A_Friend's Narrative Dreams...

Alright, so yes, I'm knew. And yes, I have not had a lucid. However, I believe that starting this dream journal will help my dream recall, and in turn, my lucid dreaming prowas.

And I think that DV will enjoy my even my non-lucids, as I often do.

For the record, in case I do have a lucid,

Ok, so as of late I've been having a reoccurring dream of sorts. While the subject matter is not the same; the format and the execution remain similar in nature. Alright, so I'll tap from my personal dream journal the first of these narrative experiences...

Date of Dream=12/03/08

For some odd reason, this dream was incredibly vivid, and I could rememeber it long after the night I had it.The first thing I remember is a car crash. I can't rememeber if I was in it, or why I saw it, but I think that becomes apparent later. The next thing I know, I'm on some campus, with people running around with binders and notebooks. I'm apparently in mid-conversation with my real-life best friend, Josh. Josh is saying something clever and witty that I either can't rememeber, or didn't make sense. I respond with, "At least I can do it with my eyes closed". Not sure what signifigance that has.

Josh then suggests that we should get to class. Suddenly, we are in a classroom, except theres no one else there, but Josh seems to be listening intently to something. I tried to listen but couldn't hear anything. This confuses me, however, before I have a chance to ask, we are at some sort of bar. There is a girl with us, specifically with me. Her name is Maddie, and she is my real-life girlfriend. We are all laughing and having a good time, then Josh suggests we go for a walk around campus. We open the door of the bar and walk on to a grassy field with an open sky and the stars and moon far more luminescent than usual. The bar has apparently dissapeared.

Josh, Maddie and I all lay down on the grass and stare at the stars. Josh says something like, "Are we supposed to be here?" I seemingly know the answer and say, "Only if we'll be ok." Josh looks at me and says, "I'm ok now." For some odd reason, this has stuck with me since the night I had this dream. I have yet to understand why. I close my eyes to fall asleep (in a dream, this was very trippy) and open them to find that I am now in a food court of sorts. There is a DC who I do not recognize, and I can't rememeber his face now. Josh is also there, ordering some meal, and I am standing next to him, and I have no food. The unknown DC walks over to Josh and says something to the effect of, "Nice game yesterday you prick". (Josh is on the football team in my HS, so this is probably what that means. Why someone would get this worked up over it I haven't the faintest idea). He then proceeds to knock Josh over and suddenly the dining hall is empty.

I rememeber feeling this incredibly furious sense of rage in the deepest part of my body, unlike anything I've felt before, and unlike anything I've felt after. I don't rememeber how, but I rememeber having this DC up against a wall, slamming his head with my fists. The gore is completely amplified in the dream, and he looks terribly injured. I stand up and say something like "How about that for a game?" ) which I remember thinking was a totally cool thing to say. I then help Josh up and we exit the dining hall. The scene transitions in this dream are unlike any I've had before; they're totally seamless like doors or blinks etc.) when the door opens I am now on the bank of some river, it is at night, and Maddie is waiting on the edge of the land, her legs dangling over the water. I sit down beside her. She looks at me with these eyes, eyes that I've never seen in a dream before, they seem blue, but also with an intangible depth to them, like they were reading my through to my head. She says, "How are you doing?" I don't say anything, as if she's bringing up a sore subject. She then says "I know it was hard. The accident. Your not alone anymore." (Most likely a reference to the car crash in the start of the dream? That's my guess, though I have no idea what importance that has) I look at her and nod. She smiles shyly and then sinks into my arms. (This is probably the hopeless romantic part of my head surfacing) "Never let me go." she says. I don't say anything and just nod again. "Dive in." she says. Apparently I understand this and fall into the water with her still held to my chest.

When I surface, I am suddenly climbing some stairs, and remember this being some place of familiarity, maybe a dorm room. I arrive at a room, most likely my dorm, with a bouquet of flowers and a box in my pocket. It's a small box, and it's wierd, at the time I don't remember what it is, but I obviously have some purpose for it. I open the door, and explicitly rememeber dropping the flowers. I don't know why this is so incredibly vivid in my mind, but I remember each flower hitting the floor, like their own seperate entity. Inside the room is Josh and Maddie together. That same feeling of rage returns and I yell something completely incoherent to me, but it might've been something understandable in the dream. I storm out of the room, and down the stairs.

Why they were hooking up in my dorm is completely beyond me? I remember now being alone in a room, not the same one so I have no idea where it is. I am noticeably angry and yet, I remember feeling this unprecendented feeling of lonliness. Like all I had loved in the world was lost. I open a door in this room, and continue down a hallway, very dimly lit. I turn a corner and am surprised to see that unknown DC I assaulted standing there. I assume he's holding a gun but never see it clearly. He fires three times, and I fall back against the wall, blood splattered against it American History X style and sink to the ground. The DC looks at me and says "Your game? Game over." He then fades into the dimly lit hallway. I dont know what this reoccuring "game theme" is, but I'll think on it some more. I recall lying against that wall for quite a long time in Dream Time. Eventually I hear footsteps in the hall, running down towards me. It is Josh, noticeably distressed (Somehow he knew about the shooting before the authorities or anyone else?) He ran up to me and slid to his knees (Again, American History X style) He cries out in distress, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It meant nothing." I nod, and he suddenly reaches to my pocket, as if I told him to without speaking. He pulls out the little box, and you guessed it, it's a ring. He looks at me with tears in his eyes and says, "Your going to be ok, your going to be ok." I look back up at him, and with all my strength mutter, "I'm ok now."

I then wake up.

Again, my girlfriend Maddie is the main focus of this dream. I remember bits and pieces of her shouting and screaming (Almost like someone has taken a roll of film and chopped it up into pieces and thrust them into a projector) and then the dream fades slightly.

Next, I see Maddie standing behind a podium, dressed in all black. She says "On thou's quest to purity, impurity while be thy means". (Creepy, yet oddly philosophical) I do not remember being present at the time.

The next part freaked me the hell out. I remember being at her funeral, the song "Trapeze Swinger" by Iron and Wine is somehow mixed in here, and I am gazing over Maddie's coffin. Suddenly and without warning, her eyes flicker open and again the cut-film like effect takes over. (http://persephone.thehansofoundation.org/ for an adaquete interpertation of this effect, warning, may be unsettling) All I hear while this is transpiring is her saying "Lucipher is killing me!" (If this were transpiring in real-life, this is the part where I would pass-out.
I then stare into her eyes, which suddenly cut from flickering into that deep, intangible, blue; like she is reading my thoughts. I say to her, "I think it's time to go to sleep (House S4 finale anyone? I then climb into her coffin and close the lid. As soon as the wood blocks out the light, I wake up.
