poke's dream journal

Online journal, perhaps a way to ensure motivation? Someone harrass me if I don't keep this up
Anyway. Real names, places, and naughty bits will mostly be censored. (stuff in parenthesis) are vague dream memories I'm not really sure of, [stuff in brackets] are my notes, {stuff in braces} for when things relate to 'real' life.

NB: my dreams aren't usually very interesting

I'm meeting L at B station - we're going to X together. We're arriving from different directions and meeting on the right platform. I'm just coming out of the toilets (having met M in inside?) when I hear an announcement on the tannoy that a delayed train to X is just arriving - we can catch that one! I sprint to the platform and when I reach the top of the stairs start waving my arms to attract Ls attention, hopefully she'll have come to the same conclusion as me, but when I notice her, she's not making any attempt to board the train, despite my frantic gestures. By the time I reach her the train doors have closed and its too late to catch. Her reason for not wanting to get on is pretty vague (to do with her parents location), this annoys me, even more so when she admits that she thinks the trains we're 'supposed' to catch - listed on our tickets - aren't actually happening. I investigate the posted timetable - train times to stations are just listed under the station name [not right], and it does seem that the last train was the one that just went. I go to ask a member of staff how to get to Y [destination change] and he says we should go to Oodle [made up place] {presumably related to Moodle, software I've been investigating during the day} and connect from there. I've changed at Oodle before when going to X, but it's a very small station and I'm not convinced; however I reckon we'd have time to get back here before our 'official', maybe-not-happening train comes if it doesn't work. We get immediately on to the Oodle train, and shortly after arrive in Oodle, the next stop. The train goes way past the actual platform and stops in town. We climb down and start to walk back up the train tracks to the platform [actually just a road/path, no rails!]. We go through the center of town and pop into a baby shop. L wants to take a free promo magazine for work; I admire some pretty greetings cards.

I'm in W in a pub with N and some other people I don't know. There are lots of people smoking in here which is illegal now but no-one else seems to mind, I don't feel inclined to protest! I'm not enjoying myself so decide to leave; I down my drink and walk outside - no-one asks where I'm going, I think they think I'm going to the loo. Walk round the block - late summer day, lots of people out ready to party. I get back towards the pub when two people I know push me against a wall. I think they want my lottery ticket - but I tell them it only won £2.50. They pull out a knife with a folding blade and tell me they want my muffin {unusually I had one at lunch}. Unfortunately I've eaten it; they don't believe me. I grab the knife and start to wrest it away from the holder, he puts up some resistance but it's like he wants me to have it in my hands, as if he's going to use some clever martial arts thing to stab me while I hold the knife, so as soon as I have it I fling it across the road. He gets really angry .... Then I'm running back into W along the canal, jumping across a boat; somethings chasing me (werewolf or terminator??). I dash into a fast-food takeaway and tell the owner to run but he won't, as I'm running down the stairs I hear him screaming. There's a tin of frankfurter like sausages on a shelf at the foot of the stairs - in the kitchen - I pause to grab one and eat it before running on .... a friend and I have managed to get hold of some shotguns. We're loading up, there are some unusual shaped cartridges which look like two cartridges connected by four little fingers; I have already loaded some with just one body and the fingers when I find out that these are broken ones, the second body is some kind of tranquilizer.

I'm in the garden at my parents home {nothing like the real place}. The three kids my mother childminds for are here. I leave the garden over the back wall and run around the city a bit, parkour style, and return to the garden. I stop two of the kids from kicking me by grabbing both their pairs of legs in one hand [!]. I give A some slime stuff to play with [don't know where I got it from], B wants some too so I head into the house to find some. The kids parents have arrived to take them away. I was my hands to get rid of the slime residue and go upstairs to my bedroom to find some more. Both my parents come in shortly afterwards and present me with a nice penknife, as some kind of return for spending money on the three kids - although I haven't done any such thing, they're oblivious to my protests. Dad also hands me a credit-card style penknife that goes with it. I peel of several layers of protection (bit like iPod case), and notice it has a scaled down video game built-in (zelda?), which I play for a bit. Go back downstairs - remember I'm supposed to be looking for some green socks [no longer slime!] and think they might be in one of my cars [I have no cars]. Head out to the drive [home is more like real now, not in city]; people are leaving [what people?] in my cars and others; I check the first, can only find black socks; check the boot of the other and find the green socks, as well as a load of cool stuff from when I was at uni that I forgot about (inc. a CD...). The people driving this car have started heading off already so I have to chase the car - not moving quickly - and grab the stuff out of the boot as it's driving away.

I'm with L in a big city. We go to a shop to buy some sausages. The shop is tiny, mostly filled with the counter and only a narrow 'alley' for the customers to fit in - we have to let the current customer out before we can go in. I ask for 6 sausages - there's some confusion over what size sausage but we want the biggest. L notices a sign while we're being served that implies the sausages might affect her food allergy, but we've had them in the past without any problems so we ignore it. The layout of the shop has changed a bit now, more of a counter where several people are leaned against, and the guy at the end asks for some help of a personal kind(?). The guy next to him - blue jumper, grey hair, glasses, starts to ask quite cryptically about the problem. L thinks he know what he's doing and it turns out that they work together. We leave the shop and the whole city is full of young people rioting. They're lots of police out. I hope we'll manage to get away, we're getting older now and we're married and quiet looking - I hope, so we sidle to one of the ways out of town, round the back as it were by the cathedral. We get there unmolested but notice the gate out of town is shut and guarded. There is another way round it, through the graveyard on our right. There is a chest-height iron railing round it though which L wouldn't be able to get over; so I throw her over! She rolls a bit more than I expected and doesn't look very comfortable but she's over. I jump over and immediately a guard of some kind comes and asks us what we're doing. He asks to see some ID so I pull out my driving license. He starts shouting at me, asking why it's pink {all driving licenses are pink!}; I try to point out that it's real but he's not having any of it. Somehow though he just leaves, and we manage to get through the gate without being stopped again. I feel very relieved and hug L.

I'm in C [different city to previous dream], behind the cathedral. I'm in a powered wheelchair disguised as an old man. I pass two people that I know, one of them looks at me a bit funnily but we quickly pass and I don't think he knew who I really was. There's some kind of cafe shed here that I get a lovely concoction of strawberries, raspberries and cream from; it's not as good as last time, I seem to remember that I ordered it a day in advance before so they had more time to prepare it. I ear a small amount. I'm now getting into the shopping part of the city; some strange man keeps on trying to get me to go into the surprisingly many small cat gift shops. At the end of a small mall-like corridor is an art shop that O wanted me to check is still there, part of a book she's writing, and it is, although its space has been encroached on by the opposite gift shop. As I'm leaving I pass some more old people, they are with L, and then the lot of us are walking out of town toward the big field behind town. I'm ahead of the others and reach part of the field first. There's three large moths gently hovering about; one is a female, looks like a large seed, I can just see waves of pheromone-dust she's giving out, the other two are males and floating behind in an arrow pattern. There's also a strange pine-cone/sea urchin thing floating with them ... Now sitting with the old people and L eating lunch on a bench outside near the field. One of the old people used to be in a famous band (?). I've justs finished my sandwiches and I remember my strawberry thing. I'm already really full but it's so nice, I stuff it down.
I'm probably wrong.

I'm at work, playing a video game - some kind of FPS. The level has four large rooms leading of a central area, I'm in that area with a sniper rifle taking out enemies in a large group in one of the larger rooms. My position changes abruptly and I'm in the room with a horde of bad guys, so I get inside a tank and start mowing them down with a machine gun, avoiding slow missiles shot my way which are shown by a blue reticule [there's no sense of watching a screen, I'm actually there]. I'm so sucked in that when I'm finally killed I realise I've got no time to prepare for [censored! Too much info about my job. Hey, it's nothing sinister, just don't want to leave too many personally identifiable trails...]. Then I have to go to a meeting, I don't spend much time sitting down, I'm at the edges of the room tidying things up. Then I suddenly remember something I forgot to do when preparing [ahem]. I rush out of the meeting and luckily it's okay, I manage to get it ready without any problems.

I'm waiting with H for D to arrive, we're going out (?). He turns up, unexpectedly with M too. (Some eating.) We don't leave straight away, but leave the room and got down some steps into a room filled with computers {like a computer room from uni}. I sit down at a computer - strange log-in screen - I'm just going to check my email. I put my USB stick and plug adaptor block on the desk by the keyboard . The guy sitting at the computer opposite me looks at them and picks them up - I protest, he gives them back and apologises, he thought he left them there. I don't really want to bother going out with D & H.

I'm at the coast, by what used to be a famous beach but is now all muddy, somehow got silted up. I walk past a set of wooden steps that have weathered and eroded an incredible amount. I gain a lot of height very quickly, and now am on a crumbling narrow path with a sheer drop to my left and a tall cliff on my right. The stone and dust is red/orange. I come to a 90 degree corner, the path looks very precarious. I hear some people round the corner and decide to wait for them to come round before trying myself. When they appear I'm astonished that they're walking two abreast on the path! I push myself against the cliff to let them pass, and begin to inch my way round the corner. Behind me I hear one of them being rather scornful of people walking along this path who can't handle the height. After I get round the corner, as if to prove his point, he steps half-way back round the corner, one foot practically off the edge. I ignore him and am soon off the path, into some kind of indentation in the cliff where a large river flows through. There's a metal bar above the path here, presumably to grab onto to help passage when the river is flowing stronger than it is now.

I'm walking across the bridge into town. There are a group of Christians in the middle of the road, doing that crap painting thing which somehow shows that Jesus is the answer, only there's a lot more of them than usual. I have to push my way through the crowd; near the other edge of them, a man with long hair and wet clay on his upraised hands asks me to raise my hands for the lord; I tell him not to be ridiculous and carry on, but he puts his left hand on my head. I've now got lots of clay in my hair - yuk. I berate him ... over the bridge I'm somehow in a maths lesson like from school with my old teacher, only I don't recognise anyone else in the class. I'm late, and also naked [how clichéd...]. I take a seat and look at what's written on the board, amongst other things is 'How do you say water' which I find incredibly funny. I laugh loudly and get in trouble. The current task is a puzzle, we have to arrange long triangles taken from a pornographic image into a whole. I'm out of my seat and laughing on the floor again at '...water' and am getting in more trouble, embarrassed a bit a well because I'm naked and I might have an erection because of the porn .... walking along the river under the bridge to get to my detention, and sit down on a bench by the boat that's going to take me away. Two other guys who were in the lesson (don't remember seeing them there) come up to me, they admit that they're going to try and escape, they're not going to get on the boat.
