As I have been trying to recall dreams I had thought I was going somewhere... I remembered about 4 dream fragments in two weeks. I think. I'm not even sure they were dreams anymore. They seem more like hallucinations I had while half asleep.
Before this time I have had zero dream recall. I have never woken up in the middle of the night remembering a dream or woken in the morning to remember a dream. If I lived under a rock I would have had absolutely no concept of dreams or dreaming. :panic:
So I've tried setting alarms to go off 3, 4.5, 6, 7.5 hours into sleep and got nothing. One time I slept through all of them or unconsciously turned them off and went back to bed. Last night I woke up and I lied in bed for a few minutes trying to remember anything and came up with nothing every time.
I've also been using the "I will remember my dreams" thing repeating it to myself as I fall asleep. What can I do to build up my recall from nothing? It seems like a dream journal isn't helping if I can't write anything in it.
