      WILD Inside My Dream

I am currently on holiday staying in a cottage on an orchard at a seaside town. Had a nonlucid dream then woke at 5am. Went to the loo, had a glass of water then attempted WILD. Started on my back then after 10 minutes turned onto my side and continued WILD.

Entered a nonlucid dream. I'm on my way to a dance competition when suddenly I realise it's quite late and I forgot to do the heats. I check the time, it's 1.30pm. I realise I've probably missed the heats. I then get an image of a dancer I know, T, competing.

New dream: I'm in a room. There are a few chairs around and I'm sitting down. My friend A is there and a few ladies. One lady sits on a seat on top of my jacket so I reach over and take my jacket away. Suddenly I am in bed in the bedroom of the cottage I'm staying in and everyone has gone and I'm trying to WILD within the dream. Suddenly I'm sitting up and my bed has turned into a bench. I notice I have needles stuck in my arm. I pull one out and it feels a bit uncomfortable. Then I see a beautiful Asian girl walk past. Suddenly I realise I'm dreaming. I do a nose pinch expecting to be able to breathe and I can. Then I gently launch the needle out of my hand like a dart and in my mind I control it and make it float in a big circle. Then everything fades to black.

I put my arms out and spin and visualise a beach scene but instead I end up back in the cottage standing by my bed with my sleep mask on. I'm aware that I'm still dreaming. I'm nervous to take off my sleep mask because I am worried the light will wake me up but I go ahead anyway and lift the mask. I see the room and know I'm dreaming but it starts to fade to black and I wake up. I then attempt DEILD. It works.

I enter a new, very brief dream. I'm sitting at a table about to eat something but my cutlery is dirty. I say out loud, "this is my dream and I want brand new, sterile cutlery please". Immediately the cutlery in my hands changes to brand new shiny sterile cutlery. I wake up and can't be bothered trying to go to sleep against as my brain is obviously all "dreamed out"!

      Nothing :(

No lucid dream last night. My sleep got disturbed and I didn't get enough REM time plus my room was hot and stuffy so I was too groggy to become alert within a dream

Wink I picked a fight with a DC!

After a 12 night dry spell I finally had another LD!

I went to sleep at 9.30pm. I suspect I was a little REM deprived from the previous night having only had 6 hours sleep. I woke up after about an hour. I woke up again at 2.30am and recalled a nonlucid dream fairly well. I went back to sleep and the next thing I knew I was in a LD

I don’t remember becoming lucid. The dream had been going for quite a while so by the time I woke up I had forgotten the first part of the dream. The first thing I remember is being in the lounge of a small house with my husband, C and two random DCs – a guy and a girl. I was lucid. I had a piece of paper in my hand with some words written on it and I decided to see if the text would change. I looked away and looked back and sure enough the letters had changed! I did it again and they changed again. For some reason I found this little activity quite entertaining and kept doing it for quite a while. Sometimes the letters and numbers would change before my very eyes. I was really quite fascinated by it.

I then decided to play a little mind game with the male DC so I started telling him how this was just a dream and I could prove it. I showed him the letters and carefully read them out then moved the piece of paper away and back again but he wasn’t paying full attention and I was having a hard job convincing him the letters had changed. So I showed him a couple more times because I really wanted to see his reaction. He kept trying to claim I was wrong and that the letters weren’t changing but finally he couldn’t deny it any more and conceded that they were. I then asked him very deliberately “why do you think they’re changing?” so that he was forced to answer me. Somewhat reluctantly he admitted, “because it’s a dream”. I then asked, “So whose dream is it? Yours or mine?” He appeared quite stumped by my question. I was finding the whole conversation so comical! He finally replied with “I don’t know”. I then asked, “well, are you conscious?” knowing full well that he was a DC and therefore not a separate conscious entity to myself. He just sat there looking blank. So I told him it was my dream. Hilarious!

I then decided I’d had enough fun toying with this poor DC who was only trying to protect the whole “dream façade” So I walked over to my husband C who was sitting on another couch. I suddenly felt quite warm and so I removed my pink cardigan (which seems to be a common garment for me to be wearing in a dream). Then I suddenly realized that I should be making the most of this lucid time and I should try to see my late brother D. So I told C that I was going outside to try and summon D.

I walked out the front door and down the steps onto the street. I could see a small garden behind the house next door so I walked over to it to get well away from the DCs in the house. I then tried to will D to appear but he didn’t. I shut my eyes to try again but realized shutting my eyes was a bad idea as it would be likely to wake me up. I called out to D. He still didn’t appear. In the middle of the garden was an overgrown concrete well. Every time I looked away and looked back the well appeared different. I then realized I wasn’t going to be able to summon D and so I should move on to something else. At this point I suddenly felt cold and I didn't have my cardigan with me. I was about to make one appear so I could put it on but then I thought "hang on, this is a dream so I don't have to feel cold" and I stopped feeling cold.

I decided to take a short flight. I then decided that it would be more satisfying if someone was about to attack me and I escaped from them by flying. I turned around and saw a cobblestone street. It was kind of an alley with slate grey buildings on both sides. There were quite a few people around. I started walking along the street specifically looking for someone who appeared as though they’d respond accordingly if I picked a fight with them. I saw a guy who looked like a bit of a crim and willed him to come over and harass me. He just walked past. Then I saw a girl walking along in the same direction as me with attitude written all over her face so I started walking alongside her annoyingly close, almost bumping her. Sure enough she started getting pissed off and went to give me a shove so I levitated up into the air away from her as planned. It felt great! Then I woke up.
      It was 4.21am.

Total lucid time = 10 minutes

This dream was interesting for me because I’ve read about how text is unstable in dreams on this forum but have never actually seen it myself. In the only dream I remember looking at text it was perfectly legible and stable and it was a complicated word! It was the real name of a medication “diclofenac” written on a medicine bottle.

      Some Older Lucids

Here are 3 LDs I had just after I found DV and started trying to have LDs intentionally...

      Stab with Syringe
      Monday 31st March 2008
I’m at the top of a staircase and suspect I'm dreaming. There are people down below. I do a RC by putting my arm through the wooden banister. I drift downstairs where there is a girl being really nasty to people. My plan is to be rude to her then fly away. I tell her loudly that she is a stupid bitch then start to fly away but as I do so I see her friend start to fly after me. I stop knowing there’s no point fleeing and her friend stops beside me and is trying to stab me with a syringe. I try to change my environment by spinning but it wakes me up.

      Pregnant Woman
      Tuesday 1st April 2008
I’m standing in mum and dad’s old bedroom at Royal View Rd with about five women from ceroc. I become lucid. I then announce to everyone that I’m dreaming. They all just stand there looking blank so to prove it I grab one of the women who is five months pregnant (I know this from RL) and try to put my arm through her stomach. It takes a couple of attempts but I succeed. I decide that I shouldn’t interact too much with the DCs in case I lose lucidity. (I was still fairly new to lucidity at this time in my life. Now I have no problem retaining lucidity.)

Then I go through to my old bedroom and shut the door. I try to walk through the bedroom wall a couple of times to get to a private garden to meet up with David. I am unsuccessful. I do the nose pinch test and count the fingers on my right hand just to reconfirm to myself that it’s definitely a dream. Both checks fail as I expect. I keep trying to walk through the wall but just can’t. Finally I run at the wall and throw myself at it shutting my eyes at the last second.
      Big mistake. I wake up.

      Wonderful Hypnagogic Imagery
      Saturday 5th April 2008
I went to bed at 10:30pm and slept from 11pm-7am. Got up and had breakfast. I was feeling tired due to having a chest infection and was home alone so I went BTB and tried WILD.

Suddenly I started feeling incredibly strong vibrations through my body. It felt like an earthquake and as though my whole bed was shaking. I also had an auditory hallucination of someone walking up the stairs and into my bedroom. It really felt like someone was in the room by my bed. I could hear the floor creaking. I reassured myself that it was statistically far more like to be HH than someone having actually broken into the house but it was still pretty disconcerting. I then started seeing hypnagogic imagery. I saw bright red balloons in the sky. I drifted into this image and was now flying high in the clouds with seagulls around me. It was very peaceful. Then suddenly I was in Woolworths grocery store. I saw David on the other side of the store. Woke up.

      False Awakening

      Thursday 29th January 2009

I tested my new personal technique the day before to see if it would work. It seems to be fairly promising.
I also drank a new kind of Apple Juice with dinner.

I woke up at 2.30am then again at 4am. I had excellent dream recall both times and they had been long, vivid and clear. I stayed awake for 1.5 hours, then I went BTB and attempted WILD. I lay on my back with my sleep mask on. I used the counting method ("number" on the in breath, “sleep” on the out breath). I breathed slightly quicker than I would normally. I also set a goal to get to 100. I got as far as 24 then had a Hypnagogic Image of a guy from work and a light going out. I started again from 1 and very quickly I started hearing my husband walking through the house talking to me. He came into the bedroom and said something about sex. I knew I was in HH. He was talking and he walked around to the other side of the bed and I felt him get into the bed. I wasn’t sure whether it was safe to move so I waited a bit. He kissed me on the neck then started tapping his hand on the bed. I was amazed at how real everything felt. I decided to risk moving so I turned my head slightly but that woke me up.

It was strange because there was only the slightest change in my level of consciousness when I woke up. It was so slight that I was unsure whether I had actually woken up.

Do you think astral projection and conciously staying awake while the body goes to sleep might be the same thing? I've practiced both ways, and they both feel the same. It appears you have some experience with this.

Yes I do believe they are the same thing. I do not believe anything leaves your body while you are asleep except the air you exhale and the moisture you perspire. I believe "astral projections" and "OBEs" are simply vivid and/or lucid dreams.

      Thanks for your interest!

      Thumbs up Exciting New Techniques

I have discovered TWO new techniques which I have never seen mentioned on this website, both of which are extremely simple to do. The effect of the first technique is very long vivid dreams. The effect of the second trick is to make it easy to recall an entire dream with virtually no effort.

I'm going to post both these techniques on the forum sometime in the next couple of weeks.

I'm very excited as both techniques are proving very effective and reliable.

      Yay for both techniques!

Eureka!!! I finally got lucid again through DILD!!! Unfortunately I woke up immediately because it was right at the end of a dream but I don't care! Over the past couple of weeks in nonlucid dreams I've watched a passenger jet land in an inner city carpark, I've dodged antique tables falling from the sky, I've seen myself in a mirror with half of my hair bleached white, I've even met my 10 year old twin half sisters who don't exist in real life FFS and none of these events got me lucid. Now suddenly after a slight alteration to my WBTB routine the simplest, stupidest little anomaly occurs and bam! I'm lucid.

From now on I am going to thoroughly record everything I did the night before a LD:

Here's what I did: I stayed up super late. I went to an extremely emotional movie with Chris and two female friends. We then went out and talked until 12.15am during which I had a hot chocolate. I went to bed at 2am. I woke up at 6.30am, posted on DV then spent 10-15 minutes doing logic puzzles. Went BTB and WILDed. Went into a nonlucid dream. Then...

I'm standing in theatre and Arlene walks in. Upon seeing her I access waking memory and I remember I have a present for her which is a theatre hat with cartoon-style dogs on it. I remember that I'd taken all my hats home to wash over the weekend and I'd put her new hat in the bag with my own hats. But there I am standing in theatre wearing one of my hats. So, I thought to myself "Hmm.. I don't remember bringing my hats back to work. I've left them at home. So what hat am I wearing right now if all my hats are at home? Shouldn't I have noticed I'd left them at home when I was in the changing room putting my theatre scrubs on? I should do a RC." I pinch my nose and can breathe but while I'm doing this I wake up.

I reckon it was the logic puzzles and/or the fact that for the first time in ages I was sleeping when I'm usually wide awake. My lucid time was 8.30am and I'm usually awake and up by 7am.

I feel like a kid on Christmas morning. There's no way this is coincidence. I had completely rational thinking for a change. What a contrast. From standing watching tables fall from the sky a few nights ago thinking "gosh this is dangerous I'd better take cover" to standing in a completely normal environment and having completely rational thoughts with complete access to my waking memory! Yay! About time!

So, my next tack is I'm going to plan each week of sleep using the CAT method. On some nights I'll focus purely on dream recall and just sleep through. On other nights I'll do similar to last night.

I've studied some literature (downloaded pretty big pack of books on the subject ) and it seems that "astral projection", "oobe" and "lucid dreams" are three terms for one phenomenon. The difference between them is interpretation.

      Astral projection is occult interpretation.
OOBE is parapsychological term and was introduced by Monroe to make this subject more scientific.
When LaBerge proved lucid dreams, "lucid dream" become official term.

Though sometimes people also use "oobe" to label a specific subtype of lucid dreams. As for astral projection - it is interchangeable with lucid dream no doubt (the only question is which interpretation you like).

Smile Beautiful Children: A meeting with my subconscious

      Monday 2nd February 2009

Wow! I got lucid three times in one night!

The night before I had a light, healthy stir-fry for dinner with heaps of the special type of Apple Juice that has given me success previously. I took a moment before bed to study my husband’s face closely, really looking at him and intensifying my conscious awareness level. I went to bed at around 10pm. Woke up at 3.45am. Got up, went to loo and did 10 minutes of logic puzzles. Went BTB and WILDed into a nonlucid dream.

I’ve just arrived at Warehouse Stationery to buy an ink cartridge for my printer (something I’d done in RL two days ago). I go in and ask a male shop assistant to direct me to where they are in the store. He tells me and I start walking through the store. Then I look at my watch. It is a gold analogue watch. It is not my RL watch but I don't notice this. It reads half past ten in the morning which is later than I had thought it was. I realize I’m due to start work at 12 and I’m going to have to go home first to get tidied up and put on some makeup. I wonder why I didn’t just come to the shop ready for work so I could carry straight on. I start walking towards the exit. I have apparently borrowed the store’s telephone to make a phone call because I’m carrying a portable handset in my hand. I walk past the counter and into the foyer/office on the way to the exit and I replace the handset on the base. It is a metallic aqua-blue colour. I think about how anyone with the same phone type could easily steal the handset.

I then walk outside and over to my car where lo and behold I see that I have parked it in such a manner that the driver’s door is inaccessible. It is parked with the drivers side only few inches away from a large rubbish skip. I think “Wtf? How can my car be parked like this? How did I get out? I would have had to climb over the passenger seat. Why would I park like that? And why don’t I remember climbing over the passenger seat and getting out of the passenger door?” As I’m thinking all this I’m walking round to the passenger side and there’s a trolley parked up against the door. I do a reality check but I’m fully expecting it to pass because everything is so real. I pinch my nose and I can breathe! I’m completely amazed by this but refuse to be fooled like the last two times I’ve been able to breathe. (I have spent a lot of time priming myself in real life to accept that if I can breathe when I pinch my nose then I’m definitely dreaming no matter how real it seems.)

So I am now lucid. Yippee! I see a male shop assistant standing outside the store on the sidewalk. I walk over to him. I can’t believe how real everything is. I ask him “Excuse me but did you happen to see my brother in the store?” willing him to answer yes so I can go talk to my brother. He says “no”. I turn away from him and look down the road considering what to do next. I then remember one of my lucid goals which is to test out some specific reality checks for future use. I try the first which is to click my fingers - I can do it but it sounds dull and my skin feels funny. It's sort of rubbery. I then stand on my left leg and rotate my right foot in circles – it feels normal and my balance is fine. I start walking down the road and as I do I rub my tongue on the roof of my mouth – it feels normal. I decide I might be able to use clicking my fingers as a back-up reality check in case I ever doubt the nose pinch test again.

I then think about what to do next. I remember another lucid goal which is simply to examine something closely. I look around me. The road is slightly overgrown with foliage growing through cracks in the tarseal. I see a flower in the middle of the road and I walk over to it. I can hear a car coming from further down the road but I know I’m okay because I’m dreaming. I bend down and pick the flower but before I can look at it properly the car has approached. It is a red car with a family in it. The father is driving and he has slowed right down. I call out “just drive through me!” He slowly drives towards me but I somehow worry that the impact of the car knocking into me might wake me up so I step aside. They drive past but suddenly I feel this urge to go and meet them because they are a product of my imagination. I turn and call out “wait!” The car stops. It is now a convertible. I run over to it and ask “what are your names?” There are four people – the male driver, his female companion, a young girl of about nine and a young woman. The young girl replies “Stacey”. Then the young woman tells me that they really must go as they are attending a family emergency. They drive off.

I keep walking along the road which is more of a country lane now. I see some children walking in the opposite direction as me. I go over to three young girls who look about seven years old. I stop and talk to the one in the middle who is blonde and sweet in appearance. I say “wow this is so cool! You are all part of…” and before I can finish my sentence she finishes it for me “your dream”. “Yeah” I reply and I stroke her hair back from her forehead lovingly. I am marveling at the fact that she is actually part of me. I consider how some of the people on the dream forum believe that DCs are separate conscious entities and I can see why they are fooled. I then say to her “I’d better keep moving because I don’t want to… you know” and she confirms what I’m hinting at by saying “wake up”. I jokingly say “shhh” as if saying it out loud might make it happen.

Then I turn and keep walking and all these beautiful young children are walking past me. I see a very young girl carrying a small torch. I ask her if I can have it. I want to see what happens if I switch it on. Big mistake! As soon as I switch it on a bright light floods everywhere waking me up.

It was 6.30am. Total lucid time = 3 minutes. I could easily have done DEILD but if it didn’t work and I ended up in a nonlucid dream I may have lost recall of my lucid.

It’s funny because when I first started lucid dreaming I would avoid DCs like the plague because I found them to be a distraction. Now however I love interacting with them.

Went BTB at 8am. WILDed but just slept unconsciously for 20 minutes. Woke up at 8.30am. WILDed again. Went into a nonlucid dream where I was back at the Warehouse Stationery shop thinking how interesting it was that this is where I’d been in my LD. Unfortunately the dream ended and I entered a new dream. I was play wrestling in bed with my husband when I glanced up onto the wall and saw a large tea-coloured stain. I knew we didn’t have a big stain on the wall like that and it seemed to be spreading before my eyes so I did the nose pinch test. I could breathe. I told my husband to jump off me, stood up and tried to will my brother to be behind me. I turned around but he wasn’t there. I called his name a few times then I had a brief awakening.

I entered a new dream. I was at home and mum had obviously visited the house while I’d been out because she’d left some things there including a cabinet by the front door and some cutlery in a drawer. I walked outside and saw an insect caught in a spider’s web. Then I saw a large black spider come out and start trying to eat it but the insect grew into a miniature brown horse about six inches tall. I thought this was pretty weird so did the nose pinch test. I could breathe but then I woke up.

I could have done DEILD again so easily. I had to fight to stay awake. However I wanted to get up and on with my day! It was 9.30am.

Thanks Phantasos! Yeah, I hadn't had a proper LD for seventeen nights then suddenly I get three in one night. Mind you I woke up immediately for two of them, however it's still good to be doing so many RCs and not accepting impossibilities for a change

      Angry Evil Organization

      Tuesday 3rd February 2009

The content of this dream was rather disturbing. I am very relieved I had lucidity otherwise it could have been one of my worst ever nightmares.

The dream started after a botched WBTB. I briefly awoke at 3am and was drifting back to sleep when suddenly I thought I should get up and do a WBTB. So I got up, went to the loo and did a logic puzzle for about 10 minutes. I then spent the next THREE AND A HALF HOURS trying to get back to sleep. I’d long given up on having a LD. I just wanted to get to sleep.

Finally I found myself in a nonlucid dream. I’m in a room sitting on the edge of a bed, only it’s not a bedroom it’s a room in a large building. There is a guy sitting next to me. Then I notice a girl lying on the bed next to him. She is unconscious due to being drugged and I am quite taken aback to see that she has no underwear on. I immediately recognize that I’m dreaming but for some reason I choose to stay in the story. (I think I was just too tempted by my desire to use some superpowers on this guy, who was now sexually assaulting the girl, and give him some sort of retribution.) So I don’t detach from what is happening. Instead I divert his attention towards me by asking him “Oh, is this going to happen to me too is it?” He answers “yes”. I’m not at all scared by this. In fact, quite the opposite. I'm fully fired up for a fight knowing it’s a dream and I have unlimited power. I think to myself "Oh no it's not"!

The door is on the other side of the bed so I calmly start walking around the bed towards it. In the meantime the guy does exactly as I expect and climbs over the bed and stands by the door. I just keep walking towards the door with a completely nonchalant expression on my face. I’m fully expecting him to block the door and I’m actually disappointed when he doesn’t. So I walk out the door and find myself in a corridor. I walk along the corridor looking for the way out. The guy is following me. The corridor twists and turns and every time I come to a door I expect the guy to try and stop me from going through it, but he doesn’t.

Finally I enter a small room and I know that the next door is the exit from the building. I can’t believe that the guy seems to be letting me get away and I’m a little annoyed. Then I see why. There are two guys ‘guarding’ the exit door. I’m still not the slightest bit scared though. The first guard guy leaves the room along with the original guy leaving me with just the second guard guy. He goes and sits behind a desk and we start having this conversation which I can’t remember properly but which involves me telling him what I think of his little crime organization.

I then spy a Fire Escape door on the other side of the room. I quickly assess how to unlock it then I walk over to it. I have to unlock it in two places which I calmly do. I’m amazed by how vivid and clear the dream is as I slide the large red bolt across. I’m aware that the guy has got up from behind the desk to chase after me. I walk out onto a tiny fire-exit-type landing. It is dark outside. I am only one floor above ground level so I shimmy down the ladder and start calmly walking across the dark, deserted parking lot. The guy reaches the ground soon after me and starts running towards me and that’s when I let rip. I turn around and fire blue lightening bolts at him out of my hands. I fire just enough to stun him. He falls down and I wait for him to get up again then as he starts chasing me again I fire the electricity again and annihilate him.

Then two women come out of the building but I somehow know they work for the organization. So I walk across the road then I turn back as they’re about to approach me and I make a big circle motion around my body with my hand at the same time invoking a force field around me. I say out loud “this force field will last for the rest of the dream”. It doesn’t work at all however because the women come right up to me and are about to attack me. I grab hold of each of their arms and tell myself I have super strength. I push them both down onto the pavement. Then I wake up.

Hey DreamQueen, its been a while!

Nice dream above. You really gave it to that guy with the electricity. I've never had electrokinetic powers, I've also never generated a force field; I'm definitely going to have to try those. But I had my first successful WILD this morning and got four LDs out of five dreams as a result. I hadn't successfully WILDed in a LONG time so this was a major breakthrough for me. I also started my DJ for 2009 today because of the WILD.

      Thanks hun!

Yeah it was a pretty cool dream. I can't believe how relaxed I was. I totally had this attitude of "bring it on" yet I didn't even have a plan in my head And I've never even shot electricity out of my hands before. I just did it, like, no questions asked. But the force field didn't work haha! Could've got myself into trouble there!

Notice I'm still taking your advice of looking closely at things as a lucid goal It's fab!

Nope, they're my new empty journals. And no I'm not in a dryspell recalling dreams. Quite the opposite! I recall them every day without fail. I just don't record my nonlucids on here. I find it easier writing my nonlucids in my journal so I only post lucid dreams on here, unless I have a particularly interesting nonlucid.

I'm writing about 3-4 pages a day in my current dream journal. Since I started wearing a sleep mask to bed my recall has gone through the roof! I love it! It's so interesting spying on what my subconsciousness has been up to while I'm asleep!

      Cool Retro Party

      Wednesday 11th February 2009

I think this may well be my best LD yet! It was absolutely awesome and so long!

My dreams earlier in the night:

I’m on a large ship that is sinking. I’m not afraid however because I’m there as some sort of observer and am personally detached from the horror of it. I am walking around with the ship’s chef. Suddenly he goes into a room and he is up to his neck in water. I’m thinking this is bad. I ask him “shouldn’t we be able to hear the water leaking into the ship?” We listen and indeed can hear it. The sound is clear and realistic.

I’m on the bottom level of a department store looking for a public toilet (missed dream sign ). I find some loos but there is a long queue of girls outside the door. I grab two of the girls and tell them to come with me because I know there are some loos on a higher level. We go and get in an elevator. The buttons look weird. There is only an ‘up’ and a ‘down’ (missed dream sign ). I’m having trouble getting the elevator to work. We go up a little way and a guy gets in. He works in the store. I tell him we’ve been in the lift for ages and have hardly got anywhere.

      WBTB & WILD attempt

The first thing I’m aware of is I’m standing in my bathroom rifling through my toiletry travel case. I find two green bottles of the Simple make-up remover I use in RL. Each is nearly empty. I realize that this isn’t right because I remember pouring the remaining contents of one into the other recently in RL to make one full bottle. I do the NP RC and can breathe. I’m amazed because I really had no idea I was dreaming. It felt completely real. I immediately turn and walk out of the bathroom and into the computer area at the top of the stairs of my RL house. I feel like I’m about to wake up.

I then have a FA. I’m lying in bed and my husband C is spoon cuddling me. It feels so real but I knew we had gone to sleep in separate beds that night so I could do my lucid activities and he wouldn’t come and disturb me so I am not fooled. I can hear a woman on the other side of him talking loudly. I tell her to shut up. Then C gets up to go to the toilet and doesn’t come back. I then black out and end up in a new nonlucid dream.

I’m standing where my computer should be just outside my bedroom but in its place is a large black stereo. I can hear the song “Who Painted The Moon Black” playing which I love. I’m fiddling with the stereo when I notice two human hands sticking out from inside it. I’m quite taken aback by this. I find it quite disturbing that the manufacturers have left body parts in it. I do the NP RC and can breathe. Again I’m very taken aback that I’m dreaming. It’s a wonderful feeling!

I walk through to my bedroom where I remember to carry out a lucid goal which is to feel for my carotid pulse. I have been doing this regularly in RL to see how it feels in order to determine if it would be a good RC. I know that in RL I can always find my pulse. I put my fingers on my neck and sure enough I feel my pulse. It feels 100% normal. So I decide that it is not going to be an effective RC. I then click my fingers a couple of times and that too feels 100% normal. So that too is a useless RC.

Suddenly I am lying on my bed and my lucidity level has dropped. I’m still aware that I’m dreaming but I have no control over my actions. There is a really hot looking blonde girl on the bed with me. She is wearing only pants and a singlet. For the next couple of minutes I get it on with her! This is so bizarre because I am 100% straight in RL and have never even considered getting it on with a chick. She does sexual things to me and kisses me. The kiss is pretty slobbery but it all feels really nice, soft and sensual and suddenly I can understand why guys are so into girls.

Then I’m teleported into a new dream and I have complete control over my own actions once again and am still lucid. It’s night time. I’m in my house and walk through to my lounge which is different to RL. It’s like a bar/nightclub and I’m having a party. The lighting is soft and ambient and the whole place has a distinct retro feel to it, almost as if the dream were set in the late sixties/early seventies. There are decorations everywhere including coloured lights, lava lamps and inflatable palm trees. There are quite a lot of people around. My husband C is sitting on a retro-style couch to my left. There is a coffee table in front of me. Some girls are sitting around on armchairs, others are standing. I know I’m dreaming but I want to confirm it somehow. I don’t know why I didn’t just do a RC at this point. Instead I do something very silly and risky. I turn to C and ask him very earnestly “honey, this is definitely still a dream isn’t it?” He says “yes”.

I then start thinking about how I’m going to remember all this when I wake up. I start trying to work out if there’s any way I can record what I’ve done so far and then carry on with the dream. I consider getting my voice recorder from my nightstand since I’m in my own house. But I’m lucid enough to figure out that I will only be recording it on my dream recorder. I realise there is nothing I can do inside the dream to record what I’ve been doing. I figure I’ll just have to concentrate on remembering.

Then I catch sight of a deck of cards on the coffee table in front of me. They are face down in a messy pile. They have a blue back. I get really excited by the idea of playing with cards in my dream. I quickly pick them up desperately hoping I don’t wake up before I get to play with them. I start dealing them out on the table face up to see if I can predict what each is going to be. Immediately I notice that the face sides look funny and I think “yep, there’s no doubt I’m dreaming!” I start dealing them out trying to predict what they will be but my predictions are wrong.

There is a young girl of about seven years old standing on the other side of the coffee table watching me. I decide to play a card trick on her. (I’m into card tricks in RL including some where the illusion is that I can read someone’s mind and so I figure this will be an enormous amount of fun because I will be able to do it without using any trickery!) So I fan the cards out to her and say “quick choose a card” because I’m worried I might wake up before I get to do the trick. I’m practically forcing a card on her I'm so desperate to do the trick! She takes it and looks at it. I ask “is it the three of diamonds?” She says no and shows me the ten of spades. I feel quite put out by this turn of events. However I keep looking through the cards for a while totally fascinated by how the details are all kooky.

Then I start talking to some DCs. I ask a girl standing nearby what her name is. She says it’s “Circ”. I ask a girl sitting on an armchair for her name too. She gives me a bit of an unfriendly look and replies “Shelley”. I then see a girl standing beside me and say “hi”. She then morphs into someone I know from my dance studio. I welcome her to my dream and give her a loving pat on the back. I’m so happy and excited. I rush over to a corner where three guys are sitting at a table. I greet them and tell them that I hope they’re having a great time in my dream.

Then suddenly I remember another of my lucid goals which is to spray some perfume and sniff it. I’ve been itching to do this in RL. I realize that since this is technically my house there should be some perfume in my bedroom so I head off towards the door. As I cross the room I suddenly spy my bottle of ‘Happy Heart’ perfume sitting on top of a cabinet. I pick it up and take the lid off. Everything is so vivid. The bottle looks just like it does in RL. I spray it onto my left wrist and sniff but I can hardly smell anything, just the faintest hint of flowers.

I carry on walking towards the door where I see a light switch on the wall. I decide to flick the switch and see what the lighting does but then I remember that playing with a torch woke me up from my last LD so I stop myself. I see my mother and a girl nearby and I call out “Don’t anybody touch the lights or you’ll wake me up! Okay everyone?” (I have laughed about this all day today in RL! )

Then I decide to try and summon my brother, D. I walk to the edge of the “lounge” i’m in which opens up into a sort of old-fashioned shopping mall. I see a guy walk out of some public toilets and over to a pin-ball machine. He is wearing a bright blue and yellow blazer. He looks vaguely like my brother and I decide to look away hoping that when I look back he will have morphed into my brother. I look away but when I look back he has vanished and a group of people are playing the machine instead. I look away and back a few times amused at how the people have changed each time.

Then a glamorous middle-aged woman and her 12 year old daughter walk past and see me turning my head back and forth like a weirdo. I say to them “you probably think I’m a bit weird and are wondering what I’m looking at right?” I tell them to come and sit down on a bench and I’ll show them. I lead them to a bench and then get them to look in a particular direction. We can see two garage type rooms. One has two people in it who are both wearing yellow. The other has one person in it. I tell them to look away and we all look away. Then we look back and the scene is exactly the same! (I’ve been foiled again!) I tell them to try it once more. At first the woman doesn’t look away properly so I tell her she has to look away properly and she does. When we all look back the scene still hasn’t changed.

So then I look the woman in the eye and say “look I know you probably think I’m crazy but this is actually my dream. But you probably already know that because you are a dream character in it.” I then say, “I’ll prove it. See that book your daughter is holding? Well your name is the first word in the book”. The daughter opens the book and the first word is ‘Veronica’. I say “told you” then wake up.

Total lucid time = 15 minutes.
A fabulous dream but I must learn not to dash around in a mad panic. I'd rather do fewer activities and appreciate the detail than run round like a headless chicken trying to achieve a million things. But heck it was fun!!!!!

Now, that's what I call a lucid dream! A long and detailed LD, very nice DQ! Im surprised you recalled so much too, I would have to get lucky to recall that kind of info. I would love to have been at that party of yours, that would've been so much fun! And you really interacted with a lot of DCs, thats something I definitely need to do more often. Its funny how differently we act in dreams from reality.

But im sorry that you didnt get to summon your brother; I can only imagine how much you miss him.

That was an awesome LD! It's really encouraging me to improve. I'm still missing a little something. I'm sorry about whatever hapenned to your brother, I hope he didn't die.

I like how whenever you tried to do something to prove you were dreaming it didn't work... It reminds me of my second LD. I was trying to levitate someone by making weird gestures. A girl beside the person I was trying to levitate looked at me as if I was a weirdo. It's funny how DCs think we're just insane people
