      Naiya's Gallery

Here I won't be posting all of my dreams, or even all of my lucid dreams. But I've been thinking about doing some of the tasks here on DV again, especially the task of the year!

I might also post some of my lucids that are personal tasks/goals, or a few that are really cool.

DILDs will have blue titles, WILDs will have orange titles.

My current destination will be the death of the dinosaurs.Wish me luck!

I'd also like to go back to Pandora!

      Spoiler for Pandora:

Oh--and forgot to mention. My other current goal is going to the Wonka chocolate factory. Completed.

On the backburner I have the TARDIS Challenge:

I will be visiting all these places using the TARDIS--Time And Relative Dimensions in Space. In other words a space ship/time machine that looks like this:

      Spoiler for TARDIS:

Spoiler for It's bigger on the inside:

      Visiting all the Continents

      Sydney, Australia DONE
      Brasilia, Brazil (South America) DONE
Toronto, Canada (North America)--I live in the US but still gonna do my own continent!
London, UK (Europe)--This is just obligatory DONE
      Luxor Temple, Egypt (Africa) DONE
      Shanghai, China (Asia) DONE
      Antarctica

      Time Travel

      -Rome in its prime
      -Age of the dinosaurs
      -This...is...SPARTAAAA!!!
      -Feudal Japan
      -England during the Victorian age
      -Ancient Egypt

      Space Travel

      -Moon
      -Mars
      (more to come)

      Mythical Places

      -Avalon
      -Atlantis

      Challenge me!
Give me a cool thing to do in a lucid dream, or a place to go in my TARDIS.

Also, I wonder if I should I post my finished TARDIS destinations? Hmm.

Yay, I was hoping to get a glimpse into your sleeping brain without going to that other place. Have fun on the task of the year.

Wow, I made this thread months ago and I totally forgot about it...anywho, I didn't have any dreams that I felt were epic enough for the first entry, and school+work kept me from having the motivation to complete any tasks....until now.

      1/9/10

      Chocolate Factory!

LD: A man was driving my brother and I home. It was already getting dark out, so I figured it was pretty late. I remember my brother said something gross, and the man up front glared at us, the pointed to the seat next to him--a young boy peered around the seat. Err, oops. Oh well. We got to the house, and the guy dropped us off out front. My brother started heading inside, but I started to think about where we were and realized that this was a dream. I told the man he might want to distract his kid, and that I was just going to go somewhere close by so I didn't need a ride.

I jumped up and started flying down the street, figuring I'd know my way around town. But after only a block or two, I didn't recognize any of the condos and apartment buildings. Hmm.* I turned around the corner. And then I saw it. A big white building with a colorful sign that read "Chocolate Factory."

The first thing I noticed was a large white counter with a kind of soda fountain which poured our different kinds of slushies. There was already a rainbow of cups on the counter, begging to be consumed. I went straight for them. I drank the blue, the red, the purple. All just like the good stuff I used to get at Dairy Queen as a kid. Ahhh, so delicious. Then I saw several giant lolipops hanging on the wall beside the counter. I grabbed a couple and tasted those, too. Less tangy than the drinks, and more sugary. Mmm.

This looked kind of like a lobby, because there wasn't anything else edible in the room. But at the other end, there were some doors that looked kind of like hospital doors. I went up to them, and I began to visualize the scene I wanted, of a giant room full of candy. After doing this for a minute, I crossed my fingers and went through.

The room wasn't identical to what I was aiming for, but it had most of the elements from the scene I was thinking of. It was a large room with a high ceiling, there were candy trees, giant mushrooms and all kinds of strange-looking, enormous candylike things everywhere, with a small path twisting around and a few hallways at the other end going elsewhere.

I didn't know how long I would have, so I knew I had to make the most of this. Honestly, I was shoveling so many things in my mouth that I don't even remember most of the things I tried. I think among the first were some giant candy fish and sushi, like a starfish the size of a dinner plate. There were two kinds of mushrooms I tried. One had big spots which were made of cream that I tried. The other kind was smaller and had a semisweet spongy taste. I looked around for the bouncy balls, since I always wondered if they had any sort of juice in them. I found a couple in a tiny volleyball court with brown sugar instead of sand. The balls were coated in sugar, but the inside was marshmellow, like giant peeps.

Eventually I wandered out of the big room and found another room with several carnival-like games; one in which you had to climb giant Liquorice ropes, and the walls had different colored stripes with different flavors. I vaguely remember the other rooms, but not much because they didn't really have anything edible or interesting. In fact, the farther I went the less interesting things were--more and more rooms were filled with equipment, computers, or clothes. I decided to double back and I eventually ended up back in the lobby, where I tried to drink more of the slushies. Only now, I'd been eating and tasting sweet things for probably a half hour, and when I drank more of the super sweet slushies, I started to feel very sick to my stomach. I grabbed an empty cup and found a water cooler. I wondered if this would really help since it wasn't real water, but then I remembered that I was already feeling sick from candy that wasn't real either, so I drank it anyway. It didn't help much, so I wandered back over to the big doors, where a woman there suggested I heal myself. I told her that I would, but I just didn't know how to visualize an upset stomach getting better. She agreed, and left me alone.

I decided I was pretty much done tasting things, but I was already forgetting about all the things I'd tried since there were so many and I was in a bit of a frenzy. I went through the doors and looked around more, trying to retrace my steps and commit some of the things to memory.

I went back through the hallways, twisting and wandering through more and more rooms, until I ended up in a room full of clothes along all the walls.

Okay, since I just (finally) saw the movie Avatar, my next personal goal is to go to Pandora. I'm hoping to go tonight while the movie is still fresh in my memory. Wish me luck!

Okay, I was able to make it to Pandora the other night--sadly I wasn't there for long, though! I'm going to have to try again. I really want to go play in the forest and maybe fly around.

Anywho, sorry for the delayed update, here's the dream!

      1/24

      Pandora

Oddly enough, before going to bed, I convinced myself that I would go to Pandora. So I was very surprised to be IN Pandora right at the start of the dream instead of having to teleport. Immediately I was lucid. I was walking along a thick branch, following Neytiri. She was almost twice my height, so I assumed that I still held my human form. Ah, well, can't have it all. We were up very high, so I tried not to focus on anything but the branch itself. I wanted to talk to her, but I became very nervous all of a sudden.

"Where are we going?" I managed to ask.

"Home tree," she said. Hm. She sounded a bit annoyed.

"Uh...but am I really allowed to go there?"

"Yes." Sheesh. It was kinda hard to have a conversation with her.

We arrived at the trunk of the giant tree, but it was far different than I expected. There were all of these computer screens cluttering the sides of the entrance. When I went inside, I was suddenly in some kind of huge laboratory. It seemed that I had somehow been teleported to the human's base. I was led by a human woman now, to a computer. She told me that I was some kind of spy. I wasn't sure whose side I was supposed to be on, so I kept quiet. I remember her showing me a lot of stuff on her computer, but I became disinterested...I only wanted to go back to the forest and I was disappointed that my time there was cut short. I woke up.

That sounds a bit like my first Pandora dream...apparently it's hard to shake off the idea that human = avatar spy, right after seeing the movie

Yeah it was. A lot of the time I like to see how things go...if I'd known I didn't have much time, I probably wouldn't have let myself get distracted at the end.

Being lucid is just knowing it's a dream--it doesn't mean you have to change the dream or take control of it.

Yeah nice thing, trying to just go with the flow. I try to sustain my lucidity with doing stuff that I want to do... Nice, lets see how things work out when I'm a little better at LDing.

      Pandora Again

It was a false awakening and I saw myself in a mirror so I RCed. The mirror was placed right next to my bed. I stared at myself for a second, and I stretched out my nose when I rubbed my face. I looked almost alien. This gave me an idea. I then pulled my hand across my face, making my skin blue for a few moments. Now that I knew I could easily make myself Navi, it was time to go back to Pandora.

I teleported there through my bedroom door, or so I thought. I ended up in a normal looking neighborhood. There were a few pretty flower gardens and other plants here and there, but nothing remotely interesting and no one around.

I got a little frustrated and this time visualized myself jumping off the cliff into the river like the guy did in the movie. I was able to get an okay visual of it--it was a little blurry--but I was determined to make it real, so I jumped into the vision and fell down the cliff into the water. Once I was underwater, it felt realistic.

I got out the the water, onto a slab of concrete, which disappointed me. I saw the jungle on the other side of the river. On my side was human civilization. There were various humans milling about; curiously no one was wearing a mask, but neither was I, so I didn't think much of it.

I flew over the river toward the jungle, over this flower field...only there were these odd...burlap sacks here and there...and some of them were groaning. I took a closer look and realized that there were human bodies stuffed inside the sacks. Seems like they were the dead or dying.

One man was crying to me for help, and as Ieaned down to touch him, I saw an arrow fly between my legs, grazing my pants. I looked up and saw a couple of Navi close to the edge of the jungle. I ducked down behind the bodies and changed my skin blue. When I stood up, I felt myself grow much taller. I walked right up to them and they gave me a look but seemed to buy it. I reached behind me making a bow and shot at one of the (healthy) human soldiers to make sure they knew I was on their side. I don't know if I hit the guy due to the hill of bodies and flowers, but I figured it didn't matter as long as I was firing at the "enemy"

We ran back through into forest...to home tree...I really didn't get to see much on the way so that kinda sucked. But next thing I knew we were up in those little hanging cots and I could see a view of the jungle from them. There was quite a bit of fog around, but you could see the jungle and some mountains in the distance. I don't really remember sleeping in my cot, though--I think I was just being shown where they were. After that they took me down into the big meeting area and started showing me around there. I saw where some of the food was kept and where the animal pelts were kept. I woke up while they were still showing me these things.

I wish I could! Sadly it doesn't work for Macs.

I use a program called Dreamdiary that pretty much offers the bare bones: calendar/journal, and tracking and cataloging dreamsigns (has to be done manually so I don't really use that). If you know of a good program for Mac, let me know!

I keep forgetting I have this thread here. I need to do the TOTM this month too...

Bigfan: My recall kind of varies. Right now it's okay I would say. A couple of years ago, when I first joined, it was way better. But then I started working at a really sucky place which just about ruined my recall. When it was at its worst I went about a month without having any lucids.

I remember all of my dreams, but how much I remember and how much detail there is depends. Nonlucids I don't remember a lot of most of the time. My lucids are always vivid and it's easy to remember almost everything. When I'm stressed out, my dreams are mostly fleeting images and jumbled thoughts instead of coherent scenarios.
