      Hey Jamalkk, welcome to DV!!!

Well, lucid dreams work really well if you follow the techniques. Unless you're a natural of course. I'm not a super talented LDer, but after finding this site, I went from just a few LDs a year to 1-2 a week. The thing that worked best for me was keeping a dream journal. Also, if you haven't read any of the tutorials, I HIGHLY recommend that you do! They are not novel in length, yet cover a broad range of topics that I believe you will find helpful. Here's my favourite:

Also, the main site has even more information, if you have a few minutes sometime, I suggest you check it out as well:

Always remember, the results may not be immediate - information needs to soak in first. But good luck, and remember, you can always contact me or another Dream Guide (the members with grenn names and gray bg) if you ever have any questions.

      Sweet Dreams!

(Attn Mods: should this thread be in "Attaining Lucidity"?)

      Welcome Jamalkk!

The different methods work with different effectiveness for each person.
As one of the other Dream Guides said once (I forget who ), there are 3 basic stages to perfecting lucid dreams:

      1) Dream Recall
      2) Awareness
      3) Control

So number one on your list should be dream recall!
Ophelia's tip of the dream journal is the first important step.
Another is: When you wake up, don't jump up immediately if you can help it. Lie there for a good 5 to 10 minutes in the same posture and go over the dreams. If you cant remember any, try explore the feelings you have from the last dream, and what caused it. THEN get up and write it in your dream journal

When you can consistently recall about 2 or more dreams a night, then I'd say you might be justified to move to your next step - Awareness!
If you want extra good recall, try practice more than just 2 a night

Unless otherwise stated, views expressed in this post are not necessarily representative of the official Dream Views stance. Hell, it's probably not even representative of me.

After 6 years of keeping a dream journal I agree with the above.. dream journal is a must. The most important step in any kind of dream work. Only the part where you wake up and try very hard to keep the dream in the everyday memory until you pour it down to the journal helps a lot for the dream recall.
If you are too lazy to keep one .. i recommend writing down only the lucid dreams or dreams you feel are important to you or somehow different (which is what i am doing cause i would have to write at least a page everyday if i wrote all of them ).
In time you don't even have to try to remember your dreams , because of all that training of keeping the dreams in your memory till you write them down it becomes a natural habit and you remember them most of the time.
Besides one of the greatest things of keeping a dream journal is that years from now on your spiritual path , you can read some of your old dreams and find other aspects and details you never knew were there before.

thats for the first step recall.. the other are too broad to write them down and there are many ways.. but for recall and any dream work whatsoever really the basis is the journal.

Sorry buddy I have always been a natural LDer.
But try this, I told my friend to try it over and over untill it worked for him and it has a few times.
Think of one thing while lying in bed at night. Think the same thing over and over and over until you fall asleep!
Eg: I am gonna fly tonight or I want to walk on water!
Try thinking these to start but only choose one. I like the flying expierence, it is more substainialy fullfilling. Keep in mind this may not work the first time. Don't be discouraaged if it don't work the first time ok. Do it every night until it does. Once it does, and you have enjoyed the expirence it should become easier to do!
      Hope this helped!
      I think im lost!!!....

I'm new to this site as of today. I used to be able to be mentally aware and be able to control my dreams very well. Then I got older and lost it. I never had a dream journal, though I am eager to try. When i was young this is what helped me:

If your mind races when you are trying to fall asleep, focus on only one thought(some thing you want to be involved in your dream). If you go to sleep right away then forget this and go to bed.

Ques are very useful. Start be devloping them in waking life. The good old pinch on the arm works pretty good. Whatever your doing, when you think it would be a time to pinch your self then do it. Practice by doing this about 20 times a day. When your dreaming, your will also practice this and your mind will trigger when you realize there is no pain.

You should post topics in the right places, instead of posting randomly. Use your brain; You must have one or you wouldn't be able to type.

Doing things like this only makes you seem immature, stupid, and annoying, which causes many people (mostly me) to hate you.

(WBTB) Wake Back to Bed Method

Try this one. It works very well and is easy to do. The second link is good.

Perhaps you are posting in the wrong place; people don't need greif like this. Just wait for one of the mods (that's what they are here for after all) to move it instead of getting uptight and saying you hate the authors. Wrongful topic posting isn't a crime, no need for an outburst like that.

Why do you care? If he has a problem w/what I said to him, he can complain. It's not your issue.
