Welcome! This is my very first dream diary.

I've had quite a few lucid dreams before without properly realising that they were lucid dreams, if that makes sense. Now that I've read up on them, I want to try and attain lucidity of my own accord, but I haven't had a lucid dream in about 2 years, so this may take some time.

I'll use the default text for normal dreams, red for dream signs (or possible DS) and blue text for LD's

I'll begin with what I have so far and go from there:


31.12.07

Many fragmented dreams. Only one to recall:

Some kind of garden party was taking place at a mansion that, although I don’t recognise in reality, was familiar to me in the dream. There were a few moments where I would be genuinely angry at my family for reasons I can’t recall.

The most vivid parts were centred around a fish pond, which happened to be based on the fish pond I have at my home in reality (Note: The pond appearing in my dreams is quite common since moving to this house, so I wonder whether this is a dream sign).

The pond was being drained by a huge pump that seemed to defy gravity in many ways from what I remember. As it was being drained the fish were becoming restless and actually jumping out of the pond. None of my family seemed to be concerned about this, so I shouted at them, but with no response. I fill a bucket with water with the intention of saving the fish, but on my way back to the pond I drop the bucket and spill about ¾ of the contents.

At one point I remember chasing a fish around the garden to get it to go back into the pond. I chased it back, and realised it had somehow got into my hand. I start dipping the fish into the water to lure the bigger fish from the bottom of the pond (no idea why I knew this would work). A carp comes up slowly and opens it mouth to reveal a hideous set of teeth, not unlike a sharks. I look at the fish in my hand and it seems to have turned into a rat.

Vivid fragment:

I’m at my ex-girlfriends house and we are discussing the fact that we had, apparently, just had over 2km worth of sex (whatever that means). There’s a huge map spread out on the kitchen counter, and I’m trying to make my point using the distance between two places as an example. We start joking to each other about something and it leads to a fit of giggles between us. I stop laughing suddenly because I realise my mouth is full of some unknown food (I imagine it as brown mush).

I suddenly realise that I haven’t seen her parents in quite some time, and before we broke up, I was very close to her family. I start to become agitated as her mother walks into the room. She looks nothing like her in reality, but I still recognise her as my ex’s mother. I give her a hug, but realise that she’s actually my auntie. I feel embarrassed because I never hug my auntie, and I feel stupid for acting as if I haven’t seen her in ages, rather than finding it strange.

From there a lot of place and people morphing occurs that I can’t quite remember.

Another fragment:

I’m at some rural countryside farm, and I’m apparently lost. In the fields ahead of me are some bulls fighting, but they aren’t normal bulls. They have shorter bodies proportionally; as if they have been pressed together from the head and backside like an accordion. They are rippling with muscles and look very aggressive.

I start shouting as I see my mother heading towards them at a very fast pace, but I’m not worried as such, because I somehow know that she isn’t going to be harmed. I still feel a little edgy though. Dream ends there.

No previous entries since my last due to the horrendous sleeping pattern I had.

Many fragments on this particular night (the night I correct my internal clock). Some hints that I’m beginning to question things in my dreams.

Fragment 1:

I’m walking through a place very near my home with Dafydd (my cousin). We are walking towards the football field, and talking about how it is going to be cold enough to have snow this week (something mentioned to me in reality the day before). At the mention of this everything is heavily laden with snow. It is dark, but everything is visible, as if illuminated by moonlight.

I tell Dafydd that I want to carve a giant heart into the snow, and take a picture of it for someone (I can’t remember who, but I think it was an ex-gf) because I think they would appreciate it. I start dragging my foot across the snow to carve the picture, but just as I’m about to finish, everything goes black, as if I’ve closed my eyes, and there is a bright green flash like fireworks. This happens for only a second or two. When I regain my vision, I’m still scraping the ground with my foot, but the pitch is muddy and dry, with puddles here and there. No snow at all.

In the dream, I find this very odd, and this is one of the first times I have found a dream event odd in years. I decide to ask Dafydd if he saw that green flash too, and he says he did.

(I think I wake up shortly here to change position, then fall asleep and continue the dream)

We start walking towards a different area. There is a huge cue of people standing outside someone’s house, but as I look closer I see the inside of a pub, packed with people. We push our way through and walk up some stairs and into a bar area. There are a few people sitting at the back that I know in reality from when I was in comp, but who I haven’t seen in some time. My memory fades here.

I did have many other fragments to type up, but I became distracted and had forgotten them by the time I wrote this down. Oh well.
