      Why use IdXLog when the better alternative's already here?

      Yes, that's right. Liquid Dream II by somebody who defintely isn't me is now available. It already has like 30 different features IdXLog dosen't, and it dosen't use visual basic either.

      Among them is automatic graphing of what you've dreamt, dreamsign recognition, some lucidinducer thingy and alsorts of other stuff. It also looks cool.

      What's that? It costs money? Well, no, it dosen't. On the downloads page there is a link for a "crack" to it. It is hardly illegal because the author provides the link on his own page.

      So the future of IdXLog?
      The recycle bin.

      Well I could hardly keep people in the dark about this alternative, could I? The guy who made Liquid Dream makes them for fun too, and keeping his hard work "veiled" would be mean too. Sure, I could of not compared it to IdXLog- but where's the fun in that?

      Yes. Back on the download page (the one with the "winsite" link), below it somewhere is a link to the crack.

      Well, think about this way. You consider yourself haxx0r, right? what if I'll start to diss you cause I feel like doing it?
      will you feel good about it?
      I doubt that...

      Yeah. I'm not forcing you to use it- like I've said, it's just nice to know there is another free alternative available.

      Thanks for pointing me towards an alternative, Kaniaz. A 13 (or whatever)-year old like you would probably not understand that I develop IdXLog for the fun of it, and it's getting better every day. So it's not resigned to the recycle bin yet... ok, it has a few VB related OCX problems, but I have dicovered I can distribute them with my program ow quite legally. I've yet to follow the link, but besides, my program is made free, and requires no crack to make it free.

      Hey, and when my website is up and running, you won't have to sit through a minute of Matrix bull shit just to get to the downloads page!

      I would prefer it immensely if you didn't automatically assume that since I am 13 years old I do not understand things. I find that pretty rude, thanks. So allow me to gently point you towards a few subtely placed words that, obviously, a 20-or-something year old like you dosen't understand.

      I've placed the key word there in bold for your convience. Obviously it refers to you, as as far as I can tell there are no other dream diary programmers out there [Alchera could be one, but it is not free, and therefore doesn't count in this discussion].

      <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><!--quotec-->ok, it has a few VB related OCX problems, but I have dicovered I can distribute them with my program ow quite legally.
      How nice.

      Er, so? A 3 second delay in clicking and pasting 3 peices of text is hardly a feature to boast about, yeah, but it's hardly the world's most giant inconvience.

      <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><!--quotec-->Hey, and when my website is up and running, you won't have to sit through a minute of Matrix bull shit just to get to the downloads page!
      That is a fair point - I don't like sitting through all that either, so, I spent an whole minute of my life that could have been better spent staring out the window to get the direct links:

      Liquid Dream II from Winsite
      Microsoft .NET Framework
      Crack

      I think that nullifies that post.

      <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><!--quotec-->So the future of IdXLog? &nbsp;
      The recycle bin. &nbsp;
      That was amazingly enough, a joke. That's why the little tounge icon appeared right next to it. I have absoutely no desire for your work to go into the recycle bin- from what I can glean from your various posts, you've put in at least a solid weeks worth of work into it.

      <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><!--quotec-->Why do you like these kinds of things? What [i] are [i] these kinds of things?
      I like these kind of things because it's happened to me before. There I am, sitting there making something under the impression that there isn't already one of it, that usually being the reason I started making it. Then one day, I find another alternative has already been available for a while already, which really pisses me off because it defeats the reason I had made/started making the thing in the first place. So, I expect you are asking why I'm "loving it" (mcdonalds). Well, the reason being that I've never seen it happen from a '3rd person' view, if you like. However, I doubt the reason you started the project was because there was no other one. According to your posts, you make it for fun. So there's absolutely no problem there, is there?

      So now I hope I've made it clear that this topic was simply to show another alternative is available to you, and besides, it was bound to be found and posted on the forums another time anyway.

      P.S: If you still feel like moaning about this, or perhaps throwing a few cuss words at me, feel free to do it via e-mail ([email protected]), PM, AIM, or MSN. I don't want this topic to have to be renamed "boring flame fight", if you get what I mean.

      Yeah I'm very sorry Kaniaz I was 13 once and was not an idiot. I just said that because I was a bit annoyed of the way you peresented the information; I think you can see that it was presented to provoke me in the slightest degree. I admire you for routing out an alternative - thank you - but there is no need to metaphorically thrust the current hopelessness of my program in my face, I've sweat over IdXLog and do not like seeing it ridiculed.

      Due to circumstances unrelated to this conversation, IdXLog is no longer available; journalers will have to wait until the release of Dream Journal 1.0 (the mythical 'new version') in Autumn-Winter 2004.

      (The simple fact is that I am quite tired of mailing everyone, I'm waiting for my as yet non-existant website to materialise. The wait will be worth it, honest; the new version is already much better than 1.23, but as yet in non-working order.)
