      edsmaffs' Dream Journal

This is basically just an internet form of my notebook ... my dreams aren't anywhere near lucid, and I haven't gone very good dream recall at all yet. Nevertheless, I'm going to try to keep this journal going if I can...

I was with my friend in a shop on the High Street, I think we were in what's normally a Waterstone's (UK book shop if you don't have it in the USA). However, the floor had all been cleared to make way for this big furnace-like thing. My friend told me we had to turn it on to make this metal kind of thing (I remember being worried that it would be poisonous). We did so, and after about 10-15 seconds there was this big red flash from the furnace and this door on the front swung open. He was disappointed because it was all crumbly pieces instead of solid, but I was interested and stuck my hand in to see what it felt like (despite one part of my mind still thinking it was dangerous!). I think I thought it was like sticky flapjack! We left the shop, and as far as I can remember the dream ended then.

A false awakening! I can remember being pleased with myself because I could remember my past dream in detail when I 'woke up', and I wrote a lot about it in my dream journal. There were also these cards on the side of my bedside table, like the one's I used to revise GCSE exams at school. When I properly woke up I was annoyed that I couldn't remember any of the longer dream I had before.

I can just remember fragments from this one. I remember a slide-like thing shaped like a water flume, but with a large mechanical treadmill on the bottom that moves when people land on it. I remember queueing up for it and getting annoyed when someone queue-jumped in front of me. I also remember a big sci-fi-like control panel attached to the slide.

A bit from another dream: I remember a big big orchestra, but that's it. Just fragments, really.

Can't really remember much at all, but I'm trying to post anything even if it's just random thoughts. I remember trying to find the Easter Bunny, and being frustrated because I couldn't find it.

This one was a bit weird, and a lot more vivid than my past dreams. I was in my room with my sister, and one of the walls (the only one with a window) had been replaced with this sort of mix of wood and twigs, a bit like the wall of a badly made treehouse.
Anyway I was talking to my sister about what would happen if an atomic bomb landed in our garden. I think I said that "it would be beautifully majestic for about half a second, then just fire!". Then we started to see bolts of lightning striking the trees and forests outside. I said how it was lucky that none of the trees outside had caught fire, when little pockets of air started 'popping' and lighting the grass alight. Suddenly some of the twigs in the fake wall set alight. I saw this fire extinguisher leaning next to the door, and told my sister to go downstairs to ask Mum if it was alright to use it. Oddly enough I wasn't too worried that the wall was going to burn down; I was more worried that some of my books would get burned. I didn't hear any reply from downstairs, so I just picked the extinguisher out and put the fire out. After the last of the fire had been extinguished from the wall all the fire outside disappeared too. I remember feeling sort of self-satisfied and happy when I saw that!

I remember something about an Irish spy, and WW2, and Hitler. Nothing else though.

My dream recall is horrible, to be honest. Some nights are OK, but most are just a couple of images.

I was back in my old French class. One of us asked if we could do... something, I can't remember what, but our teacher said that we didn't have time because we had to do the test. (Not sure what the 'test' actually was.) But then she said that after we'd finished it we could listen to Francis Cabrel, a French singer who we used to listen to all the time in French lessons. Straight after that the environment sort of dissolved and reformed; I was at one small table in a big hall, a bit like an exam hall. I had science-y equipment in front of me, but the only thing I can remember exactly is that there was a pestle and mortar and a petri dish at the top-left of the table. Then the person in charge at the front of the room asked us whether we needed butter or sausage rolls. I put my hand up for butter, and my French teacher (again) appeared at the side of my desk. She told me in a sort of annoyed manner that too many people wanted butter, and cut me a small piece from this big block of butter she was holding. I remember trying to melt it down with some of the equipment on the desk, but nothing after that.

I was in my old German class. (This started really similar to the last dream I could remember. Is this odd or normal?) We got told that we had to re-do our oral exam preparation for section 2. She was giving us out sheets with example sentences on, when I noticed that she was soaking them in flammable oil before giving them to us. I remember being really worried that it would catch fire, but the teacher and friends around me told me I was being strange and it was completely normal.

Dream 1: Me and my sister were in the Tesco shop in the local town with my mum. We were reading this maths question off a test paper. I can't remember what it said, but it was something along working out whether it would be cheaper to leave my sister stranded in town to try and find the bus home, or to do the daily shopping and ensure we buy enough milk. A rather odd question... Anyway, my mum decided it would be cheaper to do the shopping with both of us, but she brought orange squash instead of milk.

Dream 2: I was doing a Physics exam. Most of the questions were easy-ish, but there were a couple of stapled sheets to the back of the exam that were impossible to do. One was about the causes and effects of the Vietnam War (Physics exam???) and the other involved forces and turning effects on a leather boot. I spent ages trying to ask my Physics teacher why the two questions were so much harder than the rest of the exam, until he admitted that he stapled them on to 'give us more of a challenge'. I also got really frustrated because the exam and candidate numbers on the front of the exam paper kept changing after I wrote and looked back at them (is this a dream sign...) so I had to keep on scribbling and re-writing them. For some reason I thought it was the person on the bench next to me trying to irritate me or play a joke or something.

I've been having lots of dreams about being in lessons / tests recently. Probably because I have exams coming ... fun! They're even getting into my dreams.

      Only bits and pieces again...

I remember going through a village and hearing that they needed to evacuate it. All of the houses grew little kind of roller things and started to roll away down the road. I don't know why they were leaving the village, but I knew really clearly that apparently the strange fact that the houses in the village had roller wheel things was written in a guidebook somewhere. :/

I also remember being at a posh dinner party. All the decoration and furniture was really posh black. I felt really overwhelmed by it!

I was in a minibus or coach, and my phone was in my pocket. It started to vibrate, and I picked it up and saw it was my Mum calling. Can't remember anything else. It must have been a really dull dream :3

Weird dream tonight! Harry-Potter themed. I don't remember it as a coherent storyline, I remember lots and lots of little pieces...
      • 1. My dad and someone who I distinctly 'knew' as Snape (despite not looking like the actor in the films) were laughing evilly at me. It's the first time I've felt real fear inside a dream. They were outside the front door of my house; I was trying to hide inside but they had broken the lock open. They hadn't opened the door or come inside to find me though; I just remember them laughing and feeling betrayed by my dad!
      • 2. I was talking to my History teacher, who had become the head of Hufflepuff. I needed to ask him where to find the magic 'something', but he didn't know what I was talking about. I think it was either a cup or a hat... maybe they're from one of the books.
      • 3. Me and my sister were outside my house. My sister was lying lots of strips of something red down on the embankment by our garden; I think they were red noses. My mum had something to do with Gryffindor. She was telling us to say safe, or something. My sister then started putting pieces of small change (5p, 10p) down on the red noses, and I told her to not be so silly and took them away from her. My mum then told me off, and said that we needed to pay her for .. something. I thought she was joking, but it turned out she wasn't really and wanted us to pay her. That's all I can remember!
