      Peachy's Realm of Dreams

      6/14/09
      Off to Canadia!

I begin this journal with one of the most vivid NL dreams I've ever had. However, my night began with a very sketchy dream, with a few of my friends and I trying to put back together a blocky plane in a video-game fashion. We would realize something needed to go somewhere, like a pontoon, and it would just float to the plane and attach itself. We then did a couple of flight tests on it, and it passed. There may have been more, but I can't remember it. This, though, is where the fun began.

I have a feeling the dream ended, and I attempted a DEILD subconsciously (adding that to my sig in a few moments). However, I forgot about staying conscious, still being half-asleep, so I unfortunately only entered a NL. But how lucky I was! This dream must've been the most vivid dream of my entire life.

I can't recall exactly how the dream began, but I vaguely remember rowing out on the ocean(in a tiny dingy)into a cove and finding a treasure chest. I rowed back to the docks and patched up an old boat in the same, arcade-game-like fashion as I did the plane in my last dream. This is where the details came in to play. I remember placing the lunchbox sized, army green treasure chest on a wooden crate. When I opened it, I was astonished. Somehow the chest had grown about 3 feet longer, and the contents were amazing and profound. There was a beautifully crafted scimitar-looking weapon, with a dazzling golden hilt. Carved into it were various vine patterns. (This may have actually been influenced by my waking life; I sharpened an old machete I had in my garage yesterday. Though it had no ornate patterns on the handle, and the blade itself was rusted and cracked, the overall shape of the scimitar was just like the machete.)

I averted my gaze from the scimitar and searched the chest for more treasures. I found a scroll, slimy and wet, with a tarnished golden top (which leads me to believe that it was older than the scimitar, as the scimitar was in perfect condition). On the front was a map, with several real-life elements (though Canada was an island...) and a few made-up islands. On the back was a very detailed depiction of something I presumed to be an island, shaped exactly like a skull and crossbones, though I can't recall the name. I believe (though not certain; the writing could simply have been on the first scroll) I found another, smaller scroll, which had only a bronze strip at the top, as opposed to the ornately decorated top the map had. This was my favorite treasure in the chest, and my absolute favorite dream-created object ever. Though it was slimy and tinted light green, I opened it right up, anxious to read what it had printed on it. What I found shocked me.

It was an old poem, written in old script. This was truly the stuff of dreams. No writing I'd ever seen compared to it. Though quite unfortunately I can't remember the whole poem, it described that the treasure was no eternal life, no fortune, and that anyone would have to be godly to find such a treasure. Just then, a bunch of my classmates appeared, running and horsing around down the pier. I clambered up into a mossy tree with one of my friends, and showed her the poem. She loved it as much as I did, so I gave it to her. One of my teachers, who I went to with all my philosophical findings, was shortly down the road in a grassy spot. I went down the dirt path, laden with torches, and showed her the map. She seemed excited.

I then went back to my new boat to find some of these islands. During the trip, the little fishing boat transformed into an old-world, colossal galleon, on which my crew- pirates -were fighting. I joined in, fighting wildly with my scimitar, and the chaos dimmed a little bit. Soon, I was cornered by an old man who was fighting with dual hooks on his hands. I slashed away with my blade, but he kept advancing. He pushed me onto a tiny sliver of wood hanging over the water. Something inside me, some instinct, told me what to do, and I grabbed his hooks and kicked his chest with both my feet. The hooks came off, and the man was sent sprawling backward. I then returned to my ship with a few of my top sailors, and studied the map in some sort of council room. My eyes felt strangely dry, and tired, so I tried opening them more. My real eyes bolted open. I quickly went back to sleep. Then, my ship landed on some kind of arctic island, with igloos and snow. My men went anxiously into the igloos. I tried to also, but the igloo I approached was different from the others. It had an opening, but it was more a mound of snow than a strong, icy igloo. I attempted to go in, but my hand hit the top of the igloo, and I was buried in snow. Sadly, I woke yet again, and could not fall back to sleep. As the hour and a half I spent writing this clearly demonstrates, this was one of the best dreams of my life.

No actual dreams that I could remember. I remember awakening from a dream that had something to do with a machine, and recalled part of one where I was embarassed about something, but that's about it. Nothing extraordinary.

Remembered a dream quite vividly about something I was thinking of yesterday. However, I quickly fell back asleep and lost it.

Last night, after researching melatonin, I decided to try some melatonin-rich foods an hour before bed. I downed a cup of milk and a banana around ten. Though I'm not sure if this was a direct cause of the small amounts of melatonin, I could remember THREE very vivid dreams I had! WOO!

      10/12/09
Dream 1; In some backyard with friends. Riding around on a quad (that handled like a jet ski?). Saw my old neighbor and his son riding an actual jet ski in the bay, which was separated from the backyard by a fence.

Dream 2; Image of some magazine article about children. Strange, I didn't see anything else but the magazine, like it was on a computer screen.

Dream 3; Thomas the Tank Engine story? Wtf? My mind's screwed up

Tried the banana-milk technique again, and got another great result.

Awoke from a strangely detached yet vivid dream about Colonial Times. I was semi-lucid, but I only manipulated anything that pertained to the storyline. My consciousness in dreams seems to be getting stronger...! Woo! Maybe I'll end the dry spell that's lasted a year! But I'm out of bananas...

Tried just milk last night, to no avail. Guess I need some more melatonin to have a really vivid dream.

Had a very vivid dream about going to some kind of correctional facility. I say correctional facility because it was a rather warm place, with wood floors, nice carpets, and soft beds. Sort of like summer camp. However, we were only allowed certain priveleges, such as no phones, no items even remotely similar to weapons, and strict diets. Dream ended after a strange tackle-soccer like game.

Two fragments of two dreams; had a race around a house with some friends; played a strange hybrid game of Halo 3 and GTA IV.

That's how it used to be for me, until I stopped being amazed at lucidity. Now, I hardly have non-lucid dreams.

      Remembered two fragments.
      1. Mom's a mob boss? ROFL! Never pictured mob bosses being that old! Went to a movie theater with her. She went inside one viewing room to make a hit, while I made a different kind of hit on the snack bar worker. Apparently it was a deluxe snack bar, as I was making myself a salad and a steak. Tried some of my vinagrette for the salad. I'm a pretty damn good dream chef!

      2. This one was much shorter. All I can remember is being in a light brown-walled cave. Wasn't dark at all, it was as if the sun was shining through the roof. Found a strange assortment of various gems, that I remember very clearly from somewhere... maybe a repeat dream?

EDIT: Plan to scare the shit outta myself with some freaky movies tonight. Maybe I'll get some Friday the 13th-inspired dreams?

      Stayin' Alive

Yes, I'm still here! Homework's kept me bogged down for the past few weeks (goddamn Doctor Freeman and her polyatomic ions...) and I haven't been able to post any of my recalls. Hopefully I'll be able to record more in the coming days.

      First post in weeks! Woo!

Happy to announce that I vaguely remember getting lucid this morning!!! I wasn't totally lucid, and I didn't use my typical dream control technique, but I do remember realizing I was in a dream and manipulating some things. I also was only semi-lucid, so I wasn't thinking straight. I should've gone back to the cavern with the stones... but oh well. Maybe my dry streak's ending!

Vaguely recall three dreams today. The first was- I think, at least -something about being a lumberjack. The second one I can remember most clearly; I was at some water park wih my friends, tubing in a lazy river. The third one I can barely remember at all; I just know it happened.

      A Tour of Wonderland
Only one recalled dream, but it was quite vivid. I'm sure there was more to the story before this, but I can recall as far back as being on a bus with some of my friends. I had the feeling that we were going on some kind of a tour. Many of them were standing, which struck me as odd, as there were perfectly empty seats next to them. For whatever reason, one of my friends quite randomly took his shirt off, returned to a seat with a young girl I didn't know well, and started making out. Oooookkkk... Then a pair of my two female friends sat down... and started passionately kissing? They are both quite straight (as far as I know XD), and this fact should've made me become lucid right away. Of course, it didn't. -.-

Anyway, our bus arrived at a strange, cobblestone road with many buildings. My friend- the one who felt the need to go shirtless -and I made our way down the road, visiting many shops. It seemed like a place out of Harry Potter. There were other places we went to, but the two I remember most vividly were probably the most interesting. The first was the Order of the Lucky Stone meetinghouse; apparently the clubhouse of the local cult. How nice. We were greeted with a creepy little "May the Lucky Stone (dream word that I can't really express) you". I made some quick excuse about the tour guide needing us back at the bus to get the hell outta there. My friend and I quickly filed into the next door.

The next room opened up into a huge exchange of some sort. The floor was coated in blue and gold square tiles. The room was a huge hexagon, and there was a single huge pillar in the middle of the room. Surrounding the pillar, in the shape of another hexagon, was a wooden desk. There were people standing behind it; one to each of the six sides. They were all wearing matching blue and gold robes. The woman we passed by was shouting prices and orders of different items. I'm not sure why, but it seemed to have a magical air about it. Upstairs was a large storeroom, where I somehow knew potions, alchemical ingredients and other magical goods were kept. Somehow I was able to take all this in within the fleeting moment it took for my friend and I to leave through the two large doors. From there, I could feel the dream slipping, and I slowly woke.

      The Fawn
For whatever reason, I found myself bow hunting in the forest with my father. Keep in mind I don't hunt, and would hate using a gun for anything but blowing up flower pots and beer cans. We were tracking a large buck who we had shot in the leg, but who did not die. We came to a small clearing where we had taken a short 15-minute break from our trek; we had been searching for hours. My father had fallen behind, and I came to the clearing a short while before him.

Suddenly, a buck with a limp trodded out of the underbrush. Something seemed strange about it, but I couldn't tell what. I took aim with my bow, but realized it was too large to take down with one shot and waited for my father. He took cover behind a rock, and aimed down his sights.

"Wait," I whispered to him as I lowered my weapon. "That's not a deer."

Puzzled, he lowered his bow as I slowly walked over to the injured beast. I realized that it looked like nothing I had ever seen. It had the legs and hooves of a deer, but the body of a baby calf. Its brown coat was streaked with white stripes. Its head looked somewhat like a cow's, but much more intelligent. It seemed to be studying me as I was observing it. The creature was about up to my shoulder, and had a perpetual smile grained into its innocent looking face. The closest example I can think of would be this:

      The animal I saw would have more of a baby cow's head, however. It looked very close to this calf;

It had a brown neck and ears, with a large white spot covering its nose, eyes, forehead and chin. There were speckled brown spots in the white area. I'm pretty confident its eyes were blue, but It's hard to recall.

I called my stunned father over to me. He stroked the beast's head roughly, and then crouched to examine its leg. He lifted its right leg up and the animal whinnied.

"We can't leave it like this. It's hurt. We should put it down." He notched the bow.

"No! I've never seen anything like this before," I pleaded. "It might be the only left of its kind. I'll help it." I bent down and snapped its leg back into place. At first, it bellowed and snorted as the searing pain of bone moving cut through his leg. It seemed angry with me. Then, it started advancing toward me, but it looked down as it realized his leg no longer hurt. It looked up, its crooked smile and small eyes thanking me in the most profound, non-verbal way I've felt in a dream. It stumbled at first off the small mound I'd found it on; then, without provocation, bounded off into the brush.

      The Godly Godfather
Wish I remembered more of this epic dream! I was on some special ops mission at the Vatican when I found some kind of office downstairs. Someone I knew was in there. I went to search the room below the office and found some expensive wine stashed behind the wall. Then I came to a huge double door with four locks on it. A cutscene came up, and it showed the Pope upstairs with a Magnum revolver in his hand. He was talking to three other mob members. And, sadly, that's all I can remember. :'(

Also recalled a video game based dream right before I woke up. It was sort of like a Nazi Zombies/Left 4 Dead style game. I got the last kill, knifing a fat zombie (Boomer?) sitting on a bench.

Another awesome dream I can barely recall . I was leading my friends somewhere through the woods. I felt like I'd been there before. When we left to hunt for food, we couldn't find our way back, and ended up in a place called Morristown. (Ha! I was just there the week before Thanksgiving to see Jockey Hollow.) I found one of my teachers there- the same one from the pirate dream -and she advised me to follow the river. The river and its surroundings felt very similar to where I hike in my woods. We never found our way back, but the journey was pretty fun.

      In other news...

Successfully started a DEILD today. I woke up from my hiking dream, and remembered that WILDing can be much shorter if you perform it when you just wake up. I focused on a memory of playing CoD from earlier that day, and sure enough, within about 10 seconds I could feel those unmistakable vibrations pulsing through me. I was able to stay like that for about 30 more seconds, waiting for the HH to kick in. However, for whatever reason, my eyes snapped open in a (forget the word ) sudden impulsive reaction. I had no intention to let it go at all. WILDs don't like me. Oh well, time to add it to the sig.
