Wednesday Night, 9-19-07

Long lucid dream. This is probably the longest I've been lucid! (so far)

I may have done the WILD technique after waking up in the middle of the night, or it may have been a false awakening.

I was with a circle of people that gave off a calm feeling. We were going to visit the subconscious mind. It would be the same as the WILD technique, only I was already lucid dreaming, so I wouldn't have to drift off to sleep. I went through the floor. I was in a large cavern-like space. There was a competition going on. The challenge was; a person has to ride a bull and accomplish some task, possibly hearding something. I watched several people try. Most of them fell off, or ended up chasing the bull all over the cavern. One guy managed to ride the bull easily and accomplish whatever the task was.

Then it was my turn, and I thought it shouldn't be to hard. But I wound up chasing the bull all over the cavern. Or more like followed. Several times I talked to it, trying to get it to understand. One of those times, when the bull had gotten tired or at least calmed down, it said to stand in a certain place. We were near a tall structure of scaffolding where there was construction going on. The bull wanted me to stand behind the scaffolding, saying that I was supposed to trust it's word. I almost did, but I hesitated due to an uneasy feeling. I glance up and saw that above the indicated spot, there were a couple of buckets. One of these buckets tipped and poured out acid as a construction worker pulled on a rope attached to it's handle.

I was in the guest bathroom experimenting with the light switch. I turned it off, then quickly turned it on again. I turned it off once more, and found it odd that I felt absolutely no fear. I sat down in a chair across from the mirror. I couldn't see very well, but I had a general sense of what was around me. I got the impression that there were other people there, who wanted me to turn the light back on. I eventually flicked it back on. I turned around and saw two or three people sitting near where I had been. Something about the way they were sitting was amusing. I walked away, catching a glimpse of my own refection as I passed the mirror. I had a bland expression and was almost smiling. This in itself was amusing.

Something about the light switch had informed me that I was dreaming. Or, more accurately, reminded me. I didn't do a reality check, because I already knew. I went through the wall. It felt similar to when I had gone through the ground. I came out the other side in the kitchen. The kitchen was smaller and turned ninty degrees to the left of the way it is in waking life. It was also on the second or third story, like an apartment. All of this was taken for granted at the time. My mom was there, and she was talking to me, "...I know I'm awake, because I counted my fingers..." and she started counting. Before she made it past five, I said, "I'm dreaming! You're probably dreaming too. Otherwise, I couldn't do this; watch." and I went effortlessly through the solid glass window.

I was now outside, and I flew around a bit. I landed in an open corridor down a short set of stairs. There was an advertisement for a medicine of sorts, which was supposed to help lower back pains. My lower back was hurting. I deduced from the fact that the voice was disembodied that it was my subconscious speaking. I thought this meant it was trying to talk to me. I was starting to get very irritated with my sub-c, but I took the medicine. It was a jar of slightly transparent blue capsules. I went up the stairs, and was in the spot with a circle of lawn chairs. The same people (or at least similar ones) were gathering there. One or two people were complaining about back problems. One guy took the jar, and everyone came over. They started inspecting the jar of medicine. Someone said, "We have nothing to burn it with..." I gathered from the comment that we would normally burn different ingredients together, and that was how we got more interesting messages. This time it was just going to be whatever was in the medicine.

We laid down in the lawn chairs, which were in the reclining position. I went through the floor wondering what the message would be. I was once again in a cave-like place, only it wasn't as big and it wasn't as far down. Some of the other people had gotten there also. For some reason, I felt like I had to go down further, so I did. Things started to happen quickly, and I was really confused. Even though I was trying to pay attention to what was happening. I found myself underneath the surface of a pool of ice water (there may have been ice cubes floating around in the water). I was a little nervous about this. I had an umbrella, which had allowed me to get in the water by pointing it down. Then by opening it and pointing it up, I got out again, and all the way back to the circle.

Towards the center of the circle, there was a chair with a violin on it. Thinking it was mine, I picked it up. Then realized that it was someone else's more expensive violin. I set it back down and saw my own violin on the chair next to it, which I picked up along with the bow. I didn't want anyone to sit on it, and I was going to move it. Only I was still holding the bow from the other violin. I started getting confused. I put my violin down so I could figure out which bow was which. For a few moments, I just stood there, looking stupidly at the two bows in my hands. When logic returned, I remembered how to tell my bow apart, and managed to get the right bow with the right violin.

A guy with curly brown hair had come along and put some of the lawn chairs in the sitting position. The guy who had looked at the medicine got into an argument with him, saying that we wanted the lawn chairs to be flat. I noticed that my own chair was propped up. I was able to get it back to the way it was by lifting it up and over two stops, which had kept it in place. I mentioned that when it was in the original position, it could be rocked forward and used as a seat just as easily (this logic made more sense in the dream). Both people gave me a blank stare, then continued arguing. Now I ignored them and stood up. I saw TK sitting in a chair a little ways away from the circle. I went over and talked to him for a while. We started making fun of a pink boa. After a while, I walked away. The boa had somehow gotten torn up into sections, and there were feathers everywhere.

I may have come close to waking up and must have fallen into a somewhat lighter sleep. I wondered what I was going to do with my lucidity. I decided to try psychokinesis. I found an open space. I hovered in the air. I thought the clouds were beautiful. It crossed my mind that I would be able to levitate a house if I wanted to. I decided to try something bigger. On a whim, I created and levitated a giant rubber ball with the slightest of thoughts. It was too easy to be very entertaining. I forgot the ball and saw an expanse of water, probably the ocean. I started running across it. I'm pretty sure there was a short wall to my right. It wasn't nearly as graceful as I had planned. There was a lot of splashing involved, although I didn't go further into the water than just above my ankles. I lost a good amount of lucidity, and I was a little worried about the possibility of sharks and other sea creatures. However, I still knew that I was somehow safe (I knew that if I had the power to walk on water, sharks shouldn't be that much of a problem). There was another woman there who was also walking on water. Her presence was reassuring. She may have been instructing me on how to keep my footing, or she may have just been coming along.

By the time I got to shore, I had lapsed into a normal dream. I now seemed to think that the circle had been a music camp, hence the violins, and therefore I wasn't surprised to see Beethoven staggering out of the ocean and onto the beach. He seemed to be covered in salt. There was someone coming. I got deja vu, remembering that the last time this had happened, someone had come to kill Beethoven and I had led him the wrong way and they had gotten him. Armed with this forwarning, I instead led him to the left behind a block or wall of sorts, rather than forward into the open like last time. I had to use mostly hand signals, as he didn't seem to hear me very well (didn't catch that reference until I woke up).

There were several similar walls in an almost maze-like formation. For the most part, I just tried to keep Beethoven out of view, because the assasins really didn't care about me, or wouldn't see me. We passed near a small town, then an outdoor stage where a small group was setting up. Beethoven wanted to go there and play, but I said that he shouldn't go near music or the assasins would find him. A little ways further, there was a fair. I knew this place was safe. It was supposedly "not the type of place where assasins go". My dad was there. He led Beethoven into the men's bathroom to hide until further notice. I went into the womans bathroom, realized that I had no reason to, and came out again. I felt happy now, and wanted to go on some of the rides. I may have gone on a small roller coaster. My dad came out and we went on the ride where the chairs go in a circle and swing out into the air. I was having a hard time holding on, and it was a lot more unnerving than it usually is. I woke up soon after.

Thursday Night, 9-27-07

Medium length normal dream. Another stranded/need to escape scenario.

I was in a rocky setting. There was a shallow pool of water in the center of the rocks. I was taking pictures of a unicorn and a jaguar. The unicorn was literally shining with various bright colors. I managed to get a few shots of the jaguar and the unicorn at the same time. I started focusing on the jaguar, which was unnaturally big. I noticed there was also a tiger there, which I hadn't noticed at first. I started taking a picture of it when the jaguar came over and was playfully batting the tiger with it's paw. The tiger looked annoyed, but just went back to sleep. I reviewed the pictures in my camera, trying to figure out which ones to keep. I had gotten three with the tiger and the jaguar, but they were almost exactly the same. I kept them because they showed a sequence of events. I didn't make the connection at the time, but Lina was in one of the pictures, rolling around in the sun on one of the rocks. Someone was trying to tell me how to ride the unicorn. They put a saddle on it, but I couldn't figure out how to get it to stay. I remarked that the saddle was all weirdly shaped, and the person agreed. I gave up after a while.

I was trying to write a story. When I left for a short while and came back, I found that another person had come along and wrote something completely different from what I had intended. I knew someone else had written it because the color of yellow ink was brighter than what I'd been using. The person was saying that one character from the story was a bad person, and there was a crowd of people booing at the imaginary character. I got really upset that people were believing the few sentences that this other person had written. I concluded that the crowd was biased, and had been carefully chosen, and that the majority of people were probably perfectly logical. Once things quieted down, I erased the bright yellow words and continued writing.

I was stranded on an island with a bunch of other people, and the only other place we could get to were a few large rocks nearby. Most of the people were fighting a lot. I went onto the main part of the island, up higher. I didn't have a whole lot to do. A little later, one person was saying that they were sorry, and that it was was their fault I was stuck on the island. I said that I hadn't lost anything by getting stranded, and that some other group of people (forgot what they were called) were the ones that had taken away what was important in my life.

I began to remember earlier events and had a flashback: I was in a place that was vaugely similar to The Village in "The Prisoner". There were a few other people there. I knew that we had arrived by bus. I was wondering why no one else was worried, and I thought that maybe it was simply that everyone was too afraid to say anything. I was looking for something that I needed to leave. I went into partial observer mode. In a building that went underground, the people at the 'head' of the group were talking about the object that I was trying to find. They knew I was there, but I wasn't too worried.

One person said something about room 109, so I went to that room. I went through the room and then outside. I got some sort of message from an ally. I picked up a medium-sized object and knew instictively how to use it. I put it behind me and started to fly, holding onto each end with my hands. I rose a little higher and was above a forest. My mom was running along the ground. I saw my laptop computer and asked her to get it. She didn't want to have to carry it, so I landed briefly to pick it up, then continued flying. I was careful not to go too high, and eventually I was flying pretty smoothly.

Beginning or Middle of January 2008

A dream from earlier this month. Medium length normal dream.

I was at a resturaunt with my parents. I looked at the first inside page of the menu. I looked at a pasta dish, it said 15% lucidity. there was another one just like it, only it said 50% lucidity. I figured I'd want the 50%. At some point I was talking to the waiter (or chef?) who told me that the dish contained a special kind of fish. This fish was special because it was found in certain waters which increased lucidity in dreams. The reason why there wasn't anything with more than 50% lucidity was because the fish was so rare, so the chef would only put part of the fish in the dish. My hope sank for a moment, as I thought that since it was so rare, the meal would probably be very expensive. I checked the menu, and suprisingly it was only $11.99! I told my parents what a good deal it was. (Lol, I ordered lucidity off of a menu and didn't get lucid! Then again, I never got to eat the fish.)

I had to get from one place to another. The journey was very familiar to me. I had traveled it many times before. I had to go over all kinds of rocks, take the correct path, and at one time I knew it had been tricky. By now I moved instictively, not even needing to think about the large gap between two unstable rocks. One of the rocks was downhill of the other, and I was almost vertical when I went between them. I went between the two places a couple times. The second time I noticed that one of the medium sized rocks was more unstable than it had been in previous years, but not much of interest happened. The starting point was on the coast, where "civilization" was. Most of the route that I traveled along went over the ocean. The water was only a few feet below me. However it wasn't exactly like a jetty; there were a few more solid paths, maybe even forests, and I think the end point included very large, flater rocks, and caves.

I made a third trip, this time on some kind of mission. This time, not long after the large gap, I somehow wound up in tunnels. This was not good. I slide quickely down along a narrow tunnel, confused at first as to what happened, then remembered a previous experience. The tunnel split, then split several more times, and each time I had to hope that I was going the right way. I remembered that these were called "worm holes", and they were made by actual worms. Very large worms that meant another type of other (humanoid?) creature was around. These were the one's I was searching for, but I hadn't meant to get so close.

I was on my way back to the mainland, and in a hurry. There were a few other people making their way there also. I was one of the last ones. I had to rescue a baby, and swimming to shore now seemed like the best option. I thought this would be difficult with the baby, and was worried that the freezing waters would harm it, but I attempted the swim anyways, and we made it to shore safely.

Okay, here's four short examples of my early lucid dreams. The few lucids I had before this were no more than "oh I'm dreaming" and then immediately lapsing back into normal dreaming (and were too vauge and indistinguishable from one another to record easily).

Between March and May 2007

Spoiler for Dream1:

I was upstairs in my room along with my friend AP. She was visiting, and as we were just coming out of the room, I looked at my hand to do a reality check. I had too many fingers (might have been seven). "I'm dreaming." I said, half to myself. I asked AP, "How many fingers do you have on your hand?"

"Uh, five." she said as if this was obvious.

"No, count them!"

AP looked at her hand, her expression going from mild confusion to total perplexion.

I didn't wait to see her react more than that. I glided down over the stairs, repeating that I was dreaming several times. I floated around the living room going almost as high as the cieling. My mom's piano student K had just come in for a lesson, and I told her and my mom that I was dreaming. They acted as if nothing was happening out of the ordinary. K began complaining about back pain. I started excitedly telling her about how she could instantly make the pain go away, and that she could materialize anything she wanted. Just turn around and there would the the item. I babbled on a bit more, then floated away and lapsed back into normal dreaming. While I was just walking around the house, AP had come downstairs and we went into the family room and talked about something.

Between March and May 2007

Spoiler for Dream2:

I walked into the kitchen and saw a girl sitting at the dining room table. She stared at me and I couldn't figure out why until I looked down and saw that I had no clothes on! I jumped back behind the corner and did a reality check. I was much relieved to find that I had too many fingers and was dreaming. I guess the house was empty now. I literally bounced off the kitchen cieling and walls in zero-G, happily remarking that I was dreaming.

April or May 2007

Spoiler for Dream3:

I vaugely remember doing an RC and becoming lucid. My mom was there and I told her about it. I walked a short ways and I think there was something about a wizard or someone else that I wanted to go exploring with. I tried to get my mom to come along but she wasn't paying any attention. We went off flying. After a while I landed and walked around by myself. I found my dad and we had a longish conversation that I can't remember.

It was night time and I was standing alone in the living room. I was still lucid and floated around for a bit, wondering where my mom was. (I'm glad the living room has such a high cieling). I touched back down to the ground and walked slowly into the kitchen. Everything was dark, and I didn't like the feeling the dream was starting to take. I rationalized with myself, but despite my efforts I got scared and woke up.

This one was kind of funny...

Spoiler for Dream4:

I woke up and came downstairs into the family room. I sat down by the computer and decided on a whim to do a reality check. I counted fingers and I only had four! For some reason this really freaked me out, and I fell out of the chair. As I was sprawled on the floor, staring at my hand, I could hear dreamatic music in the background (like in the corny movies where the violins play the high glissandos during "scary" moments). I turned to the right and saw my dad standing there with his head behind the curtain for some reason. This made me freak out more and I woke up. I came downstairs and told my parents about the weird dream and my mom said that I take too long to tell stories. My dad thought it was funny. A few minutes later I woke up for real. That time I did a reality check to be sure, but I was annoyed that I first freaked out, then didn't check after the second FA.

Friday Night, 9-28-07

Allright, here's one last dream that I'll post from my old records. Lucid dream, medium length.

Spoiler for Dream:

I attempted to WILD and succeeded in having the falling feeling and stayed conscious for most of the way. I wasn't very lucid when I reached the bottom, though. I vaugely remember something about going down a hallway and coming into a room with a few people in it. There wasn't much happening. I think it had something to do with arts and crafts or building things. I went outside. I was mixing a material with different colors. I talked to someone (about something) and went off to do somewhere else.

I was in another hallway. There was a guy with a knife who was going to attack some other people. I decided to intervene and got his attention. Then I realized that I didn't have anything to defend myself with. The phrase "knife fight" came to mind. I had no idea what that would be like in waking life, but now I had a knife to defend myself with. It ended up being like a sword fight, only with shorter weapons, and my hands got cut up. I could feel warm blood running down my hand, but didn't take the time to look because I had to concentrate. Apparently I won, or someone else came along, because all that was left of the guy was a pool of blood. I remember standing there apologizing, knowing it wasn't enough (<---very depressing fragment ).

I was with a friend, probably TF. We were looking around the fair grounds looking at rides. I saw one that I wanted to go on, which was swinging back and forth, higher and higher. We went on it and it was even more fun that I had thought.

I walked off to my left. I ventured out into a sort of garden. There was a small bridge that I passed by (which was odd because it was going over land). I came to some water and became lucid for a while. I tried to walk carefully across the top of the water, but I ended up splashing a lot anyways. I turned around and went back to the other side. There was improvement from the last time I'd tried walking on water, but it still wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. I went back the way I came.

I was back at the first place mixing a blue color into a watery clay-like material. My friends were there (SP, SL, and maybe AP). We were supposed to stand in the mixture for some reason.

I've got to catch up on recording more dreams, but the next one's I post will be mostly recent (yay).

Thursday Night, 1-24-08

A couple days ago, I tried the WBTB technique for the first time. I slept for five hours then stayed up for an hour. Unfortuanately, I couldn't get back to sleep and didn't have any lucids (maybe next time I'll try staying up for just half an hour). However, I did have really good dream reacall (wrote it down on paper during the hour awake). Normal dream, medium length.

Spoiler for Dream:

I was doing stuff with food preparation. FIrst, I had opened a large packet of frozen foods. It contained several meals. The sections were laid out on slightly raised up circular platforms. I noticed a hamburger bun, a patty, then a thinner hamburger bun and I put them together. I was surprised to find that there were three hamburger meals in a row, something else, then another hamburger. Apparently, this wasn't common for that particular package. I slowly put the other hamburgers together. I remember even the feel of the frozen bread and patties, even wonderingwhich little platform to place the finished product on. There was a whole line to do now.

I think I talked to my dad for a minute or two, then I was heating up food in the microwave, kinda daydreaming or thinking as I did. I'm pretty sure they were a sort of rollups, as several times I had to push one of the edges of a tortilla back around the rollup. I first put it in for 30 seconds, which I immidiately realized was too short. I opened the microwave door before it went off and was slightly surprised when the light/heating didn't go off. For some reason I was sure that Jay Leno would make a joke out of this.

I think I was on Dream Views. There was apparently a new feature that everyone was talking about which was to write detailed plans for lucid dreams before you have them. The number of plans/stories written were added to the persons profile. There was one particular person who was using this feature and had "24" (can't remember what the name was).

I remember sitting in a pile of clothes in my room, and I kept having to rearrange them to get comfortable. I was sitting or laying on the floor (or halfway in between). My mom was in the hall and had been telling me she disapproved of something. I was confused as to why even then, but I pushed the door a bit more closed anyways so that I could concentrate.

My mom was saying something about the wheather. She mentioned how yesterday earlier in the week it had been really hot. In the dream I knew about this. She talked about how my dad especially had trouble because he had to travel. She kept saying "by 4:00 it was really hot..." like that was when we arrived home. I guess all of that had to do with there being no heating or air conditioning anywhere. My mom had the window open. She had three sort of actions that she performed, depending on which student was coming, and one of them was to open the window. Since one of her students hadn't come that day, the window had remained open. I guess there was no action to close it. I was trying to persuade my mom to close the window, but she was getting all defensive. I was in the middle of calmly explaining when my alarm went off. To me it felt like there was a single long beep at the same time (or just after) my eyes popped open. It was as if time had stopped while I stared, shocked and wide-eyed at nothing in particular, then heard the alarm, seemingly quieter, continue on beeping.

Sunday Night, 1-27-08

This (normal) dream was really weird. Medium length.

My mom and I sat down at a table in a restauraunt. My mom ordered an appetizer and I think Merlot. The waitress looked at me, I guess expecting me to order an appetizer as well. I wasn't sure what to get, and didn't want to get the same thing as my mom. My mom ordered for me. She first said a bagel or some kind of fruit dish in bread. Then she said peaches and something else, and I thought it was funny that I'd been thinking of peaches in dreams the day before (in reality it was right before I had gone to sleep and I should have done an RC!) Then there was something about how another word for orange (in some obscure ancient language) was "zirco", which my mom said. The waitress said, "Oh, don't say that word, it's bad luck!" I saw a tall thin man with a short brown beard go by the window. (My mom had her back to the window and I was facing it. It was a full length window). The man had been walking briskly, then he slowed down and stopped, then patted his pockets. He looked upset, and I could tell that he had just lost his wallet.

My mom and the waitress were still talking, and I told them what had just happened. I could see the man pacing back and forth and it looked like he was talking to himself (probably swearing). The waitress was emphasizing not to say the word, and in the process she said the word. "You said it too!" I said, by now a bit worried (although the waitress seemed surprisingly unconcerned). I switched to observer mode, but could still hear the waitress' voice (it now sounded wise and quiet, like she was giving secret information). My view shifted to outside, above the street, perhaps five or ten buildings to the right of the man with the lost wallet. I saw a young boy (maybe seven years old) riding a bicycle down the middle of the street towards an oncoming car. It wasn't going very fast, but it looked like it would still cause damage. I wondered how it was that the boy could ride right at the car; why didn't he swerve to the side? I switched to the boy's perspective. I could see that the first moment, I could still contemplate going to the side, but wasn't sure of how to go about it, and the next moment, all I could do was freeze up and watch the car coming at me...

I switched back to observer mode and saw a bunch of people running up behind the kid, and the closest one managed to grab him. The car had slowed and stopped. The waitress' voice said, "Ah well, I expect cats are very expensive." Like this meant that the word didn't always "work" and cats were sometimes involved. My vision panned back towards the restaurant, slowly at first, so that I could see the sidewalk. There were several people loitering around at random, and there was an unusual number of cats around. The place had the feeling of an old villiage, but in a modern setting. My vision panned a bit faster, and I saw a strange white cat with really weird black eyes. The voice continued, "There is more about T-Lay-Twitty..." I didn't hear more because I was starting to wake up. I got the impression that "T-Lay-Twitty" (yes, I know it sounds funny, but it was serious at the time) was used to describe a bunch of words or phrases (and I guess other information), including "zirco" (because saying the words themselves would have some kind of affect). I got the impression that what the "waitress" had been about to tell me was even more powerful. I remember thinking, "So, if all I did was say 'zirco', something bad would happen to someone nearby?" I realized this was powerful/not good, "I would never say it then..." I wondered how many other people knew about this. What if I actually heard someone say it someday? But no matter what other people did, I had made my decision (and woke up).

Tuesday Night, 1-29-08

Yay, fresh lucid dream! Long.

I was petting my cat Pascal. He tried to bite me a couple times, and I had to spritz him with water. The spritzer wasn't working too well, but he eventually ran off.

I was playing some sort of video game. I think there were multiple parts to the game. I remember the last part the best. There was a bunch of other people playing also. It was basically a team effort. We had to fend off an attack. Each of us had swords. There was a large gap that had to be crossed to get to a higher level where the exit was. We figured out some odd way of getting across by throwing two swords so that they stuck point first in the opposite wall and then jumping and pulling ourselves up with the swords. Then something else had to be done using swords as leverage to get through the exit. The leader was trying to get everyone through. This was difficult because of the limited number of swords and the fact that two or three people were still stuck on the lower level, some of them without swords (since it took up several swords just to get around). I didn't have a sword now either, and I was trying to set up a kind of assembly line so that everyone could get out. Apparently there was also a time limit, and the game depended on getting as many people out as possible. We had to risk hardly anyone getting out in an attempt to get everyone out (if that makes sense).

I was playing the video game again, this time by myself. The first part of the game was to collect as many chicken eggs as possible, only you had to be careful because sometimes the chickens attacked. I was on the computer. I had a web browser on. In one tab, I was playing the video game another tab had people posting tips and various oddities of the game. I read some tips that were saying that only the mother of the egg you're trying to collect will attack you (if they catch you trying to take the egg), but if you attack a chicken, all the of chickens will attack you at once. There was no way of knowing which was the mother chicken until they tried to peck you to death. I hurried through this part of the game. I got to a spot where I could end this part without getting all the eggs, but decided to go ahead and get all the eggs anyways. Apparently they were useful for the next section (health points or something), and I realized that I would have a better chance since I wasn't splitting the eggs with other people.

I got to the next section and it was much like the last time. Only this time I was more involved in the game. Somehow it transformed into my house, and now I had to get a bunch of cats outside. There were like seven of them. There were the three cats I have now, and a few others that I used to have. I started picking cats up and putting them on the deck out back. I lifted up Pascal (my 24 pound cat) and got him outside. I thought that he would probably try to get back in since he wanted to eat more food, so after each cat I got out, I closed the sliding glass door most of the way. One of the cats I recognized as Kepler. I thought that it would be a bad idea to try picking him up, since he would get mad and scratch me, so I had to kind of usher him through the door. I saw Tabitha and another cat (might have been Lina, but she was as small as Tabby) sitting in the living room. I went over to them and picked them up, one under each arm. They both complained loudly. I placed them outside the door and closed it most of the way again. I looked in the kitchen to see Pascal laying on the floor, looking at me with big eyes. I knew he would come back in! I glanced at the timer. Thirty seconds. That was just enough time. I ran over and picked him up (with some difficulty) then ran back to the door. I pulled it back open, pushed Pascal through and followed just in time.

Now that I had made it, everything was very quiet. I was in the deck room (we had some temporary walls made out of plastic sandwiched between trellisis). Something looked different. All or most of the junk that had been stored there was gone. The place was practically empty. I saw that at least two of the trellis-walls were gone, and there were torn bits of plastic hanging down, flapping in the wind. It was raining heavily and, due to the missing walls, the water was getting onto that section of the deck. I looked around, wondering where all the cats could have gone. I heard a distant meow. I realized that I was standing there with a paper plate full of canned cat food (you know, the wet stinky kind). I got the impression that I had promised the cats I would give them food, and if I didn't, Tabitha would be very upset with me. The flimsy paper plate gave way and the stinky wet can food spilled all over my leg. Yick. I figured I could wash it off in the rain, but in the meantime I was distracted...

I looked down to see that I had no clothes on! How the heck did that happen?! I wondered about this for a few seconds and couldn't think up a logical reason why. I started to go inside to get some clothes, but the whole situation struck me as odd. I did the finger counting reality check and counted seven fingers. There were more fingers on my hand, but I didn't bother counting them because I already knew I was dreaming. I got excited and went through the roof. I regretted this almost immediately. I could feel myself starting to wake up. I calmed down a lot faster than normal. I was going "up" very slowly, and I knew the dream wouldn't last much longer. I seached my memory for what it was I wanted to do, and I remembered the advanced task of the month. I was going to visit another planet. I would fly up into space...oh no, flying was a bad thought at the time. I was now waking up faster. I chided myself for being so hasty. I should have gone down first, I thought, I should have gone through the floor not the roof. I was now closer to waking life then sleep. I thought maybe I could still turn it around. I couldn't pull myself down, so I tried to switch my perception of whether I was going up or down. I stretched my arms out and imagined that I was facing down, diving towards the ground. It seemed like it almost worked, I may have gone almost sideways and slowed the last bit of waking down, but ultimately it didn't work. I didn't move my body, but I knew that's where I was. Darn it. I thought maybe I could just WILD back down. It wasn't happening, I was too much awake. I eventually gave up.

A normal dream from about a week ago that I just got around to recording. Short.

I remembered seeing something on my bedroom wall. It looked like maybe a couple of bugs. I didn't get a chance to look at it closer because I had to go do something.

I was at some school and I explored the upper levels with some people I knew in the dream during break. Then I was in a classroom on the first floor and sat near TF. I think we were sharing food and there was something about a minirature moose with big eyes that had somehow fallen in the soup. My mom (appearing out of no where) was saying "how disgusting" and I said "Well it's not a real moose!"

I rediscovered the bugs on my wall. It looked like there were more of them. I had forgotten about it until now, and I went to look closer. The next morning, I saw that there were ten or fifteen yellowish-orangish cacoons on my wall, now almost the size of my thumb. By now I was throughly freaked out/annoyed. I tried to get my cat Tabitha to eat them (or something like that) but she wouldn't go near the wall. As I tried to figure out what to do, my little brother (I'm an only child in waking life) came over and was talking about someone his age from school who he thought would make fun of me about some trivial matter. Then he made some suggestion about the weird cacoons which I didn't really think would work.

I woke up and was relieved to see that the cacoons were gone. I told myself to dream about something else. Then I went back to sleep as I was too tired to keep my eyes open. I later realized that this was an FA because I was facing the wrong direction (my head was at the other end of the bed than usual).

Dream signs present: unfamiliar school, sibling

Hotels: I have a surprising number of dreams that take place in hotels, mostly within the past year or so. Usually I'm traipsing around trying to find someone or getting lost.

*Restaurants: My parents and I don't eat out that often, yet I have a lot of dream fragments that start out, "I was sitting around at a restaurant..." Usually indicates a laid back portion of the dream where I'm not really doing much of anything.

A disembodied voice: In my opinion, this is my most interesting dream sign. I first noticed it in a couple of lucid dreams, then when I looked back at my old dream records (and memories), I was amazed to see how many times there has been a voice in my dreams. Usually giving advice or instructions.

Siblings: I'm an only child, and yet in many dreams I have a brother or sister. Younger in almost every case, and never more than one.

Escalators: Escalators usually appear in large multi-use buildings with crowds. Sometimes they give me trouble, and other times they're just there. Maybe they appear in my dreams because I used to absolutely love escalators when I was little.

*Elevators: Similar story as the escalators, only for some reason they tend to appear in strange or deserted areas. If I'm exploring a building that would normally have an elevator, I take the stairs.

*Pools: I might think that this is a result of my mom and me going swimming pretty often, only I was having dreams about pools long before we got into the habit. Plus the pools in my dreams are somehow...different. More interesting and varied, I suppose.

*Theaters: Movie theaters and theaters with a stage. Both are a very common setting. Somewhat interesting but not supernatural stuff tends to happen there.

Unfamiliar schools: Most of the time "I'm new there" and have to go through confusion and stress...or just boredom.

*Toilets with no privacy: I do not understand this one, and I'm not going to try, but it's funny. I ought to get some of these dreams typed up.

Forests (added 2-19-08): Forests are another really common dream scene for me, especially in adventure type dreams.

*Stores (added 3-14-08): Yeah, I know it's a bit generic, but I don't go in a lot of stores in waking life, yet I have so many dreams with random stores that I don't even recognize. I finally decided to just go ahead and add it as a dreamsign.

*Fairs/Amusement Parks (added 10-7-08): It's time I added this one. I have so many amusement park dreams I practically take it for granted.

*Lady at "the front desk" (added 1-12-08): I just noticed this one. Never the same lady, as far as I can tell, but I seem to go to the front desk for information or instructions at the oddest times...

Edit: I now have so many dream signs, I'm just going to put a "*" by the ones which have even been active recently.

Between April and June 2007

Another early lucid. Very short.

I was in a small store, the kind you find at gas stations. I saw ML and I was a bit suprised to run into her. I talked to her for a while. Then I was looking around and opened the door to a frozen section to grab something, then decided not to get anything. I went out the back door and saw SL there. Then I saw that SP and AP were there too. Somehow I realized I was dreaming. I ran out into a field and started flying around, my friends a little ways behind me. When I came back down, they looked a little confused and I told them it's a dream so I can fly. They wanted to fly too. We went back near the building and stood in a line, one person at a time jumping off a sort of diving board. I was at the back of the line. I think SL went first. It was just about my turn when I woke up.

Wednesday Night 2-6-08

Well, I haven't posted here for several days since I've been sick and haven't had many clear dreams. I finally got some good ones last night, and even became lucid! Long.

Spoiler for Dream:

I saw something familiar on a sort of horizontal platform that resembled the walls in my room. I realized that they looked like the beginning stages of the "cacoons" found on my wall in a dream not too long ago. I laughed. I slowly began to lightly sweep them away with a hand broom. I stopped. How odd it would be if they were the same. I looked at them suspiciously. No, they were different. They were small, they were light, they were white they were...they were rice krispies! Yes, that's what they were. They were individual bits of rice krispies scattered evenly over this horizontal platform. This made me laugh a bit more. I swept them away with more confidence. Then I stopped again. This explanation brought new questions; Why were there little bits of rice krispies scattered here? How did they get here? And where was here anyways? Why did they resemble something out of a dream so closely? This last thought increased my suspicions. I counted seven fingers. DREAMING! I'm dreaming RIGHT NOW! No, not too excited! I told myself. With some effort I kept myself from jumping up and stayed in the dream. However everything became vague and I lost my lucidity as the scene changed.

I was sitting on the family room floor with my dad nearby. Nothing particuarly strange was happening, but the questioning from the previous scene must have carried over. I counted my fingers. At first there seemed to be five, but I wasn't fooled. I checked again and counted seven fingers. Oh good, I'm still dreaming, I thought. This put me in a good mood. I was slightly more calm this time. At first the slight rush at realizing I was dreaming seemed to de-stabilize the dream. All I could remember from my waking plans was some sort of need to go through the floor. I thought about this. It didn't work but the dream became clear and stable again. I can go through the floor later, I decided. What was so great about going through the floor anyways? I looked back at my fingers curiously. Eight this time. It seemed to me as though when I counted more fingers, I had to look at my hand in a different "way". It's kind of hard to explain, but it was almost like I had to unfocus my eyes. I didn't like looking at it that way though, it left a feeling of uncertainty. My dad suggested I try a different reality check. I remembered the finger through hand one. I hadn't tried that yet. I put my index finger against the palm of my hand. It felt a little squishier than usual, but otherwise normal. I imagined for a moment that I could push it through. Seemed unlikely but...I felt my finger go about halfway through my hand.

My dad seemed mildly interested. We talked for a short time, and he seemed to know perfectly well it was a dream. I got the impression that he was lucid dreaming too, and had know how for a very long time. I was surprised at first, then annoyed that he hadn't told me he could lucid dream so easily sooner. I turned my attention back to my hand. This time I wanted to put my finger all the way through. When my finger was a little further through than last time, I wondered why it was taking so long. I even wondered if my finger was long enough! What a ridiculous idea, I thought, my finger is way longer than the width of my hand. I wondered why my hand still felt squishy. Wouldn't the bones get in the way? I stopped to clear up that issue. No, this was a dream. If I didn't want bones in the way, there wouldn't be bones. I pushed it through the rest of the way. It had taken a surprisigly long time. I could see a ridiculously small amount of finger sticking out the back of my hand. I showed my dad, then amused myself by trying to stick my finger through different parts of my hand. After pulling my finger out after stabbing it through between my left thumb and index finger, I noticed a tear. I looked at it worriedly. It looked like part of my hand would break off. Or rather fall off in globs. I briefly imagined myself falling apart in bits. What a disaster that would be! I decided I would need to think of it differently. This was a dream, I reminded myself. I did not need to worry about my body malfuntioning. I would simply ignore the torn hand and it would go back to normal on it's own. I focused my thoughts on other issues (which I can't remember).

I was touring a building with a group of people of varying ages. There were a lot of interesting rooms in the building, but I can't remember everything. At one point I went part way through a door that led outside. There was a sort of patio, and there may have been a pool. There were some carved and painted wood or clay scenes, each about three feet wide and a foot or two tall. They hung on the outside walls of the building, which formed a partial enclosure around the patio. I was looking at it, amazed at how clear it was. I started thinking about dreams; I wanted to remember this place clearly so that I could recreate it in a dream. I was close to making the connection that I was dreaming then, but someone called to me, saying the group was moving on. I hurried back inside and caught up with the group. At first I couldn't see anyone I recognized, and I was worried that these people were from a different group that had a different schedule. I seemed to forget about these worries though.

I was petting my cat Talis who was laying on my bed. He was perfectly happy for a long time, then I started wondering if he could hear my thoughts. I thought something that was apparently offensive and he chomped down on my hand and wouldn't let go. I remember trying to pry his jaws apart so that I could get my hand free. It kinda hurt.

SP, SL, and AP were visiting. We were playing some sort of game, but when it was SP's turn, she was missing. I went off to go find her. My mom had apparently been talking to her and said she was in the living room. I found her there playing with Tabitha (cat). There was something about trying to get Tabby to chase a golf ball (something she did on her own in waking life), but the golf ball was strangely insubstatial. I wondered about the golf ball briefly, then we went back to where the others were. Now AP and SL had wandered off to get into some kind of mischief. For some reason my friends kept scattering in the dream, and I had to keep chasing after them trying to get organized.

Thursday Night, 2-7-08

Completed the basic task of the month! (Ask a DC "tell me something I don't know about myself".) Lucid dream, long.

I went to sleep (in the dream) and WILDed into a lucid dream. The descent was a bit shorter than usual. At the beginning of the falling feeling, I remembered that one of the Tasks of the Month was to levitate a groundhog. I was glad that I had remembered so quickly, and planned on doing the task once I landed. As the descent continued, I was briefly worried about winding up in a negative dream. I decided to counter this by thinking of something else...Groundhogs!! I thought. I could vaguely see little groundhog faces swirling before me. This was amusing, and put me in a good mood for a while. What happened right after I landed was very vague, but my dream self seemed to think that I had completed the groundhog task and was bored, looking for something else to do. I eventually remembered the basic task, and there were some vague dream characters nearby. I sort of loudly thought the words "Tell me something about myself that I do not know" and this was apparently enough for a response. There were lots of words, which made sense at first, only they just kept coming. As I had feared, there was so much complicated information that I couldn't remember all of it. As I tried to hear the words that were being spoken right then, I forgot the first words.

I now had a book open, and I was reading the words. For some reason, it was a solid fact that this book was by Vernor Vinge (no idea why). Reading seemed to make the words a bit clearer, although still hard to remember. After reading about a page and a half, I suddenly realized that the book had the same information as the words! My logic started to become muddled, and I reasoned that I could just read the book while awake...only I thought that there were some slight differences. How would I be sure I translated everything correctly? I decided to read/listen to the words and try to get at least some of the message. All I can remember from the whole thing was a reference to a dream I had a long time ago about having a sort of mutated brother (I'm an only child) and what this meant. I started thinking about writing everything down, and at some point I found myself writing a post on the Dream Views forum. I seemed to now think that I was awake, and my lucidity was gone. As I was reading over my post, I saw that the text was all large and colorful. I tried to figure this out, and came to the conclusion that somehow I'd cut and pasted all the previous posts into my response. I deleted that section. I got confused and I was unsure if I had posted. I was at the main forum page and managed to find the task of the month link, then clicked on February and scrolled down to the last post. The avatars all looked very similar, and they were not much more than globs and lines of color. When I saw that my post wasn't there, I tried to find what I had written before. It was gone. I started to re-type my post, with just about the only thing I could remember being "The descent was easy..."

I was standing on the stairs near the top. I was looking for a certain place to walk...Pascal was there or some reason. The cats seemed to be competing with each other. Pascal was halfway in between the bars of the banister, and I realized he was going to try to jump for the flat part on the railing halfway up the stairs. It was a really long jump, and I knew that Pascal didn't do a lot of jumping, so I was trying to warn Pascal. He ignored me and jumped. Luckily he ended up landing on the railing and slid harmlessly down until he could hop to the ground. Now Tabitha was demading my attention. She was weaving in and out between the bars easily. I resumed my search for what I was looking for. Something that I, supposedly, could walk on. I remembered some sort of white sturdy board that was up high...but I couldn't find it anywhere. Not that I was looking that hard. I noticed that there were tons of large shelves suspended over the stairway. At first there presence confused me, but then I "remembered" that of course, we'd put them there for the books. I now noticed that most of the shelves were filled with books. Tabitha was wanting to do some dangerous stunt. I put her up on the shelves, thinking that it would be safer and that she would be satisfied with the height. Tabitha jumped around the shelves, occasionally knocking a book over or onto the shelf below it. I noticed that many books had been previously knocked down. I told myself that we would have to re-organize the books at some point. Tabitha knocked a book off a shelf so that it fell all the way to the floor. I now decided that the board for me to walk on didn't exist and went into my room.

I noticed just before I entered my room that there was music playing on my CD player (which I don't use that often in waking life) and I turned it down a bit. At first I didn't know if I liked the music, but I decided it would be okay. I got on my bed, and as soon as I closed my eyes, something odd happened. I got disoriented, and couldn't quite figure out where I was. I got the information that if I felt the walls and the cieling (my bed's up high so I can touch part of it), I would be able to re-orient myself. I rolled over a bit, and for awhile I could only touch one or two walls at a time. I almost fell off the bed at one point, because it had slid away from the wall leaving a gap. Avoiding the fall caused me to get lost again. At some point I briefly opened my eyes and knew exactly where I was, but I soon closed them again. For some reason, I found myself wanting to do this with my eyes closed. I found the gap again, then managed to slide the bed back against the wall. Shortly after, I was able to find the two walls and the cieling, and knew my exact position in the room. It was a very strange feeling, to go from not knowing what was around me to actually feeling the physical around me. Now I noticed that the music was playing really loud. It seemed to be very close to my head, and it was even loud enough to hurt my ears. My first response was to slide away from the CD player, which at least made my ears feel better. Then I thought I could hear my parents calling, but the music made it impossible to know exactly what they were saying. I reached down and turned the volume on low.

I forgot about trying to figure out what my parents had said, as there were some sort of spirits or beings that were there that didn't seem particuarly friendly. I didn't find it hard to remain calm though. For one thing their energy didn't feel that strong; that is to say that they didn't cause an immediate response of fear as in some nightmares. I just laid on my side with my eyes closed most the time as they hovered near my feet and talked to each other and occasionally to me. Their words (which I can't remember) showed that they did not mean well. I tried to "send them love" (I'd been reading that's what some DV members do in nightmares). I didn't think I was doing it quite right. I was able to have short bursts of positive feelings though. At one point I realized that although the beings were being nasty with words, they weren't taking any action. They weren't terribly afraid of me, but they seemed reluctant to attack.

The scene changed. I was walking through a large one story building that resembled a store. There were only a few people around. I joined a small group of them. We stood in a line in one of the aisles. I was way too warm because I was wearing a sweater, but I had to keep it on because I was still sick (I was sick in waking life). The leader/teacher told us that sometimes it was beneficial to meditate on a "bad" person's energy. They gave us the name of a person. I briefly thought that I didn't have any experience meditating, but I knew I could do this task. I was able to feel the energy very quickly, and it surprised me at first because it was different than one would expect. I facinated by the energy; it was very interesting and complicated. I tried to hold on to the feeling so I could find out more about it, but couldn't. I walked away for a bit (to find my parents?) and some other stuff happened. Then I came back to try to rejoin the group, but something else distracted me (which I can't remember).

Between August or September 2007

I think I had just had an FA, as the first thing I remember is that I was sitting on my bed. I did the finger count RC and became lucid. I grabbed my finger and pulled on it, remembering that people said it was fun to stretch fingers in dreams. It didn't work at first. I noticed that my little finger was extremely short. I eventually had some limited sucess stretching my fingers and floated down to the floor. I stood in front of the mirror in my room and experimented with changing the color of my clothes. I managed to make it light blue and made the sleeves longer. The scene changed and I was standing outside my house in the driveway. I looked up and to my left and the sky was incredibly beautiful. It turned from night to day as I watched. It was now early in the morning, and the whole neighborhood was quite. I started to go down the sidewalk to my right, taking big steps so that I would go through the air in slow motion for a bit before landing again. I turned to my left at the corner and crossed the street. By now I was leaping up pretty high. People were just starting to come out of their homes now, and there were a couple of kids nearby. I showed off how I could fly, and they were impressed once they realized that I was defying the laws of physics. I continued on for a short time before I lapsed into a normal dream.

I was standing in my driveway and I was lucid. I was apparently being chased by some people, and I created a door and stepped through it. I was now in a place that didn't have much to it; almost everything was white and I could sort of "see" myself hiding behind a wall as people passed near me. There may have been one or two other people temporarily hiding with me. For some reason I was holding an insulin needle and almost nicked myself with it. (This may be because my cat had just started to need insulin shots due to diabetes).

I didn't stay behind the wall very long, and I managed to run into a sort of room or hallway. One of the people chasing me found me. It was the dark haired lady who was leading the group. I remembered some interesting things about dreaming; the ability to go through floors, to WILD within a dream, how there seems to be many levels below levels. I tried to tell the lady about all the amazing things that could be done. I told her she could go through the floor right now if she wanted to. By now I was getting very emotional, trying to get her to understand something that seemed like a great revelation. And she actually did seem to understand. Now she was on her knees, crying with the realizations, and I was practically crying myself, amazed that I had been actually been able to communicate. It's hard to describe what it was I was trying to communicate. Part of it was that the lady's motivation for chasing me didn't matter any more because there was something else that was infinitely more important.

I don't usually do much drawing, but I'm going through a drawing phase. Who knows, maybe I'll even be consistant with drawing my dreams. Here's something I drew from the beginning of the dream The Invaders (Middle of January 2007). The creature is supposed to be a wolf, although it looks more like a fox...I used colored pencils and white acrylic paint for the snow (the paint didn't show up much after scanning).

Wednesday Night, 2-13-08

Spoiler for Dream:

I was sitting at a resturant with a friend (don't think I know them in waking life). A waitress came by and asked if we wanted fries. My friend said yes and for some reason I agreed. I looked at the menu. I wanted to get the chicken strips, but I noticed that they were 11.99! Then I found myself wishing I hadn't gotten the fries, which were five dollars. Then I thought that if I had to get something on the side, I should have gotten the salad for the same price since I didn't even like fries.

I was at an arcade type of place. I think the same friend from the previous fragment was there. They were talking to me, but I wasn't paying much attention. They went off to get some food (or something like that) I was doing that dance game where you have to step on the arrows that appear on the screen. I thought briefly that I was missing some of the steps, but the game didn't seem to register that. I mentally shrugged. I was having fun in any case. I was acting a lot more extroverted than I would in waking life. After a while, there were two arrows at a time, and I jumped around, grinning like an idiot. Then it switched suddenly to three arrows at a time which totally confused me for a moment. I tried stepping on the arrows one after another, which I was sure was wrong, but the game just kept going. I even wondered for a moment if I had the right number of legs...Then I thought that maybe I was supposed to use both my feet and one of my hands, but I figured that was too much like Twister.

I was in observer mode and I watched a long and involved plot. It started out with a whole bunch of people getting married and divorced and and re-married and re-divorced...I got bored and lost track of it all after a while. One of the main people involved was some really rich annoying guy. Rich; hence the marriages. Annoying; hence the divorces. Anyways, the scene changed to a concert hall which had a full house. There was a large orchestra onstage. The stage was actually very high up in the air. An announcer said that the orchestra would be accompaning a famous pianist who started piano at the age of six...for some reason everyone found this ridiculous and they started laughing. The announcer quickely told them, "..but she's just turned seven!!!" The audience laughed even harder.

The girl walked onto stage despite the scoffs and started playing. I thought that the piano sounded amazing. The piano stopped for a while, and the orchestra played it's part. I thought that it wasn't the best orchestra in the world. The sound was very faint and didn't have much enthusiasm. The piano continued and I enjoyed the music again. Then the piano stopped again and the difference in quality between the piano and the orchestra was immidiately apparent. I thought it was strange that the orchestra was playing so much quieter when there were so many more instruments playing at once. I got the information that the girl was communicating with the conducter visually from a distance to instruct them on phrasing. I noticed that the orchestra's playing became more dramatic and increased in volume to match the piano. The rest of the piece was very good, and I was thoroughly impressed with the seven-year old. After the performance, the people weren't laughing any more, but they mostly ignored the girl. I decided that they were stupid and the scene changed.

The plot was now a bit more interesting. There was a secret building where the bad guys were making their plans. They had kidnapped a bunch of children, and they were plotting agains the rich guy. A couple of the lesser minions were talking nearby. One of them wondered why the kids weren't being watched very closely. The other said that the kids had been told of the dangers of the forest, which the building was in the middle of. They listed a few odd creatures and anomalies. They said, "Besides, even if they ventured away from the building, they wouldn't get out of the forest." The minions laughed. I got the impression that they didn't consider the kids to be all that important to the plan, that they only needed a few anyways.

The scene changed again and I was watching just outside the mansion where the rich guy lived (I got the impression I had seen this mansion before). The rich guy was there with some other people, and he revealed that he actually wanted to be with his first wife, despite the fact that everything he had done indicated otherwise. I mentally called him an idiot and watched some more interesting characters. There were a couple of people (goodguys) who seemed to know something of the bad guys' plans. They went into the mansion, talking about how they would be impersonating the head butler and another person that worked in the kitchen. They assumed these other people were gone, but then the real kitchen person came back. Luckily they were on the same side, and told the newcomers how to really impersonate the head butler (the imposter had been too cheerful). Then the real kitchen person told about how a certain other person (who they all knew) had been on a mission and had gotten trapped within the forest. The fake kitchen person said "Oh no, he could be dead even now!" and fainted. The other two laughed at them, then they each realized the meaning of the words and also fainted.

All I remember is that I was standing at the edge of a cliff near a forest. There were some other people with me and we were waiting sullenly for the tidal wave. Somehow I knew that it would start near Russia, and I'd been traveling all over the world up until that point. I got the impression I had just failed, although I wasn't too surprised.

Friday Night, 2-15-08

NOTE: Before I went to sleep, I thought I noticed something on my wall. I thought it might be a small moth, as there had been a lot of moths around. I shone a light on it, and it looked more like a piece of fuzz. A very odd piece of fuzz. I even thought it might be a cacoon. That would be amazing, I thought, I'd had two somewhat recent dreams about cacoons on my wall, of all things. Then I thought I saw movement. As I looked closer, I saw a small worm come out of the "fuzz" and start climbing up the wall, dragging it's cacoon with it! Needless to say I did several reality checks, and was amazed to find that I was awake. It eventually occured to me that the worm thing might just be trying to get away from the light I'd been shining on it as I sat there gaping at it. Normally I would have freaked out, but I found too much meaning and humor in the experience.

As I had fallen asleep, I had speculated that the cacoon might have belonged to a moth. As a result, I dreamt that there were hundreds of full grown moths that had hatched from the cacoons on my wall. Some were fluttering around, but most were resting on the far wall near the window. I looked at them for a long time. They were incredibly beautiful, and their colors and patterns were all unique. I remember showing my mom and taking pictures.

Saturday Night, 2-16-08

Short normal dream. Rather fun.

I was with two or three other people. We made a pricy deal with another group of people so that we could use their field for our flying machine to take off. After waiting around for a while, we got chased by yet another group of people, as expected, and we ran through the forest. At first, we couldn't see the field at all. Then we ran into it. "You call this a field!!" one of my allies shouted. The field was tiny. The flying machine barely even fit there on the ground. We had to try to take off anyways. The flying machine strongly resembled a helicopter. There were a few large trees nearby that were worrying all of us. Getting into the air was painstaking, and I got really nervous about the amount it was tilting from side to side. The other people were yelling at the pilot to watch out for the tree that was just a few inches behind us, and I keep telling them to get higher. Eventually we were higher, and we all relaxed a bit.

Now I was looking down on the land beneath me, and I realized that it looked like a map. My mom was now there, for some reason, and she was pointing to France (the words and boundaries were marked in black "ink") and the helicopter-like flying machine decended. I told myself that I should be seeing actual land, not a map! Once we landed, things were somewhat more normal. It was night time, and I found myself standing at the edge of a very large square pool. On the other side of the pool were at least five large white statues of lions sitting up straight. They were two or three times taller than me. I glided over the water (not thinking much of it) to get a closer look at the statues. Then my mom said it was time to go, which suprised me since she had been the one who had wanted to go there in the first place.

Sunday Night, 2-17-08

A medium length normal dream about music on the beach and getting bitten by a dog.

I was in observer mode at night time, watching some people on a beach. There was a "leader" person who was instructing a bunch of kids, apparently in training. He sent about half of them to swim in the ocean and complete some task. As they were just starting to swim, a mysterious person appeared. I got the information that the leader did not like this person. The newcomer had some sort of percussion instrument, somewhat like symbols. They were able to play a really complicated rhythm and even different notes. The kids still standing on the beach seemed impressed, but the leader remarked that it was a useless skill, and that so-in-so girl was wasting time playing the same instrument. The newcomer simply walked a few steps away and continued to play. After a while, I could hear a saxaphone, and then a horn or trumpet.

Later, some people were talking about how the girl from the beach had recently gotten a scar over her eye. The people were talking about how it was exactly like the mysterious person, and that there were many more similarities. They speculated that the two people might be related. I thought that would be interesting since most of the similarities being pointed out weren't genetic.

I vaguely remember something about being in the family room, needing to keep the door closed, and someone staying over. The fragment seemed rather stressful.

I was in a shop with a couple of guys that I knew (in the dream). This was apparently their shop, and they hadn't opened yet. One of them was putting stuff together while the more serious one told me details about a problem (I think it was related to the previous fragment). I noticed the first one putting together a miniature version of armor, and lamenting that they didn't have a sword. I realized I had my dagger with me, which I'd been showing off, and I offered that. They said no, it wouldn't match. The other guy scolded them for wasting time, then told me that we needed some other important object. I remembered where it was, and ran to get it. I had to run quite a distance along the sidewalk outside. Several buildings down, I noticed a large, friendly looking dog. However, as I ran past it, I wondered if running would be such a great idea, and sure enough the dog began to chase me. A few seconds later it managed to chomp down on my hand (painful). It bit me a couple more times before I woke up. I was only awake for about three to five seconds, then I was right back in the same dream. Now I tried flying away, but it didn't seem to be working. I wondered if it would be better to just let the dog bite me. I slowed down a bit and the dog chomped through the middle of my foot. This time it really hurt, and I was very annoyed upon waking up.

Thursday Night, 2-14-08

A short lucid. Rather amusing once I woke up.

I opened a bottle of Martinelli's sparkling apple cider and started pouring it into glasses. I wasn't really paying attention to this at the time, but I remember it clearly. My dad was mad at me for some reason, and wouldn't listen to logical reasoning. I thought this was very odd and out of character. My mom was silent nearby, not getting involved. Also out of character. Eventually my dad stomped off into another room. I then found myself standing halfway up the stairs, suddenly suspicious. I counted my fingers to confirm that I was dreaming, then drifted down the stairs and into the living room. I was trying to figure out what this meant, and I thought to myself, "I'm dreaming, which means I can...stick my hands through the cieling!" I jumped into the kitchen and floated up so that I could briefly stick my hands through the cieling. But I went back down, remembering it was better to go through the floor. It started to work, I felt as though I was partially through the floor. However, as I looked around, I noticed that I was actually on my side, laying down on the floor. I tried again. I wound up just rolling around, the linolium floor surprisingly solid. My mom walked into the kitchen and pointed to an old paper plate that used to have cat food on it, indicating that I should hand it to her (in a sort of "I have no idea what you're doing, but since you're down there..." way). A bit confused, I handed her the plate, then continued rolling around, trying to get through the floor as the dream faded and I woke up.

Saturday Night, 2-23-08

Normal dream, medium length. Fragments about my deceased cat, a theater in our living room, and catching butterflies.

I was in the backyard near the deck. I saw Moffette (a cat I used to have) walking towards me. She looked healthy and young, and her fur was black and in good condition. She looked exactly like I remembered, except for her eyes. Well, they looked the same physically, but her expression was somehow different. At one point I thought, "Wait a minute, I thought she died..." Moffette's eyes got wider, as though she had heard my thought and was surprised. I got a bit embarrassed and thought, "Well, she still exists, obviously, just in a different way..." I tried to figure out how it was I was seeing her, and why it didn't seemed strange, but then I had to go do something.

I went into a theater. I'd decided to come early to get a better seat. I wondered why no one else did. (The theater had a vague resemblance to my living room, not noticed at the time). My parents were there shortly after me, and we tried to figure out what the best place to sit would be. I remembered being there not long before. In the memory, I had sat next to my mom near the ground. We were somewhat far away from the screen, but apparently this was a good place to be to get a good view. The seats were arranged in a full circle around the screen, which was a 2D projection, seemingly holographic, only more solid looking. All I remembered from the movie that was playing, was a woman sitting in a field. When she tilted her head back, it became distorted and white, almost disappearing completely. I realized that this was just a flaw with the projection. I decided that if for some reason I ever decided to make a movie, I would have to make sure not to put anything important near the edges. At least not for this type of format.

Now I was looking at the other seating options. There seemed to be four likely possiblities. I paid more attention to one section, which was upraised more than the others. I knew that these seats would be taken first, and I wondered why my parents didn't seem to want to sit there. My dad explained those seats were reserved for people who were willing to comment on each of the films. (I remembered that last time the person running the theater had addressed the up-raised section of people, insisting that every one of them would have to comment on that particular film. I got the impression that usually only a few would comment, picked at random.) Not wanting to be put on the spot, I chose a seat in the section across from it. The theater soon filled with people, and the films began. They were short films, and the reason for the commentary made more sense now. I thought that maybe it would have been fun to comment on the films after all, but I decided that I wouldn't have been able to come up with the fancy words every time.

I was in observer mode in a field. There was a group of (younger) people and kids. I noticed that there was a gathering of butterflies several feet away, and they were all resting on the grass facing the same direction. I switched into the perspective of one of the people in the field. The kids wanted me to catch the butterflies and I noticed I had a sort of cylindrical piece of cloth. I ran towards the butterflies and they started to fly, more like a flock of birds or a school of fish than butterflies the way they were changing direction at the same time. Just as I thought I wouldn't be able to keep up with them, the kids came from the other direction and chased them into the make-shift net. It was a lot of fun running around with the cloth trailing behind me. Later, I was in the dining room, trying to decide what to do with the butterflies. I decided it would be too much effort to keep them, since I was having a hard enough time just poking air holes.

Tuesday Night, 2-19-08

Lucid dream, medium length. A bit odd.

Someone showed me a wall of sorts, saying that something interesting would happen when I walked towards it. The "wall" looked like a tall archway with a picture of stairs on it. As I walked towards it, it became the floor, and I went down the stairs. I could actually feel the center of gravity shifting beneath my feet. After going down, there was another wall almost exactly the same, and the same thing happened when I walked towards it. Three or four levels down, The scene faded and I was floating upwards, though I didn't associate it with waking up at the time. In fact, I didn't wake up right away, I just hovered there for a while. I was feeling some very uncomfortable vibrations around my midsection, and they got stronger to the point of feeling suppressive and even painful. Ignoring it didn't work, and the vibrations wouldn't go away. I woke up (later realized it was an FA because I was facing the wrong direction) and the vibrations were still there. I drifted in and out of sleep a few more times. At one point, I tried focusing on the feeling to try to figure out what it was. It seemed like I was starting to understand, there were a lot of complexities that I didn't notice before, however focusing on it meant the pain got worse. It got so bad that I couldn't focus on anything. Eventually I woke up (for real?) and I was able to get back to sleep a few minutes later.

When I was asleep again, I knew I was dreaming. There was some vauge information about a creature that went up and down the stairs. I noticed that there were lots of stairs, going every which-way, usually through archways. Similar to the previous scene, only they weren't as predictable in their placement and gravity didn't shift. A voice said to wait for the creature to (forget what, something about when/how they passed by?) before going down the stairs. I would be fine if I waited, but otherwise the creature could get me. My mom was nearby. I was running up and down several stairs, sure that it would be easy enough to "wait", like the voice said. However, while I was on one of the upper levels, I started to go a bit crazy. Maybe all the twists and turns had confused me. I ran more quickly and knew that I hadn't "waited". I found my mom and pretended that I had scratches on my face, as though the creature had gotten me. It seemed like I was trying to make fun of the situation to avoid the dream turning into a nightmare. It worked. My mom only stared at me blankly. I thought maybe I hadn't "pretended" right. Now I became interested in how I could make it look like I had scratches on my face. After a while, I imagined in just the right way and could feel the scratches there, and I was sure they would show up. My mom wasn't the leat bit impressed, but she seemed to acknowledge that she could see the scratches.

I was in observer mode in some sort of pet store that was being closed down. All that was really left was a medium sized aquarium. There were two or three people there. One guy was talking about whether or not they should move the aquarium. There was also a woman there, who was looking at the aquarium. I switched to her perspective. I thought the tank looked like it could use a good cleaning. I got the information that I had wanted to put colored lights in the aquarium. There were a couple lights there, like an example. I moved them so that there were beams of light shining up through the water that the fish swam through.

Then the people said we had to leave right away because there was a big storm coming. I ran outside, I think I was myself again. I managed to get back to my house. It seemed almost like hurricane force winds, and by the time I got inside, it was pouring heavily. I closed and locked the doors and ran upstairs, into my mom's room for some reason. I sat on the bed there and noticed that Moffette (cat I used to have) was sitting in a pile of clothes. There was also another cat in the room. I was temporarily confused as to how many cat's we had, but I convinced myself (mostly) that we had four, not three. I pet Moffette's fur. It was very soft and long. A few minutes later, my mom came home and the storm eventually stopped. There was something about how my mom wanted to keep the window shades open, but I wanted to close them.
