      Recall doesn't seem to help

Why is it that most of the time when I recall only about 2-3 dreams a night I will have a lucid dream, but on nights when I recall a lot I never get any?

Is recall even that important? I recalled 8 dreams last night. None of them were even remotely close to becoming lucid. I had done PLENTY of reality checks yesterday, read plenty of dreamviews, even did a WBTB to try to lucid, but all my dreams seemed shorter than usual and none were lucid.

Can anyone help me? My recall is pretty good, and I lucid every now and then, but with 8 dreams recalled in a night I think I should be able to lucid better.

Yes, recall is very important. Without it, you would have lucid dreams and not even know. Lucid dreaming takes time, make sure when you reality check, you do it thoroughly and not just go through the motions (not saying you do, just saying in general). Working on overall awareness is definetely the way to go when it comes to DILDS.
      Lucid dreams, gotta love em.

Wait wait wait, you got natural recall? anyway, recall is important in the sense that you can forget lucids, and in the sense that you can use the recall to keep a DJ and find dream signs so your RCs aren't worthless <.<

2-3 is very good for most people. i have never recalled 8 dreams in a night.

these are stepping stones, be patient.

Yeah, I'm a little fuzzy on the 8 dreams thing. I can remember 2 or 3 at most, and those are the ones with full story lines. Everything else I just consider fragments.

Put it this way. Let's say you remember 100 dreams a month and you manage to get lucid half of them. Thats 50 LDs. Lets say I remember 30 dreams a month with a 100% success rate. You'll always have more than me (or at least more opportunities) because my recall will be my bottle neck.
