      DJ: From n00b to ??? - jazzfreak11

      Hey there guys,

I'ma start my dream journal tonight

I'm a totally lucid dreaming n00b, so I'm just starting by working on my dream recall. I won't be trying to achieve lucidity just yet until I know that I can achieve at least one recalled dream per night consistently.

That being said, it can't hurt to start working on building habits, so I'm writing a big "D" on my hand, and every time I look at it, I'll ask myself if I'm dreaming and do a reality check.

Other then that, my plan is as follows:

      • Set alarms for 4.5 and 6 hours after I fall asleep
      • Have my computer ready for typing dreams (I'm more of a computer guy then a writer guy. I think this would make it easier for me. Have any of you guys experienced problems doing this? Let me know.)
      • (Optional, not sure about this one yet: Listen to one of ninja9578's subliminal audios from my computer while I get ready for bed)
      • Affirm to myself as I fall asleep and after each time that I wake up that I will wake up and fully recall my dreams
      • Write any final notes down after waking up.
      • Edit them for coherence, and post 'em here!
      • Place back each dream in my mind as vividly as possible.

Alrighty then, I guess it's off for Night 1! I'll come back in the morning hopefully with some dreams to share.

      Night!

So here's my results from Night 1:

      What I Did:

Had my computer ready to go, listened to Subliminal Lucid 3.0 for 15 minutes, set my alarms, and got into bed and was able to occasionally affirm to myself that I would wake up and remember my dreams.

Here's my actual dream log for the night. I'll put all my dreams in dark blue or something, leave my notes in black, and that's all I need for now.
      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So after I fell asleep, eventually the 4.5 hour alarm went off. I woke up, tried to remember some dreams, but only came up with some faint images. I think I just fell back asleep, because the computer was never touched. I don't even remember the 6 hour alarm going off. I might have just shut it.

      HOWEVER.......

Around 7:45ish I woke up with an urge to go to the bathroom, something that hasn't happened to me during the night for years. I went, then came back, and tried to recall some dreams. 2 fragments and one VERY vivid dream came back to me:

I was in a white minivan, and I went into a deli facing away from the road with my brother. I think I remember driving the minivan, but I'm not sure. I also faintly recall driving around before I went into the deli. The more I think about it, the more I remember, and I can start to see the inside of the deli too.

The rest of this dream segued into this:

I was on a cruise. On the main floor of the ship, there was a little trading post where you could buy just about anything, but also sell the guy stuff. We sold him something I don't remember, a pack of cigarettes my Dad had (even though he doesn't smoke), and then we planned to sell him a t-shirt I had. When my parents took me downstairs to sell it, I unzipped my jacket so he could see the shirt. It was a blue button-down, not what we had intended to sell. So my parents sent me upstairs to look for the shirt, and it could not be found.

My parents also didn't remember a lot of my family memories or things about me, so I began to suspect them of being imposters.

On the ship, there was a theater, with a rather large square lobby, and swinging doors on one side that opened into a hallway leading backstage to the dressing rooms, etc. I decided to explore and went in there, when suddenly the entire cast and band (which was full of all my band friends, and they wore silly marching-band-esque uniforms) for the show walked out into the theater. I got mixed up in them, and ended up sitting in this row of chairs they had set up for the band on the side of the theater. That is where they played from. After the first song, I asked a friend of mind who was playing something in the band, if the actors ever used the chair I was sitting on during the show. He said yes, and I moved to the next chair to my right. It was perfect timing because then a girl came and started using the chair. I remember bending and turning quite a bit as to not interfere.

After that encounter, I ran up to the normal people seats, but the ones in the back, where I hoped there wouldn't be enough ticketholders to fill up the theater.

The dream must have ended shortly after that, because the next thing that I remember is chilling with some people at an old white house in front of the street, with an grassy/gravelly driveway to the left of the house. I remember my viewpoint being slanted and everything looked a bit strange. The layout of the house, in retrospect, reminded me of my Grandmothers.

There's another dream I think I had between then and waking up, but I forgot it already.

So that was my first night of dream recall. The example in which I totally remembered everything sometimes happens to me. I'll have a very, very vivid dream, often strange, and remember it all. I remember having one of these in 1st grade and proceeding to write about it ( i still remember it totally). Hopefully this little skill of vividly recalling and remembering a dream will help in the future.

      Soo... yeah.

      Day 2- Pre-Sleep Update

So a quick update on my day:

A few hours ago I started doing some reality checks, just because I think it'll be a good habit to start. I've been jumping and making sure I come straight back down, making sure my lightswitch only turns the lights on and off, checking to see if my mirror is working properly, and trying to walk through my window or put my fingers into my mirror.

I feel like such a lunatic this is awesome! When I start really trying to LD, DILDs are def going to be one of my methods. For now, I'm just working on recall.

I've got my computer ready and my alarms set for 4.5 hours and 6 hours. I'm going to affirm stuff about recall to myself as I fall asleep. No subliminal audio tonight, but I'll be fine.

I've been reading a lot on these forums lately, so maybe that'll have an influence on my dreams.

      See you in the morning!!

      Last Night's Dreams (Which I never posted! :O )

The school band was on stage, playing music for the spring musical at our school. A friend and I both shared the drumset part. With 15 minutes left in the show, we packed up and left, because we were done playing. Before that we had been rehearsing.

      Seque into:

Then I was in some kind of basement, apparently of my church, and my job was to print out mailing labels to send out invitations to the school musical. An older lady from my church was there, using the computer, but she left when I came in. I started to print mailing labels, and as I did I found a bunch that were unusable and had to be thrown out. The rest I put on the ground. The strange thing is that the ground was wet, and when I picked up the mailing labels again, all the ink had disappeared. Apparently any time I put them down on a wet surface, all the ink ran off.

I can't remember the rest of that dream.

      Fragments:

(I can't remember wether it was a specific group of friends or just my girlfriend) was/were over at my house after christmas, and I was showing them some of my new stuff.
