Awake And Dreaming makes it awfully hard to drive

      26Mar08

This one takes place on a wide, flat beach with rolling dunes opposite a dark sea. I am standing in the center watching what looks like construction take place on a barge from a small wooden pier; all of the workers are wearing skirts like ancient Egyptians. On the hills I can see trucks through a small telescope. I look briefly at the trucks before I loose interest. I turn my attention to the barge. There is a crane lowering a metal disk that a crew of workers guide to cover the open end of what looks like the hopper off of a cement truck. I approach the pier and begin to talk to their foreman, who just so happens to be a friend of mine and is wearing a white and red head dress. As we're talking, I get the feeling that his workers don't respect him. I see them glare at him out of the corner of my eye.Another person walks up, it's the foreman's supervisor. The foreman immediately starts to get nervous and soon goes back over to work on the barge. The supervisor says nothing to me, I'm not being ignored, but it seems that we're both content just watching the men work.

*The friend of mine who appears as the foreman is someone I work with who has lately been having trouble with his superiors.

      Been a while

My group has just started settling down and given me a chance to pay more attention to my sub conscious antics:

      25Aug08

I am in the hallway of a dimly lit office building; I have the distinct feeling that I am underground. I am wearing only my ACUs armed with a small pistol and accompanied by an attractive young woman with a deeply tanned complexion and bright brown hair. She is wearing white and is armed as well. We make our way down a six foot wide hallway with the lights out and briefly clear each room. The rooms are all well lit and the light spilling from their doors is the only light piercing the endless hallway. Two of the rooms catch my attention, the first is forgettable; a simple bed surrounded by dull plastered walls and a desk off to one side. I know that this is Hillary Clinton's office/romp room. The other room right next door is Obama's and is much more well decorated. A beautiful oak desk off to the side in the same place as Clinton's, but a wall separates an adjoining room that has campaign posters all over the walls and a round bed with red velvet comforters and pillows and golden headpiece. On the bed are two Sweedish topless women who appear to be twins. A smile crosses my face as the twins take my partner and I into consideration.

      (transition)

Now I am alone, outside of an Iraqi farmhouse in full battle gear armed with my SAW. It appears to be night, but I have my dark eye-pro lenses in for some reason. I am not alarmed as I enter the house and am greeted by none other than Osama Bin-Laden. He is dressed in an off white man dress and he ushers me up the stairs of the mud brick house to the second floor. The upper floor is open(*an unusual trait for an Iraqi house*) and through the one pane less window I can see that dawn is about an hour away. There is a woman dressed all in black standing in an alcove; she says nothing and makes no movement to acknowledge our presence. Bin-Laden leads me to what looks like a small sheep roasting on a spit over a campfire he has started inside. The meat is slightly charred and he cuts off a piece from what I take is one of the front legs and puts it into a piece of samoon(*Iraqi diamond shaped bread*), making an impromptu kabob(*samoon with sliced veggies and usually ground lamb or goat*). As I am about halfway through it, he thanks me for giving him the freedom to rid himself of a useless wife and daughter. I realize that it wasn't a lamb he gave me, but a small child. He then takes a rib from his daughter's body and stabs the woman in black in the chest, killing her.
      Live for the day.

      Giant caterpillar

Most of this dream blurred together at the beginning, leaving me with about half of the story intact...

      28Mar08

My platoon is off in the Kuwaiti desert doing some serious training. At one point myself and one of my Sergeants(*who I consider a good friend*) are left pack while the rest of the platoon goes out on a training mission. We ride in a Humvee with no doors talking wearing our uniforms and helmets. My Sergeant drives to a hundred fifty meter square area surrounded by a long, unbroken berm(*sand hill usually made by a bull dozer*) that is almost perfectly smooth. I get out of the truck and trade my helmet for a green elf hat and grab a sword out of the backseat(*and yes I have figured out the Zelda connection- it gets worse*). I walk a little ways into the sandbox and a huge bulbous red caterpillar about fifty meters long pops out of nowhere spewing sand and rears up into the air(*just like a sequence from the games*) as it comes down, I see what look like roller coaster wheels pop out of its sides and I know if I get too close, they will bounce me away.

*Then a buddy of mine opens the door and the light from the hallway wakes me up, I had been sleeping for all of fifteen minutes...

*And this is not my first dream that has turned into a bad rendition of a video game, just the first one in a very long time.
