      Plorp's Painfully Prosaic Past Parables

Hai gaiz, dis be mah dream journal

I'm pretty new to Dreamviews (started lurking a few months ago) and lucid dreaming (I've had a few DILDs so far). I thought it was about time I get a journal going. Writing isn't one of my strongpoints, so forgive me if my journal don't sound too gud.

Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated, so go crazy

      Don't be this guy (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I was in a park with my family and another family we were friends with. There was a lot of snow on the ground which seems like it might be a dreamsign of mine since it shows up in a lot of my dreams. But, honestly, I was mostly paying attention to a rather attractive girl about my age in the other family. For some reason she was going to ride home in our car, which was awesome, because I was looking forward to talking to her on the long ride home. We approached our cars, and in standard embarrassing-family-fashion, my family attempted to get into the wrong car. To be fair, it was a silver Subaru Forester, exactly like ours. Which I got a kick out of, because foresters, at least where I live, are EVERYWHERE. After needing me to point out the error in their ways, they got into their own car.

Then, out of nowhere, a giant black suv pulled up, ramming the back of both our cars in the process. The driver was a sterotypical overweight, full-of-himself redneck type, and he started yelling at us in a very profane fashion for no reason. I calmly told him that we were leaving, and he responded by saying "Shut up smart ass." I probably would've insulted him back, but this guy was BIG, and could probably kick my ass pretty well.
      That's when I woke up.

An alleyway's a great place for a social get together, no? (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I began the dream with the knowledge that me and a friend were supposed to meet up in this alleyway in the downtown area of my hometown. My walk there is uneventful, and when I get there, I climb up on a small rock, which, thinking back, looked exactly like a rock from Oblivion and leaned on a wall, waiting for my friend to arrive.

Instead of him, I saw a different person I know, who signaled me to walk over. When I did, yet another person I know told me my "Medicine smelled good" (
in the way that you might tell someone their 'cologne smelled good' or something, but I was sick in the dream, so i guess it sorta makes sense). Multiple other friends of mine showed up in the alleyway, interestingly enough color coordinated (my ex and her best friend both had yellow skirts with black tops, for example) so I thought I might have missed some special 'Dress Like Your Friend Day' at school or something. We all sat around a table which had appeared out of nowhereand talked for a while.

At this point my 5th grade teacher, Mr. Maxwell, showed up asking if I could be the "freshman for his demonstration." I didn't know what he was talking about, but he was my favorite teacher, so I happily agreed. He then picked me up by my heels and shook me up-side-down in the middle of this circle of 7th graders, apparently to scare them. I made vocalizations you make when you're being shaken vigorously to add effect. One of the 7th graders put his hand over my mouth to be funny but was told to go wash his hands since I was sick.

      When September Ends (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I was in a school courtyard area (somewhat similar to my school here in Mexico) and was doing something that I can't remember. There were many people around, including a couple of my friends from back home who came up to me and handed me my bass. I was thrilled about this, since, because of a repetetive strain injury, I have been unable to play bass for the past two months* (when they handed me the bass, it meant, in the dream, that I was able to play it now without fear of injury).

I started playing it, and for some reason, the music that came out was the intro to When September Ends by Green Day
(which, looking back, is odd because 1: that's a guitar part, 2: I don't know how to play it, and 3: I haven't listened to that album since like 6th grade). One of my friends then started singing the verse, which sounded actually very good (another amusing part, since this friend couldn't sing a note to save his life). I joined in, but couldn't hit the notes right, so I dropped down an octave and started singing harmony when we hit the chorus, and it sounded perfect. That's when I woke up.

*A real life condition that crossed over to my dreams, not a dream condition.

Oh, and disclaimer: I'm not a big fan of American Idiot or any of Green Day's newer stuff (any more), though their old stuff isn't too bad.

      Chunks o' Dream (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I remember very little from my dream(s), just a couple of different pieces.

The first was simply me in a variation from 'the hatch' from Lost, in which I was showed by someone to an underground mining-cart railroad system.

In the second, I remember shooting a woman with a glock, and then explaining to Desmond's partner (again from Lost, the guy Desmond killed when he was going to leave the island on Desmond's boat, and the guy who showed Desmond the failsafe switch in the hatch) that M9's and revolvers looked way cooler than glocks.

I watched a ton of Lost yesterday, which probably explains why these dreams relate.

I didn't remember any specific elements of dreams last night. I just remembered I had them, and that they were about Lost :/
