Who Told You About This Room?

Long time listener, first time caller. I've been documenting my dreams for a while now and would love to share it to whomever cares to read. I try to capture as much detail about my sensations and environment. I experience many semi-lucid dreams a week, but I'm still learning to maintain control when I'm fully lucid so there hasn't been much dream controlling yet. Still, it feels almost voyaristic to me getting such a vivid glimpse at some of the really surreal places my mind is at. I'll do my best to just give accurate details and avoid the Freudian ego waxing that I think taints so much of dream recollection. Anyways, I'll post a few recent ones to get started and then go from there.

(Semi-Lucid) After a series of events that quickly faded from memory except that I was briefly in a trailer talking to an old man, I found myself in an unfamiler room at nighttime. I noticed one of my feet were rapidly spinning counterclockwise as I glanced downward for a moment and this triggered semi lucidity. I felt as if this were a place I could always go to if I wanted to, but this thought lost it's meaning when I woke up. There was a desk and to the left several dozen books strewn about and some nondescript furniture. There was a very strange looking keyboard on the desk but I didn't pay much interest. I felt like I were in the future. I ventured further into the apartment. I began in the office/hall area with a balcony that overlooked a city behind me. It was dark out and the lights in the apartment were dim. I picked up a book and strained to read the title, but cannot recall anything significant about it. I imagined the owner of the house was involved in a scientific field judging from the books I saw. My attention was grabbed by a purple and beautifully surreal painting of some abstracted stairwell above a bed. The painting took up much of the wall and and greatly intrigued me, as I spent several moments looking at it. The stairs contoured like an Escher painting, but the deep purple colors made it look like nothing I had ever seen. I concluded that the painting was inspired by a dream (I was still not fully lucid or aware that I was dreaming). I started to become anxious that someone may enter the house and quickly walked to the kitchen area to the right.

In the kitchen area I noticed several aluminum cater trays with food in them. I felt hungry and started to eat a few meatballs I spotted in one of the catered trays. There was lasagna and other foods in the stacked trays; leftovers from a party I casually assumed. I started to become very anxious that someone would enter the apartment, and soon thereafter I heard keys outside the door. I quickly ran to the balcony and made a lot of noise as I strained to open the balcony door. I heard a voice call out after me as I climbed down the balcony and onto a tree which led me to the front of the building where a security guard noticed me. I ran down the street while staring at my feet and eventually hid in some bushes, where my focus and memory slowly faded. I woke up.

(Non-Lucid Nightmare) Me and a group of about twelve unfamiliar people were in a strange building that apparently was a military training facility. A few training officers spoke to us and then began to make us do very strange exercises. The room was about the size of a classroom and we were told to pick up furniture - I carried a large chair and much later, a table - and we were then directed to run around in circles and zigzags while holding the furniture and placing on top of other furniture. We did this for a long time to the point of exhaustion. At one point my vision and movements became very distanced but mechanical, and I told myself I was in a state of Zen(?).

A bit later we were brought to a room with several tables and people shaving their beards and hair. Each table was arraigned with several different types of electric razors and a circular vanity mirror that could be adjusted. I found a spot and picked up a razor and attempted to shave my beard; following what everyone else was doing. I immediately cut my neck pretty bad, and developed not a cut, but large red sore, similar to a burn sore. This perplexed me, and I kept trying to shave but each time would result in a large burn sore. There was no perceived pain.

I then walked towards a large purple machine that looked like a futuristic dentist chair. I attempted to operate the machine by picking up various razor heads and attempting to attach them to a nozzle on the arm of the chair. Eventually an impatient person next to me showed me that the machine was operated by a touch screen that you have to activate, and he instructed me to chose "Shave Beard." I could not make out what the words said but operated the machine successfully. I assured myself that if something goes wrong I'll still have my beard (was not lucid, but apparently semi-aware of dreaming). After that, we were taken out to lunch by some guys in charge and were given steak and cheese subs. Mine had green peppers in it. After two or three bites we were told to put our lunch down and meet in a new room.

This room was blindingly florescent and had about a dozen people finishing an exercise and preparing to move on to something else in a new room. They looked like they were in terrible pain but we were quickly instructed to line up facing away from them. There were splats of blood all over the floor, some loosely covered with white towels. I began to get very anxious. We were instructed to not talk to anyone else or something terrible would happen to the room we were in, and at the the time this reasoning made perfect sense. I was assigned a stern looking man who soon instructed me to bite on the end of a long piece of thick rope. I did this, and he soon thereafter began to drag me to an end of the room by pulling the other end of the rope with my jaw still clenched on the rope. He then began to swing me violently around the room. My teeth had a great amount of tension on them and I felt like I would lose most of my teeth. The pain grew absolutely unbearable and I attempted to get the man to stop swinging me, but was unable to open my mouth because I felt that if I loosened my jaw's clench even a little, my teeth out be violently torn out of my mouth. I gave the man desperate glances to stop, which prompted him to swing me and dragged me even more violently as if demanding that I fully 'give in'.

Finally and abruptly, he stopped. I could feel my mouth was full of blood and loose teeth and the sensation almost triggered semi-lucidity (thankfully it didn't). I barely had enough strength to unclench my jaw to let go of the rope. I immediately collapsed and choked out mouthfuls of blood and possibly some teeth. I writhed in pain for several moments. Then I crawled towards a girl who looked like she had been in even more pain than me. I attempted to comfort her but vaguely remembered that I was strictly told not to talk anyone. Reluctantly I ignored her, and rolled around the floor in pain. Several moments later I was instructed to bite on the rope again. I couldn’t even open my mouth to beg no, so I just groaned and rolled around. My train of thought lost focus. I woke up

This should be enough to start the journal off for now. Will post a few more older ones in a day or two.

(Lucid) I walked into a locker-room with several unfamiliar people. There was water coming from the ceiling and running down the walls like it was raining indoors in a very surreal manner. In place of lockers were small shower stalls separated by mesh grating. The mesh grating created a mesmerizing waterfall effect as the water cascaded down them and I become semi-lucid. Several people were showering in the room and others walking out with towels or naked, but this did not capture my interest. I walked into one of the stalls which was barely large enough to fit into and played with the water. I stared at my hands and became fully lucid. The feeling of lucidity was immedatly overwhelming and I forced myself to keep staring at my hands. I could hear the water coming down everywhere. Soon I exited the stall and still focused on my hands as lucidity was fading. My feet sloshed in several inches of water on the ground, and I made my way to a brightly lit hallway. As I made my way towards the hallway exit I noticed a dangerous looking extension cord suspended in the air by a thick orange wire with several wires extending from it and submerging under the flooded floor. I observed this for a few moments and concluded that I would obviously be shocked if I went any closer. Resolved, I tried to levitate my body through the doorway in a way which I wouldn't be in contact with any surface. As I manipulated my way through the door however (one of my first lucid manipulations), I felt a powerfully cold and overwhelming sensation; I lost lucidity and rewinded my dream. My perception of time was very confused and I was disoriented. I was back at the hallway and watched someone else go through the doorway and become enveloped in a blinding blue and white flash. I became very anxious and lost my train of thought. I woke up.
