Would this work to help dream recall?

Hi, lately I've only been able to remember 1 dream or glimpse of dreams lately. I'm wondering if writing "I will remember my dreams." On a sheet of paper would work. Also I'd like to know what you guys do to recall dreams.

Every night before I go to bed I write down my day as if recalling a dream. If you try to recall your day, it sometimes does feel as if you're recalling a dream, so I treat it as such. At the end of my day entries, I write this with intention: "May I recognize my dreams and remain lucid in all states of consciousness" and let it resonate as I drift to sleep. This is a sort of promise not only to remember and recognize my dreams as dreams, but also to be mindful and aware during the day and to realize the similarities.

Basically it's all about the intention you put behind it. You have to feel it and live it. If the intention fades, the effect will fade.

If i get up in a hurry i find i cannot remember my dreams. The best way if find is to wake up naturally and just lie there and think about what i have dreamt, if i think about it enough i can remember them.

Ironically I find I have to not think in order to recall. I listen to a clock ticking or the traffic outside and more often than not the dream detail comes to consciousness. Sometimes I fall back to sleep again, which doesn't really help.
