"And I shall show you a story of the night..."
I begin this Dream Journal with the intention of updating consistently and faithfully recording my dreams as I remember them. This is to serve the dual purpose of improving my dream recall and my writing abilities. The urge to begin a dream journal again began last night when I had an intricate dream. Comment if you wish.

January 6th, 2009 Dream one.
Harry Potter Meets Microsoft Conspiracy?
Walking through nice looking hallways, wood trim and white paint. Occasionally a mix of people wearing robes and people wearing office clothes walked by. I reached the end of the hall and came to a large staircase, there was meeting of some sort at the bottom. A few large rectangular tables with matching benches were filled with mostly wizards and witches, a few books were at the end of each table. I walked to an office worker who looked in charge and suggested that to increase the effectiveness of the school to train the students in some logic skills rather than just magic and computers. The man talked this over with a few others who appeared out of no where and eventually agreed and had me help him pass out books. The dream gets a bit fragmented here and I wind up walking along another hallway with someone, we're both talking and eventually he tells me that a friend of his found a secret passage and that there were some weird things inside. We split up then as he went to a class and I went to work on some broken computers. Another fragmented part of the dream and I'm walking in a lobby and a dream character comes to me and talks about how his friend, the character I mentioned before, has disappeared. As we talk he mentions that his friend talked of a secret passageway just before two men asked him to come with them. I frowned at him and said I didn't believe him. Time fast forwarded and I was putting away some papers, I had just found out that both of the characters I spoke of disappeared. A man met me on the staircase, he had short cut black hair and a brown suit, he looked very serious and I realized this was the man I had contacted at some point. I told him to be careful what he spoke about as three people had already gone missing after mentioning a certain thing. Time skipped ahead to night and I met with the man again, he held a gun and I held a wand, we went into the secret passage and found a basement (Which I now realize was my basement.) with strange light. As we went in some shouted something and light flew from a corner of the room, we both ducked and I said something and water flooded the room then went away, we found Snape (from Harry Potter) cursing. He told us how someone he knew had gone missing and that he had come to investigate. I remember seeing something strange then the dream ended.
January 6th, 2009 Dream two.

I was walking through a high tech hallway, metal walls and floor, occasional computer screens, I reached a lobby area and started talking about something with my cousin, the dream faded here, I remember walking, then flying, then hugging someone. Then the dream came back in focus and I was in a hexagonal tunnel with metal sides, beams of light passes in pulses on the sides. I walked with one of my real life friends and we were talking about the game Portal. We reached the end of the hallway, which looked like a dead end. Just a metal wall with a strange device on it, the device produced a ball of energy which we stepped through and appeared in a coffee shop. The dream faded out again here, I remember birds and the smell of ozone from electricity. I came back into focus standing with a good friend of mine, she was slightly different in the dream world than in real life but I can't place what was different. We were walking through another of those tunnels and reached the end, we talked about how using the C-Sync fast transit device (I'm guessing that was the tunnel thing) made it feel like your feet were stuck to the ground and it was difficult and mildly painful to walk while in them. We walked for a while talking happily then we turned a corner and saw a slight change in the wall pattern, we looked at each other, our smiles gone. As she reached to touch the panel I grabbed her hand "No," I commanded, "I don't want you to disappear again." She said she wasn't going to touch it and we continued walking we reached another lobby, this one with glass walls and multiple screens displaying various news programs. The lighting was provided by a few flat planes of glass with waves of light constantly flowing through them. We continued to talk but not as brightly, as though still thinking about some past event. We met up with another of my real life friends and my cousin then I lost what was going on, something about buying milk and change falling, then some medical place. Then I woke up.
January 10th 2009
Fragment 1: Marching with my saxophone, somehow went back to band camp even though I've already gone for my last year. Everything seemed far bigger and slightly more elaborate than what it actually was.
Fragment 2: I was a butler at some mansion, they had one other butler, a skeleton guy who smoked cigars and had a low, rough voice. It seemed as though we'd known each other for a while. He offered me a cigar and I accepted. Though I don't smoke in real life.
Dream (LUCID! *celebrates*)
I was sitting around talking with friends at a former friend's graduation party. As we were talking I had the strangest feeling that I had done this before, not just deja vu but I actually knew what would happen next. I then noticed some oddities, the first was that the sky keep shifting shades from normal blue to green, to orange. The second was actually a reality check, I looked at my hands and found that they were now sporting a few extra fingers. As I stood up and walked away no one seemed to notice, which is not that surprising. I started off with a high jump, sixty meters at least, and started trying to fly. For some reason though I kept slowly falling back to the ground. I forgot about my lucid goals completely and just went around trying to fly again, I even leaped off a cliff side to try and see If I just needed to be higher up, I won't know if that would've worked because while falling I awoke.
January 11th 2009
Notes on a fragment: School, strangers, dark, red, metal, fire, water, brick wall, cat.
Dream: I was at a carnival in the middle of nowhere, I was walking with two people I'd never seen before. (break) I'm in a tent, sitting on a cushion, the two who were walking with me are sitting to my left. A 'person' was sitting on the other side of a low table shuffling a deck of very old cards. I could not tell the details of the shuffler very well, the candles did not give enough light for me to see, the general shape seemed slightly off. I watched as it dealt out three cards to the first person, I can't remember what they were. It said something but I didn't understand it. It then dealt out 3 cards to the next person, I remember a 9 of hearts, a queen of diamonds, and a jack of clubs. Again it said something unintelligible but with a somewhat brighter tone. It then deal me three cards. A queen of spades, a 3 of clubs, and an ace of hearts. Again it said something in a language I could not understand, but with a very dark tone, I looked left and my two companions were gone, when I looked forwards again the 'person' in the dark moved forward, as it brought it's face into the dark I saw that it was monstrous thing made of shadows and had blue eyes, as it lunged at me I woke up.

Notes: Car, highway, beautiful face, strange but entrancing eyes, wind, ocean.
I can only remember one thing, the girl's eyes, emerald green with some other color along a few of the lines on the iriss. I honestly cannot identify the color.
January 14th 2009
Dream 1 :
Notes:Ocean, eyes again, wind, something in the background, Sunset, night, stars, two moons.
Fragment: Near an ocean, red orange sunset on the horizon, the girl from the previous dream nearby, I could not see her but she was there. I remember seeing her eyes and a smile when I looked at her.
Dream 2 :
Notes: Night, seperated, fear, watching, stone eyes, hands.
Fragment: Resumed previous dream, was sitting next to the girl, she looked at me and smiled. (Break) Running from something, I see the girl ahead of me, she glances at something behind me and looks terrified. I glance behind me and see six statues freeze, their eyes have predatory glares on them, their monstrous faces frozen in snarls. I face forward again, the girl is gone, I turn a corner and see the girl turning back, three more statues ahead, these ones moving freely. (Break) Next to the girl running, with both turn a corner and all of them are there, one reaches towards me, as it's hands closed around my throat the dream faded.

June 22nd
The Garden of Sorrow
This story begins in a garden full of stone pillars and fountains. Flowers bloom in natural beauty everywhere, vines creeping up the pillars and fountains. A man sits on a bench next to a woman. They speak quietly to one another, lovers in hard times. The woman stands and walks away, clearly sad. The man stands and calls her name, pleading for her to come back, she continues walking, ignoring him and fades away, leaving the man alone in sorrow. He calls one last time as she fades, an unintelligible cry of anguish as he falls to his knees, tears on his face. He looks to the flowers and wonders how they can still be bright without the light of her in this world. He closes his eyes and finds himself next to a fountain, he is almost mad with thirst. As he lowers his head to drink a weaver of tales says "Do not drink, you may be lost in memories past."
The man glares at him
"There is nothing left but memory."
The weaver looks at him sadly and walks away.
The man drinks and falls into what must be memory, of her face, her smile, the times they had together.
He wakes looking at the strange sky, wondering why he dreams of this woman. He has never loved anyone, and has never known this person.
"This must be a dream," he says to himself as he stands.
The weaver leans against a nearby pillar, clapping softly.
"This is a dream isn't it?"
The weaver nods then gestures towards another fountain as he fades.
The man believes he can do anything, he realizes he can run fast and see things in detail. He jumps and looks down upon the garden, in the center is an enormous mosaic of the woman. His spirits are crushed and he falls back to the ground, overwhelmed by sadness, he closes his eyes. He hears something, someone singing. It is a beautiful song sung by someone unseen, for some reason he cannot understand the words. Then his world fades.
