      My Greatest Love: Dreaming

So I hope I did this correctly and am going to start my own dream journal thread.

I guess a small introduction to my dreaming background. I started telling others about my dreams at about age 6, to my Mom and brothers who got tired of it fast. They've never been interested in dreams and don't understand nor believe that lucid dreaming is possible. My first dream I ever remember is around age 3 or 4. The wicked witch of the West was chasing my family around my dinner table on which spaghetti was served on plates. I honestly do not remember when my first lucid dream was, I believe I was either 18 or 19 so about 6 years ago. Considering I've never had lucid dreams before I had pretty good control over the people entering the dream. I just "woke up" inside the dream, thought "oh my gosh I'm dreaming, this is awesome, I can do anything!" so I would ask people to come into my dreams and they would just walk up. Pretty cool. I've always had excellent recall of my dreams and have extremely vivid dreams. Sight, touch, and feelings within the dreams are almost uncannily real. It's really cool and I'm extremely creative in waking life so my dreams are really creative. I don't have alot of scary dreams, but I read here on the website that the more you lucid dream the less nightmares you tend to have. I've had around 12 but that's how many I've written down. I may have had a few more. So anyways here's bits of last nights dream.

Last night I had a really interesting dream. I loved the feeling in it. I was in a forest at someone's really nice house, like it was in a forested neighborhood. Well I walk inside with two of my friends and I noticed a mouse run across and felt cool because I wasn't afraid of it but instead thought it interesting. I looked at this girl and she was scared but trying to hide it. We walked into the kitchen and I believe we were talking about cooking crabs or lobsters. But the feeling was just really peaceful and calm. I have alot of dreams like that and absolutely love it.

Well I really want to begin experiencing lucidity again, I saw Avatar and fell in love with it immediately and when he "woke up" in his blue avatar body I thought "I finally have something to explain lucidity with to people like my family who don't understand it". I felt so heartsick when the guy woke up from being an Avatar and there were his regular non working legs again. I knew exactly how horrible it felt, where lucidity feels so incredibly real and then you wake up and reality never will be as good as your dreams. It made me really sad. I think alot of people here understand how I feel and I love that because most people I talk to think "cool a good dream, oh well I'm up for the day". Whereas we really think about our dreams and what they mean to us.

I'm setting the goal to have a lucid dream within this week.

Welcome to dreamviews, although you've been here longer than I have; good luck with your goals; you're doing nothing wrong, and I hope to hear more from you.

I think we've all had that feeling, waking up and finding out that the wonderful thing we were dreaming about wasn't real. Whether it be adventure, money, or romance.

      Mostly money.

I pick up a half-eaten copy of a book by Neil Gaiman, and decide this is all his fault.

      Shared Dreaming

Thanks Samael. I joined a long time ago but haven't been on in a while.

A personal note- I've been reading about shared dreaming and saw an account (whether real or not) on youtube about a guy "waking" up his brother and sharing a lucid dream with him. I'm going to try it and get one of my own best friends to share a lucid dream with me. Hopefully I will be successful. I consider myself of a sound mind so if it does work then it works. Simple. I'm really looking forward to that moment where I remember to try and wake up a friend. I'm going to go to their house in my lucid dream and wake them up. Wouldn't it be freaky if they wake up in real life and think I'm a ghost or something? Oooo the possibilities, scary though to think about walking on the edge of dreaming and reality. Anyways, I need sleep in order to write down more dreams tomorrow.

So this is my dreams from last night. I jumped straight out of bed to start my day but realized that in doing so I had not taken enough time to review my dreams in order to remember them clearly. I remember 3-4 of my dreams but do not remember the entire story. Usually my dreams tend to be all grouped together but with different scenes. I consider them separate dreams even though they tend to be one long story.

Okay, so the first dream I remembered was that I was in some kind of dark alley way with lots of wooden stairs going down in a square shape (I'm not amazing at describing), and me and my friend were racing away from these two robbers, it was awesome because we were also in some kind of game with lucid abilities such as huge jumps. So we were running from the robbers and came to the top of these wooden stairs and got excited because I was going to do these jumps to speed up my time (seconds from being caught type of thing) and without a doubt in my mind just leapt out grabbed the edge of the banister and turned myself back into the 2nd level to lowest part of the square stairs then jumped again and used the inside of the stairs to pull myself around the last corner and leapt out landing at the bottom of the stairs just to the side of it then dashed away. It was awesome. We had either just gone to the Temple or weren't able to go. (Last night I wasn't able to because of a birthday party, so it was in my dream).

The second dream, I was at my house at night but my house was bigger and nicer. There were robbers outside but couldn't get in because I had made sure to lock the doors securely. I was flipping on a series of lights that were connected to these Christmassy decorations that lit up and moved but I had to be careful because I had to make sure to flip them all on at the exact same time or only one or a few would work and the others would click back to off.

The third dream I remember little about. I was with a bunch of YSA's (young single adults) and there were a bunch of them heading to this park around the corner (I didn't know where this was in real life) and I was convinced by two really attractive guys to go.

The fourth dream I actually remembered a little while later. I dreamed that I was meeting up with my guy friend in his apartment parking lot and a former guy friend of mine happened to be sitting in his car next to mine and his windows were tinted so I couldn't see him. I was facing into my car just leaning casually against it. The apartments were different, it was more spacious looking, basically just a bigger open parking lot. So I was leaning towards my car and my guy friend comes over says my name happily (he does in real life) and we were talking about our plans (I don't know what they were). So we were finishing up talking and were going to jump into our cars and head over to where ever it was when he suddenly leans forward and kisses me three times on my forehead, just being a friend. I was driving away and realized he's never done that before but that I loved it in the dream. I was telling myself that I'd act the same around him no matter what as I was driving there.

So anyways there's my four interesting dreams. I'm going to start trying to get to bed earlier so that my dream recall and chances for lucid dreaming are better. I think just thinking about lucid dreaming will help me since it semi showed up in one of my dreams last night. So good stuff. I've decided it's pretty fun to write down my dreams because even though others might find them boring (because they are just regular dreams and not their own) I find them fascinating and enjoy picking them apart to analyze them when they are really interesting. These ones were just fun but nothing to really think about.

      Just quick....

My first dream was disturbing I dreamed I was late to work twice with no great excuse except that I showed up late about two hours past the time I was supposed to punch in! I was really disappointed with myself.

The second dream somewhat correlated with the first since at the end the reason I was late was because of what happened in the second dream. I dreamed that I was going through this super long maze that was basically a bunch of little rooms and sometimes tunnels leading from one room to the other. Each room had an animal and a theme. I only remember a few of the rooms. One room was about 5 feet wide by 7 feet and was made of glass but had garden furniture, grass, ect type stuff in it...along with a leopard. I had to get into the other room without the leopard hurting/killing me. I don't remember how I got into the other room. The next room had a brown dachshund dog in it and it was also made of glass but narrower by about a foot and then went around the corner in a three by four area. Then I don't remember where this came in but I went through a second time, same maze and through the leopard's room I believe, I squeezed through this incredibly small hole that was long and barely made it before the leopard hurt me. Then once I got through (both times at the end of the maze) I was in this small little room with a opening in the floor where this HUGE waterfall/ride was going down. There was a small space for the log thing in which to sit, then you went down the waterfall/slide. It was about 100-200 feet practically straight down. I went down the first time by myself and the second with a bunch of dwarves lol from snow white type of thing. At the bottom we came to a slow stop like we were in a stream and were in a clearing of a forest. Then I walked out of the clearing straight back into work and was late. Crazy dream.

Well in order to go to bed earlier I've been taking a sleeping aid that apparently knocks me out for around 11-12 hours. Crazy.

Last night I had some pretty cool dreams. I only remember bits and pieces of the first. I was with my brother and a friend of mine (girl) and we had stopped on our way to our cars at school (college) at this multiple fish tank that was set up in the middle of the parking lot. It was really cool and there were a bunch of mother fish that had little tiny babies swimming with them. Almost exact replicas. There were also baby shrimp (all of this is freshwater) and I wanted some SO badly because I've always wanted baby shrimp and in real life only had two but they didn't make it since it's extremely hard to keep them alive for long. So I picked out a few fish then we all had to run because they were closing the store and so we went to our little closet (our apartment in the dream that was the size of a small walk in closet) and were sitting there talking on our mattresses. It was completely normal to live in the store. Then my brother and my friend left and were gone much longer than I thought they would be so I went out looking for them and couldn't find them. At the end of the dream I was working at a pet store that also sold frozen foods and fish that we kill and prepare for sushi (other people buy it from us to use in their restaurants?) and we were closing up. There was this girl who I had just told to kill this puffer fish with huge cartoonish eyes for the next day but forgot that it wouldn't be sell-able for very long because we'd have to leave it overnight. So I told the girl to just do it, but hurry up since we were closing. Then I went to help another girl with closing the doors and this little girl was helping her and apparently helping to collect cookies from a container for people? I have no idea. Well I wanted so badly to get all the stuff on these shelves in the back to their place (basically a bunch of fish bottles like chemicals that customers have picked up then decided they didn't want, so we put them in the back according to label and they were all neatly lined up and ready to put back onto the shelves). Then my main manager told us that we had an extra 10 minutes and told me to put all the stuff from the back shelves to the main store shelves. Told him I was planning on it anyways and hurried to do so. Well then he told me to put these frozen foods back and the labels didn't match and it was on this frozen shelf that was near the floor and extended back about 10 feet, completely inconvenient for customers so I planned on telling him it would be easier to get those deep set freezers. Then the dream ended. Weird dream lol but I loved it because it was really interesting.

Last night I had a really short dream but it was kindof funny. I was in this apartment that was originally shared between a bunch of guy friends and girl friends of mine. This would never happen in real life but it was like this in the dream. Well I had stayed the night and woke up super early and went out into the commons area (the living room) a few came out to join me, then I went into my guy friend's bedroom to get something and he woke up but saw me and got mad and left real quickly. I don't remember anything between that and the next part of the dream which was funny I guess. In the dream I now lived there and had my own double bed and the bedroom I was sharing with 3 other girls was really big and large enough to comfortably fit three double beds. Well I was laying in mine (we were all getting ready to go to bed) and my best friend was laying in the other bed with another friend of mine. She said "Hey can I come sleep in your bed tonight?" (in real life I'm the comedian of the group and am constantly making up funny stories that would never happen in real life or just funny puns) so I said some kind of joke that was kind of like this (changing name) "Rebecca? if you're going to be naked this is going to be a problem." (because I would be uncomfortable with it). Anyways we all cracked up laughing because of how I said it and knowing it would never happen anyways so we laughed for a long time then she came over got on the other side of my bed and all four of us went to sleep.
