Dream work for Yoga in classrom Dream
Question 1: How did you feel when you woke up? There were no strong emotions to the dream because I had forgotten about it until I began recalling other dreams. This dream was just interesting but not emotional.
Question 2: Reality check, (a) literal (b) symbolic or (c) an experience in a separate reality. Do you recognize any of the people or elements in the dream in waking life? Could any of the events in this dream possibly happen in the future?
Reply: This could be literal or symbolic. I'm not sure about the whole idea of a separate reality. I don't remember anyone specific that I knew. And yes it could happen in real life although with the good and attentive behavior of the students, I HIGHLY doubt it.
Question 3: What would you like to know about this dream? Hmmm. I would like to know if there is a message about what direction my yoga teaching should take. Or if there is a symbolic meaning using yoga as the metaphor.
Now I need my partner to go with Question 4: If it were my dream.........
Question 5: How are you going to honor this dream?
Skating on the swimming pool
I was on an Olson family reunion with my parents so I must have been younger, maybe teenage. We were gathered around a large outdoor swimming pool. I was swimming and practicing diving and other swimming techniques. The pool was not very crowded at all and just other family swimming and diving.
I had the thought that I would like to show them how I can swim or glide or stay almost on top of the water. It has something to do with the way I breathed. I took deep breaths, almost like filling up a balloon and then I rose up almost to the surface of the water. I began walking around from end to end and then it felt almost like gliding and slowly the water began to freeze and I was skating on the slushy yet solid surface. I was not cold, however.
I noticed there was something on my feet that must have been some sort of ice skate. I was going round and round and back and forth gliding and turning and becoming more and more graceful and coordinated on the skates. It felt like I was skating for an hour at least. The longer I skated, the better I was getting.
Then it was time to leave. I didn't really want to. I had to go collect my things from the downstairs lobby of the lodge or hotel because my parents were waiting for me in the car to go home.
