      Writing in my dream journal... in my mind.

      This doesn't happen to me all the time, but it does seem to occur every once in a while. Sometimes when I wake up and start to recall my dreams with my eyes closed in bed, I recall the dream, but instead of writing it down in my dream journal I end up imagining myself writing the dream down. I end up really visualizing the process and forgetting that I haven't actually put the dream on paper yet, and end up falling asleep.

      I just wanted to put this experience out there, Has this happened to anyone?

      Thats kind of what I do, I'm not very good at visualization though, so just imagine doing it poorly. Really helpful for recall if you concentrate on it.

      This used to happen to me ALL THE TIME when I was little. It really confused me. For example: I'd by lying on the couch, relaxing, and then I'd get hungry and decide to make toast. I'd get up, get the bread, put it in the toaster and then *SNAP* I'd realize I was actually still on the couch. Still happens to me once in a blue moon.

      It happened to me a few nights ago for my first entry in my journal. I remembered I had to write it down, "I took the journal off the nightstand and wrote down my dream" only to realize I was only imagining it (or dreaming it). I think it was a Fake Awakening but I'm not too sure. I still wrote that down FOR REAL as a FA.

      This happened to me a dozen times at least last month, especially when waking up after 4.5 hrs of sleep [I set alarms for 4.5, 6, and 7.5 hrs on a usual sleeping schedule], since I feel to lazy to turn on the light and record my dreams I often just drift back to sleep, but since recording the last dream I had is still in my head, I often slip into a FA of me writing down my dream or telling somebody about my dream instead! haha : )

      I dreamt about writing down my dreams. I was happy to be done with it so I could sleep again. But then after waking up for real................"What the ****, now I have to write them down again!! :@".

      Happens all the time to me. We just wake up long enough to think of writing down our dream, but fall asleep, so it's a FA.

      I just dreamt for the first time this morning that I was writing the dreams down I just had before I awoke. (I had like 4 WILDS in a row, so that probably added to my confusion at the time. xD)

      Of course when I saw the Mexican on my bed sipping coffee while I was in front of my computer, it kind of helped me realized I had slipped into a dream rather than woken up from my WILD. ^^;;

      So yeah, I think that's really good progress, though. If you're trying to write down your dreams while you're still asleep, it means your subconscious is REALLY getting the hint, here.

      (Newbie here.) I started back into lucid dreaming after a 10 year break.

      On the second day of keeping a dream journal, I had 2 false awakenings and I was writing down my first false awakening in my dream journal while having the second false awakening. Didn't think to do an RC though!

      Other times, I've slept with something on my mind that I needed to get up and check (for example, did I lock the front door?), and I'd be barely awake and imagine myself doing it very vividly then realize I was sleeping.
