The curious case of Nocturnal Emission

Thank you for visiting my little corner of the site. I decided to write this so that I have a more permanent backup for the pad I keep next to my bed (it's to much of a hassle for me to type here in the middle of the night so all of the following posts are copied from my writing pad). At present I still have yet to have my first fully lucid dream, but I think my dream recall is pretty good so my entries should be pretty detailed.

I would love to hear anyone's thoughts or comments, so I'm going to add a (admittedly very) small incentive. Comment on anything, and at the end of the post ask any question (lucid dreaming related or not) and you have my word I will answer truthfully. Since no one knows who I really am, I have no reason to lie.

This one was messed up! I was at college (not the one I go to, a different one) and was in a large group in what I guess was a courtyard. Every thing was going fine until this one guy brought in a box of kittens. Although I don't remember seeing it happen, I knew they killed them.

When they saw that I wasn't ok with it they all rushed me, tackled me, then drugged me with a needle. They then strapped me to an office chair and before gagging me, I said "just because I didn't want to kill some cats?", which made them all laugh. During the whole dream, I had the sense that this was some kind of initiation. I wasn't really scared even though I got the feeling most of them wanted to kill me. Their leader kept reassuring me, and for some reason I thought he had my back.

Somehow I got separated from them, but decided to go back so they wouldn't kill me for running. The rest of the school was running like normal. There were students running to class or talking in the halls, looking at me weirdly as I rolled through the hall still strapped to the chair. But they thought it was some hazing ritual and didn't help me. One guy stopped me and gave me trouble until I grabbed his arm and twisted it (I guess I got my hands free somehow).

During the struggle, the leader found me and led me to the parking lot (I was out of the chair now). This is when I really felt the drug's effects. I was talking really loud like I was drunk, and 2 guys had to help me walk. When I made it to the parking lot, the leader told me "don't be mad, but you won't need your truck anymore". Just before being put into a van I woke up. Towards the end was the only time I felt any fear.

Another poker dream (a common theme in some of my dreams). This time I was on Poker After Dark (a late night show on NBC). The only players I remember were Phil Helmuth and Daniel Negranu, and for some reason John Lithgow (from "3rd rock from the sun"). I won and the guys congratulated me. I then went to the bar to have a drink.

At the bar I saw a big screen with the playboy channel on it, like you could pay by the minute or something? I think that was in my last poker dream too but I didn't recall it at the time. Anyway, as I'm at the bar I'm emptying my chips out on the bar and I find a 1$ chip to hang on too (I collect them) when I notice a bunch of small and big blind markers (blinds are like antes, money you have to put into the pot before you can get your cards). I've never seen ones like these before though. Usually they are small discs, similar to poker chips, but these were cubed like dice but much smaller. There were 2 types, one red, the other white, both had gold lettering and I think they had either different languages on each side, or different amounts for the blinds for different levels (1 and 2$ blinds, 5 and 10$, etc.). I wanted these for my home games so I pocketed one of each along with my 1$ chip (which I now remember that I traded with Phil Laak (another one of the players) because mine was dirty).

After cashing in (for way less than what I should have won, a couple hundred at most) I realized that it was 2006 (don't ask me how or why?). I became partially lucid when I realized it wasn't 2006, but I couldn't hang on to it. I figured I must have a room in the hotel and next thing I remember is being up there with my mom and dad who came to watch me play.

In the room I was counting my money, and once again came close to being lucid when the prize money didn't make since to me (the winner usually gets over 100 thousand). But this time instead of slipping back into the dream I just woke up. So frustrating!!!, have yet to have a LD and now I have 2 chances in a single dream. Oh well, at least it's progress. Maybe next time I'll hang on to it.

Not too much to write down today. I went out drinking with some buddies last night and I think it had an effect on my recall.

Me, my parents, and my sister all went on a trip together. I don't remember where, but we all stayed in this large hotel. The hotel wasn't all that great (I remember the grass really needed to be cut bad) and was run by this really nice family.

Next I remember going down to the pool. There was another family off to the side talking and I noticed a really good looking brunette. She didn't have huge boobs or long legs or anything like that, she just had a gorgeous face. There was a guy skinny dipping in the pool, so when I saw his bare ass sticking out of the pool while doing laps, I decided to just grab a chair and lay out. After that is another blank.

Next I was in what I guess was the lobby, she was there too and we started talking. I asked if she wanted to go somewhere and have dinner, and she said yes but she needed to go get ready. For some reason I went off driving looking for a place without her, but I found her at a seafood place with her family. That's when I woke up.

Well, just got back into town today. Been on vacation, visting family in both Illinois and Florida (feels like I spent most of the 2 weeks driving). I've been on a dry spell as far as dream recall goes, hope things improve now that I'm back in my own bed.

June 17th, 5:15 am

Well, the dry spell is finally over. It took a couple nights back in my own bed, but I finally remembered some good detail.

Me, Kelsey Grammer the guy from Cheers and Frasier, a blond woman, and a young boy were all trapped in a large warehouse just behind the wall of what looked like a large conference room. We were invisible to everyone else and could pass through walls but there was a barrier blocking us from going more than a few feet past the wall.

The people in the other room couldn't hear us either, so the only way we could try to communicate was to write messages down on paper and stick them up to the back of the white board hanging on the wall. The message would then transfer temporarily but then fade away. No one noticed any of out messages though.

Then the "hallway" the narrow space between the barriers began to shift and it pushed us all out to the middle of the warehouse. It then began drop one side where it would pop back up as we moved forward if you remember star wars episode one, when they were fighting the guy with the little horns and black/red face paint, you'll have a picture of what I'm talking about. I was afraid of never getting out and starving to death, but I didn't want to rush forward and get separated from the others, especially the little boy since I didn't want him to be on his own.

We eventually made it to the wall where I opened the door. This set off the alarm so I ran outside and back up to the front of the building where Antonio a guy I used to work with (DC's that I used to work with is one of my reoccurring dream signs) was unloading a truck at the loading dock. That's when I woke up.
