      Astral Records

I've been checking out this site for the last couple days because I've had lucid dreams in the past, and I find them very interesting. I figured now was a good time to post because I just had one last night, and I want to continue to have them, mainly because they are awesome.

So last night was a WILD. I tend to get mostly WILD's because I don't sleep like most people. I usually go with about 4 hours or so of sleep for every day and when I finally go to bed at night, it's like normal people going to bed at 3 in the afternoon, I'm never tired and it takes me forever to fall asleep.

So one of the most recent things I read about lucid dreams, was that it's very hard to read in dreams. I found it fascinating because I couldn't recall there ever being text in any of my dreams and so I couldn't verify this proposal.

The lucid dream I had was very strange and you'll get that alot from me. My dreams are Grade-A nutcase dreams.

      Dream time

I was laying in bed waiting to fall asleep when there was an image of a woman, a small child, a doorframe, and a marble door. The woman and child seemed to be reminiscent of the 50's or so. The door frame was not attached to any walls, it was a free-standing door frame in the middle of this marble floor. The floor had light reflecting off of it, as if there was a series of large bay windows (like you'd see an at airport while looking out onto the tarmac, basically a huge wall of glass) somewhere behind the woman and the child that from the current dream angle, couldn't be seen. The reflecting light seemed to indicate that that it was cloudy outside.

Suddenly, the child silhouetted into a very light-tan sepia tone with hints of polka dots and walked away from the woman. The woman seemed distressed by the child walking away, but the woman didn't follow. She only stood there, hands slightly outstretched towards the child, giving off the feeling of some distress.

Note, I was not asleep at this point. One of my methods of falling asleep is to completely let my mind wander, unrestricted. I do recognize that when my mind wanders and I get extremely strange results, such as the above, I know I am close to sleep and I just let it continue. I was excited about the possibility of another lucid dream and I knew I was close, so I tried my best to relax and let the strangeness continue.

As I let my mind wander, the scenery morphed into a strange street luge, appearing to take place in the distant future and at night, and the participants where apparently from Japan. I only got the feeling they were Japanese, no proof to support it. My dream angle was focused behind a luge participant. The luge was not downhill, but on a flat surface. Also, they were some type of hover luge board. There were only two visible participants, the one directly in front of my dream view, and one off to the left. Both participants were neck and neck. There were large rotating tubes that they would fly through and the tubes were staggered left and right throughout the course, similar to slalom style. The tubes were dark in color, nearly black, with the rims being more brightly colored in a striped fashion, probably so the riders could see the edges of the tube more easily and prevent them from crashing into it, since the tubes were dark against the dark nighttime background. Each tube was roughly 15 feet in diameter, 6 inches thick, and around 50 feet long. The tubes varied in length from around 30 feet to maybe 70 feet, again probably to keep riders slaloming at different rates. The riders wore dark blue suits with yellow highlights and helmets.

Eventually I noticed that from my dream angle, there were numbers in the corners of the view, extremely similar to a video-game scoring system. I got excited at the view of the numbers, because it was finally text in a dream and I could test the "unreadable" theory. As I tried to read the text, it was very difficult and blurry, and the numbers kept changing frequently and didn't appear to have a direct relevance to what was happening. The numbers in the lower right corner of the dream view appeared to be about 7 digits long and I couldn't focus on it worth crap, but I could see it was changing and it was at least in the millions. The numbers in the upper right corner of the dream view was always some number less than 100 and I had the feeling that it was supposed to represent the number of tubes the rider has gone through, but it seemed to be changing randomly and it was not in conjunction with the rider passing through a tube. It changed about 2 times per second. I was excited by this because I knew for a fact I was finally dreaming because the numbers weren't making sense and it was also lucid dreaming, because I was well aware I was just laying in my bed and these images were all in my mind.

After the two riders in my dream had gone through a few tubes, the guy in front of my dream view took the lead. He then entered an extremely long tube, one that didn't have a visible end. It was very much like a tube found in Running Man with Arnold Schwarzenegger, near the beginning of the movie when they are being deposited in the gameshow realm. As the rider continued along the tube, it started descending downwards and curving left and right. The diameter of the tube was also constricting. The rider was moving at roughly 60 miles per hour and the tube constricted so much that he had to lay his head back and outstretch his arms behind him to lessen his width or else he wouldn't be small enough to fit through the tube. Right at the very last moment, he shot out of the tube into a strange room and ejected himself off of the luge board and landed on his feet. Upon ejection, his body seemed to rapidly slow in mid-air so that he was going slow enough to land on his feet. I remember thinking to myself "Man, I'm glad that I'm only watching this guy, because if that were me, I'd probably have died coming out of that tube. Also, it's a good thing he's a small Japanese dude too, or else he'd not have that amazing skill to do the impossible like that. Plus, he was small enough to fit through the tube. Way to go Japanese dude, way to go."

All of a sudden I was the guy and I had first person view. The only thing I could see to do with the weird white room was climb to the top of it. It was roughly 60 stories high, and there were platforms that I had to use to get to the top, jumping from platform to platform. I play a 3D game in real life that involves climbing to the top of these maps by jumping from platform to platform. I think this part stems from that, although I haven't played it in a while. I started to climb and jump from platform to platform, but all of a sudden I was enormous (or the room was tiny, can't tell), roughly being about 30 stories tall. I hopped from platform to platform now, but it felt as if I was dangling from some sort of suspended wires and when I'd land on a platform, I'd just push off of it again, sliding the direction I just shoved off from.

One of the times, I shoved off and missed my desired platform and hit the wall. I stuck to the wall with my feet. My feet were now large, purple furry dog paws. They could keep me sticking to the wall. It was extremely difficult to climb to the top with just those two paws, so I said "Hey, I should just make my hands some large purple paws too!" and I did. I was now a quadruped climbing a 90 degree wall, trying to get to the final top platform where a finishing button existed. I finally, with a last ounce of energy, made it to the top, pressed a button to finish, and went back down. I was still suspended from these wires, and I made a controlled descent, exactly the same way as cliff climbers repel down cliff faces. The button stopped some timer that had apparently started. This stems from the previously mentioned climbing game that I play. There is a finishing button to press to stop your timer. It also could be derived from the television show "Ninja Warrior" where contestants must finish a course by hitting a button within an allotted time (specifically from the final course, where they are blindly trying to hit the button at the end), but I think it probably comes from the game I play. I remember, while climbing, that I felt that someone had showed me that I need to get to the top to win, so that's why I was trying so hard to get to the top, it wasn't just some random feeling I had that I had to win. I remember thinking "Someone showed me how to get to the top and why I had to get there in my dream, but I've actually forgotten that part of the dream already, and I haven't even woken up."

      End Dream

I woke up, thoroughly enjoying my dream, looked at the clock, and 15 minutes had passed since the last time I had viewed the clock. I'm able to cram alot into my dreams, it appears.

Unfortunately, I don't recall any other dreams from that night.

Well, I had a dream last night, non-lucid, but it was rather explicit. I personally don't mind writing about it, but not sure what the limits are for the public forums. I will probably be told to stick it in the private forums. I haven't read the rules yet, I was just anxious to get going on recording my dreams.

I did have at least 3 more dreams last night, but I can't seem to recall them well. This post will be edited because the memories are not far off. Usually once I remember part of the dream, the entirety of it comes flowing back rapidly.

On a good note, I'm about to hit the hay, and I feel in tune for a good WILD. Cross your fingers!
