      Linc's Dream Journal

This is my first dream journal entry. I actually posted this dream in the newbie's section, but realized that maybe it should go here too:

Last night's dream was pretty common for what I have experienced in the past: I knew in my dream that I was dreaming, but I wasn't able to control the events. I remember seeing two or three (I can't remember how many) snakes resting in a t-shirt of mine, hung up on a hanger on the back of the kitchen door. I do remember that one was a python and one was a rattlesnake. Neither of them made a move when I came near, but I remember feeling uneasy, and telling myself to stay calm because it was only a dream, and going into another room. When I came back into the kitchen, there were a man and two women sitting at the kitchen table. I knew them in my dream, but do not know them in my waking life. The shirt was gone, and so were the snakes. I pointed to where the shirt and snakes were and the man said "Yeah, I know. I took care of that." I woke up to my alarm clock just after he said that, and have been thinking about the dream since. Does anyone have any idea what the symbols in my dream may mean, and who the people might represent? Thanks in advance for any thoughts or advice, and I look forward to writing more in the journal soon.

I had another dream last night. Actually, probably two dreams that ran together, I'm not quite sure. It was not lucid. All I remember from the first part of the dream is being in a house that, in my dream, was my mother's house, but she wasn't there. There were a few friends of mine living there, and they were working on getting the house in order to sell it. It was an old Victorian farmhouse (which is the only likeness the house has to my mother's house in waking life).

The next thing I remember is being in the living room of the house, and there is a group of people. Maybe ten or twelve. There are only two people that I recognized from my waking life. We are all friends in the dream, except for one of the people that I recognized. It's time for me to go; to where, I don't know, but I don't have a car, so someone has to drive me. Only two of the people have a car. One is my friend that I recognize, but she is too drunk to drive, so I say "No, I don't think I want you driving me anywhere." The other is Simon Baker (from The Mentalist), but in my dream he is the real estate agent who will be selling the house, and I don't know him well, so I don't feel comfortable having him drive me home. I make my rounds and say goodbye to everyone. "It was great to see you all," I say "we should do this again soon."

The next thing I remember is being in a wheat field, on the edge of a hill with grass the same color as the wheat, and oak and maple trees growing on the side of the hill. I'm there with my friend Jen, and she has a black dog on a retractable leash. She's talking on her cell phone, and the dog is growling at me, so I grab his muzzle to make him stop. He tries to bite me, and Jen grabs his face. His head is in the shape of a bull terrier, but when she opens his mouth, his teeth are long and sharp and they are all growing at a forward angle. As I inch backwards, she takes a pair of pliers and pulls out one of his teeth (I guess in punishment for trying to bite me?). I start to walk away, and Jen gets on her cell phone again, and the dog starts running towards me, so I take off running towards a truck just on the other side of the wheat field. I yell for Jen to keep the dog away from me, but she's still on her cell phone, and the dog keeps running towards me. I get to the truck, and jump in the back of it, high enough so that the dog can't jump in with me. He is still on the leash, and Jen is walking around, not paying much attention to what is going on. I look up the side of the hill and see a baby warthog and his mother walking up to one of the oak trees to lie down. My attention goes back to the dog, who is under the truck now, and I move it to try to run over him with a tire, but it does nothing to him. I grab a hammer (from where, I'm not sure) and as I go to hit him on the head, I look again and it is a sweet black lab puppy, barking and wagging his tail.

Then my alarm clock goes off...
