It took me a long time to fall asleep last night (an hour and a half I think) and I woke up a few times. I usually fall asleep in about 10 minutes and sleep through the night. I didn't do any seriously involved techniques like I usually do, I just did some auto-suggestion about remembering to RC and realizing when I am dreaming. I just couldn't focus, so I let my mind wander.
I don't clearly remember how I got into the lucid dream. I might have done a FILD, because I remember thinking, "10 seconds. No, 30 seconds. I'll do a RC in 30 seconds," and feeling kind of like I was taking a leap of faith when I plugged my nose. I don't remember moving my fingers at all though, which is why I think it may have been a regular DILD.
I did the RC, found I was dreaming, and looked around. Everything was black. I didn't get too excited or anything, but tried to decide what I should do. As I said, it was dark, and I had read a post about lighting and making the sun rise etc. so I decided to make the sun rise. I thought, "what time is it? The sun is probably on the other side of the earth now," so I held my arm to the ground and slowly raised it, knowing that I was controlling the sun. It followed my arm to the center of the sky, and there I let it stay. It was hard to see, though, because of some clouds that were in the way. The clouds took up very peculiar lighting, and I became engrossed in them and lost lucidity. I can't remember anything after that.
