Allow me to Sarahnade you with tales of my dreams

I would really like to get better at lucid dreaming. I know a major first step is to keep track of all my dreams. So I am starting this public journal to motivate me.

One of my friends, Kacey, showed up in a blue frilly dress and told me she'd started going to this church. But it was more like a cult. There were only like a handful of foods you were allowed to eat, and there was a really rigorous interview process before joining. She and I were standing in the sanctuary, talking about the homework we had to do over the weekend, when a lady (church secretary) walked in and got on the phone in the back. She started talking about how she was supposed to meet to girls here but they didn't show up and I kept yelling, "That's us. We're here." She finally got the hint it was us she was meeting. Then she started talking in Spanish. She was hoping I didn't understand, but I did. She was taking about needing a rabbit foot for the ritual. I knew we were supposed to eat it. Another lady came in and started asking me a bunch of questions and was trying to set up an interview time. I told her I really wasn't interested and I had just come to see Kacey.

Then there were a bunch of people in the sanctuary. And a big projector screen on the side wall. One guy had a video camera and was apparently filming a "join our church!" type video. I was a little upset I would be appearing in this, since I didn't like the church. But I was smiley. Then the video cut to a previously filmed bit about the leader and the musicians in the church. They were all Korean and looked like a boy band.

Kacey left the sanctuary to go to the room next door because there was free potato salad. She opened the container of lettuce (to put her potato salad in) but it had mostly gone bad and she didn't want to open a new one. I showed her there were two already opened ones that were fresh. So we each got a lettuce leaf to put the potato salad on. We walked over to the tray with the potato salad (it was just mashed potatoes with cheese on top), Kacey put the serving spoon in, about to scoop up a bit, but then remembered something and walked away. I moved the spoon to a different bit because I didn't want to take the bit she wanted. I put some potato on the lettuce, and there was also some chicken on the lettuce, which I never put there. Kacey came back and was upset that I'd moved the spoon. "No it's ok," I said. "I know which part you wanted. I watched it when it slid from the spoon."

Then I woke up.

Blergh. I didn't write my dream down when I first woke up. Now I don't remember anything at all. Except that I had a dream.

I walked into a piano/quitar shop to ask about lessons. The owner was Trent (a friend of a friend in high school). He said they give both voice and piano lessons. So I signed up. To my luck, one was starting right now!

I didn't realize that these weren't one-on-one lessons. But instead it was more like a choir. We all were doing the same exercises and singing the same music, no matter how long you'd been taking lessons. That was pretty quickly over.

Next, my best friend and I were sitting on the front steps of the voice lesson place, decorating a halloween cake? Chocolate cake with "slime green" frosting. It was pretty epic with plastic characters and moving parts and smoke. I think the characters were all from sesame street.

We finished as Trent and his wife came outside. Apparently the studio was also their home. They loved the cake, even though they knew it was stale (Halloween's been over a long time). Then they got in their van and drove off. My best friend made a comment about them being Ken and Barbie. It's true. They were.
