      Smile Pascal's Dream Journal

Well, I figured I'd start one of these online today because today is rather special. I achieved lucidity! I keep one offline right next to my bed for pencil and paper pleasure, but this will be easier to search and I enjoy sharing my dreams on the internet in the odd idea that others might find my dreams interesting to read .

      Here is my color key
      Dream, Non-Dream, Lucid Dream,

      Dream 1.0

I've had some interesting tries at lucid dreaming before last night, in fact, I had a total of three false awakenings (at minimum) in the last couple of days before finally reaching lucidity last night. The first two times were down-right strange because I had someone else inform me that I was dreaming... I acted surprised and then thought they woke me up so I tried to go back to sleep.

Overall though, I've failed each time because of an oddity with my RC. In particular, I'd look at my hand, count five fingers and assume I was awake. I had a bit too much faith I guess O_o. Things changed a bit last night though which resulted in a good experience.

The first dream of the night didn't give me lucidity, it was another false awakening. I was back at my childhood house in Glendale and realized it was weird that I wasn't in Flagstaff, so I tried the hand based RC (counted five fingers quickly) so I figured I wasn't dreaming. I then walked into the family room and jumped down from the tile to the carpet and did a test on gravity (which I suppose was somewhat original ^_^). I noticed a distinctly reduced gravitational acceleration but not enough that I could conclude I was dreaming... at which point I awoke.

      Dream 1.1

The second dream was more vivid and I once again saw the dream sign that I was not at my room in Flagstaff (I was still in my childhood house in Phoenix). I did the five-finger dream check again (I need to figure something else out ), but this time I stared at them a couple of moments longer, allowing me to realize that some of the age had left them (which allowed me to notice I was shorter) and that if I stared at them there was a slight flicker of blur on the sides on occasion, it didn't change the number of fingers, but it was enough to give me some more confidence.

At that moment I looked to the right and noted that the tree that had been blown over in 1996 in a massive windstorm had returned (and there was some strange Gothic brick structure built into the side like a flying buttress). Across the street, I saw the bricks in the nearby houses and was amazed at the visual clarity and detail in the images. I can't bring them to mind now using my normal memory with the same clarity, but it were as though there was more detail visible in my mind then I could gain in reality - as though I could make out every crag or pebble in the mix. The grass was a brilliant green and it was clearly over-cast as the sun set which lit up the nimbus clouds in fire bright reds, purples and golds. The over-cast skies covered everything though.

So, I have a personal lucid dreaming goal, I'm an avid fan of the Dreamkeepers Comic and plot to go to Anduruna via lucid dreaming - the entire comic takes place in the "dream world" so... Theoretically I have convinced myself I can visit for fun while practicing how to go lucid (plus I'm curious to see how my subconscious will render the world it saw in comic form).

Given that I was lucid, I figured I'd try the first thing that came to mind and literally just create a door from the front of my house to said location by "willing it" into existence. I threw my hand out several times (like I was going anime on the scene) and just tried to will a rather old looking door into existence in the middle of the scene which I would imagine my destination would be behind. (I've tried this a while back... but no luck, but the dream was fuzzy so I figured that I would try it again).

Nothing... ... (hopes to himself that he's not making an idiot of himself in front of his old house now)

Well that hadn't worked the first time so it might not work this time I supposed. So my next goal was supposed to be "find someone to give you directions".

This part would take a while as no one seemed to be around , so I'd have to at least walk around the corner and hope to meet up with them. As I tried this however, the whole scene suddenly became vastly blurry (which was really frightening at first to see the sharp transition). However, thanks to the guides on this site, I knew this was a symbol that the dream was coming to an end and tried a second method (dream twirling) and found to my shock that the dream world became stable once again!

Sadly I couldn't bring reality into someplace more interesting with the technique (still same old block) . So realizing that I might not have a lot of time left, I decided walking might not be the best means of travel. So now might be a point to note that creating doors to other dimensions isn't a strong point... flying though .

It was like a natural reaction, as though I'd done it a hundred times before (although with no luck with the door... by this point I was sure lucid dreaming was a bit more difficult then a regular dream). Leaping in the air, I simply "felt" the movement up and began to rapidly accelerate towards the nimbus clouds above... And by rapidly, I mean well beyond my control so that I hit the clouds in about 3 seconds flat (It didn't seem like they were closer to the ground, I literally felt like I was going MACH 2 - if I turned around, or lost control, I'd be dead). (I apparently have very little speed control in my dreams and whenever I try something like this, I always go far faster then I want; waking up just before I smash into a concrete wall - I don't try it too often X_x)

I hit the clouds and the fuzzy edges blasted past like a grey ocean of mist in an instant, leaving me beneath the open heavens. The highlight of the dream. A violet sky above an ocean of clouds lit in the fire of the heavens, a moon-sun that were made one. It were as though the moon itself were made of a glowing semi-stable hot gas in orbit, with the maria as darker sections of a shimmering maroon and the surface as a brilliant fire pink with a brilliant golden corona of wisping "lunar flares" dancing with widths about half as wide as the moon herself along the surface at max. All this against the backdrop of a swirl of stars glistening in a perfect sky.

Awestruck by the beauty, my rocketing acceleration came to an instant halt and fell in free fall back towards the clouds below as I simply stared wide-eyed at what I had seen - like some kind of celestial miracle of the mind.
Plummeting I fell back into reality waking to the light of the day as I grasped my chest. I know that moon, Anduruna sits beneath a crescent moon that glows like the sun, but I never imagined it could look so beautiful. So I had done it, I made it to the skies of Anduruna, now I just had to get my feet on the ground. I'd also achieved one of my best lucid experiences ever. Independent of where I was though, it was one of the most amazing dream experiences I've ever seen.

Smile Of Ghosts and Odd Weather

Hooray for haunted houses ^_^! I wasn't able to grab anything more then fragments from the previous days dreams (Thus no updates), so it was exciting to be able to grab one today. I was surprised that I could get some rather good hypnagogic imagery going yesterday however while trying my vein efforts at WILDing. Unfortunately, last nights weren't lucid dreams, but imagine if it was!

      Here is my color key
      Dream,Non-Dream, Lucid Dream,

      Dream 2.0

The dream starts off with me watching a television screen in a secret laboratory as it describes a horrible end of the world scenario. The narrator discusses in a sober tone that there are more microbes on this world then simply terrestrial life. That is to say, there are extra-terrestrials among us. However, beyond being simple microbes feeding off earthlings these microbes have a sinister side: recent archeological evidence reveals that they await a time when a great super-natural event will occur around the globe before becoming active... and when they do, they will rapidly spread as an airborne illness and display their rather lethal side... they can kill a human being in less then two minutes (I would later be exposed to them however and survive for days, so apparently this was an exaggeration).

After this, my dream recall becomes a little fuzzy but I don't remember what we were told to do about this wonderful piece of information we were given. In the end though, just as the video ends, it shows the viruses leaving some ancient cave (Now might be a good time to use a large anti-bacterial bomb) @_@). I rushed outside and to my shock, saw them (they looked like whispy brown clouds swaying through the skies, so apparently they weren't entirely at the whim of the air), as they permeated the city.

With great apprehension of what I was seeing, I rushed back to my sisters house. She apparently now had a child and lived in a different looking house. I'm trying to convince her that this viral thing is real and that they have to get to safety (what that safety is, I have no idea) but it took a while before they'd believe me (apparently when their infant started coughing they believed me even though... there really was no evidence that coughing was a symptom O_o). I didn't argue and they started to grab their things and left me with something to carry of my own, one of their pet ferrets which was born to them by a pair of their other ferrets (also doesn't exist IRL).

Yes... I should have checked for some dream signs by then- like parasitic alien bacteria, unknown nephews, secret laboratories, but no...I apparently only check for dreams when things are semi-normal X_X - fails.

Taking my new fuzzy friend with me I drove off (another dream sign, I don't drive) to get as far away from populated areas as possible. I had a particular destination in mind, but never ended up getting there...

      Enter ghosts.

Instead of getting to the destination I wanted on the far side of this massive river that I came to (you could barely see the other side) at about dusk, I drove my truck onto a chain metal ferry to cross... Only upon getting on however, did I realize that this wasn't a public ferry, it was a private ferry. It wasn't heading where I wanted to go, but a supposedly old haunted mansion out in the middle of the water that was reported a while ago on ghost hunters (I've never actually seen it on ghost hunters). In fact, it was being used by a private group of ghost hunters (not the ones on the TV series - but some other private group) that wanted to do some "hunting" at the location.

They were low on time as they had a lot of equipment to set up and the sun was just about to set, so they decided they'd take off with my car on the rig as well. By now, my fuzzy ferret companion has grown up with me and despite the fact that I should have only driven for a few hours, he's now full grown and quite amiable. There is no logic to the time differentiation - I'm just happy that I didn't decide that the ferret became my sister by that point .

Arriving at the house, one wonders if the owners didn't create it with the thought of haunting it in the afterlife in mind. It was an old Victorian house in dead dull colors with lots of dusty windows sitting on an island... there was almost no land around around the house, just water and about four feet between the stairs and our boat. (They'd have to unload things into the house from the boat and leave their cars parked on the vessel).

The inside was every bit as creepy as the outside with at least three floors all made of creaky wood, large mirrors on the walls (I should have been able to gain a dream sign out of that) massive ornate throw rugs with lots of reds, golds and blacks... I really must compliment the color combination but I think it could use a tad bit more bone around the door frames. This place "looked" haunted. It didn't matter if there were ghosts here or not, this place was down right creepy - and I was getting the pleasure to do my first ghost hunt here !

I was content sitting on the carpet in the parlor, but sadly my inquisitive shoulder-riding friend noticed something. Other ferrets, in particular a ferret with lots of fur that stuck straight out in a way that would make Albert Einstein proud. Pouncing about in usual ferret style to interact with his new found friend. I smiled for a bit at their display of kinship but wondered where this new ferret had come from. Standing up I looked in the mirror and noticed it was dusty and rather blurry, there was an image of something white in the left hand corner that really creeped me out, but when I turned around I shrugged it off as an old broken crystal chandelier hanging from the roof.

This room was supposedly (shocking) very haunted. But whether or not the ghosts had actually hurt anyone here () I wasn't sure. There was one room however where they enjoyed showing off their... more violent sides. My guess was that it was probably upstairs. The upstairs is always more haunted.

Just then however, I realized that my ferret was gone. I started looking around for him but couldn't find him and realized that a ferret could hide in so many different places in this house it wasn't even funny. If there was a hidden room, HE'D FIND IT! Now scurrying about like a ferret myself, I went about to look for my lost friend before the ghosts got to him and found to my horror that behind one of the dressers where he and the other ferret were playing by, there was a rotating energy vortex just big enough for a ferret to fit into. Wonderful >_>.

Thus began the great ferret hunt and my dream-view switched to video game mode with me going through the various labyrinths of the house, while avoiding falling down sharp drops and choosing inter dimensional portals wisely as I went about. Eventually though, I found my ferret... in the front room where we entered with an old man that resembled Lennin or some old soviet revolutionary with a bald head and a sharp gotee in old clothing... that most fit the location. The ghost hunters had a most uneventful night with only really bad personal experiences and no physical evidence.

But my arrival would apparently wake the dead as seen later.

I was talking with the creepy apparent owner of the house and was told that he recognized my ferret as the child of two of his previous ferrets that he had sadly sold but been very fond of. He had a rather large collection of ferrets that enjoyed running around the room in a most playful manner. It was just about then, that something happened. A mirror behind us started flipping and moving erratically in a most strange way that caught all of our attention, but then stopped after the old man grabbed it.

All eyes were on the wall and as soon as the mirror stopped moving, the other objects started. All were pictures in picture frames, which were remarkably modern. They had a dark frame along the edge with glass in the center that would hold up the image or picture.

One after another they started bouncing and shaking violently and caused one other ghost hunter and I quite enough of a scare and a sense of fear that we both invoked an old phrase "By the power of Jesus Christ I command you to leave!" we both rebuked. At that very instant, all the pictures on the wall fell back to their normal positions and ceased to move for the rest of the dream.

We both sighed a sigh of relief, but the other ghost hunters were unhappy. The event had caught them so much off guard that they didn't have any "real" evidence and started to find other ways to debunk the situation. Thinking about it myself I realized that the weather outside was rather windy with some storms overhead that seemed to be quite strong. I contemplated the image in my imagination (while dreaming) in my head. I visualized (which was surprisingly as difficult as it is in RL) a schematic of the frames, and noted that their design made them so that they would fit snug against the wall, with the frame bordering an air pocket behind the glass.

Then I imagined a high pressure pocket of air behind the glass and rapidly deflated the pressure from the other side. I couldn't work out numbers but if the force per square inch behind the glass were sufficiently greater then the force per square inch on the other side of the glass, I could imagine a net force pushing perpendicular to the glass that would have the net effect of lifting the picture frames against gravity. If the change in air-pressure were slow however, the two would likely equilibrate before anything so drastic would occur however, but a rapidly changing air-pressure I imagined might be able to give us just that effect. I shared it with one of the other ghost hunters and he became very irrate noting that he had overheard on the radio that one of the largest low pressure systems ever recorded was thought to be passing nearby and that it might have just hit our location at that moment.

So, in the end, were the pictures moved by ghosts or by weather? That is the question of the dream.

I was able to recall a second dream last night, but not nearly as long or as interesting.

      Dream 2.1

The second dream involved watching TV once again (I don't own a TV which is most bizzare). I was watching rare footage of some crazy young man who was chasing down a jaguar... but it looked like some over-sized mangy dog from the set. The video claimed to have amazing footage of a giant electrical spark phenomena that occurred because of a massive charge build-up on the jaguars fur.

The chase went across fields and through old villages as this poor creature tried to escape the crazy human who was bent on becoming it's prey O_o. The video ended with nothing of any interest, but then claimed that the event happened on another non-released video that followed (which makes no sense). This time, I was chasing the jaguar - or at least I was in first person doing this. I don't recall why.

I went through a maze of abandoned backyard buildings from old greenhouses to tool sheds as I chased this thing down to try and X_X corner it! This chase lasted a good couple of minutes as I became amazed at how deep the maze of buildings went. I only realized how stupid this might be when I started seeing human and animal skeletons around (apparently they didn't try chasing it). Eventually I got what I wanted though and it was none too happy.

Cornered it lept at me and I found myself wrestling with it and literally trying to keep it's jaw shut by grabbing it's muzzle and crushing down on it with my fists while I body slammed the poor creature into walls. *I wasn't winning as it was trying to rip itself free and was flailing it's whole body back and forth.

It never got free from me, but I woke up before then. Who knows, maybe something else also lived back there and ate us both! (Is digested)

Well there we go... that's almost a bit too long to put in my paper journal, I have these epicly long dreams quite often - I'd love to be lucid for the entirety of them.

      Victory to the Neosapiens!

Last night was rather difficult, couldn't pull off anything close to a WILD because of some stomach pains that resulted from a late meal of spaghetti, butter grilled shrimp and two pieces of pizza. I'm a college student, give me a break . It did make for an interesting dream however that was quite the blast from my past.

      Here is my color key
      Dream,Non-Dream, Lucid Dream,

      Dream 3.0

This dream took place aboard a Neosapien Battlecruiser within the Sol System during the war between humans and Neosapiens in the exo-squad universe: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exosquad. What was particularly interesting was that I wasn't Neosapien, but very much human. The history I "remembered" in the dream was that I very much sympathized with the Neosapiens and viewed humanity in the wrong for attempting to enslave another sentient life form.

As a consequence of this, a few years earlier I had aided in a Neosapien uprising at the rather young age of nine years old. My treason against the human race estranged me from them in my mind but in reality gained me a strong friendship with one of those I helped, the future captain of said Neosapien Battlecruiser, who I knew viewed me much like a son (and likewise I treated him as a father-figure). Which is particularly interesting because when I looked them up (it's been a while since I watched the show) it turns out that they were created sterile by humans at their "birth".

By that point however, I was starting on my way to becoming a good exo-suit operator and the rather large crew of Neosapiens viewed me with either like or disdain depending on if they got to know me or not. Unfortunately, what stood between me and having an exciting battle in the stars was a bit of digesting food in my stomach that kept me sick all night. So, instead I got enjoy the frailty of my humanity and reported on deck as sick - after wandering the plane metal hulled walls of the space vessel.

I was promptly issued leave to see the ships medical physician, a rather old Neosapien who didn't particularly like humans or our "inferior" biology. He noted sternly to the commander that unlike Neosapiens, humans were incapable of handling the stresses of the world and that healing measures sufficient for a Neosapien wouldn't work for me. I was beyond his care and only a human medical facility could attend to my problem which he said could be anything from gaul stones to some other form of severe problem, but he couldn't determine what. Despite his lack of indecision though, he assured him that I would be dead before long without such aid and should be removed from active duty to meet my end.

I took the information in a very sobering manner but was shocked when the full order came through. The commander upon hearing these words immediately ordered a crack Neosapien Spec-Ops team to perform an insertion into human territory in order to bring me to a human-based medical facility. After that, I was to try and find a way back to the Neosapien lines, but should it be too difficult, I was to blend in and live in peace among the humans till the end of the war. Before I or the doctor could retort back he then pre-empted us both and turned his back on the ships bridge camera and shut the feed off.

So... off to Earth I went... or some nearby human world . I only remember getting off among grassy mountains near a city. My escort getting out of there as soon as we touched down as things weren't as smooth as expected (we were spotted by humans). I had some advantage because the commander had kept me out of Neosapien media to shield me from being specifically targeted by my fellow humans as a "prize" target.

Unfortunately, the evil humans were still being suspicious of anyone in the area and demanded ID from anyone nearby because of my escort. I hoped they would get to safety, but had to hide out myself until I could get into the city. I turned the corner of one of the cliffs and met up with a squad of heavily armed ground troopers looking for targets. And there I was, about half a klick away most likely still in the only clothing available - Neosapien clothing O_O.

As soon as they saw me either way, I took off for the steep hills and they took aim. I could see the bullet traces land around with the ping of lead against the ground as I tried to gain distance on a hill which granted me little grappling ability... if it rained, I'd practically think it would crumple, the boulders were as brittle as shale.

I did eventually get up over the rocks and had left so little behind me that they couldn't follow (well they stopped in any rate). At which point I was working to get to the city which I could see just off in the distance. At this point, the dream became rather blurry and stopped.

      Dream 3.1

The second dream was in a shopping center just south of our house. I had just noticed that someone had re-released Star-craft and Brood wars in new fancy high-res images (even better then star craft II, this was beyond the best graphics we have today - DREAM GRAPHICS!). I wanted to pick up a copy but figured that I could get a copy cheaper then I could at Blockbuster, which was selling it for 39.99 (which is rather cheap for a game today now that I think about it). If not, I knew I could pull off my usual trick of waiting a year after release and then picking it up. Overall though, nothing that interesting except that I could easily read the price on the box, text is supposed to change, but this didn't O_o.

      Night 4.0

Not really worthy of an update, I tried the FILD with some relative success. I managed to get into SP (I think - either that or I was just really relaxed) but I think I gave up the fight to fast and fell back asleep without being lucid . Had a few fuzzy memories of dreams though so I'll post them here.

I start to remember the dream while driving in the car with my father as he was trying to take me to a voice practice lesson with my elementary school band teacher. As I sat there I found this particularly odd and when I wondered why, I realized that I was 23 and had no place being back in elementary school. I protested this to my father who agreed with me and we both agreed Mom was a little nuts (now if only he'd have tried to argue about my age then maybe I've of noticed I was dreaming). Oh well, my mind is trying to give me hints.

But instead of going to the elementary school, we just went to the library instead where we were looking for a particular book I was interested in called the art of electronics. I was thinking about doing some more circuit building in my free time in the dream. When I got out at Glendale Public Library however (another sign, I wasn't in Flagstaff) I had a rather bizzare sword with me and felt happy to unsheathe it to look at it and brandish about, much to the fright of people at the nearby bus stop. It was made entirely out of thick glass which was formed into a most narly shape with all the corners smoothed out except along the edge. There were a particularly large number of people waiting at the bus-stop too. Apparently buses became more popular in Phoenix despite the fact that that they raised the prices to exhorbiant costs so that only people who can practically afford an old car can ride everyday.

The only other thing I remember about the dream is that the library did something bizzare and started placing popular books inside of their own special aisle at Safeway food stores. You could rent them out at these locations for the cost of 5% of the total book cost, but could do so for an extended period of time before having to return it. It was apparently a way the library was trying to make more money, "popcorn and a good book".

      Flim Flam Reality TV

Would have done well with a WILD last night, I had lots of hypnagogic imagery fast, but cut it off because my mind was forming nightmeric imagery and I figured I'd better just jump to sleep then focus on nasties. Of course, once I went lucid I could transform them all into bunnies or even just fly away from them, but I figure I'll just wait for a night that my subconcious wants to be kind to me during (I had little time to sleep anyways).

By the way! Thank you everyone for the views and comments!

      Here is my color key
      Dream, Non-Dream, Lucid Dream,

      Dream 5.0

Last nights dream takes place in a far away land, far away from Las Vegas or Phoenix at least. I was at a hotel, that was mostly strangely built into a campus and had about several floors in the most open space/dead construction you could imagine. On the far west side, there were offices for professors and on the right side, rooms for prospective students. I was somehow interested in going there concerning the study of Applied Math.

However, before I could entertain the idea or discuss anything about the school I was pre-empted by a rather plump fellow in a fancy jacket, a double chin and a massive beard. He said he was interested in teaching some students how to play a game in gambling for free (no bets I was assured) so figuring that I might use the game sometime to pass the time with others while using the same policy I accepted his invitation.

Unfortunately, when I got there, I found it was anything but. It turns out, he owns a casino in Las Vegas, and was looking for students to take part in a gambling reality TV show involving said game. The winner would take home "ONE MILLION DOLLARS!". This got everyone excited, but I realized from the start this seemed like a pitch. First he was throwing rather high quality food in front of us without asking (my neighbor stole my drink! O_O And I had to practically argue to get it back). And then there were other issues, like the fact that he mentioned quickly towards the end that we'd have to fly (or find our own transportation) to Las Vegas every weekend on Sunday to do the filming. But he said, "everyone would be a winner".

So I started getting suspicious, and even though I was in the final group without asking to be, I had basically decided that this would interfere too much with my education. Then came the fine print when I asked him what he meant by everyone being a winner, e.g. "what would you say the average take-home prize would be".

"Oh, about $3,000! Of course the median could be $10,000! But don't worry, you won't get too far in debt from it, nothing you can't pay off."

WAIT! Pay off?! We're putting up money on top of all this? And $3000 for a semesters worth of pain in the neck and sticking my neck on television, jet lag, what not. I can make that at McDonalds! Plus the 1 mil is garunteed to be cut in half by taxes, this would just completely be a waste of my time. I'm sure he got this drift, but then I asked a second question and that really irked him.

"So, if this is being held in Las Vegas, might I ask out of curiosity why you're coming all the way out here for contestants?"

He made a disgruntled face, and his suit that followed him around prompty walked over and grabbed me from underneath the arm socket and yanked me up (I must have been underage too, you could never pull that off at my weight now - I'm often lighter and younger in my dreams and fragiler because it really hurt) before trying to drag me away... when I'd of left if he said he wasn't interested in me; jerk. He literally pulled me across the room before taking out a black leather card which apparently had my info on it from the hotel computers and wrote a large black X across it. It was the most comical outspoken display I ever saw. I laughed it off and just went on my way though.
Too bad I didn't gain lucidity then, I could have went Chuck Norris on the guy . Hai YA! The path of pain begin with a single mis-step! *Karate chop and ippon senage*

Apologies for not updating this lately, it's not that I haven't had time or desire, it's simply that my dream-recall has been rather bad. Emotionally and spiritually my life has been rather unstable lately as well, particularly at night. However, I can ascertain that the two are related, and if anything I need my dreams now more then ever so that I can find out what my subconcious is trying to tell me.

I've been trying the CANWILD technique lately, but haven't managed enough success, I apparently haven't gotten used to it yet as half the time my chime wakes up too much and the other half of the time I sleep right through it as if it weren't there. I have it fire off at two times in the night, roughly 3:30 and 5:30 (it will chime automatically about every half hour after that).

Hopefully more dreams in the future,
      -Pascal

Minor Dream Recall (Have to restart somewhere)

      Here is my color key
      Dream, Non-Dream, Lucid Dream,

      Dream 6.0

This dream takes place entirely in my Real Analysis course that I had last semester - wonderful I'm now dreaming about math, which like normal makes no sense in my dreams. The entire dream is a weird mix between baseball and mathematics and given that the math made little sense to me in the dream and I'm not the best at baseball, it wasn't my favorite scene at the moment.

The entire thing had to do with proving something about second derivatives and sine and cosine in a manner that didn't make sense in reality (as though we could change some tiny seemingly inconsequential thing in math and the second derivative of sine would no longer be minus sine but something else). And somehow we were going to demonstrate this by playing baseball with the desks in the room - and I was up for first bat.

Oddly enough my baseball abilities in dreams are apparently better then they are in reality and I got a hit in on the first swing O_O (GO PASCAL!)... And because of my lighter dream-weight I even made it to second base. In between the runs though, the teacher would teach class, so after the second person swung and missed, I had a deviant idea... while everyone was watching the blackboard I took off and stole third - and before anyone could react tapped the front of the classroom (home base). Can one steal home base? I didn't know, I never tried it in baseball and I wasn't a pro on the rules by any stretch... but I managed to pull it off with the person holding the ball just inches behind me before they tripped and fell on the grass that flipped back and forth between a field and a floor tile.

It was quite a strange dream with any number of dream signs, but ultimately, I was too focussed on the math to realize that. At least I was able to remember it though.

Hooray for slight recall... wow that has been a while. I wonder why our minds forget dreams so easily but recall life with far greater ease.

      Dream 7.0

The dream takes place in a war-zone, debris is everywhere and I was with a squad of about six. My gun was pointed near the ground as we moved at a quickish pace towards some distant mission objective (does it ever really matter what the objective is?). We came up upon a downed helicopter with the center torn out when we began taking fire from within. We quickly returned fire and when I realized the source I quickly popped a grenade, bouncing it off the back of the chopper and quickly disposing of the offending force. The blast sent several others running for cover and we did a quick strafe over their position but I don't remember hitting any of them. (Guns are always useless in my dreams - I apparently find them a worthless weapon).

I know we continued on in the dream, but not much happened.

Creepy Dream In a Pet Cemetery

So while my DR has been rather down as of late (apparently my subconscious doesn't want to tell me much of anything), I did manage to get a few dreams while away on vacation for spring break. Unfortunately I only remember one of these.

      Here is my color key
      Dream, Non-Dream, Lucid Dream,

      Dream 8.0

A few of the nights I was away, I slept in our pop-up camper, which is located on the western side of our house. Interestingly enough, it is surrounded by a pet cemetery, as we bury all of our animals in our back yard in memory of them. It hardly feels creepy sleeping back there, in fact I got some rather good sleep the first night. The second night though was a bit strange.

In the dream I woke up in the camper and heard something moving around outside. When it got to the window of the camper it looked about the height of a medium sized dog, but was completely bald with brown skin and nasty looking teeth. It was snarling and scratching on the sides of the camper looking for a way inside. All the while I remember being told (and I knew it was the animals that had been buried back there) to get out and leave the camper, it was safe to sleep in there.

I had a false awakening where the dogs were being let out and everything was back to normal. Noticing the light, I asked my father (who I could hear letting the dogs out) to stay there as I grabbed my stuff and headed inside. I then awoke for real... and figured that if my animal friends were trying to tell me something, I may as well listen. So I slept on the couch that night.

Mind you, the creature that I saw in the dream wasn't like any of the animals I've ever had. I got the drift it was more demonic then animal.

Felt rather sick last night so getting to sleep was my primary goal once the chills started in. I did manage to get some dream recall in though.

      Dream 9.0

      Here is my color key
      Dream, Non-Dream, Lucid Dream,

This dream took place in a weird mesh between the middle ages and the modern world. Apparently, I was in school training to be a knight! And that involved cleaning and washing my future steed. But on this day a long time ago, there was a terrible accident. I was shown a vision of werewolves... werewolves who were apparently terrified out of their skin by even bigger creatures! @_@

Three headed cerebais (how does one describe the plural of cerebus?) were having a wonderful time eating everything in the forest. That night, a group of graduates from our school were in the forest and running away as well. However, the creatures were too fast and outran them tearing them to shreds like pit bulls with a happy little squeaky toy.

On account of this, our group leader somehow concluded they would hold a memorial every year by banning the usage of the bathrooms during the night... what? Yes, you're as confused as I was. In fact, this made so little sense to me during the dream that I was determined to go in there anyways! Mwah ha ha ha...

In fact, I succeeded and planned on washing down my horse... which was freakishly small... it looked more like an over-sized guinea pig O_o. Anyways, I never did wash the horse, but me and several others that had snuck in soon heard the head of our class storming down the hall... apparently he'd gotten wind that someone had stolen his keys ^_^.

I took to hiding in one of the stalls and heard him come in. He bellowed and yelled at the others as he found them and I felt it was only a matter of time before he found me... however, I remained unfound. After he left, I remained to just have the whole bathroom to myself... not much of a prize really... except it was huge. For some odd reason all the bathrooms in my dreams all have tiled floors and sides and they are huge. I mean, I've seen bathrooms in my dreams that are the size of grocery stores! With aisle after aisle of nothings but toilets, urinals and showers. However, they are almost almost invariably clogged or out of order. That's actually a really good dream sign, I'll have to do a RC in the future whenever a bathroom seems particularly over-sized.

I could certainly have lived in this one, but instead just left the stall and wandered about a bit before the dream ended. I noticed that the architecture seemed different (and when I awoke that was quite apparent). There seemed to be a wall that jutted out for no apparent reason that would explain why said hall-room leader was unable to find me.

Current time is 3:45 AM, I have some strange hobbies... The dream spoken of, took place prior to about 3:20 AM which is when I woke up. I tried performing a WILD after that, but was unsuccessful and my stomach was telling me to get up anyways (hopefully some of my discomfort goes away by the time this is finished).

      Dream 10.0

      Here is my color key
      Dream, Non-Dream, Lucid Dream,

This dream was fun... I'm not sure that I would have changed it even if I went lucid. It took place in a hotel with a bunch of my online friends. I could only pick out two distinct "presences" however, whether they were there or not. We were just chatting away with David Lillie, whose work in Dreamkeepers we were all a fan of (we just meet for fun in chat almost every day - so I'll have to ask to see if anyone remembers it... if so, it would be my first shared dream).

In particular, given that we were all meeting "in person" he joked that he didn't have a Prelude once again for us that night (he normally throws a comic up every Tuesday after he's come online... he rarely comes online other then Tuesday as well ). But he wanted to discuss his work in Volume 3 with us as far as the script went. It was quite fun really.

I remember first being shown a sketch, a rather thin almost frail character, short hair with ears that were somewhat elvin in style (but shorter) with a bit of fuz along the edges, along with a cute tuft of fur along the cheek line. This character was, to my shock, actually a dastardly villian under Nabonidus. I was then shown another scene, which was quite interesting which involved a flashback with said character... I think it described their first meeting with the Nightmares in the story, perhaps giving some flesh to the question "How does a DK become a dark DK?". Perhaps even more interesting was the carossel that was nearbye, which given that it was a flashback contained younger versions of the various characters he made in commissions riding on the horsebacks.

Sadly, continuity was lost from here and I just remember running back to my hotel room after I noticed that the door was open (it had a strange door, kind of like a sliding glass door that you'd wouldn't expect for a main entrance). Inside, my laptop was still there along with my phone and wallet, but I felt rather uneasy about proceeding into the closet near the bathroom, especially given that the lights were off. Just in case, I figured that I'd clear out with my two more expensive items and if they wanted to snag my clothing I guess I'd let them have it .

From that point on, the hotel transformed into portions of my parents house back in Phoenix. with the hotel scene literally starting where our Dining room was O_o (and I did notice it was just plain weird but not enough to do a reality check... not that I could in those dark lighting conditions the dream had). Somehow or another I had concluded that I was going to sleep on the couch in our living room instead and it was there that the dream ended and I woke up.

-seems my DR might just be improving, now to work on achieving lucidity once again! By the way, apparently I have proceeded into the depths of fanboyism. At least I have fun with it ROFL.

      Dream 10.1

This dream is kind of weird and takes place with my father in the hospital... for some reason or another that even I've never been able to quite understand, this used to happen alot in my life. However, thankfully not so much anymore. I walked in to find that he was doing better with some pain meds in a tiny room (a little larger then a walk in closet) with a view over what appeared to be Flagstaff... rather odd. While there the cleaning girl came in and started vacuuming the floor with a rolling vacuum cleaner. However, after she had gone over the entire floor there was still lots of dust and even an empty bag of chips (I don't think a vacuum would pick that up - nor did I know why the hospital would allow food in this section).

My mother stopped her and instinctively noted a problem of clogged up hair in the revolving section on the bottom, yanked it out and then magically the vacuum could clean the floor much better. However, she dropped the original chunk on the floor and they didn't push the vacuum back over that but instead were content on picking up. Not be un-chivalrous, I stopped them and did it myself and then tossed it in the trash bin. At this point my mother noted that I should probobly wash my hands and I decided to do just that and walked south down the hallway.

I was amazed upon coming to the end however that they had a whole segment of eateries and other businesses within a massive hall. There was a McDonalds a Burger King, several other fast food places (get your cardiac arrest after your gallbladder surgery). I was going check them out when I remembered my hands. Another wierd thing about this dream was that the washing stands for both the mens and womans restrooms were out in the open outside the restroom... and there was a difference. The mens washing unit gave far more water then the womans restroom stand which only gave out a mist... yeah... It was so off-putting that my mother opted to use the mens wash-stand instead.

Somehow after that I got back to my room and was having a discussion about various things in Native American mythology with two other young people who were Navajo. In particular, I asked if there really was a native American myth about something called a "Jinku", from the comic CrowFeathers (Two comics in one night). They got really quiet and then proceeded to tell me that these were monsters and that I should leave them alone and get as far away from them as possible. The other cut in though and noted that they looked just like ordinary people except that they could change at any moment into a ravenous beast and would never be the same again.

I left my dorm at that and noticed to my enjoyment that there were even more mountains in Flagstaff then normal. Beaver Street Elementary was now merged with a small rocky mountain that was about 2-3 times the schools 3 story height. The sun was setting and there was a spring on the side that burst out in a spray of water that refracted the light to makes a scene that was just plain beautiful. I think I started questing this however and then the water-fall turned into an elaborate sprinkler system that was just playing tricks on my eyes... My mind didn't want me to become lucid tonight apparently... well sometimes my mind is the storyteller, but eventually I'll write part of my own stories.

Out of though there suddenly came a roar, and from behind me I saw a group of Native Americans in head-dresses and colorful clothing, that was really quite beautiful... I've of stopped to stare, but the other Native American looking angry came out and yelled that his friend had informed the tribe that he though *I* was a Jinku... and the people running at me wanted to kill me ^_^. X_X Wai- what?!

Turning around I ran as fast as I could the Indians in hot pursuit, I ran and ran until eventually they over-took me... but just as this happened a bell sounded in the distance and they suddenly stopped, turned around and walked away. I was later told that they could kill me after the bell rang, but that the event would continue again the next day much to my fright (I like how I can feel emotions much more vividly in dreams then in reality... good grief).

At this point the dream came to an end.

GAAAAAAAAAAH! Dratsit. I've been feeling down because I've only been getting regular dreams for a long time and so I didn't put them down here (This is supposed to be a site about LD and not regular dreaming) and... and... last night I had another lucid dream! Hooray but... my dream recall is once again mostly shot. T_T. And that's bad. God only knows I might have had several last night!

In any case, I'm only writing down my lucid here because that's the only one I can vaguely remember. I don't know why I can remember this, but my mind was apparently very busy last night. I somehow feel I must have had close to 10 dreams last night. Mass amounts of dreams. I felt like I went through several days worth of dreaming and frankly I woke up rather refreshed with the alarm clock but wishing I could catch just a few more Zzzs just for the dreams. Why tonight? Well, maybe my self is trying to heal me. I've had a lot of psychological pain lately and told myself that I need to be restored, but I'm not sure exactly what to do, just tell me. Because it's my subconscious I notified it about using dreams (and to try again and again until I could get good recall). Once I can get a recall of all it wants to say, I can then get busy with interpretation. (Sticks his Carl Jung brain on)

      Dream 11.0

Ok, so I can only remember vague details about this dream. One is that I was walking down the street when I suddenly realized I was dreaming. I didn't even do a reality check, I just knew. It had that "presence" if you know what mean.

I stopped, I wanted to try flying again, it was fun and I enjoyed it last time and maybe I could get further then I could then. But I'd need to improve on my speed, Mach 2 wasn't going to do it (I'm apparently very greedy when it comes to exploring). So I did just that, simply felt myself lift and my body went up, it shot straight up and as I poured on the speed I was eventually going so fast that I had to close my eyes from the wind... That was a bad thing. Turns out that I need goggles in my dreams for wind sheer, remind me to build a pair IRL to allow me to reach higher speeds when they eventually become part of my dreams.

In any case, I experienced something here I know I've heard others talk about. Once you close your eyes for any period of time, it's REALLY hard to open them again. I stopped, but it felt like they were "stuck". I'm not sure how I got them open again, but eventually I did and I was back on the ground. I was a bit scared though for a while, that I was going to have an entire lucid dream stuck looking at the backs of my eyelids. It made me aware that I was actually able to see myself blink in my dreams and it happens rather often, I just tune it out normally like I do IRL. But blinking is fine, closing my eyes... not fine. Defective dream eye-lids.

In any case, it did give me enough lucidity (no pun intended) to realize that flying off to Anduruna like I had tried last time wasn't a goal I REALLY wanted at the moment. However, I did know what I wanted to do. I wanted to try and speak to God.

Ok, this is now entering the weird realm of my mind. To me, the dreamworld is somewhat more sacred then my profane everyday life. And hence, there is a possibility (even out of sheer lack of experience) that I can experience God more through dreams. I'm not the first, lots of people have had spiritual experiences in dreams, and I have actually had my own fair share as well. Whether the logic obsessed wish to argue over this is up to them, it's my life and thats how I choose to believe .

So. I wanted to talk to God, but I somehow felt I had to find him first, and my first thought was to try and find the temple of my soul. I didn't know where I was in the dream at the time, it looked like a residential block, but I didn't recognize it as any particular place (it was just weird and typically vacant of people I could talk too... all of my dreams need more people - my dream soul feels alone and unloved ) so... finding a church like that would be difficult. So I tried thinking about God's name, in particular, I was using Yaweh, or a pronunciation of the ineffable name because the idea of a tetragrammon strikes me as cool. Poor God...

Just then though, I noticed that there was a sign in one of the nearby windows at the end of the block. It was digital and was displaying words. And as I said that pronunciation, the sign changed, flipping over to a rather similar word, but not the same... almost like it was correcting me. Now this annoys me, because this is where my DR got really bad. I remember that I could READ the text, I even remember being excited that I could read it because you normally can't do that in dreams (they normally shift or change alot - even in my dreams) But these words I could read. I was apparently finding things that excited me to know, but when I woke up... I could remember none of it.

How do I explain to God that I forgot our conversation, or ask if he was trying to have a fun chit-chat through a digital sign? Which would be hilarious, because that would be the first literal "sign" God decided to use . Not sign, but you know... a real physical SIGN sign. Get it? God apparently has a sense of irony and humor - and it's awesome. Of course, if I can't remember it, there is always a chance, my mind was fooling me into being excited and I really didn't see anything at all... the dream did end after that and I was noticing weird fading effects by the time I got to the third segment.

Anyways, maybe I'll try to pray next time (I just can't close my eyes while doing so) or figure something else out. But in any case, I did have my second lucid dream that I recorded on this site. WOOHOO!

I've been really bad at updating this lately, dreams have been very sporadic, but lately I know I've had a ton of dreams of a rather religious nature, including a brief image of a mosaic of the face of Christ, and other religious symbols. They've been packed with these symbols but I've been unable so far to actually remember or make sense of them . I did remember one dream though, and I'll post that here. All of these took place on different days but I was able to remember them and so I waited a few before posting.

      Here is my color key
      Dream, Non-Dream, Lucid Dream,

      Dream 11.0

This dream was very religious in terms of symbolism. To put it bluntly I was awaiting trial or consideration as to whether I was going to Heaven or Hell and was doing so while waiting on a grocery store line - although those there didn't prefer to refer to it as a trial, but in any case I was apparently recently dead and had some kind of appointment.

I was given a certain amount of credits to buy things in the store and did so throughout the time I was there. Ultimately though, I don't remember why I bought one thing or another, but when it was all said and done my shopping basket was covered in many small symbols. Most notable were many golden crosses and even one the size of my palm that was covered in white diamonds. Everything in the basket was made of gold, which is weird given that I typically hate the color.

When I was done I had a number that was given to me at the register, I didn't pay so much as they gave you this number and it meant something. Mine was 1.61. I didn't know whether this was good or bad, but couldn't make head or tails from it given the lady behind the counters look. She said it was good, but seemed to have an odd even worried look on her face. It made me frightened.

But as soon as I began to be afraid, I stopped myself and reminded myself that this was my big day. I knew that on Earth I wanted no one to burn in Hell and this might be my only chance to make that statement to the cosmos. I hated the idea of any human ever being destroyed in this place I'd been taught existed since childhood, now wasn't the time to be frightened, now was the time to have courage... and I really felt it wasn't boldness or arrogance, but I felt an intense amount of courage to literally face the God of the universe.

In leaving, I met some of those I had come to love on Earth, they were those I thought of with deep endearment and they noticed that I had a basket I was unaware I had. Inside were a ton of three-leaf clovers of various sizes (once again, some kind of symbolism, I can't quite place, note they weren't four leaf clovers but three leaf clovers).

They all gathered around and thought the clovers were lucky and I laughed, and having love for them, told them they they could each take any clover they wanted and only one and gave away the clovers until they were all gone. I wanted to really give them anything they desired, these were the ones I had ultimately lived, for, these were the ones I felt the strongest need to fight for. I could leave nothing to chance for those I loved now, and those I had yet to learn to love.

After this, the dream comes to an end.

Dream 12.0 (My 3rd LD since being here! Huzzah!)

The next dream I remember happened yesterday and I really wanted to record it here. I had simply gone for a walk in a strange urban environment, lots of yellow light, but nobody was around, everything was completely devoid of other people. After a short walk, I came home and noticed two things, one, I was unsure which house home was, it was like a mixture of the two places I've lived in life. Second, was that my keys were missing.

At that point, the confusion mixed and I asked myself, "am I dreaming?" which was rhetorical, apparently I knew I was dreaming. But to get a valid dream sign I decided to walk out into the yard and think fly or up. At this point, being lucid, I did just exactly that and started taking off... I wanted to get something inside the house, but couldn't get in without the key, so I laughed and apologized to my parents in my head and decided I would literally break in.

To do this, I planned on flying to the second story and breaking into the window. Unfortunately, that requires flight control and as soon as I started thinking up, I lost control and shot WAY up. I was now two houses above my house before I stopped and very lightly tapped on the throttle to get down. All of that control was making my dream blurry and being in the air I wasn't about to try and spin (spinning in air is a no-no if thinking up lightly blasts you off like a rocket!)

I remember that I tried to literally blow a hole in the side of the house by trying to give myself laser powers but once again failed. Why is it that I can fly with ease, but shooting lasers out of my hands is rather difficult? I have no clue. But it got really blurry after that and I soon fell out of the dream.

      Dream 13.0

This one happened today. I remember that I had walked around the corner and found a cat sitting patiently in the distance. I have no pets where I live and have an active oxytonine addiction - I'm addicted to loving animals.

So, creeping up I was about to pounce and capture the cat and accept any biting or scratching it wanted to give me just so I could breathe the fur in it's back into my nose.

As I approached though, it scurried down and it's owner apparently was outside and told me not to do that to their cat. At this point I approached more slowly and it turns out the cat was very friendly, and then changed into a ferret and scampered around and wanted to play, even giving me a play bite. I was enjoying myself, but then the ferret transformed into my old dog Big Bear, who had just died about a month ago.

I stopped. He's already dead, I though. I then pulled back a couple of steps at the phantom image in front of me that wagged his tail and felt immense waves of sadness. Within a few moments, my entire face was covered in tears and I started walking away as fast as I could sobbing, but I couldn't actually feel the tears. I was constantly asking myself, "How can I feel such terrible sadness but can't even cry?!" I yelled it in my mind over and over again, it's a reference to the very numbing form of psychological illness that I am often left to struggle with.

In the end, when I woke up, I was quite surprised. I had neither felt terrible sadness or cried when Bear had died. It wasn't home and felt I wasn't deeply as close to him as I was to my old dogs. But in the dream, my emotions seemed to betray a deeper part of me that had still yet desired to grieve but could only be released in the dreams until something flips in reality and my emotions are willing to trust me again.
