Hi everyone. Welcome to my dream journal!

Like yurithebest I guess am I quite a visual person, so I decided it would be great to make my dream journal very visual by including images and photographs. (Thanks for the inspiration!!) Depending on the time I have when updating this, images are most likely to be quick manipulations of stock images and pictures from Google done in Photoshop. Hopefully there will be some more original photographs from myself when I have a little more time up my sleeve.

‘Grandpa’
Lucid # 3 (DILD)

The start of this dream is extremely patchy, dark, hazy… I suddenly turned around from wherever I was standing (I think I had just come out of a building – possibly my school?), and someone was calling out to me from a (very misshapen) car. It was my grandpa, who passed away in February 2007. He was in the front passenger’s seat, I think.
I ran up to him and he started talking very quickly. I originally thought he was speaking Creole to me (my grandparents on my mother’s side speak Creole, a native dialect similar to French – they are from the Seychelles islands) which I don’t fully understand, but his words became quicker and more confused, and I realised it was just gibberish. I would have recognised Creole, even if I didn’t fully understand what he was saying. I was kind of frightened, obviously because he is no longer alive, but I wasn’t afraid that he would hurt me or anything. I was very confused because I couldn’t understand what he was saying to me.
At this point, I somehow established I was dreaming (I guess some sort of natural reality check because I knew he wasn’t alive, therefore it wasn’t reality). I wanted everything to just slow down and relax, so I closed my dream eyes, so everything went black and tried to just change the scene or something that would make everything stop. I think I tried this a bit too early. I was so flustered by the situation that I made no attempt to stabilise the dream or the situation beforehand. When I opened my dream eyes, I woke myself up by opening my real eyes, and my dream ended.

Omega 3/Omega 6 (which also contained Evening Primrose Oil) and Zinc Complex (containing B6). I take this normally in the morning, if I don’t take it at night, so I’m not sure how much effect this really had.

‘There are no Koalas at Ringwood Lake…’
Non-Lucid

I think I had come from school, originally heading towards the train station to go somewhere with X. I couldn’t seem to figure out which direction to head in (although in reality the station in only 2 streets away and very easy to find). I started to walk down some back streets and long paths and came to the lake (which is the other way from the station in reality and you go past the train tracks when walking there). I was looking for X, as I came to the lake.
The lake, in my dream, appeared more like a stream or small river, and there was a kind of bridge going from one side to the other with no rails or anything to stop you falling in (like the real bridge would have). This stream would have only been about 2m or so in width. As I went to cross it, I’m not sure if it disappeared or wasn’t there in the first place and I nearly fell it. I kinda stopped short, fell on my butt on the edge of this ‘bridge’ thing and balanced myself so I didn’t fall in the water. I got slightly wet on my legs and I remember the feeling quite well – believing I had been touched by water. As I was balanced and was about to get back up and jump back onto the dry land I saw a goldfish in the water. The goldfish was looking up at me, like the scene in the film ‘Amelie’ where Amelie’s mother throws her pet goldfish into the river and it looks up at them and then disappears in the water as it begins to rain. I’m not sure whether the goldfish disappeared or not like that, I don’t think it did, but it certainly ‘looked at me’, so to speak, in the same way.
I got back onto the dry land, which I remember to be quite grassy and there were a few trees close to the edge of the river, and then a more open area, and then a path leading away with more trees. I sort of walked around in circles a bit, and I noticed in the trees that there were several koalas. This was pretty unusual because I don’t think koalas live in the suburbs… There were about 4 or 5 of them, each in separate trees. I got out my mobile phone (which has a crappy camera in it) and tried to take photos of them. They moved a few times, much more quickly than a koala would – as if trying to avoid me taking photos of them.
I turned around went down a path leading away from the ‘lake’. This was surrounded my trees (much more similar to the paths around the lake in real life). I was still looking for X and wondering where they were. For some reason I started thinking about backpacks and something we had said about backpacks (which seems kind of random now, but I can recall a conversation about something like that). From here, I can’t remember much more of the dream... I may have woken up and ended the dream.

‘Cake Time’
Non-Lucid

So much of the start of this is confused and very blurry. I am not sure how I got to where I was, but for some reason I thought I may have been in Japan (this may just be a wish? lol). I was in a large room, almost like a board room, inside a large multi story building, possibly a skyscraper. There was a sort of view from a large window near where I was and it seemed quite high. It was unusual that this supposed height didn’t make me feel uncomfortable.
There were lots of people in this board room place with me. Many of them, I noticed, were girls – and mostly girls I knew from primary school and high school. I wasn’t really friends with any of the ones I was able to identify. I spoke to a few. There were lots of large tables in this room. I was now sitting with my back to the large window. There was some food, mostly cakes, on the table in front of us. Like the others around me, I took a slice or two. It was some sort of brown, chocolate-looking cake. I remember someone saying what it was called but it had an unusual (probably completely made up) name that I didn’t quite catch at the time. I’m not sure whether I ate it or not.
I walked around to the other side of the table. Some people here were sorting beads that were on string into a container. I either offered to do it for someone, or just started doing it, and I picked up a string and took the beads off it, one by one, and sorted them according to colour. I remember a lot of black ones and I became lazy and they started to mix with some white ones and other colours.
Recall starts to fade around here….

‘Rainbows and Redheads’
Non-Lucid

I walked into a large concert type hall place. There were hundreds of people there and I was walking along one of the very top rows, which all curved around the ‘stage’ area below. I noticed as I walked across, that each row had a sort of plastic barrier in front of it and I wondered how they were going to see, properly. I also then noticed that each section was coloured coded according to the colour of the person’s clothes. From above the seats seemed to be arranged in a sort of rainbow arrangement (probably not in proper order) going vertically down the rows.
When I walked across to where my seat was, or where I was just going, there were only 2 people down that end of the seats. This was the left hand side, back row. I noticed that like the other 2 people, I was wearing light blue, so I sat down with them, as this seemed to be my place. They said something to me, probably telling me this was the right place to sit.
The performer at this concert was a female, with a broad and curvy body and dark brown (maybe black) straight hair. She reminded me a bit of Kate Cebrano, except much younger. She was singing ‘Fighter’ by Christina Aguilera, but only the chorus, which I keep hearing on TV everyday (stupid Biggest Loser ads). She then called out to the audience and asked that all the people with red hair (like myself) to stand up for some reason. I assumed she was going to pick someone from the audience and include them as part of the show or something like that. I stood up, along with many others. The singer called out in my direction and for a moment I thought she had chosen me. She was actually referring to a woman in the row in front of me, but this woman had black hair. She was very strange looking, her features were almost distorted. She had small eyes and patchy, thin eyebrows. Her eyes were very dark – black, I think. She looked older than she probably was. She wasn’t an old woman, more in her middle age, but she appeared a lot older than this. This woman started talking about something to do with changing her ‘colour’ or ‘pigmentation’ or something and mentioned the word ‘Onyx’ (which is black, yes, also the name of my friend’s black dog). I assumed that this woman was a originally a redhead but had changed something permanently, like taking some sort of drug or something, that had caused everything about her – her eyes, hair – to become dark and black. Something had permanently altered her pigmentation…
My dream faded away and ended around here.

‘Kebabs and Car-jacking’
Non-Lucid

I know this night that I had three separate dreams, but I think that this dream was so long by itself that it has forced me to forget the previous two. They may come back to be at a later stage… or not.

I was near my school – in the general area, I think. Down a side street there were a couple shops and I was with my dad and my brother and we were getting kebabs or some other food at a Turkish place (wouldn’t have even been in our area… but hey, it’s a dream, right?). I think we had ordered and I was standing with them looking at the food through the glass at the counter. The main worker there, a middle aged man, had an electric carving knife in one hand and it was going a lot faster than in real life and seemed kind of dangerous. I commented on this to my dad and brother. This man then walked out from behind the counter (I think the shop was going to close soon) with a few other people, and he had his arm around the shoulders of another man. I then realised that they both were missing one foot each. The man on the left was missing his right foot, and the man on the right was missing his left foot. In place of the missing feet, they each a kind of ‘peg’ like a pirate would have, except it wasn’t the whole calf, just where the foot was – from about the ankle.

Suddenly I turned around, and saw someone who looked exactly like my brother driving away in our car but my brother was still standing right next to me. I shouted out that our car was being stolen and suddenly my dad and brother were chasing after it in my brothers car – leaving me alone, and somewhat lost. They had completely abandoned me, and I knew that they’d have almost no chance in catching up with our family car.
So now I’m alone. I’m wondering where to go. I head in the direction of my school and come to the train tracks which are right next to it. Suddenly it seems I am also helping a little boy who is lost, and he nearly gets caught under the train (kinda does, but isn’t hurt) and I tell him to be careful and to stick with me.
We somehow arrive at a country town (rather than my school – I don’t even live in the country) and I’m wondering how the hell we got here and how the hell we’re gonna get home. The town is basically deserted and it reminds me of Maldon, a small town I stayed in for a couple days last January. We try to find someone who can help us or a phone to contact someone. We go inside some kind of building and we are kind of trapped within a room with two doors and steps that kind of go up (but you have to jump onto the first one, which is too high to get onto) to get out. The building is white. I’m very confused and I’m wondering how we got in there in the first place, but suddenly this place seems familiar from another dream… I open the first door which is on the left side of the room and it is very dark inside. I only look inside and grope around the inside wall for a light switch but I don’t find one. I am expecting something creepy to jump out or music to play, like it is an amusement park ‘Haunted House’ or something, and as if I have been here before (I think I have in a dream before). I look inside the other door which is on the right side of the door and it is also dark and I don’t go in. The kid I am with tries to boost me up so I can get onto that high step area to get out but we can’t reach. I wonder why I didn’t try lifting them up – they were younger and smaller than me.

Somehow we get outside. I have no idea how this happens… maybe we did use one of the doors? Outside there is a group of school kids who appear to be from my school and one of the welfare co-ordinators that I know is with them. Brilliant – this is an opportunity for help! I am about to ask her for help when some of the students throw some water at the group playfully – I think it was hot outside. My hair gets a little wet but the people in front took most of the splash. I tell the welfare person that we need to get home and that this kid… suddenly, I realise I have forgotten their name (not realising I didn’t know it in the first place) and I turn to them and say ‘Hey… you know… um… what’s your name again…?’ and keep mumbling and mixing up my words whilst trying to remember their name. The little kid is also now a girl.
This is where I wake up.

Didn’t have much effect, recall is good without these supplements (and I take them in the morning if I don’t at night, most of the time anyways).

Here to report dream recall has been significantly down in the past week or so (not to mention I've been too busy to properly add to this, atm). I think this is due to the hot weather causing disturbed and groggy feeling sleep.

I have neglected to update this journal for quite some time, let alone find the time to spend on these forums. I have just started year 12 (my final year of high school), so I have been considerably busy.

Dream recall has been patchy, on and off. I am getting less sleep than usual (around 6-7 hours) as well, which probably isn't helping.

The following is a fragment of a dream that I had this week.

I was on a train with some friends from school. They were debating which station was appropriate for a certain change they wanted to make. Someone suggested 'Heatherdale' (which in reality, there would be no line changes at that station), and I thought of 'Richmond', which would be the appropriate place for most major line changes. Further up the line, one of my friends got on the train and I said that I was glad to see him. The train appeared to be very 'open' as if it had no walls. Everything was very dark and black - I think it was night, and we were possibly going through underground stations.
Later on, I was standing at a train station. I noticed I had my top retainer for my teeth in, which I only wear sometimes at night (I used to have braces), and took it out. As I took it out, it appeared much more like false teeth than my clear plastic retainer. I started to clean them with my toothbrush and even poured some Listerine of them, in a effort to make it 'cleaner', or something like that. I was shocked that the backside of the teeth were brown, as if they were decaying. I kept insisting to myself that this wasn't right... they couldn't be decaying.

Another dream involving trains... From a while ago.

I was sitting on what appeared to be a ledge, looking down at a train station with X. It felt fairly high up (and I’m afraid of heights in waking life) but we were admiring the gorgeous view of the city skyline in the distance. It was a dark night, and the city had a blue ambient glow to it which lit up the shapes of the buildings. The train station below us had an old, almost Victorian gothic, look to it.
Suddenly it appeared that X and I were on a tram which was being driven by a woman. It was quite open, with glass windows and only an open roof. The tram moved out from above this station, to the right and into a darker area.
Now X and I were standing in a room. I think we weren’t supposed to be there, and there was a man who was about to come and yell at us for some reason. I grabbed onto X and he shut his eyes and transported us to another room, much like Hiro Nakamura from Heroes. I tried to do the same, but nothing happened. We were transported to another room, but I think I woke up here.

I am also now posting older dreams that I have written down by hand, as I'd like to keep them together here. This may be a bit confusing, as they mightn't have dates.

This is one of the oldest dreams I have written down.

EXACT DATE UNKNOWN - This was approx half way through 2008, around my half year exams.

I was running up what appeared to be Coven Avenue - although movement seemed distorted, and a lot slower than it should've been. I'd seen this place in my dreams before, but now it had kind of changed. The lower area looked kind of like Western saloons from wild west movies, and the higher area had a much larger properties like mansions. This was mostly to the right of my vision. On the lower level I saw A, R and possibly someone else but they didn't repsond to seem to hear me when I called out to them.
I saw CT on the opposite footpath (left side) coming down from the lower level as I was going up. At that moment, I noticed we were both in VCE uniform (maroon jumpers).
Continued up the avenue, saw G - don't remember much associated with her. Went into what was apparently my house. It was a huge mansion with a beautiful gothic and historic look to it. I think I had just moved in and I started speaking to the man who had sold it. He warned me that there was something wrong with the house. I ask if it was a curse or if it was haunted or something. He said there were 'meat people', which I assumed meant cannibals.
We had been kind of walking down corridors through the house, and suddenly these 'meat people' started to chase me. I ran out of the house, near a sort fo carpark, but some had got into cars to chase me. I was cronered near a kind of ledge and tress, and two came at me at once in cars, and I was stuck in between with nowhere to run. I woke up as I was 'killed' here - my 'death' was viewed from 3rd person, although everything else was in 1st person.
