      Every day dream signs?

      Hi,
I'm Rein64, and I'm new to this forum. I have started journaling my dreams 3 months ago. I did this, because I want to have a good dream recall before I'm gonna dream lucid. I recently watched the lucid dreaming tutorial by Reece Jones and a question popped up in my mind:

Can I use dream signs I experience in reality (almost) every day as a dream signs to recognize that I'm dreaming? Reece Jones says not to, but of course he isn't god...

For example, I have had a lot of dreams in which I saw a good friend of mine, but I see him almost every day at school... So, can I use him as a solid dream sign, or is it recommended to search for more abstract dream signs?

      Thanks in advance.

Hi Rein64, welcome to Dreamviews! I'd say it's possible; after all, your reality dream sign might be absent in your dream.

But don't rely solely on dream signs and reality checks; question reality while you're doing them. Since people don't question what they're doing in their dreams, they don't become lucid. It's important to be skeptical in reality so it'll carry over into your dreams.

      Good luck!
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I think if you're lucid enough to look for dream signs....you really don't need them.
