      Developing a dream recall

I've read the informaton found on the main site about developing a dream recall. I found the information good but I do have one question. The first way said to wake yourself up during the REM periods was to use an alarm clock. I have tried this but I found it to be quite a faliure (I sleep very deeply). The second was to drink alot of water before going to bed. I can drink massive amounts of water before going to bed and still not wake up to use the bathroom. I've tried focusing my intent on trying to have a luvid dream but nothing seems to work. I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions?

Maybe a new / better alarm clock that can wake you up.

Gamer, what works best for me is simply to tell myself over and over (as I'm going to sleep) that I'm going to wake up after I have a dream, and remember the dream in detail. If you have that thought in your mind as you are going to sleep, you are likely to wake up after you dream -- at least it works for me. Also, make sure that you truly believe what you are telling yourself -- confidence is everything. Check out Gothlark's tutorial on Confidence and Dream Feeling Induced Lucid Dream.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try it tonight before making my way to bed.

Wire a Joy Buzzer to your alarm clock and tape it to your hand.

Never tried it myself but I am sure it would wake you up fine.

I am quite new with lucid dreaming, and i've started trying to recall my dreams about 2 days ago using the MILD method and i must say, i am succesful at it.

I always wake up after my dreams, but i can't always bring myself to it to write them down, cause i am too tired...

But dream recall is only the first step, how can i become lucid? Everytime i wake up after my dream i think: damn, why did i not become lucid?

How can i archieve this? I am also performing RC's throughout the day.

hmm interesting question I have heard of alot of people with that problem, I guess you could try something like a bright disco light hooked to one of those light swithes things that automatically turn a light source on at one time and then off at another

i just gave this idea to someone else on the forum, i think it is a great idea that just goes along with everything else you have learned, unless you have already realized/read this.

One of the most important things is to not want it too much. When you are trying to force yourself to remember a dream, it won't work. Try to let it come naturally. Practice makes perfect.

When you are consciously intending to remember your dreams, your subconscious will pick this up and you will notice that you remember more and more of your dreams. In the beginning it may be just a fragment , or a feeling. But it will develop into complete dreamscenarios. Be patient and persevere.

      good luck

iv found that light meditation helps to remember actual pictures and stories from your dreams, although you have to sit up and meditate on it immediately after waking

I've found that having the road outside my window repaved starting at six in the morning wakes me up no problemo. he problem is I get so freakin pissed off that I forget everything except my rage. WHY 6 in the morning on a monday during my summer vacation!

Anyways I would say that getting enough sleep is essential and it doesn't hurt to talk yourself to sleep. I mean it doesn't work for me but if you can go to sleep thiking about remembering your dream chances are it will be succesful.

Hey someone else gave me another tip. Try waking up 2hours before you need to get up. Then go get a drink of water or something. Doing this shuld help your chances.

uhmm I use the alarm thing.. but it happens to me very much that i remember dreams when i wake up and then forget them because i didnīt write them down... so I made this method so i could remember nicely... If I dreamed about a monkey flying with a big cape in a citie I remember this words for example:
      Monkey flying..

And it stays in my head if i say it a couple of times...
