they're made of a floral pattern, and I pick one shoe up to get a closer look. (Do I reach through the window? I don't know - one minute I'm looking through glass, the next I'm picking up the shoe). It's absolutely exquisite - sort of gold brocade like Anthony's matador shoes, but with a more feminine pattern, and lined with black velvet. The design is like a mary jane, and in the dream I can't get over how beautiful they are. The dream was extremely vivid, I could feel the weight of the shoe and the texture of the material. Then I turned it over and looked at the price tag on the sole, and it said 850 dollars.

Last dream I remember of the night, I am alone and upset for some reason, wandering around, and I find a couple young guys I know are drug dealers. I offer to be their lookout, saying "I've done this before, I'm really good at it, you should give me a chance." They offer me 20 bucks a day and I say "No, I'm worth 30", heh. Last thing I remember is they sold crack to some guy - he walked up to us and one of the dealers said "I'm itchy", which in the dream I understood to mean that he thought the guy who wanted to buy crack was a cop. The other guy sold to him anyway though, and nothing happened...then the dream faded.

Tuesday, December 11, 2007 - Lucid Dream!

The good news - I had a lucid dream. The bad - I neglected to write it down in favor of going back to sleep to try to get back into it, and so I lost most of it. Anyway, from what I remember, I became lucid after doing a reality check. I'm not sure what made me do it, but I looked at some text, glanced away, looked back, and when I looked back there were three versions of the text, lol. I thought "I'm dreaming!" I don't remember much, but I know at one point I thought "I want to see Carlos" (Carlos Barat, singer with the Libertines and now Dirty Pretty Things). I thought "I want to see him - if I walk in the next room, he'll be there". I walked in the room, and there he was :) Gotta love lucid dreams :cool: I walked closer to him and began talking to him, and then I walked a bit closer and he started to change just a little, to not quite look like Carl. Unfortunately, that's all I've got. Like I said, I woke up, excited, and instead of waking up completely to write it down, I decided to go right back to sleep to see if I could get back into the dream, but it didn't happen. I was definitely lucid though, however briefly, and I definitely exercised control over the dream :)
